HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Instead of doing a regular remix, I wanted to do a collage of my "Halloween costumes". Looking back it's very obvious that I love  being "scary/creepy" on Halloween.... I guess that's the way it should be. I was raised in Venezuela and I remember we only dressed up for Carnaval around February- and it was all cute costumes like butterflies, genies, and TV characters. Maybe that's the reason why I love Spooky Halloween. The zombie makeup has definitely evolved- the first one I ever did was the Prom Queen zombie...and it's nothing compared like the one I did this year. A year later came the vintage-Pilot/Flight-attendant-who-died-during-the-war costume, which was a little better.... at least I added black cirles. There's also a Mario&Princess costume there, being blonde for a day was fun... and a Chonga. For all of you that do not know, a Chonga would be the Hispanic/Miami version of a Jersey Shore type of person....very ghetto- which was so much fun. My favorite is definitely this year's ZOMBIE costume.

For a couple of months, I kept looking everywhere for the perfect white vest- I love this one because it looks like it's leather when it's actually regular fabric...making it even more versatile. I originally wanted to wear the gray shirt and vest with some leopard jeans and black shoes- but I ended up switching the leopard print on the shoes and some burgundy pants. I finished the look with gold accessories and a cool black and white necklace. I wore this last Saturday to go to a Puertorican restaurant with my parents and Gabo- the food was delicious... I forgot the name of the place. Then we headed home to decorate the house and get zombified for the birthday party. Hope you have an amazing day ! XOXO

oh btw; Pink & Pepper, where these shoes are from, is giving away $100 to shop at their store if you help them choose the costume for Penelope, the Pink & Pepper mascot! Check out all the details HERE.

The snakeskin blazer!

After a couple of days of crazy wind and a little bit of rain because of Hurricane Sandy (nothing like the affected areas right now... hope all of you are safe!), we are enjoying perfect weather....not a cloud in the sky and lower temperatures that are finally fall-wardrobe appropriate. So I took out this fun snakeskin print blazer, which is more like a jacket...it's really warm. I have to admit I was inspired by one of the main characters from Pretty Little Liars who wore it with a blue top- I ended up adding my favorite hat, which apparently needs a rest, to give the look a casual/relaxed vibe...it was looking too polished without it. Since the blazer is the main focus, I kept it very simple when it comes to accessories...just a classic watch and a nail-head bracelet. I wore this on Sunday to have sushi with my parents and they to walk around the bay with Gabo- definitely loving this weather! Thanks for stopping by! XOXO

¡Abrazos!

ZOMBIE PARTY!

My last 5 birthday parties have had a theme- I have to admit I love getting dressed and making my friends do it....since it's my birthday, they can't say no. This year's inspiration was the TV show "The Walking Dead"- so my house was full of zombies and a couple of humans running away from us. So let me tell you a little about my makeup/wardrobe. When I think of zombies, I think of pale/green/dirty skin so I tried recreating that. Also, I feel like they always have blood around their mouth- so why not adding a crazy wound in the area that showed teeth and everything...for that I used liquid latex- for the teeth I used black and white eyeliner, and purple/red lipliner. For my arms and legs I used red/purple cream makeup; and finally I added fake blood for the last touches in the shirt and wounds. As far as the clothing, I used a simple white tee for two reasons: first I wanted the blood to show, and second it was very affordable enough to not feel bad for destroying it. As soon as I saw this bronze skirt I knew it was perfect for the costume, it has like a scratched texture. Gabo wanted to buy an apocalypse backdrop to take fun pictures, and that was exactly what we did every time someone arrived. I hope you enjoy the pics! XOXO

Oh I almost forgot...I'm not wearing any type of contact lens, I'm just rolling my eyes backwards for the pics!

___________

Saturday, October 27, 2012

Photobucket

I actually wore this last week just before choosing that the challenge was going to be related to the cartoon-ish shirt- so I decided to save it.... which was hard, I couldn't take pictures this week because of  a storm in Miami, school, and my birthday. I wore this last Sunday to have lunch with my mom and a cousin, both visiting from Venezuela. I wanted to pair de "ka-pow" shirt with simple rocker pieces like leather shorts and fun combat boots. You know the drill.... if you wore pop art this week, leave your outfit at the end of this post! XOXO

___________
