Celebrating Beauty with L’Oreal Paris and Allure

This past Saturday, L’Oreal Paris and Allure magazine did exclusive events in different cities of the country to celebrate BEAUTY! I hosted the one in Miami and it was a blast to talk about the new L’Oreal Paris products  and beauty trends…but also help people update their beauty routine or try something different for the day!

Fashion was my first love… but the hair and makeup can either make or break an outfit. A red lipstick can turn the most basic outfit into a killer outfit…and a dramatic smoky eye can give you the inner confidence to rock a body-con dress! I personally see makeup as a way of enhancing your natural beauty…so why not celebrate that!?

I love trying out new beauty products. I always look for quality and affordability…loving makeup doesn’t mean having to spend half of your salary on it.  L’Oreal Paris has been in my makeup bag for as long as I can remember and the new products didn’t disappoint…at all!

El pasado sábado, L'Oreal Paris y la revista Allure estuvieron haciendo eventos exclusivos en distintas ciudades de Estados Unidos para celebrar el mundo de la BELLEZA. Yo fui la anfitriona del de Miami y fue increíble probar los nuevos productos, hablar de nuevas tendencias...pero lo mejor fue ayudar a mujeres a actualizar su rutina de belleza o intentar una nueva tendencia por el día.

El mundo de la moda fue como mi primer amor, pero he aprendido que el look nunca está completo sin el cabello y maquillaje adecuado. Un labial rojo puede convertir un outfit básico en uno espectacular... y unos ojos ahumados pueden darte la confianza en ti misma para usar un vestido ceñido al cuero. Yo personalmente veo el maquillaje como una manera de realzar tu belleza natural...¿así que porque no celebrar esa belleza natural!?

A mi me encanta probar nuevos productos. Siempre busco calidad pero también que sea asequible. Que te guste el maquillaje no significa que tienes que gastar la mitad de tu salario en el. L'Oreal Paris ha estado en mi kit de maquillaje desde siempre...y estos nuevos productos no me decepcionaron ..PARA NADA. Así que les cuento de mis favoritos.

• L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Mono Eyeshadow:

Have you ever gotten a palette and used only four shades of it? I have! Reason why I love the idea of individual eyeshadows, so you can build your own collection with colors you will truly use. These come in 15 very pigmented colors…either matte or shimmery

¿Alguna vez has comprado una paleta de sombras pero solo has usado 2-3 colores? A mi me pasa todo el tiempo. Por eso la idea de sombras individuales me encanta, así puedes construir tu propia colección sin preocuparte. Esta sombras vienen en 15 colores muy pigmentados...tanto mattes como brillosos.

• L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss

With the highlighting/strobing hype, I think matte lips are the perfect balance. These glosses  go on matte but they don’t fully dry…it’s a gloss without the stickiness of one (win, win right?). There were many shades to choose from…I ended up  wearing “Blushing Ambition” - the perfect soft pink shade! I rarely wear pinks and this shade might have made me love pink again. This was definitely a favorite during the event…so many girls chose their matte glosses for a day in Miami Beach.

Como saben, todo lo de iluminar está muy de moda...por lo que unos labios mate me parece el balance perfecto. Estos son brillos pero se ven matte...no se secan completamente pero tampoco son pegajosos (¡lo mejor de los dos mundos!).  Habían muchos tonos para escoger...pero opté por una llamada "Blushing Ambition"- un tono suave de rosado. Yo casi nunca uso rosados, pero puede que este me haya convencido a volver a usarlos.

• L’Oreal Paris True Match Super Blendable Makeup

Okay, this might not be 100% new but it’s an ALL-TIME beauty fave of mine! I have a feeling this was the first liquid foundation I ever bought while in college and it’s still on my beauty counter for many reasons. First of all because there are 33 shades and you can control coverage! It has SPF (always a plus), and it doesn’t dry out my skin.

Ok, puede que este no sea un producto 100% nuevo..pero es uno de mis favoritos de toda la vida. Siento que fue una de las primeras bases líquidas que probé cuando estaba en la universidad ...y sigue en mi kit de maquillaje por muchas razones. Primero porque viene en 33 tonos, y puedes escoger la cobertura. Tiene protección solar (siempre necesario) y no me seca la piel.

• L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare - Smooth Intense Frizz Taming Serum

Living in Miami, I’m always fighting the humidity and trying new products to tame and prevent frizz. This intense leave-in smoothing serum  is a great option because it acts like an invisible humidity barrier to lock in shine and block frizz OUT!

Viviendo en Miami, siempre estoy luchando con el frizz que causa la humedad de esta ciudad. Este me gusto porque es un serum que aplica después de peinar tu cabello y actuar como una barrera invisible contra la humedad....da brillo y te protege del frizz!

• L’Oreal True Match Lumi Powder Glow Illuminator

Like I mentioned, this year is all about highlighting…this summer the must have in beauty is GLOW! This illuminator is my favorite; it comes in 3 shades: Rose, Golden, and Ice to flatter warm, neutral, or cool skin tones.
A friend and blogger, Vanessa Zambito who attended the event, was worried about looking oily instead of GLOW-Y and DEWY…and I’m mentioning it because I’ve heard this concern a lot! The makeup artist shared a few tips with us that I found very helpful. She recommended using a matte foundation and using the illuminator in key zones instead of all over. Instead of creamy highlighters, go for powder options! Apply them on the high points of the face, where light will naturally hit you (tops of the cheekbones, cupid’s bow, and a tiny bit on the bridge of the nose).

Como dije arriba, ya saben que este es el año de los productos que iluminen. Este verano, no puedes olvidar el BRILLO. Este iluminador me encanta, llevo ya tiempito usándol. Vienen en 3 tonos: Rose, Golden, y Ice...y cada uno favorece a la piel cálida, neutral, o fría respectivamente.

Una amiga y blogger, Vanessa Zambito, quien fue al evento estaba preocupada porque no quería verse grasos en vez de con BRILLO. La maquiladora nos dio un par de consejos que quiero compartir con ustedes porque es algo que siempre escucho. Ella nos recomendó usar bases mates y luego usar el iluminador en zonas claves en vez de en todo el rostro. Las zonas claves serían donde te da la luz naturalmente: la parte alta del pómulo, en el medio de la nariz, arriba del labio, etc.
