Brick Walls

Sunday, May 31, 2015

Hello hello!! This is another look from Dallas… I wore to brunch the second day. I have to admit I changed several times a day ((for every activity)) because the city was so gorgeous that we wanted to take advantage.. so I ended up wearing and rewearing things I didn't plan. Also, it was funny that people told me like "oh you are going to Dallas" and inset cowboy reference…but I swear I was the only one wearing hats in that city.

Last week I said that on Sundays I was going to share random things about my life that happened during the week or that I'm excited about. Many of you also shared some things and I was so excited to read them…so keep them coming!

1. If you follow me on Snapchat (danidaniramirez), I'm sorry that I mainly post on Spanish but I wanted to apologize for my friends…they are crazy but they are so much fun! Don't get scared!
2. This week I got my hair done…it's way lighter now! I might even go a little bit lighter in a month to start adding color…here comes aquas, lavenders and blues (mostly in the tips..not ALL the hair!. It's going to be fun. Many of you always ask me about the salon I go to for color: Qiu Salon in Doral and ask for Marcos Carrasquillo!
3. I don't know how many time I've said I'm going back to Youtube, I keep recording and then I get so lazy editing…I don't know how Youtubers do it. It's a lot of work!!! hats down to all the Youtubers out there!
4. I'm redecorating the house to make it less of a bachelorette pad and more of a married couple house. I've been on Pinterest a lot but let me know if you have any good Websites for interior design inspiration.
5. I'm going to Las Vegas as a graduation trip..just for the weekend! It should be fun! Let me know of any shows or things I should go there. I went in November for the Latin Grammys…but it was all work and no play!

XOXO!! Thanks for stopping by!

____

¡Hola!!

Dallas: Klyde Warren Park

Saturday, May 30, 2015

-      This 5.2 acree urban green space was our first stop on our trip to Dallas and we were instantly in love with the city.  There were so many little things that make this park great: there’s a park for kids, food trucks with delicious food, books to read (for FREE!), and more. They even offer free activities every day like Yoga, Zumba, Tai Chi, and Salsa. It connects Uptown, Downtown and the Dallas Arts District. Hello Miami! Time to step it up!!!

______

Palm Trees and Elephants...

Thursday, May 28, 2015

I guess I'm finally getting into the Spring/ Summer mood! For Summer, the palm tree print is such a fun idea… I love this jumpsuit from Desigual, I have been using it a lot.  To keep the summer vibe, I added a panama hat and some spadrilles. The final touch: the cutest elephant necklace from Daphna Simon… I love elephants, my family does too. I've been trying to convince my parents to get a tattoo elephant with me and my brothers….they don't say "no" anymore (that means a YES might come one day….it's okay to dream right?). But going back to the necklace…yes, check Daphna Simon- if you are an animal lover, you are going to love all the accessories. I wore this last week with my friends to go to the park and eat…we were just people watching and making jokes…perfect Monday? (it was Memorial Day!).  Wishing you a fun weekend! XOXO

_____

ABRAZOS!

Better by the pool….with GUESS swimwear

Tuesday, May 26, 2015

This past weekend was a three-day weekend… which meant spending a little bit more time by the sun and almost-turning into mermaids. I live 10 minutes away from South Beach but I prefered to avoid the craziness and instead I stayed in my apt pool during the day. I only had to worry about two things: my swimsuit and my sunglasses. So here are two looks I wore this weekend. I didn't plan this but gingham and fringe are two of my favorite trends this season ( I've been talking about them everywhere)…so here they are, now as swimwear! I paired the fringe monokini with some mirrored aviators ( these are a must-have for summer). And I paired the gingham bikini with a cool pair of round sunglasses with a metallic touch. How was your weekend!? XOXO

_____

All your rules...

Sunday, May 24, 2015

Hey everyone! How are you? I'm going to start doing something new… a 5 random things on Sundays and I hope you all share at least something random that's going on your lives.

