HOLIDAY OUTFITS AND HOLIDAY SHOPPING with Nordstrom

Thursday, November 28, 2019

This post is sponsored by Nordstrom and ShopStyle

Growing up in Venezuela, we didn’t really celebrate thanksgiving. When I moved to the U.S, it was instantly a Holiday that I liked celebrating because it reminds us to stay thankful, to revisit the year, and remember the good while spending it with family and loved ones.

I married a Puertorican, and they do celebrate Thanksgiving…their own way. The dishes are a bit different, but oh-so yummy. So I’ve learned that I have to be prepared for the most delicious eating. That’s why this dress from Topshop I got at Nordstrom was perfect for the occasion; it is roomy but it is still very cute; family appropriate but young and fun; and easy to layer if you live in colder weather.

Walking by Nordstrom, I had to get this green velvet handbag (similar here) with the chunky chain- it brings the greens in the floral dress and it is also perfect for the Holidays.

Last touches? The HONEY earrings and the fisherman hat.   I think they really bring the whole look together

You all know that I love matching with my little boy, even if we are in the same color palette. He was also very comfortable in his corduroy pants and grey sweater by Tucker + Tate, also from Nordstrom.

Also, did you already get your Holiday shopping done? I still have to buy everyone’s Christmas gifts. Nordstrom has their own curated gift guide section with categories like “Gifts Under $100” or “Gifts For Him”. Here are a few of my ideas for what to get:

FOR YOUR LITTLE ONES

FOR YOUR BEAUTY OBSESSED FRIEND-COUSIN

FOR A GUY IN YOUR LIFE

Nordstrom is having their Cyber Sale happening now! Make sure to check it out here to get up to 50% off.

Friendsgiving...with Stella Artois

Wednesday, November 23, 2016

When you live away from home, your friends become your family. Reason why, even though everyone is spending the actual Thanksgiving with family, we wanted to do a dinner together, celebrate, and feel thankful. I love hosting parties and having people over at our place...reason why I was excited to partner with Stella Artois again this Holiday season and treat my friends to dinner and drinks.

The party planning process started with the decorations. To get in the Holiday mood; my husband, my cousin (who is living with us at the moment) and I took out the Christmas decoration and spent the day putting garlands everywhere around the house. We also took out our small Christmas tree (hey, I wish I had the space for an actual, and huge, tree). After that, I was so inspired I got little wreath pieces for the plates, gold silverware, and  paper Christmas trees as name tags for the dinner table. Then it was time to cook, I'm not the best cook or baker- but my cousin and I baked the most delicious gingerbread cookies and decorated them too.

The drink star of the night: Stella Artois.  I always have Stella Artois beer at home and it's always a hit, especially with the guys.  But to take this dinner/party to the next level,  I was excited to try their new Cidre- it's sophisticated, dry, not to sweet, delicious, perfect for the gals... someone has a new favorite (hint: me!).

Are you hosting a party this Holiday season? I hope this inspires you treat your friends and have them over...because life is too short to not celebrate every second of it! Cheers!

Thanksgiving: HAPPY ELFIN' HOLIDAY

TARGET ugly sweater
FUROR MODA white skirt
SHOEDAZZLE black booties
H&M necklace
TARGET bag
FOREVER 21 hat
Bracelets: BCBG, Cartier, Jeweliq & Michael Kors

A couple of weeks ago, I finally found a ticket to go to Venezuela for the wedding of one of my closest friends. The tickets are so expensive that I decided to stay the whole month of December. Reason why Thanksgiving ended up being extra special. It started early at midnight when a group of friends came to my house for an "ugly/Christmas sweater" christmas. We had so much fun until the sun came out. After that I headed to a Thanksgiving lunch with Gabo's family; I have mentioned before how delicious it is! After recovering from the food coma, I headed to an event for Abercrombie that I was hosting for Black friday.

2013 has been a crazy year...full of emotions, big decisions, bigger opportunities, and even bigger happiness.  I feel extremely thankful and blessed!

I found this sweater at Target's men section... and I had to have it! Even the whole "ugly sweater party" theme was an excuse to wear it. Gabo also found one with skulls wearing Christmas hats! Here's the link with all the sweaters; there's also one with a nutcracker that says "let's get cracking". Even though it's a men's sweater, you can add super feminine pieces to make it girly!

How was your Thanksgiving weekend!!?

_______

Me siento extremadamente agradecida y afortunada.

So thankful... THANKSGIVING!

Thursday, November 22, 2012

I never post an outfit the exact same day I wore it, I don't know I like to save them. However, to stay relevant and in the Thanksgiving spirit...here it is! I'm so thankful for so many reasons; I'm healthy, my family is healthy, I have the most amazing family, boyfriend and friends....but I also want to thank each and every one of you for being so amazing with me. In Venezuela, where I was raised, we don't celebrate this holiday...it's more about Christmas. But the past couple of years, I've had the opportunity to spend this day with my boyfriend's family... very Puertorican Thanksgivings ( and you have no idea how delicious the food is!). Today we spent the whole day with them and  we ate like there was no tomorrow.

Let's talk about my outfit- it was a little chilly in Miami so I wanted to wear something kind of cozy. Also, I've been into darker colors lately... I really wanted to wear black to make the shoes pop (I absolutely love them, I think they are my favorite pair of the moment). I finished the look with gold accessories and my dream Chanel Bag. I got it a while ago and I don't wear it as often because "I want it to be in perfect condition"- but that doesn't make any sense, I saved so much in my first job and for so long to buy it... that the least thing I can do is wear it! So you'll see it more often! I hope you had an amazing THANKSGIVING! xoxo

____________

Besos y abrazos grandototes!

Thanksgiving lunch!

This is my sixth "Thanksgiving" in the US- and I'm still not used to celebrating it. But who needs a excuse to celebrate and eat AMAZING food? The past three years, I have spent thanksgiving with my boyfriend's family and they are from Puerto Rico- so the food and traditions are more puertorican than american. My bf's mom cooks delicious, as you can see on the pics below.. everything looks (and was) SO good! After having an early dinner- or more like a lunch- we passed out for a couple of hours! Then at night we went to the movies to see Breaking Dawn (I'm not a Twilight freak but I did enjoy the books- specially the last one so my expectations were high!). Do you celebrate thanksgiving? If you do, I hope you had an amazing one! Anyways.. HAPPY FRIDAY! xoxo

¿Celebran thanksgiving? ¿CĂłmo la pasaron? FELIZ VIERNES! :)
