New Vanity Essentials …with QVC

Sunday, March 28, 2021

*Sponsored by QVC and ShopStyle Collective. This post includes affiliate links. All opinions are my own.*

Last month, I told you all about how we started a little gym corner after getting an amazing deal on this compact treadmill from QVC.

We still have so much to do around the house and my bedroom is definitely nowhere done. However, I’ve been eyeing some pieces to spice up my vanity and there was this mirror with multi magnification and storage, it also comes in silver but rose gold is more of the vibe I’m going for. I also really liked that the base has a storage perfect enough to keep my daily makeup organized.

Talking about daily makeup;  if you have been following for a while, you KNOW how much of a fan I am of IT Cosmetics. If you are looking to try the brand, this 5 pc Collection is a great way to get a few new every day favorites. Also this Lip Serum Treatment Trio is absolutely amazing  for hydrating your lips- and the pigments are great for that natural youthful looking look.

I also saw this amazing deal for a Micro-Dermabrasion Device that I couldn’t pass- it is from a brand called 7LS and exfoliates outer layers of the skin to improve the appearance of lines and pores. The bad news, I forgot I cannot use it yet (the skin is just extra sensitive during pregnancy). So I might either gift it to my mom on Mother’s Day that’s coming pretty soon…OR wait until July and make sure the baby glow stays!

Since this little desk also works as an office for zoom meetings, I also got this cute and versatile black blazer! You can also find more colors and sizes HERE.

What are your vanity essentials?

Remember you can check out some of the amazing deals at QVC (from home to beauty and fashion, and everything in between), and use the following codes: OFFER ($10 off purchase of $25+ for first time customers) and HELLO10 ($10 off purchase of $25+ orders for second time customers).

BUSINESS OF BLOGGING: Behind the Scenes of a Beauty Campaign

Tuesday, December 11, 2018

I love sharing "Behind The Scenes" posts because you get to see a little bit of what goes behind a"the life of a blogger". Here are the official pictures that were published but I want to tell you ALL about it.

In April, I was reached out for a perfume campaign that would go live during "Mother's Day".

Before even saying yes, since it had to do with my mom, I texted her and I asked her for her fashion/beauty icons when she was young (without mentioning it was for a campaign). In her top 3, she mentioned was Elizabeth Taylor, so it made sense and I said yes!! For me it's very important to only partner with brands that I truly believe in.

Instead of just taking pictures with the perfume and mention it would be a great gift for Mother's Day, I got immerse in the concept. I saw two Elizabeth Taylor movies, I googled her story and her life.  I was so fascinated by everything: her obsession with jewels, her marriage, her work, the HIV/AIDS foundation, and more.

Before taking the pictures, I watched a several beauty tutorials on how to recreate her look. However, I also wanted to still be a version of ME inspired by HER. Since she loved blue eyeshadow to make her violet eyes pop, I went for a blue eyeliner wing (which she also sported for a while in the 50s). I liked that my makeup was definitely a classic old Hollywood look with a twist. I did my eyebrows a little bolder and more angular than usual. Last touch? Red lips of course!

Let's talk FASHION. I knew I needed a big statement necklace (hey I don't own diamonds, so this was the closest I had). I was inspired by a photo where she is wearing a fur shrug in bed so I added this jacket to recreate the style.

The brand wasn't specific about the content but they wanted different pictures for IG and Facebook and a mix of flat-lays, product shots, and portraits.  I liked this concept because it challenged me to play with the product.

There was also a little "issue". I was 8 months pregnant in April and due anytime in May. Since the focus of the pictures was beauty and the perfume, I didn't want my bump to be distracting somehow. It was so funny to see me trying to hide my bump  (you can see it in the pictures with Chiki, but those were cropped for social media). And with the fur jacket, most of my belly was out, it was hilarious!

But wait, not only I was worried about the bump in the pictures...I was worried that I would have to post them after giving birth since it wouldn't make much sense. Nico waited a few days after Mother's day, so it ended up being perfect timing.

