Today's post is not about the outfit, it's about the place.  We were eating nearby and I really wanted to take pictures there since it's such a beautiful square. It was built in the early 40's and it's definitely one of Caraca's landmarks (and you can see "El Avila- the mountain- in the background).  When you get out of the subway, you see this beautiful fountain and the huge obelisk. I hope you like the pics, I want to go back and take more pictures since it's such a great location. Friday's almost here! Hope you had a great week!

Hoy es uno de esos post en los que no se trata del outfit, si no del lugar. Estabamos comiendo en un restaurante cerca y al pasarle por el lado, me antojé de bajar a tomar unas fotitos en esta plaza. Para las que no son venezolanas, esta plaza fue construída a principios de 1940 y definitivamente es un lugar que hay que conocer si visitas Caracas. Tiene un obelisco en el medio y el Avila (la montaña) se ve espectacular de fondo. Justamente tiene una entrada/salida de metro y lo primero que ves al salir es esta fuente con esta cascada, el obelisco, y el Avila. Espero que disfruten las fotos- quiero regresar a tomar más fotos con calma porque de verdad es un sitio lindísimo. Ya casi es viernes! Espero que hayan pasado una bonita semana! Un abrazo.

I'm so upset that I couldn't enter last week's challenge! I kept waiting but my blazer is not ready yet. I went to the tailor today and he said that it'll be ready next week- I'll post my primary colors outfit next week (hopefully!!). As you might know, I'm not home and I really have to work with what I brought. I decided to wear these contrasting colors, I love how they look together (even though, I felt a little like a watermelon!). Mil disculpas que no pude participar en el reto de la semana pasada- igualmente subiré mi outfit cuando pueda. Hoy fue al sastre y todavía no tienen mi chaqueta azul lista. Como saben, solo tengo una pequeña parte de mi closet conmigo y tengo que trabajar con lo que tengo. Espero que les guste la combinación; aunque me sentía un poco patilla (watermelon!), me gusta que los colores al contrastar tanto llaman muchísimo la atención. Yesterday my mom cooked a type of soup called "chupe", and she told me to invite my friends over to eat. Before my friends got there, I made my dad be the photographer of the day- since my mom was busy cooking. We just took a couple of pictures but I prefer sharing these three photos than not posting anything at all. I wanted to wear something comfy and casual, I Iike wearing this long skirt with a tank because it looks like a maxi dress. I know I've been wearing this bag a lot but I tried to pack as little as I could (and the nude color goes with everything). After eating "chupe", we had dessert, and we talked until midnight. I don't know why I started doing makeovers, I did a friend's makeup (she wanted "the kim kardashian slutty look lol), and I curled their hair too. How was your weekend? XOXO

Ayer mi mamá cocinó un chupe riquísimo y me dijo que invitara a mis amigas a comer a la casa. Antes de que mis amigas llegaran, obligué a mi papá a ser el fotógrafo del día ya que mi mamá estaba ocupada cocinando. No me dió tiempo de explicarle mucho como tomar las fotos ni tampoco nos dió tiempo de tomar muchas- pero prefiero publicar estas 3 fotitos que no publicar nada.  Sobre mi outfit, quería usar algo cómodo y casual- lo que ven no es un vestido, es una falda y una camiseta que son exactamente del mismo color y me gusta usarlas juntas para que parezca un vestido maxi con la correa. Se que han visto muchísimo esta cartera ultimamente pero intenté traerme a Venezuela la menor cantidad de carteras posibles por cuestiones de espacio (y este color combina con todo). Luego de comer muchísimo chupe, fue la hora del postre. Pasamos toda la tarde y noche chismeando en mi casa, luego me dió por ser "estilista": maquillé a una amiga y les hice rizos a las otras dos (con sesión de fotos incluídas después). ¿Cómo pasaron el fin de semana? I just wanted to share some silly pictures we took two weeks ago. We were at the movies and I was like " I have never being inside a photo-booth". I convince my boyfriend and it was super fun. Estabamos en el cine y vi uno de los puesticos donde toman este tipo de fotos y es algo que siempre había querido hacer. Lo convencí y nos metimos adentro a tomarnos fotos, fue super chevere. I don't know about you, but I like knowing the person who's behind my favorite blog- I think it makes you like the blog even more. Me ha pasado muchísimo que quiero saber un poquito más de la persona que está detrás de la pantalla de la computadora. Se que leyendo deben saber cosas como que me encanta el sushi, que adoro a mi perrito y que es raro que me vean en blue jeans.  Razón por la cual me encantaría que me preguntaran lo que quieran; puede ser de moda, belleza... o cosas aleatorias como que cámara utilizo. No puedo esperar! Un abrazo a todas!

