I’ve been living in Miami for 13 years already (which is CRAZY, time does fly!). For 8 years, I would travel back to Venezuela to spend the Holidays with my family- and my husband would go to Puerto Rico where he is from.
We wouldn’t even decorate our house because we were always traveling. We got married in 2014 but it wasn’t until Nico was born last year that we started thinking about creating our OWN little traditions (because yes, we are both Latinos but each country has completely different traditions).
Last year Nico was 6.5 months and now he is a year and a half. He is still too little to understand what’s happening but it means so much to us to see him enjoy such a wonderful time.
We started this year by putting the decorations together. I was nervous about getting a tree and that he would try to steal the ornaments. But I took a chance with a little tree. Yes, it did happen…more than once! BUT he eventually understood that they are not toys.
A few nights before Christmas, after putting our little one to sleep, we sat down in our living room, put a Holiday movie in the LG OLED TV, and we started to wrap all the presents. We ended up watching a few movies but it was such a nice way to spend time together, talk, drink wine, and get the presents READY! I have a feeling that this will become a yearly tradition.
When I was little I remember always partying with my big family and opening the presents at midnight. However, he is still too little. So the adults exchange the gifts at midnight and then in the morning, we let him open his gifts!!
To make it feel extra Holiday-ish (since we live in Miami and it hasn’t been under 80 degrees since January), we put a fireplace in the LG OLED B9 while opening gifts and then proceeded to watch a Holiday movie with him while all in our fun elf Pjs!! Hopefully he’ll dress up with us a while !
Let me tell you a bit about the LG OLED TV B9:
My first impression was WOW, it is so sleek! It’s design adds the final sophisticated touch to any room. Then as soon as we turned it on, I was impressed with the quality. It produces one billion rich colors, including perfect blacks and infinite contrast. For my experts out there: it has the power of 8.3 million individually lit pixels. And as a smart TV, it was very easy to download all the apps and streaming services!

I love the idea of adding a bit of Holiday sparkle throughout the season- and beyond, because who said sequins are only for the Holidays?
This Holiday season I wanted to add a sequin midi skirt to my wardrobe. Yes, it is a statement piece BUT it is also extremely versatile - and I’m ALL about versatility. I have a feeling that this skirt will come handy year after year. This one is from Halogen, from Nordstrom- it also comes in blue, gold, and black sequins. I actually was super indecisive - especially because the blue one is GORGEOUS.
Since I like mixing dressier items with casual items. I decided to pair the sequin skirt with a gray crop-top sweater from Topshop. It really balances the sparkle of the skirt, it makes the look more comfortable, AND it is still super cute and dressy for any HOLIDAY PARTY.
Then walking around Nordstrom, I saw this gorgeous pink feathered bag and I knew it had to be mine. I’ve worn it twice already and I’ve gotten so many compliments on it. It’s the perfect size to fit exactly what you need, and it works from day to night. I wore it with jeans and it was definitely the perfect touch to a casual look too.
The final stop was the GIFT section at the store. Nordstrom has great holiday gift guides for inspiration on what to get anyone in your life. Here are some last-minute gift ideas:
I was looking for a few things for my cousins and sisters in law. And again, I got distracted with these earrings and headband- they are such perfect gifts I ended up getting them from me lol- don’t blame me! The headband is BaubleBar I love it in black but with my dark hair, the pink one popped better! And these star earrings are EVERYTHING AND MORE!

Thank you Disney+ and ShopStyle for sponsoring this post.
When I was little, I watched “The Little Mermaid” probably 500 times. My older brother still tells me that he doesn’t understand how the VHS would still play it. It’s absolutely incredible how much things have changed since the 90s and it’s mind-blowing to think that Nico is (and will be able) to have access to basically any movie, any time, any place!
I was so excited to check out Disney+, and it truly is more than a streaming service! There are hundreds of movies and series to stream: some bring me back to my childhood, and some are becoming great traditions with my own little family!
Since Disney+ is home to Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and more, I keep adding and adding to my watchlist! I’m really excited to watch the live-action Lady and the Tramp, re-watch the Toy Story saga (absolute favorite), and Lizzie McGuire (as I’m very excited to see the new Lizzie McGuire series! Who else is?).
I like that there is content that Nico loves (his latest obsession is anything with Pluto in it, it makes him laugh like crazy), content that we love as a family (I could watch Coco every week), and also content for a couple’s night in (we have watched a few National Geographic documentaries, and they are amazing).

