If I had to choose one word to describe our trip to Puerto Rico, it would be: RELAXATION!
We got there at night on the 30th; then we spent the last day of 2014 by the beach/pool and just chilling. As you can see, Chiki came with us. We haven't traveled with him in a while- I wish I could take it to Venezuela but the traveling with a pet on international flights is more complicated than it sounds (so many crazy requirements). He had so much fun running on the beach with me. And yessss, I'm wearing boots on the sand: I do it all the time, it's not that bad. I don't get sand in my feet (or I can take them off easily, no biggie).
This pineapple tee was featured recently from our trip to Punta Cana in November; but I feel this looks is completely different while still fun and beachy.

¡Puerto Rico fue de descanso TOTAL!
Llegamos el 30 en la tardecita…pero al día siguiente fuimos un ratito en la playa, luego a la piscina, y en la tarde peiné a la hermana de Gabo porque el le iba a tomar unas fotos. Después nos arreglamos para recibir el año en familia y fue todo muy tranquilo y familiar.
Como pueden ver, nos llevamos a Chiki a Puerto Rico- nos gustaría poder llevarlo a Venezuela cuando vamos, pero cuando se trata de vuelos internacionales es más complicado. Estuvimos un rato con el corriendo en la playa…el estaba encantado. Seguro que se preguntaran que porque tengo puestas botas en la playa…bueno (1) no fue mala idea porque no me llené todos los pies de arena, (2) estábamos paseando y paramos un ratito en ahí, y (3) lo hago seguido ya que de todas siempre termino quitándome los zapatos al pisar la arena.
La camisa de piñas la vieron hace poco del viaje a Punta Cana…quise hacer una combinación totalmente diferente pero igual veraniega con esta camisa. Por eso agregué unos shorts blancos, la chaqueta militar, y el sombrero vino.

The days in Mérida, Venezuela flew by!!
I wore this for our car trip back from Mérida - which is around 10 hours long so comfiness is a MUST. This high waisted jeans feel like leggings…so I guess they are in theory "jeggings" - they were the perfect option to sleep in the car. I paired it with a simple tee, a chunky sweater, and a light scarf (from a venezuelan brand called Kalon). I wasn't planning on taking pics, but the scenery was too pretty (hello sunglasses to hide my sleepy face and dark under eye circles).
As I have mentioned, we regularly don't do that many stops but we wanted Gabe to see as much as possible. On our way back, we stopped to eat at this gorgeous restaurant in the middle of the mountains (and the food was SO SO SO delicious). While we waited for the food, we had a lot of fun riding horses.
I'm back home in Miami…so get ready for some pictures from Puerto Rico and then back to the regular outfit posting! Enjoy the pics! XOXO

¡Los días en Mérida volaron!!
Este look lo utilicé para el viaje de regreso…les recuerdo que son alrededor de 10 horas, así que la comodidad es primordial. Estos jeans son como leggings de lo cómodo…supongo que en teoría son "jeggings". Los combiné con una camiseta blanca, un suéter gris, y una bufanda ligera de ojitos (de una marca venezolana que conocí hace poco llamada Kalon).
Como les mencioné, quisimos hacer paradas extras para que Gabo conociera lo más posible. De regreso nos paramos en este restaurante bellísimo en la montaña (donde por cierto comimos exquisito!!) y mientras esperábamos la comida, dimos un pequeño paseo en caballo. De resto lo que hice fue dormir (y jurar que perdí una botita jaja).
¡Ya estoy de regreso en Miami…así que pronto empiezan las fotos de Puerto Rico y luego regresamos a la normalidad! ¡ABRAZOS!!!