I have no idea why I didn't post this outfit before (it's from Monday!). I don't even remember what I did that day so I'm going to tell you about my week. On Tuesday, I had lunch and spent the day with my best friends from high-school; we had so much fun and we really needed to catch up. On Wednesday, I went to a coffee place with Nina from Cuchi Cakes (This info is mostly for the people who live in Caracas- but she does the cutest &delicious cupcakes ever). We talked for hours, she's so sweet! To see what I wore on Thursday, click here.  About this outfit: I wanted to wear red + navy (combination I haven't tried before). It kind of reminded me of the polka dot outfit- but with stripes and navy instead of black. . I added a navy blue bag and red accessories (isn't the ring the cute!?)  I'll definitely take lots of pictures this weekend. I hope you have a great weekend! XOXO

No se porque este look se me acumuló, ya que es del lunes. Ni me acuerdo que hice, así que les voy a contar de mi semana. El martes fui a comer con un grupo de amigas de toda la vida- y después pasamos toda la tarde chismeando y poniéndonos al día con nuestras vidas. El miércoles empezó en el dentista- apenas llego son citas en todos lados. Después de eso me reuní con Nina de "Cuchi Cakes" (Si eres de Caracas, tienes que ver los ponquecitos espectaculares que hace- me regaló unos y aparte son exquisitos. En FCF les contaré más), estuvimos horas de horas hablando en un café. Lo que hice y lo que me puse el jueves, se los mostré aquí. Hoy es día feriado en Venezuela, ya les contaré que me puse y como estuvo mi fin de semana. Sobre mi outfit: quería utilizar mis pantalones rojos con azul marino (combinación que no se porque no había intentad); me recuerda un poco al outfit del reto de lunares pero rayas en vez de puntos- y colores azules en vez de negros. Le agregué esta cartera azul marina y detallitos rojos (¿no les parece el anillo una belleza?) Espero que disfruten mucho este fin de semana! Un abrazo!

The day started at the hair salon, I really needed a manicure/pedicure. After that, I headed to have luch with Beatriz from "Mujeres del Siglo XXI" (which translates to "Women from the 21st Century"). We ate at a sushi restaurant that specializes in temaki rolls ("cone shaped" rolls), it was delicious. I had so much fun, she's a sweetheart!! She "interviewed" me- I'll definitely share the interview when it's ready. Then, we walked a couple of blocks because we wanted to go to this new square to take pictures. El día empezó en la peluquería, me tocaba un manicure/pedicure urgente! De ahí fui a almorzar con Beatriz de Mujeres del Siglo XXI en una temakería japonesa llamada "Conos". Estuvimos hablando muchísimo y me "entrevistó" de una forma super casual- cuando el artículo esté listo, se los mostraré. Ella es un amor, y me impresionó muchísimo lo emprendedora que es- definitivamente tienen que chequear el blog que escribe junto a dos amigas (etoy segura que se van sentir identificadas con las historias). Luego fuimos a una plaza ya que queríamos tomar unas fotos juntas y la plaza a la que ibamos es lindísima- pero ha empezado a llover durísimo y apenas pudimos tomar una que otra. I was supposed to publish an outfit color-blocking with primary colors- but I'm in Caracas an obviously I couldn't bring a lot of clothes. I was planning on wearing a bright blue blazer but I want it to get it tailored for the challenge and it's not ready yet . I'm really sorry. I hope I can post it soon.On Sunday, Father's Day, we had brunch with my mom's family at the small city I told you I was this weekend. We ate delicious Venezuelan food ("arepas"). After that, we drove back to Caracas, got ready and we went out to had a late lunch/early dinner. We went to my dad's favorite sushi restaurant (I know it sounds like it was my idea to eat sushi, but it was his). About my outfit: I wanted to wear my bright pink blazer with neutrals and a pink belt. Se supone que hoy fuera el outfit del reto de usar colores primarios, pero vine a Caracas antes de escoger el reto y lo que me quería poner está en el costurero (me quedaba grande, y lo mandé a arreglar. Tenía la esperanza que estuviera listo hoy.). Así que discúlpenme, pero les prometo publicarlo después.El domingo, día del padre, primero la pasamos con la familia de mi mamá e hicimos un "brunch"/desalmuerzo con arepitas. Después de eso recogimos y regresamos a Caracas para comer con mi hermano. Mi mamá iba a cocinar, pero mi papá quiso ir a comer sushi (suena a que fue idea mía, pero no!). Nos fuimos al restaurante favorito de él ya en la tardecita, y comimos hasta que no podíamos más. Estas fotos las tomamos en un mirador y me encanta la vista, se ve toda Caracas y el Avila. Sobre mi outfit: quería usar mi blazer rosada otra vez- pero la combiné con colores neutrales y otro toque de rosado en la correa. Lo chevere de esta correa es que tu mismo puedes escoger los colores, hay una opción que dice "customize" y puedes elegir el color de correa, de la hebilla y del palito (he visto unas super originales- para ver más sobre los cinturones, haz click aquí.). FELIZ SEMANA! 

