From Loungewear to Every-day

This partnership with Zella, Nordstrom’s in-house lifestyle brand, has been so fun- especially because I get to show you the cutest and comfiest loungewear- especially if you are like me and you are lucky enough to work from home in these times.

But as we are learning to live with this new normal, I wanted to show you some ways you can “spice up” your loungewear and make it the cutest outfit for a date outdoors, run some errands…just add your favorite mask and you are ready to go.

 The Crewneck Sweatshirt

I’m wearing this crewneck sweatshirt all the time- which comes in a few colors! I mostly wear it at home with its matching shorts (and if you love joggers, the matching joggers are available too).

To wear it out and about, just add your favorite jeans! I wanted to feel a little dressier so I added the booties, but you can definitely wear your favorite sneakers and it’s such a perfect look for errands.

 THE LOUNGE LEGGINGS

These leggings are super soft but they hug your curves. You can wear them to work out (here I paired them with the Rhythm Sports Bra- best for low impact like yoga), to lounge around (they are also featured in the lounge look with the hoodie!), and they look amazing with some boots, a cute tee  (here I am wearing the the washed tie Dye Studio T shirt ) and a leather jacket- perfect for those days you want to be comfortable but still look cute!

THE MEN'S HOODIE

My husband wore this hoodie in the previous post we did with Zella BUT I have a weakness for men’s hoodies. The fit is a little longer and roomier.  As mentioned, I first wore it with the lounge leggings . Then for the dressier look, I just added some biker shorts and over the knee boots! I think this might be my favorite look!

I prefer to shop online, BUT sometimes I can’t wait! When I shop at Nordstrom , I click the option for “free pickup” at my closest local store!

Nordstrom is also having free shipping and returns, and you can sign up to become a member of The Nordy Club by clicking HERE and enjoy exclusive perks like members-only access to sales and events.

Couple Matching in Zella

You have to check out my previous post wearing Zella. It is Nordstrom’s in-house lifestyle brand. In the first one, I got a few performance leggings that I completely loved. Then I got some fun tie-dye that is perfect to be around the house.

As soon as my husband saw me trying on the things I got from Zella- he asked “Do they have men’s clothes too?” And he got a bit excited when I told him YESS!!

So this month, I went on a mission to get us comfy matching outfits!

HE’S WEARING

He is wearing the Pyrite Slim Fit Pocket Jogger- they are super versatile since he can wear them to work out in cooler days or with fun shirts for an off-duty look.

He paired it with the Tie Dye Men’s Hoodie- so soft, made from a cotton-blend fleece, perfect for the Miami Winter days where you only need a cozy hoodie.

I’M WEARING

You can never go wrong with black leggings- the Soft Pocket Lounge Leggings are my favorite to work out and lounge around.

To match with Gabe I went for the Jamie Ink Print Crewneck Sweater, it comes in several colors…it was hard to pick my favorite but I went for the blue one. It is adorable!

Just a little reminder that Nordstrom  has curbside pickup. I like ordering online and then I pick it up without even having to leave my car or open my door.

LIFESTYLE: How to stay active as a working new-mom

Friday, September 7, 2018

This post was sponsored by Athleta. All opinions are my own. I'm excited to challenge myself to #WorkInYourWorkout by infusing a workout into my workday and wearing Athleta's new commute line.

I've been getting a lot of questions on how to stay active as a new mom who is also self-employed. The answer is easy (but not necessarily easy to apply in real life): squeeze in your workouts whenever you can!

I'm currently trying to exercise 5 days of the week with 2 cardio session and 3 sessions of 30min interval training (it's supposed to be high intensity, but I'm taking it slowly since....hey! It still feels like it was yesterday that I had a baby).

Since I work from home, I try to do the interval training in the living room with Nico by my side (sometimes when is taking his morning nap and other times he is just entertained by my squats and push-ups).  Also, if he is by the activity gym  I do planks right by him or maybe I'll do some squats with a 14-pound baby as extra weight.

Being a freelancer also includes meeting with potential clients or colleagues for coffee or lunch.  So instead of driving like everyone in Miami, I've been trying to schedule my meetings around town in order to #WorkInMyWorkout by biking to them!! It ends up being a win-win situation: I workout, I work, and I save money and time by not having to spend 15 minutes finding an expensive parking spot.

