Chiki has been in our lives for over 10 years. He has been with me through college, grad-school, marriage...and now he is the best with our baby. Just like he has been the best pup ever; I, as a loving pet parent, want the best for him!
Reason why I was so excited for him to try (and LOVE) Freshpet’s natural and healthy dog food. I love how they are committed to providing the best for pets; Freshpet uses fresh, whole ingredients, and gently cooked without preservatives or additives. The food is kept refrigerated because THAT’s where meats belong!
I knew that Chiki was going to love it…what I didn’t know was HOW MUCH! Taking these pics was such a fun challenge because he kept doing all the tricks he knows (trick = delicious reward!). Then as soon as I filled his plate with the “Fresh From The Kitchen”, he devoured it so fast that we had to refill it to get make sure we got the right shot. I mean, I’m sure he didn’t complain.
We are excited to have incorporated Freshpet into his diet; it gives me peace of mind that Chiki doesn’t have by-products, corn, wheat nor any artificial colors or flavors. You can actually see the real fruits and veggies..and smell the fresh chicken!
You can find Freshpet in the refrigerated section of your local grocery store. Click here to learn more!
Ok. By now you all know how much I love #ChikiTheMaltese💓🐶; and leaving him alone the whole day to be at the beach breaks my heart. Reason why over the years, I've found some great dog-friendly beaches in South Florida: Hobie Beach and Haulover Beach are great. 🚙🚙
A couple of weeks ago, we decided to go to Islamorada. It's a few hours away from Miami but definitely worth it! All the beaches heading to Islamorada are great spots, you can park right in front of it with everything you need! Besides some snacks and drinks, I brought this float that Chiki absolutely loved!
He got in the water no problem, swam to me and we were hanging in the float for a while. Then he was like "mom, let's just go home". So much fun! We also ate on the way, I need to stop writing down places because I might remember when my clothes from 2008 is from, but not restaurants.
Hope you like the pics! Chiki says HI!!!
p.d: my set from Honey Bum is on sale!! Get it for just $32!
I got Chiki in 2008, after a long crazy internet search (and after almost getting scammed a few times). I love being a "fur mama", it has thought me so many things about life and about myself. Today I'm going to share 10 random "Chiki" stories.
1. I support adoption 100%, and I know my next pup will be adopted. I guess when I was 18 I was naive and I didn't think adoption first. However, I was very against "pet-shops". I wanted a dog that came from a good home, not treated as a product in a store. So yes, I bought him (but as the frugal gal I am, I got him for a great price, AND from a good home)
2. I had the option to pick between him and two other boys. One was crazy, bitting my hair and jumping around. The other was hiding underneath the sofa (super shy!). Chiki was in between, and he is still the most perfect dog in the whole world.
3. In my previous home, I used to live by a lake where we would take him to play. When he was a puppy: one time he ran following some ducks and he ended up in the lake. I'm never going to forget his face, he was so confused (he had no idea how or why he got wet).
4. His name is Chiki but originally his name was "Yogi", yes like Yogi the bear. He was so tiny that we would called him "Chiquito" and it just stuck
5. The first time I bathed him I couldn't stopped laughing. He looked like a little rat. He still hates bathes, but he hates the blow-dryer even more.
6. I always dreamed of keeping one of his puppies. However, all the female dogs we met were neutered so he never had puppies. We got him neutered last year because he was starting to suffer from the prostate (for exactly that, not being busy enough in the sexy department).
7. He only plays with two toys. A ball and a plush dog that he humps. The ball is like his girlfriend, if he can't find it he goes crazy (we have tried giving him other balls, nope, that's the one he wants!)
8. He is the most friendly dog ever. Since we travel a lot for work, we have to leave him with friends and family- and some of our friends fight to take care of him. However, he gets very jealous if there are other dogs around, and he doesn't understand little kids (or why they pet him so weirdly haha).
9. He has given us a few scares. One time he swallowed something plastic that got stuck in his intestines and he could have died if we had waited a few more days to take him to the vet.
10. When he was little, he would wake me up to take him out. Now he just LOVES to cuddle. If he sees that I'm waking up, he just gets closer so I can cuddle him. It's the cutest thing ever.
Do you have a dog? a pet? Tell me something fun or cute about them!