I've worn this exact outfit SEVERAL times in the past month…I even had to check to make sure we have not taken pictures of it before. It is one of those extremely-comfy outfits that I kept wearing it on days we didn't want to take pictures. Knowing Mérida's perfect fall-ish weather, I took it with me and we finally took pictures with it there. Taking about what I took to Venezuela…I always take tons of shoes, bags, and outfit combos just in case I'm not feeling what I planned. As usual, I ended up using 1/10 of what I took- I even wore this ankle booties WAY more than expected there (funny story: I thought I lost one of the them during the road trip. One of them disappear and I blamed Gaby of losing it when he got out to go to the bathroom…but after we finally arrived in Caracas, it was there ahha).
Back to the trip, we stayed at the same place that we did 3 years ago- you can even see my looks from 2011 here, here, y here. As I have mentioned, my family is very big and we like getting together every Holiday in hotel where we can spend time, play games, and just enjoy each other's company. This year, we even had an itinerary with activities and games (yes, we are one of those haha).

Este look lo he utilizado TANTAS pero tantas veces que tuve que revisar si le habíamos tomado fotos alguna vez. Es de esas combinaciones tan cómodas que la he usado mucho en los "días de descanso" del blog. Pero esta vez, conociendo el clima de Mérida, me la quise llevar y aprovechar y tomar fotos usándolo allá. Hablando de lo que me llevé, me llevé muchísimos looks y apenas estuvimos una semana en Venezuela. Me llevé muchísimos zapatos y carteros, y si se fijan…he estado usando estos botines en los últimos posts muchísimo (que por cierto les cuento que juré que se me había caído uno de los zapatos durante el viaje, porque al llegar a Caracas no lo encontrábamos en el carro maja).
Este año fuimos a la misma posada que fuimos hace 3 años- y que pueden ver los looks del 2011 en el mismo sitio haciendo click acá, acá, y acá. Como les he comentado, mi familia es bastante grande y tenemos de tradición reunirnos todos los años. Para disfrutar y compartir mejor, generalmente nos reunimos en posadas o en algún hotel donde podamos hacer actividades a cualquier hora (si, somos de esos con cronograma y juegos programados por hora…parecemos un semi-campamento)

My family is from a small city in Venezuela called Mérida; which is located in the beginning of the Andes Mountains. To get to the city, which is 10 hours away from Caracas, you have to go up and down a huge mountain. I'm used to this long trip, I've been going there since I was a newborn and I can sleep the whole way without any problem. However, this time we were with Gabe and we wanted to show him as much as possible. He has been to Venezuela a couple of times and he has been to Merida before but we flew instead in 2007. We stopped a couple of times, including my favorite stop: The Mucubají Lagoon (which means "Place with Big Water" in the local indigenous language). The weaner was perfect for a jacket and a scarf..and the backdrop was perfect for pics! I hope you love them as much as we do! XOXO

Mi familia es de una ciudad en Venezuela llamada Mérida- la cual queda en la Cordillera de los Andes. Para llegar a la ciudad hay que subir y bajar una montaña…el páramo es siempre mi parte favorita de ese viaje de 10 horas. Yo estoy muy acostumbrada a este viaje largo en carro; generalmente duermo todo el camino como si nada. Pero esta vez íbamos con Gabo; primera vez que Gabo iba a Mérida en carro (fuimos juntos en el 2007 por la Copa América pero en avión y solo por un día y medio); razón por la cual hicimos varias paradas para que el conociera lo más posible.
Una de mis paradas favoritas es la Laguna de Mucubají- Mucubají significa "Sitio de Agua Grande" en el dialecto indigena del area. Aprovechamos el clima y lo lindo de lugar para tomar un par de fotos.

FIRST POST of 2015!!!!
Even though it was taking during Christmas (whoops!!). I have a feeling that 2015 is going to be amazing and I wish you all a year full of health, happiness, love, new friends, new adventures, etc
I wore this in Venezuela..I had a terrible fever during Christmas eve and I ended up modifying this look ( we were staying at the mountains and it got very cold at night). I added black tights, a sweater, and a black scarf I stole from my mom's bag.

Este look lo utilicé en Venezuela el 24 de diciembre…ese día me sentía malísimo y con la fiebre que tenía, me estaba congelando en la montaña. Tanto así que tuve que modificar este look y agregarle medias pantys y un suéter (luego hasta la quité la bufanda a mi mama). Pero el último día ya me sentía mejor y quisimos recrear los looks de esos días en el páramo de Mérida.