When researching Liz Taylor's like, I saw she absolutely loved maltese dogs- she had several white fluffy pups during her lifetime.  I Instantly thought "Ok, I have to include Chiki in the pictures".

For this second set of pictures, I switched to a blue smoky and more of  pink shimmery lip. I was also inspired by some classic photos of her in a robe...I did my best to recreate how glam she was.

BEAUTY: My Lip Wardrobe

Monday, October 8, 2018

Sponsored by Lancôme and ShopStyle All opinions are my own.

Over the years, I’ve learned what makeup look I like the most on me (aka. neutral eyeshadows, a winged eyeliner, and different lippies). I have it down and I’m sure that if you time me, I can do my makeup under 5 minutes.

Since I like to keep my eyes makeup on the neutral side, I basically just switch up the color of my lips. I love playing with different colors since it quickly transforms any makeup look and I can easilymatch the color to my outfit. More than lipsticks, I see them as part of my wardrobe, my LIP WARDROBE.

I was so excited to play with some of the fun formats from Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge and I want to share some of my favorites with you today. I love how can a simple color on your lips can inspire you and empower you! It’s more than feeling beautiful, it’s about living your life beautifully.

Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge comes in 44 shades, with multiple formats and finishes (like Classic Creams, Sheers, Gloss, Lacquer, and the new Drama Matte). I also got a few shades from a limited edition collaboration with Camila Coelho that includes 10-shades in the same formula as the L’absolu Rouge Classic…and OMG, the Lancôme x Camila actual lipstick is shaped as lips- I think it’s the cutest lipstick bullet that I have ever seen. I instantly opened them and put them on my vanity!! But I could’t wait to try them!

My lip wardrobe is full of reds, it is definitely my go-to color. But the Tropical Pink 485 shade from the Camila Coelho collection stole my heart. This formula delivers high color without drying my lips! It’s such a perfect color for Miami but I think it looks gorgeous with fall colors. I paired this Tropical Pink with a fall floral dress; the shade perfectly complement the yellow in the dress!

I’m also super picky when it comes to neutrals. I don’t know why I find it so hard to find colors that work with any outfit. I find some too pink, too brown, or too bland. As soon as I saw the tube for the L’Absolu Rouge 124 Rose Petale (Cream), I knew I might have found a new favorite neutral…and I was right! This one is going in my bag because it really goes well with my skin tone and with any look!

I can’t wait to continue building my lip wardrobe! What shades are a total must in yours?

HOLIDAY GIFT IDEA: The perfect beauty set

Saturday, November 4, 2017

Sponsored by Belk and ShopStyle. All opinions are my own.

My Oh My. The Holidays are right around the corner and I couldn’t be more excited. I love it everything about this time of the year: the decorations, the music, the smell, the parties…and of course, the gifting.

Every year I find myself buying all my Holiday gifts last-minute- NO MORE! It’s never too early to start thinking about Holiday gifts. I’ve noticed that I have a thing for gifting (and gifting myself) beauty products. Every woman deserves a little pampering AND you don’t have to worry about what size she is, if it’ll fit or if it’s her style.

I personally love gifting beauty sets, and I’m loving the variety of Beauty Sets that Belk is offering this season. You will find everything for every lovely woman in your life: for the mom who is all about skincare, the sister that could wear a different lipstick every day of the year, and your friend who collects perfumes ( I don’t know how or why but I basically fit in all those categories #Beautyobsessed for sure!)

But out of all the sets, there was one that instantly caught my eye because of it’s great value, and because it is such a high quality brand: the Lancôme Parisian Holiday Case.

Mother’s Day Special: Beauty Lessons passed from Mom

Monday, May 8, 2017 Miami, FL 33132, USA

Presented by Ulta Beauty. All opinions are my own. Thanks for supporting the brands that keep Nany’s Klozet going.

If you didn’t meet her in my Mother’s Day 2016 post, I want to introduce you to MY MOM- the most gorgeous woman ever…inside and out! I’m everything I am because of herAnd I’m so excited to partner with Ulta Beauty to share some beauty lessons that were passed from “mi mami” and some that I passed to her after becoming a blogger.

