$8 or 8” Challenge…with PANTENE BEAUTIFUL LENGTHS

Monday, August 10, 2015

Hey girls! Today I’m very VERY excited to be partnering with Pantene Beautiful Lengths for the second year in a row.

When I was in high school, I had a couple of friends that would donate their hair every year. I always thought this was such a beautiful gesture, because it means letting go of something we are really attached to in order to help women going through cancer feel feminine and gorgeous. I believe everyone should donate their hair at least once in their lives…it is still in my bucket-list!

Pantene Beautiful Lengths was launched in 2006 and it encourages women to donate their beautiful, healthy hair to create free, real-hair wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment. Since it began, the campaign has received more than 800,000 hair donations (which is amazing!!)..but we need to keep on contributing. The main reason: can you believe that it takes between 8-15 ponytails to create JUST one wig?

There are many ways to get involved:
  1. Donate your hair to the cause, of course.
  2. Help spread the word, tell others about the cause…maybe someone you know can help.
  3. #8or8 Challenge: if you can’t donate 8 inches of hair for X or Y reason (this includes ME sadly), I want to encourage people to join me and donate $8 to still support the program with a monetary contribution to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths Fund, which was created in partnership with The Greater Cincinnati Foundation. 100% of contributions made to the fund go directly to helping create free, real-hair wigs for women battling cancer. To make a monetary donation, head over to www.gcfdn.org/pantene.

National Donate Your Hair Day is September 8th, 2015 … so if you feel ready to donate your gorgeous and long hair, here are the donation requirements:

- Donated hair must be a minimum of 8 inches long
- Hair should be freshly washed and completely dry, without any styling products
- Hair may be colored with vegetable dyes, rinses and semi-permanent dyes. It cannot be bleached, permanently colored or chemically treated
- Gray hair does not absorb dye at the same rate as other types of hair, so hair may not be more than 5% gray at the time of donation.

To find out more about the hair donation process and how you can help, please visit www.pantene.com. You can also show your participation in the challenge by using the hashtags #8or8 #BeautifulLengths and @Pantene.

_______________

¡Hola chicas!