This weekend, as I told you, we traveled to a small city a couple of hours away from Caracas. My mom's family is from there and we like to visit them as often as possible- we go the family's country house. This is what I normally wear there: a comfy outfit (it's very hot there), no shoes, no bag, no accessories! (even though, I decided to add a statement necklace because the romper is very simple).  We had a lot of fun; I played with my little cousins, read a book, relaxed, and ate like crazy. Este fin de semana, como les conté, viajamos a una ciudad a unas horas de Caracas para pasar un tiempo con la familia de mi mamá. Siempre vamos a una casa de campo familiar muy linda- ahí tenemos diferentes animales: perros, guacamayas, loros, gallinas, etc. Generalmente utilizó un outfit cómodo (con traje de baño abajo), sin zapatos, y nada de preocuparme por la cartera y accesorios. Esta vez quise agregarle un collar llamativo para transformar el romper. Fue un sábado muy relax y familiar; jugué con mis primitos, leí, dormí, y comimos muchísimo. Today, Father's Day, I wanted to do a quick post dedicated to my dad. My dad has always being there for me, he taught me to fight when you want something and to follow your dreams- he taught me that setbacks make you stronger, and that love and family is unconditional. He holds me by the hand when I need him the most and he lets me fly because I've always wanted to reach to the sky. My dad has always been my # 1 fan and he'll always  be my role model. Thank you so much Daddy!  I LOVE YOU!

Hoy, Día del Padre, quería aprovechar esta oportunidad para dedicale este artículo a mi papá. Mi papá es la persona que más me ha apoyado, el que me enseño que hay que luchar cuando se quiere algo, el que me enseño que los tropiezos te hacen más fuertes, y que el cariño es infinito y no tiene condiciones. Mi papá me ha agarrado de la mano cuando más lo necesito y me ha dejado volar porque siempre he querido alcanzar el cielo. Mi papa siempre ha sido mi fan #1 y el siempre será mi ejemplo a seguir. Muchísimas gracias papi. TE QUIERO MUCHO!