I'm not going to lie; when I was little, we probably fought every other day. The older I get, the more I understand her and the more I want to be half the woman she is, half the wife, half the mother, half the friend she is.

10 WAYS TO MAKE YOUR MORNING ROUTINE LESS IRRITATING

Wednesday, January 18, 2017

This post was sponsored by OPTI-FREE®. All opinions are my own.

I’m not naturally a morning person; I’m the type of person that prefers sleeping until noon. But we all know that the early bird gets the worm...so let’s start our mornings with a big smile on our face and try to make mornings less irritating.

1) A GOOD MORNING STARTS THE NIGHT BEFORE
If you can, do as much as you can the night before. You can plan your outfit, blow dry your hair, pre-prep breakfast, organize your bag, etc. This means no running around in the morning...and even sleeping more calmly because you know everything is ready to go as soon as you wake up.

2) STOP SNOOZING
We all do it: “5 more minutes PLEASE!!”; but this doesn’t help. Those 5 (then 10, and then 15) extra minutes of sleep are not enough...and they turn into stressing out about being late. Just be honest with yourself, set an attainable alarm, wake up instantly, and brush your teeth. The worst part of sleeping is waking up, so why do it many times a day!

3) EXERCISE IN THE MORNING
We have all been there. You get home from work and there are 1,000 excuses not to exercise...but what about doing it in the morning? Exercising in the morning gives you an extra dose of energy, will keep your stress level down...and it has been proven that doing cardio before breakfast is even more efficient for weight loss. You can also try sleeping in your workout clothes so as soon as you wake up, you are ready for a walk...and ready to conquer the world!

4) DRINK A FULL GLASS OF WATER
After a long night (6-8 hours) without water, your body is mildly dehydrated...this causes fatigue and irritation! If you are feeling too tired, what you might need is more water...as simple as that!

5) ELIMINATE ILF* Irritating Lens Face
I started wearing contacts 10 years ago. I put them on before applying makeup or heading out to exercise...and I take them out before removing makeup. I’m always looking for all-day comfort, nothing is as irritating as having dry, dirty or uncomfortable contact lenses. I’ve been using OPTI-FREE® Puremoist® for years now to clean and disinfect my contact lenses because it keeps my lenses comfortable and helps me prevent Irritating Lens Face (ILF).*
*ILF: a fun term to refer to the face you make when dry, dirty or uncomfortable contact lenses irritate your eye, resulting in winks, eye rolls, and general faces of discomfort that can really ruin a moment.

6) EAT A HEALTHY BREAKFAST
Just like #4, our body’s metabolism and blood sugar is at its lowest in the morning. Solution: a breakfast to re-energize us! Two easy breakfasts:
- Banana pancakes: mix one rip
ened banana with one egg and cinnamon and you have healthy pancakes with no flour! These are my favorite.

- Egg Frittatas: mix two eggs with your fave veggies and potatoes and put them in a cupcake holder.

Bake at 350°F until they turn golden...so delicious!

7) SLAY A 5-MINUTE BEAUTY/MAKEUP ROUTINE
You don’t have to be 45 minutes doing your makeup—makeup should be about enhancing your favorite features and not transforming your face.
For the everyday life, you don’t need more than 10 min. (hey, take as long as you need for that wedding you are attending next month!). Set up a small makeup kit for the everyday stuff so you don’t have to be looking for the products you want. It’s all about looking like you spent a lot of time when you actually didn’t. Go for bb cream, concealer where necessary, blush (leave contouring for special occasions), mascara, neutral shadows, brow powder, and brown eyeliner.

8) MORNING PLAYLIST
If you need a little something-something while getting ready, put some music on.

9) DAILY AFFIRMATION
Before starting your day, repeat a positive affirmation—something in your life you want to adjust, or replace. It can be a simple “I can do it” or “I’m grateful for my life”—but these affirmations help reduce cortisol levels by more than 40% during stressful situations.

10) REWARD YOURSELF
If you were able to wake up at least 5 minutes earlier, take those 5 minutes for yourself; maybe enjoy your coffee or tea while reading the news, try a new braid, or meditate by the bed. You deserve it!