1. We have been changing all the furniture in our apartment. Our apartment is really small,  I think it's the size of one of those "office closets" the bloggers do tours on. Now our bed has storage, our dresser has 8 drawers instead of 6…we changed the sofa for a sofa bed (which actually has storage too underneath!!). So now it fits two people, a dog, and all my clothes (insert the emoji of the monkey with its hands on its eyes!)
2. I finished grad school on March but I'm doing the ceremony on June. Honestly,  I don't feel like walking again… it's all for the parents, right?
3. I'm going to a music festival called Bonnaroo…have you head of it? I'm super excited, I'm going with a group of bloggers and I'm already planning my looks.
4. Well, I always say this but I want to do more celebrity inspired looks…all the ones that are regrettable are Kardashian/Jenner… and I honestly don't want to do them so often (actually, there's a Kendall Jenner one coming soon…but I did it a couple of weeks ago!)
5. I've been reading the book "gone Girl". I already watched the movie but I love getting to really know the character. Are you more of a book or movie girl?

XOXO!

____

¡Hola!!

BESOS!!

Washable Fashion + You are Invited to the #ModaLavable Twitter Party with Tide Pods!

Friday, May 22, 2015

This is a sponsored post brought to you by Tide Pods & Latina Bloggers Connect. All opinions are my own.
Photos are courtesy of Tide Pods.

I have to confess than more than once I have not bought something because I couldn't wash it at home. I always try to look for pieces that will not get shrink or get damaged if I put it in my washer. Nowadays, we, as women, are so busy doing 1000 things that we don't want to add an extra errand by having to drop and pick up clothes at the cleaners.

Reason why I was so excited to hear about the Tide Washable Fashion InitiativeTide Pods has partnered with actress and model Maritza Rodriguez to demonstrate washable garments can be fashionable…even on the red carpet.

Rodriguez sported a fully washable runway look from designer Giles Deacon, at the People en Español “Los 50 Más Bellos” Gala that took place this past Tuesday, May 12th in NY.  Deacon, who is also P&G Fabric Care’s Global Fashion Consultant , designed the innovative piece to resemble the look and feel of leather but constructed it with washable fabrics including lycra, polyester and nylon.

Through the Washable Fashion initiative, Tide and its Tide Pods are responding to the continuing demand for washable garments and increased consumer appetite for designer fashions and bringing a new approach to fabric care innovation to maintain all the sensorial attributes of clothes and improve their quality of life. In parallel, the program aims to educate and inform the fashion industry about the benefits and possibilities of creating more designer fashions using machine-washable fabrics.

Want to learn more? Join me and a fab group of bloggers (@BeChicmag, @DiariodeLamoda, and @LeAuraLuciano) for a Twitter Party with Tide Pods on June 4th at 8pm EST. You don't want to miss it,  there will be 4 winners of a $200 gift card and Tide Pods products!

____

Escape Day in Miami with Hawaiian Tropic

Wednesday, May 20, 2015

We all need a day to escape the stress and indulge outdoors….it doesn’t matter if it’s getting a mani, enjoying the beach, exercising…or all of the above!

This Summer, Escape with Hawaiian Tropic is an offline experience of pop up events in different cities, and last week I stopped by their event at the Loews Hotel in Miami! I needed a day to feel carefree and beautiful in the sun, especially after 4 flights in 6 days,.

I started my day with a fun, pink manicure and a massage. Then I headed to the beach with a green juice by Juice Press, my Hawaiian Tropic sunscreen, and an Elle Magazine; the day was absolutely gorgeous! Hawaiian Tropic also offered complimentary fitness classes by Exhale Spa; I did a barre/cardio fusion class that was AMAZING. I felt like I exercised muscles I didn’t know I had.

Even though I love the sun, I also understand the importance of sun care to keep my skin looking and feeling healthy. I’ve always shared on the blog how I don’t go outside without applying sunscreen, but it is even more important to apply and REAPPLY frequently when you are out and about enjoying the sun and sand. The new Hawaiian Tropic Island Sport Sunscreen line is fantastic and stands up to any activity. It is ultra light and fast absorbing, but it is also sweat and water resistant. I made sure to reapply with my #HawaiianTropic every two hours on my #EscapeDay!

Do you need an Escape Day? Elle Magazine is doing a sweepstakes where you can win an Escape Day prize package featuring Hawaiian Tropic essentials and a one-year subscription to Elle Magazine. Just share your daily escape on Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #EscapeDaySweeps. Terms and conditions can be found here. GOOD LUCK!

______

¡MUCHA SUERTE!