I think over the years I've been blogging, it has been pretty obvious that I love a good pair of black booties. And if you are new here (first of all WELCOME!), if you go back a few posts and you will see me wearing ankle boots so often!!
So I'm always in the look for a perfect pair that I know I will continue wearing throughout the years. Then I noticed that one of the main reasons I was messing up my boots was because they were not meant for the constant Miami rain. Yes, Florida is the sunshine state but it will surprise many people how often it rains here.
So the search for the perfect waterproof boot started. I didn't want them to look like rain boots either. And of course, I wanted them to be comfortable.
I headed to Zappos.com since it is one of my favorite sites because of its range of styles, outstanding service, and fast and free shipping. After a quick search, these Dansko boots, Becki, were like the perfect fit. Dansko is known for its high quality, undeniable comfort, and premium craftsmanship. I ordered them one night, and I got them the afternoon of the next day- Zappos fast shipping continues to surprise me!
They are perfectly versatile boots, I know that I can wear them with everything while also being prepared to the unpredictable Miami weather- and if you don't live in South Florida, they definitely work for the Fall/Winter and the Spring showers. They also come in a taupe color that is super cute!

Growing up in Venezuela, we didn’t really celebrate thanksgiving. When I moved to the U.S, it was instantly a Holiday that I liked celebrating because it reminds us to stay thankful, to revisit the year, and remember the good while spending it with family and loved ones.
I married a Puertorican, and they do celebrate Thanksgiving…their own way. The dishes are a bit different, but oh-so yummy. So I’ve learned that I have to be prepared for the most delicious eating. That’s why this dress from Topshop I got at Nordstrom was perfect for the occasion; it is roomy but it is still very cute; family appropriate but young and fun; and easy to layer if you live in colder weather.
Walking by Nordstrom, I had to get this green velvet handbag (similar here) with the chunky chain- it brings the greens in the floral dress and it is also perfect for the Holidays.
Last touches? The HONEY earrings and the fisherman hat. I think they really bring the whole look together
You all know that I love matching with my little boy, even if we are in the same color palette. He was also very comfortable in his corduroy pants and grey sweater by Tucker + Tate, also from Nordstrom.
Also, did you already get your Holiday shopping done? I still have to buy everyone’s Christmas gifts. Nordstrom has their own curated gift guide section with categories like “Gifts Under $100” or “Gifts For Him”. Here are a few of my ideas for what to get:
FOR YOUR LITTLE ONES
FOR YOUR BEAUTY OBSESSED FRIEND-COUSIN
FOR YOUR BEAUTY OBSESSED FRIEND-COUSIN

I have curly hair naturally but I started straightening it when I was in college. I recently have started to try to get back my curls. However, after so many years of straightening it, it has been a slow process and I still have to style the top of my hair.
I got to try the new Conair UNBOUND Cordless Auto-Curler- when I read the word CORDLESS, I was sold. UNBOUND is the first high performance cordless, rechargeable auto curler. Curls, anytime anywhere? I’m there. PLUS with my baby following me around trying to grab cords, I also feel it’s safer using the UNBOUND.
How does it work?
Your hair is automatically drawn into the ceramic easy-glide coated curl chamber where it is held and heated from all directions. The ceramic surface helps smooth down flyaways and frizzies for added shine. Then you release for your perfect curl, and repeat that process all around your hair.
You can control the temperature: for tighter curls, select a higher temperature.
You also can control the direction of the curl: I personally like curls that flow away from your face (Right curl direction for your left side, and Left curl direction for your right side).
Finally, you can control the time that it curls for. Select a longer time for a tighter curl, and a shorter time for a looser curl.
Then recharge if needed so it’s ready to curl the next time you need it. It can be used cord-free for up to an hour!
How I use it?
My vanity area does not have a plug around, so it’s been amazing to finally get ready there instead of the bathroom. Like I mentioned, I curl medium-sized strands of hair from the top of my head(I let the rest air dry).
As you can see the curls I get with the curler are beautiful. I let them cool down (I might finish my makeup while they cool); and then I brush them up with my fingers so they are not as perfectly done.
And that’s it! I have a feeling this will be a lifesaver more than once because I can do my hair literally ANYWHERE!
Would you try it? Where would you take your cordless curler!!?