However, heading to a meeting in workout gear might look unprofessional. Reason why I'm loving how Athleta is using multi-functional performance fabrics that work from an active commute to a workday.

Here I'm wearing the Marinwood Striped Shirt; it's a classic white button-down shirt but it's lightweight and airy, perfect for biking in Miami and still looking put-together. I paired the shirt with the Hybrid Cargo Tight; it sits at the natural waist and it's very flattering. It also has 6 pockets to keep all essentials handy.  I love when brands offer petite (and tall) sizing; the fit is so much better and you save an errand to the tailor!
Since at the end, it was a fashion meeting, I added statement pieces like the hat and the clear aviators.

Join me and #WorkInYourWorkOut!!-
- You can do like me and bike to work or to a meeting.
- Maybe do wall sit-ups or planks during a work call.
- You can do a quick Yoga session in the conference room during lunch break.

GET THE LOOK

More than fitness, it’s a lifestyle..with JCPenney Active

Thursday, January 26, 2017

I love January, it’s the first chapter of new beginnings. I love setting goals and really pushing myself to achieve them. Last year I started working out, I went above and beyond my goals and I worked out at least 5 days of the week- the whole year! (yes, I’m proud).

Reason why I’m excited to partner this new year with JCPenney to get in the mindset that being active doesn’t mean fitness, it’s a lifestyle…you can be active in your everyday life- it doesn’t matter if it’s a hardcore HIIT class or if you are walking the dog for 30 minutes. Your body will thank you; even if it’s just  for 10 minutes, your body will thank you…#SoWorthIt.

To stay extra motivated I got some fun workout pieces from JCPenney- there were many affordable on-trend items but I went for some colorful leggings, matching sportsbra and shoes, and a cool sweatshirt that says “This is what Fierce Looks Like”. All these pieces worked perfectly from the gym to a casual run around the park. JCPenney is continuing its partnership with the YMCA. This January, become a new Y member during Jan 15-31, get bounceback JCP coupon on Active/Xersion!

While in Ecuador, I basically lived in my brother’s gym (yay to family businesses). I did as many classes as possible. My favorite was the Functional Gym, my body was so sore the day after…I think it still is. My Active Goals for 2017 is running the extra mile (literally and figuratively). I want to push myself; lift more, run faster,, become stronger.

What’s your active goal for 2017?

Confidence Confessions…with Aerie

Thursday, October 15, 2015

Two years ago, I was getting ready to do a photo shoot that I was really excited about… until I saw the photographer’s portfolio. Why? He loved photoshopping girls to the extreme. To the point where they looked like aliens (and that’s without getting into how he would ask girls to drop 30 pounds before he “could” shoot them).

For a moment I felt like I wasn’t enough—hey, I’m just 5’1 and I have curves, nowhere near his “model standards.” But I realized I wasn’t going to let him do that. I told him: “You are not photoshopping me. This is who I am, this is how I look. I love my body, I love MY REAL SELF.”

One of the reasons I love the #AerieReal campaign is that it features
unretouched images. The campaign has images of Emma Roberts looking gorgeous and most importantly, REAL. Like she shared on the Aerie site: “There’s nothing cooler or more beautiful than being yourself.”

Holiday comfy with UGG® Australia

Tuesday, December 17, 2013

ABERCROMBIE leggings
ABERCROMBIE denim top
DANIELLE NICOLE  bag
BONLOOK eyeglasses
 H&M infinity scarf
SVELTE METALS cuff
ROMWE gray sweater

Hey girls! A lot of you have been asking for Holiday and colder weather outfits, and here it is: a comfy but still cute outfit for cold days! I feel like this look is perfect to spend time with our family by the fireplace after eating a delicious Holiday meal or just to be warm while running some quick errands around the city.

During the colder months, it is very important to invest in a pair of boots that will keep our feet very warm; the Classic Cardy boot from UGG® Australia is the perfect option. Also, the gray color of the boot is extremely versatile: it’s a neutral color that will go great with everything in your winter wardrobe. This time, I paired the boots with some comfy leggings, an oversized denim top, a warm sweater, and an infinity scarf (and well, my eyeglasses because being comfy means wearing no contacts).

How do you stay warm during the winter?

________