Yesterday was a LONG day- I never wake up early, but I wanted to go to the gym with my mom. We took a dance class at 8am- I had so much fun, I love dancing. I came back home, took a shower, dressed up... and it was only 12pm- it felt like 6 (at least!!). There was a slight change of plans and we decided to visit my mom's family at a small city about 2 hours from Caracas- but there was so much traffic, we got here at night. I have limited internet access (and when it works, it's super slow); I don't even know how I uploaded this pictures. About my outfit: I love how the stripes look with leopard, it's super classy (and I love this dress, I've worn it a couple of times). Ayer fue uno de esos días extremadamente largos- yo jamás me despierto temprano pero quise acompañar a mi mamá a una clase de baile a las 8 am. Fui, la pasé super, y ahora me duelen las piernas horriblemente. Eran las 12 y sentía que eran las 6 de la tarde jaja. Me bañe, me vestí, y hubo un pequeño cambio de planes.. y decidimos viajar en carro a visitar a la familia de mi mamá. Pasamos todo el día en un tráfico horrible, llegamos ya de noche. Ando con poco internet (y cuando funciona, es lentísimo). No se ni como pude subir estas fotos. Sobre mi outfit: me encanta la combinación de rayas con estampado de leopardo- me parece super clásico y este vestido me encanta (ya me lo he puesto varias veces aquí). El resto del outfit cómodo y simple. Espero que les haya gustado y que esten pasando un bonito fin de semana. Gracias por pasa por aquí. Un abrazo inmenso a todas!

Yesterday was EXHAUSTING!- I spent hours and hours and the US embassy- as I told you before, I got accepted to study Fashion Merchandising in Miami ( can't wait, I'm so excited!). I woke up early to be there in time, I had to do at least 10 lines (and they made me do them the three times- first I needed to get rid of a flashlight, then the folder was too big, and finally I was missing an important paper!). I spent 5 hours standing up, it was hot and then rainy, and the lines were HUGE; but it was all worth it... I'm ready to go back to school! After that, I went back home to eat (I was starving!!), cleaned my face, changed my flats to heels, and I was ready for the pictures..... it started raining again!  I hate taking pictures indoors- but there's nothing I can do about it.  We went to the mall to get my thrifted dresses tailored (they really needed a makeover!) I'm so excited to see them ready (I'll show them to you obviously !!) . XOXO

Ayer fue un día realmente agotador- pase horas en la embajada americana para poder seguir estudiando- que como les conté me aceptaron para estudiar Fashion Merchandising en Miami. Me desperté temprano para llegar allá con tiempo, hice mínimo 10 filas ya que me devolvieron 3 veces; una por tener una carpeta muy grande, otra por tener una linterna y finalmente me faltaba un papel. Después de 5 horas parada, un palo de agua, un solazo, y mucha paciencia, me la aprobaron. No puedo esperar para empezar a estudiar moda, estoy super emocionada. Llegué a mi casa cansadísima y muerta de hambre,  almorcé, me lave la cara, me cambié los zapatos bajitos por tacones y cuando estaba lista para tomar las fotos... una lluvia impresionante. Por esta razón tuvimos que tomar las fotos adentro, y- aunque no me gusta tomar fotos adentro- así quedaron y quería compartirlas con ustedes. Después de eso nos fuimos al centro comercial a llevar unos vestidos vintage que necesitaba arreglar (o mejor dicho, transformar!). Ya les mostraré como quedaron. Un abrazo a todas!

As I told you, I'm in Venezuela spending some time with my family. Today's photographer was  my mom! I taught her how take the pictures with my camera, and she learned so fast! I'm super proud of her, she was amazing! About my day: I woke up very late because I was tired from the flight the day before ( I hate traveling), I had lunch with my parents and I headed to the hair salon. I really needed to cut my bangs and trim it a little. After that, we run some errands and had some dessert at a little cafe. For today's outfit: I really wanted to try a different combination with different elements like the booties. I really like how the denim shirt looks with the pink jeans- finally, I added this beautiful fuchsia bangle! Thanks for visiting my blog! XOXO

Como les conté, estoy en Caracas visitando a mi familia. Hoy la fotógrafa fue mi mamá, felicítenla! Le enseñé como usar la cámara, como agacharse, etc etc y si la vieran, aprendió rapidísimo!! Estoy super orgullosa de ella,  buenísima fotógrafa. Me desperté tardísimo porque estaba agotada del viaje el día anterior, almorcé con mis papás y de ahí fui a la peluquería. Necesitaba urgente que me cortaran las puntas, y la pollina (flequillo/fleco) estaba tan larga que ya no podía ser considerada pollina. Luego fui a hacer unas dilifencias con mi mamá y terminamos merendando en un café. Sobre mi outfit: quería intentar una combinación diferente con mis jeans agregándole una camisa de denim y una pulsera grande fucsia.  Mil gracias por visitar el blog! Un abrazo inmenso!