Destination To Sexy…

Tuesday, May 19, 2015

Today I'm joining GUESS (again! So excited to work with brands I've loved since I was little) to show you their Spring collection and two of my favorite trends for Spring/Summer. I'm really loving high-slit long tops; you can wear them with either shorts or leggings underneath PLUS they have great movement! I paired this top with some palm-tree print shorts (which is a huge trend too when it comes to prints)…I love the pop of palm trees when you get to see the shorts. I wore this to have dinner with Gabe and his little sister in the Miami Design District.

_______

Disclosure: I have partnered with GUESS for this post to showcase the latest collection. All opinions are my own and this post was not edited by third parties.

Destination Sexy: Miami… with GUESS!

Monday, May 18, 2015

Advertisement Last month I was in NYC with GUESS to shoot a video with some of my favorite bloggers…now it was our turn to show you how each of us do our respective cities. I was very excited to shoot around Miami with GUESS.

Palm trees, art deco buildings, classic cars…this is Miami! I’ve been living in Miami for almost 9 years (wow, time does fly by) and I absolutely love this city! The idea behind this video was to showcase how I take my look from day to night…from enjoying the sun and sand at South beach, to walking around Ocean Drive, and to a night-out with friends at Española Way.

I was wearing this aqua GUESS bikini underneath my dress; which I paired with a fringed kimono at the beach (kimonos are my favorite type of cover-up!). Then for the night look, I just switched my comfortable black sandals for some fringe heels and I added a statement necklace…ready for drinks with the girls!

What did you think of the video!? I’m loving it and I had a blast (it was my first time driving a scooter, and I want one so bad now)! Now, it’s time to head out to watch Lo’s video in Manhattan, Luanna in Brooklyn, and Marianna in Los Angeles!

____

BESOS.

Smooth Operator with Rimmel London Wonder'Lash

Friday, May 15, 2015

Lately, I feel like I was bitten by the travel-bug. Life is short and there are so many places to visit and explore. My bucketlist of “places to go to SOON” (the soon part is definitely wishful thinking!) includes London.
I want to cross the pond and wear stylish clothes by the Big Ben clock… hey a girl can dream! So in the meantime, I’m going to just wear a stylish trench and a chic fedora and feel like a Double Agent. All double agents needs a secret weapon…mine is and has always been my long lashes. Since I was little, people always complimented them. As a grown woman, I like to get volume and definition without clumpsso I have been using the new Wonder’lash Mascara with Argan Oil by Rimmel London… I’m obsessed, the Argan Oil leaves lashes feeling smooth & conditioned

What would be your fashion/beauty essentials for a visit across the pond? XOXO

______

BESOS.

10 tips for healthy glowing skin…with Neutrogena

Thursday, May 14, 2015

Whoop whoop! Guess who was featured in Glamour Magazine talking about my favorite Neutrogena products to achieve healthy glowing skin this Summer!? Yes, this girl! But a couple of quotes were not enough; I want to share 10 quick tips on how to get that sun-kissed glow we all want this upcoming season!

1) Do you want healthy glowing skin? The first step is never going to sleep without makeup. Sleeping with our makeup up clogs our pores- which causes acne and premature aging in the long-run .I have the Neutrogena Natural Wipes besides my bed to make sure I remove all dirt and makeup before going to sleep.

2) Drink more water…we have all heard it before, but do we actually do it? Nowadays, we have no excuses; there are event apps that remind us to drink water based on our height and weight. Just a quick reminder: water helps clear the toxins that cause inflammation and blemishes. Doctors recommend at least 8 glasses of water…so let’s stay hydrated from the inside out and increase our water intake.

3) I know we all want bronzed skin during the summer; but it’s very important to always wear sunscreen… even if it’s just for a quick errand. Wearing sunscreen does not only prevent skin cancer, but it also prevents brown spots, skin discolorations, red veins, blotchiness, and premature aging skin. I really like the Neutrogena Ultra sheer Dry Touch Broad Spectrum because it’s very light, it doesn’t clog my pores and it has a matte finish.

4) Clean your makeup brushes. I’m a little bit guilty in this department, and I know I’m not the only one. Brushes and sponges collect bacteria that cause breakout. So let’s all pledge to clean them at least once every other week! Just mix a few drops of your favorite facial cleanser with water, swish the brushes, rinse, and let them air dry overnight.

5) Go for all-in one products: If you are more of a lazy girl and you don’t want to pile tons of products **raising my hand**,  try Neutrogena Visibly Even Moisturizer SPF 30Untinted. This one doesn’t only have SPF 30 but it also reduces blotchiness, discolorations, and dark spots!

