As promised, here’s another hairstyle inspired New York Fashion Week. This time I’m recreating the incredible braids seen at the Rachel Zoe F/W 2016 presentation.
I love braids…reason why as soon as I saw this hairstyle online and all over social media, I said “I have to this one!!”. These two fishtail braids turn into one…such a cool twist to the braid trend (PLUS if you know how to do a fish tail braid, this one will be easy piecey). Marco Peña, TRESemmé stylist and one of my personal faves, gave me all the extra tricks to achieve this look just like at Rachel Zoe’s presentation.

So here’s how to do it:
1) Start prepping your hair with the right shampoo and conditioner. I recommend TRESemmé Botanique Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner. It smells delicious and you will feel how it moisturizes your hair without weighting it down.
2) You can do this hairstyle with straight, curly, or wavy hair….it’s up to you. You can also make the braids as messy as you want. I went for a sleeker look by braiding my hair with straight hair…I feel it looks edgier with straight hair, and a little more romantic with waves. But again, this is completely up to you.
3) Do a center part and section off the front portions of hair on both sides.
4) Create two fishtail braids along both sides (Here’s an easy tutorial on how to do fishtail braids). You can also leave out a few face-framing pieces for a messier look. Secure them both with an elastic
5) Gather both braids on the back and merge them into a single braid. Secure them with an elastic.
6) Open the braids with your fingers to widen the braids.
7) Mist the BOTANIQUE Damage Recovery Oil Elixir for an extra dosis of shine on your ends.
This hairstyle works for so many ocassions. It can give an edge to a simple look for the every- day woman, it goes perfectly with a spring boho look, or even for a sexy night out. You have to try this look…and if you do! Tag me and TRESemmé, we would love to see it! XOXO
