More than fitness, it’s a lifestyle..with JCPenney Active

Thursday, January 26, 2017

I love January, it’s the first chapter of new beginnings. I love setting goals and really pushing myself to achieve them. Last year I started working out, I went above and beyond my goals and I worked out at least 5 days of the week- the whole year! (yes, I’m proud).

Reason why I’m excited to partner this new year with JCPenney to get in the mindset that being active doesn’t mean fitness, it’s a lifestyle…you can be active in your everyday life- it doesn’t matter if it’s a hardcore HIIT class or if you are walking the dog for 30 minutes. Your body will thank you; even if it’s just  for 10 minutes, your body will thank you…#SoWorthIt.

To stay extra motivated I got some fun workout pieces from JCPenney- there were many affordable on-trend items but I went for some colorful leggings, matching sportsbra and shoes, and a cool sweatshirt that says “This is what Fierce Looks Like”. All these pieces worked perfectly from the gym to a casual run around the park. JCPenney is continuing its partnership with the YMCA. This January, become a new Y member during Jan 15-31, get bounceback JCP coupon on Active/Xersion!

While in Ecuador, I basically lived in my brother’s gym (yay to family businesses). I did as many classes as possible. My favorite was the Functional Gym, my body was so sore the day after…I think it still is. My Active Goals for 2017 is running the extra mile (literally and figuratively). I want to push myself; lift more, run faster,, become stronger.

What’s your active goal for 2017?

Summer? What Summer?

See? I didn't lie when I said I was going to start pretending it was fall before I could theoretically start pretending IS fall. At the end, wearing the boots now in Miami and in October is basically the same thing. I thought they were the perfect complement for my outfit and it felt as hot as wearing jeans (well, that was my excuse for wearing them "it's just as wearing jeans, and you are wearing jeans". I wore this to go celebrate #nationaltequiladay with some friends at a bar. I'm honestly not a fan of #nationaldays...they are getting a little out of hand! Today was #NationalWatermelonday and last week #nationallipstickday and all I could think was ... "so why do we need to celebrate watermelon and lipstick?". Don't get me wrong, I love watermelon and give me lipstick any day of the week...but they are getting a little crazy! let me know what you thought of the look and your take on the crazy National days! XOXO

¡BESOS

BRIGHT layering...

Tuesday, April 30, 2013

DENIMOCRACY pink jeggings (c/o)
JCPENNY polka dot sweater.
SHEINSIDE white moto jacket (c/o)
FOREVER 21 diy two-tone pumps
H&M necklace
MYBAG.NET classic black bag (c/o)
FOREVER 21 black coat
H&M beanie

I feel like I went a little overboard with planning outfits so I would always have content while being in NYC- we took this pictures while I was packing and I actually wore it during my second week of internship with black flats. My idea was having outfits with several layers so I could adapt them depending on the weather (when I wore it was still cold; but nowadays, I would wear it without the beanie and without the big black coat). I almost re-wore it to take pictures with it in NYC because there's something I don't love about the photos...but whatever- what's done is done. When I wore this look I felt like a fish out of the water...I feel like most of the people in NYC wouldn't wear colors this bright until the actual summer. But it was fun to step away from the typical NYC black/white. Have an amazing day! XOXO

Sunday FUN-DAY!

Photobucket

Here comes a post FULL of pictures from a day at the pool- I think I've mentioned how I want to start going more often to the beach/pool (specially because this weather is begging to live close to the water). So on Sunday, without any plans, we headed to the pool- I guess we had the same idea as another 100 families that wanted to enjoy the last day before school started. We spent all the afternoon there, we took food, water, sunscreen, books, magazines, etc. This time I wanted to wear my new La Belle Rebelle retro swimsuit; I feel like all the Hispanic women at the pool, who are used to the brazilian little  bikini, were staring at me like "what's wrong with her!!" but I absolutely love my retro bikini, it's so different and it has an old-hollywood vibe! If you like this silhouette but you are scared of the tan lines, it's simple: wear sunscreen!! (It's always better to use self-tanners or to be a little pale while preventing skin cancer). My outfit to go to the pool was very basic, I basically grabbed the 1st things I saw: jean shorts, crochet top, bright small bag just for the wallet and club ID, and my fedora. I hope you liked this extremely long post! XOXO

__________

Purple contrast!

Beginning Boutique peplum top --- JC Penney white jeans --- LoveShoppingMiami heels --- Mimi Boutique bag

Peplum is definitely one of my favorite trends this season- it can be worn several ways, it's very feminine and it gives you the right curves (specially if you have a rectangular body- also, if you have an inverted triangle body, I totally recommend peplum skirts; they balance your body by giving the illusion of hips and a smaller waist). This time I decided to wear my light celeste top with simple white jeans and a couple of turquoise details in the bag and earrings. Since the outfit was very "white" , we wanted to find a colored wall to make the outfit pop more. We went to Midtown Miami, which is full of fun walls and graffitis- as soon as I saw this purple wall, I was in LOVE! After having a late lunch, I stopped at Furor Moda's place to check out this week's new items! Hope you liked this look and that you are having an amazing weekend!

___________

Big dots

Thursday, August 2, 2012

Photobucket

I feel like I've done this combo a thousando of times; but I really love how classic "white, black and red" is. This time I wanted to pair a polka dotted top (big big dots) with simple black skirt and I added pops of red in the belt, bag, and lipstick. I wanted to be comfortable so I forgot about wearing heels and  wore my favorite black loafers. I wore this to go to my Wednesday class (minus the red lipstick) and then I went to the movies with my boyfriend to watch "Step up: Revolution". I really liked the movie- I was a dancer for many years so I'm up for anything with cool choreographies. As you can see, I've been wearing my hair up in a bun for the past week- it's impossible to control it with the humidity in Miami! I hope you liked this combo! XOXO

___________

Two Toned

Sunday, July 1, 2012

Photobucket

Hey everyone! Here's a quick post about what I wore on Friday- originally, I wanted to wear white shorts... and oh boy, I regretted it; it was one of the hottest days in Miami in a while. I basically did my outfit around this two-toned tank from Blaque Muse- which I love because it's a way to incorporate color-blocking in your wardrobe without being so "in your face". Also, I'm planning on wearing it with high-waisted bottoms so it turns into a simple navy tank. I paired it with white jeans, gold accessories, and a leopard-print watch. This is the perfect outfit to go have lunch with your friends or go to the movies! I hope you had an amazing weekend! XOXO

Hola a todas!