6) Healthy and glowing skin begins with what we put IN our body. Besides staying hydrated, it is important to eat healthy and balanced. To keep our skin rejuvenated, eat lean protean and  vegetables. Some healthy foods to snack on: mix nuts increase skin elasticity, lower inflammation, and increase skin rejuvenation.

7) Don’t forget about your eye area.  The skin around your eyes is thinner and more sensitive to face products. The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Eye has become my favorite since it moisturizes up to 1,000 times its weight in water. I have very sensitive skin around the eyes and I don’t feel any irritation or burning with this product.

8) We always take care of our face first…but what about body break outs? I suffered from annoying acne on my back as a teen and I wished  Neutrogena Body Wash Pink Grapefruit (Acne) existed back them. I still get a couple of breakouts when my hormones go all crazy but this body wash treats and prevents body breakouts with a blast of pink graprefruit- so no sacrificing the shower experience!!

9) It’s not only about your skin…moisturize your lips too!! I have extremely dry lips all year round. I can say I have tried every lip balm in the market… but Neutrogena’s Revitalizing Lip Balm with SPF 20, is the only product that keeps them looking healthy and soft – pinky swear.

10) Hello Bananas Peels: there are hundreds of reasons why you should eat bananas. But here’s is a beauty trick you can do with a banana peel after you eat it! Using the inside part of the peel, rub it gently in the affected area for a few minutes (until the peel turns brown); it clears acne and diminishes acne scars…banana power!

How do you keep your skin healthy and glowing? Share your tips with us! And don’t forget to check out my in-book feature with Neutrogena in this month’s Glamour Magazine. XOXO

¡BESOS!

Disclosure: This post was made in partnership with Neutrogena; I've tried all the products mentioned and wear them on a daily basis.

REMIX: Gray Sweater

Wednesday, May 13, 2015

I have a feeling I should be a little more organized with these remixes…it would make moe sense if this would come out in the middle of FALL. But hey, let's pretend I'm like the fashion shows that show one season ahead of time. And maybe it can inspire some girls that live in the South Hemisphere where it's getting cold right now. This sweater is SO comfortable; reason why I basically wore it for casual/cozy occasions…I wore it a lot to school too (where they always have the a/c like it's the north pole in there).
Now the question is…

which look is your favorite?

______

Beauty Sleep Routine + Garnier Ultra Lift® Miracle Sleeping Cream Sweepstakes

Monday, May 11, 2015

“My nights are for overthinking and my mornings are for oversleeping”
That quote basically summarizes my terrible sleep patterns.  I regularly go to sleep very late because that’s when I feel the most productive and the most creative- I answer emails, edit photos, brainstorm ideas, write, etc. Even though I work from home and I’m lucky enough to get my beauty sleep, some days I have to work early and I need a little something-something to feel (and look) refreshed in the morning.  So I’ve been trying to come up with an easy routine to tell my body “it is time to rest”.

_____

After taking my makeup and cleansing my face, I use a moisturizing night cream. Lately, I’ve been using Garnier Ultra-Lift® Miracle Sleeping Cream™ Anti-Age + Anti-Fatigue Night Cream.  This face cream fights wrinkles and signs of fatigue while you sleep…give me anything that works while I rest!! I’ve been using it for about two weeks and my skin felt softer and smoother even after just one use. It also smells really good without being overwhelming (it is infused with Lavender Essential Oil, Rare Plant Extracts and Adenosine). Now I really want to try the Garnier Ultra-Lift® Miracle Sleeping Cream™: Anti-Age + Anti-Fatigue Eye Cream , I’m sure it can help me with my crazy dark under-eye circles.

After applying Garnier’s Ultra-Lift® Miracle Sleeping Cream, I grab my planner. I like listing what I have to do the next day, that way I don’t go to sleep with a thousand thoughts- everything is written down and ready to be done the day after. Also, I don’t like going to bed with an empty stomach, I like having a healthy snack like strawberries while I watch some of my favorite shows online.  Then, I drink warm tea. Tea has many health benefits as we all know-but even Ancient Chinese medicines believes in its calming attributes. Then I try to put the phone and computer away and instead I grab a book. I’ve always love reading…but I can’t lie, it makes me a little sleepy.

_____
