FAQ: MY PREGNANCY Part 1

Monday, February 5, 2018

Hey loves! On Instagram I told you girls to ASK AWAY any your questions about my pregnancy. Again, I don't want to FULLY turn into mom blogger but this blog is my life adventure and I want to take you all with me in the biggest adventure ever: MOTHERHOOD!

So I picked most from the comments in a picture or from the DMs I got.

Let's do this!!

¡Hola hermosas!

¡EMPECEMOS!

HOW DID WE KNOW IT WAS THE RIGHT MOMENT FOR A BABY?
I don't think there's always a right moment. We were traveling and working a lot; but after 10 years together it just felt like we were ready to grow into a little family.

After the miscarriage, I waited until I got the green light from my doctor and I did all the tests to make sure everything was alright- and I was ready, not only mentally but also physically.

WHAT'S MY DUE DATE?
May 20th, but my doctor said any time in May. At the moment of this post going live, I'm exactly 25 weeks!

BOY OR GIRL?
I don't think I ever did the full blogpost about it on here but it is a BOY! I'm super excited to meet this little dude!

HOW DID I TELL GABE?
I got some socks and a onesie that said "I LOVE YOU DAD" and I gave them to him as a present. The way his face lit up was EVERYTHING! We were definitely trying so it wasn't exactly a surprise.

DO WE HAVE A NAME YET?
Yes and no. We have options. It has been very hard because we want a name that it is easily pronounced in English and in Spanish. But we have three options and leaning to one. I will share it when we are 10000% sure.

HOW DID OUR FAMILIES REACT WHEN WE TOLD THEM?
I shared the whole story on how I told MY parents, you can see it HERE.
Everyone was  (and IS) so excited. It is the first grandchild on Gabe's side so definitely crazy excited!
For my parents, he will be their third grandkid, but every child is a blessing.

DID MY FOOD PREFERENCES CHANGED?
Not really. At first I wanted more salty stuff but now I'm back to my sweet tooth.

FOOD CRAVINGS?
I'm always craving food so I didn't see anything big difference and I still haven't asked for pickles with ice-cream or something crazy like that.

Because of the first trimester nausea, all I wanted was white rice, arepas with avocado, and  green juice. But now that I feel better, I'm down for anything. I'm trying to watch what I eat, just to stay healthy for him.

ANY NAUSEA?
The first trimester wasn't at all perfect. I never felt like vomiting but I wasn't my regular-self. I felt like I had eaten a lot ALL the time. I couldn't eat anything with a lot of condiments because I will instantly feel disgusted. Also, the first trimester was exhausting, I wanted to sleep ALL DAY

ANY EMOTIONAL CHANGES?
Gabe should be answering this question. Overall, let's say NO. I've been feeling myself, but as any woman: I have my up and downs.

WILL I BE TALKING TO THE BABY IN SPANISH?
HELL YES! Gabe and I talk to each other in Spanish and we know he will learn English in school so Spanish would be a priority at home. We are absolutely proud of our roots and culture and he will be 100% venezuelan and 100% boricua.

WILL I BUY MATERNITY CLOTHES OR FIND A WAY TO ROCK PRE-BELLY OUTFITS?
I don't want to buy a lot of maternity clothes. I've gotten a few pieces but I'm at this awkward stage where the pre-belly stuff does not fit and the maternity fits hugely. We will see when I'm bigger! I'm definitely trying to still wear pre-belly outfits but I realized I have a lot of high-waisted stuff, and that was the first thing to expand haha.

DO I THINK HE WILL BE A GINGER LIKE DAD?
I added this question because it's a funny one. I have a feeling he will look more like my side of the family BUT ginger is definitely a possibility. All I want is for him to be strong and healthy.

HOW DOES IT FEEL TO HAVE SOMEONE GROWING INSIDE OF YOU?
This one was so funny too, I always wondered it too. It feels like a little alien that's sucking the life out of you and making you SO happy at the same time!

Now that he is moving, kicking, and turning...everything feels SO MUCH MORE REAL.