Holiday Gift Guide 2016: Beauty

Tuesday, December 6, 2016

Happy Holidays everyone! How’s your Holiday shopping going?

This year I decided to bring back my Holiday gift guides. The past years I’ve always started with BEAUTY- why? Because they are basically the easiest gifts to give  since you don’t have to worry about sizing. But that doesn’t mean you can’t make every gift thoughtful and personalized.

Also these gifts are great for yourself- every Holiday I like gifting myself something special (I wrap it and everything). I believe that if you have been eyeing something for a while,  you worked hard to save for it, why not treat yourself too? You deserve it!

1. Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer
When I moved to the U.S, the first thing I bought was a hairdryer. I was 17 and I learned how to blow-dry my curls- a thing I still do at least every week.  As soon as I saw the Dyson Supersonic, I was drawn to it and I couldn’t wait to try it (and now I couldn’t wait to recommend it…this is the future in hairdryers!!).

The Dyson hairdryer is small and light (perfect for traveling), it dries ultra fast (which is important when you have as much hair as I do- now that I see how quick I can blow-dry my hair..I’m thinking about growing it out again!). It also has 3 speed settings (fast, regular, and gentle drying), and 4 precise heat settings (212F, 176F, 140F, and constant cold).

Holiday Party Ready…with Viva La Juicy

Thursday, December 1, 2016

Disclosure: This post was sponsored by Juicy Couture Fragrances through their partnership with POPSUGAR Select. While I was compensated to write a post about Viva La Juicy, all opinions are my own.

My fave season is here…the HOLIDAYS! I love everything about this season: the decorations, the music, the food, the gifting, and the parties. Oh the Holiday parties!

When I was little, I remember watching my mom in complete fascination while she got ready for Holiday parties…how she would wear her favorite dress, apply red lipstick, wear pretty jewels, and leave a trail of her perfume around her bedroom (This was the start of my healthy obsession with perfumes!)

I would wait until she was out of the house and I would sneak in her closet and play dress up and dream until the day I would be a grown up and do as she did. Fast-forward 20 years and here I am… still enjoying every step of getting ready to any big (or small) event. Reason why I’m so excited to partner today with Juicy Couture Fragrances and share how I get ready for a Holiday party.

Best of Beauty...with Allure

Wednesday, October 19, 2016

A couple of weeks ago I hosted at event with Allure at Bloomingdale's Aventura Mall celebrating their Best Of Beauty. I can't lie, I was a little nervous because the event started at 8:30am on a Saturday...yes you read right, very early in the morning! But it was the best way to start my weekend. Many fellow blogger friends attended the event and we were treated to mini makeover at the booths, mimosas and breakfast bites, and an incredible gift bag.

I had a blast testing this year's Allure Best of Beauty Products and I want to tell some of the products I got and some I can't wait to try!

Thanks to Allure for partnering on this post...and thanks again to my sweet girls for attending the event and giving me so much love!

Current Mood: Fearless...with Sephora

Monday, October 17, 2016

Just like fashion, beauty is a way to express how you feel, how you are, and who you want to be. I love how beauty has the power to make your feel confident; triumphant. I love the power of a red lipstick, and the inner confidence the right smoky eye can give.
Personally, I have been feeling fearless- because fear is the only thing between you and your goals. So, today I’m partnering with Sephora Collection  and how the line can empower you to get what you want no matter the occasion.
My go to makeup is a classic cat eye with a red or dark lip (you can see a step by step tutorial I did with Sephora Collection a couple of weeks ago by clicking here).  But today I decided to switch things up a little bit. I did a smokier cat-eye with navy blue and a little bit of bronze.

“I want ______” with Sephora Collection

Monday, October 3, 2016

Finishing the phrase “I want ____” is extremely hard for me.
I want to get out of my comfort zone.
I want to travel the world.
I want to continue dreaming big and reaching my goals.
I want to express who I am through fashion and beauty

I always talk that we should forget about the superficial side of fashion and makeup…it should be fun, it should be a way to express how you feel and you should always change it up.