Our Miami “winters” are short and sweet… and our summers are hot and humid (in a good way…can you imagine not being able to enjoy the gorgeous Miami beaches because it was cold or gloomy?). I love being able to go to the beach and spend time outdoors because of our great all-year weather. They say people get more social in the summertime (because of all the fun outdoor activities), maybe that’s why people in Miami are so warm and friendly!
Yes, yes...I'm a little behind looks-wise! I've been slowly trying to update the blog more and more to catch up. I should have uploaded this look while I was in Los Angeles for We All Grow. However, it was such a busy time that I didn't have time to stop and write. I could be more organized and have post scheduled ahead of time, but I like sitting down and writing in real time.
I wore this at the end of February...when Miami's weather was a little bit cooler. I'm wearing two pieces of the Who What Wear Collection for Target..and this look can actually be seen on the official TV commercial (I have to say I thought about it before seeing it haha).
Instead of adding a black bag as I would have normally done, I added this mustard bag part of the limited edition Coach 1941 collection. I'm in love with the Coach revamp-...the new creative director is killing it.
Tomorrow I'll be in Dallas for Beauty Con, so if you are there and want to stop by I'll be at booth #26 by the stage. XOXO
¡BESOS!
Here comes another 5 random thing Sunday!
1. Since I was little I have been fascinated over everything ghost-related. When I was little I would love horror stories and as a tween I started understanding that I felt the presence of something…it never freaked me out and I'm actually bummed that it's something that I suppressed instead of developing it. Last night we went out to a housewarming party. a friend just moved to a 1920s house and we were kidding about it is obviously haunted. When we were leaving around 1 am I looked up the stairs and I definitely felt something ( and everyone got chills down their spine). Gaby joking tried taking a picture and the camera kept trying to focus on something in the dark (the camera has a good face recognition feature!). crazy!!
2 This week i got one of the most exciting emails I've ever gotten.. an opportunity to work with a brand I love and it's really a dream! I cannot say much yet and it doesn't make sense that I'm using one of my random things for this because I can really say much but I'm just so excited and it feels like a mother opportunity to thank you for always supporting my blog!
3. Gaby got another tattoo.. I tried talking him out of it, or maybe try to make him really sure about…but he was and he is happy, which is all that matters. We really need to stop judging people for something as stupid as a drawing in our bodies… we are so much more than that- what you do in life is what really matters.
4. I ave mentioned before that the kitchen is not m department, when I was 15 I tried cooking something for my then-boyfriend… and he spent like 2 days in the bathroom, so I stopped trying aha. But lately, maybe it's the "wife" thing, I have been trying new recipes. Yesterday I made sweet potato pancakes with Chia and cinnamon and it was delicious!!
5. Another exciting thing happened this week… I won an LATAM award for "top influencer!' I really was expecting it and I'm so grateful for that recognition!
This is it! Hope you liked the look and share at least one random thing (or even a ghost story if you are as crazy as I am haha) XOXO.

¡Hola!!
¡BESOS!
I feel like my style has been shifting between very feminine/ladylike (so ladylike that it can look a little retro, like these pics) and edgy (just wait for a post this week that is straight out from the grungy 90s). I absolutely loved this pink skirt as soon as I saw it DailyLook. I'm always drawn to pink items and then I have trouble wearing it ( I don't want it to look to Barbie-ish). I feel like pinks look too harsh with all black looks…I always tend to pair it with B&W, all white, or even blue. So I went for a polka dotted top and some cap toe pumps (which I DIY them a while back).
So here's a little story on why Chiki is in these pics ( I love having him but…); he scored his first modeling gig with a magazine in Miami…well, more like a prop in a fashion editorial but STILL #proudmom. Reason why we were like "Chiki, you have to practice". He did amazingly at the shoot; personally I thought he was anxious and jumping around…but they got the shot and he looks super cute! Stay tune, the issue comes out in March and I will be sharing it! XOXO

BESOS!
If I had to choose one word to describe our trip to Puerto Rico, it would be: RELAXATION!
We got there at night on the 30th; then we spent the last day of 2014 by the beach/pool and just chilling. As you can see, Chiki came with us. We haven't traveled with him in a while- I wish I could take it to Venezuela but the traveling with a pet on international flights is more complicated than it sounds (so many crazy requirements). He had so much fun running on the beach with me. And yessss, I'm wearing boots on the sand: I do it all the time, it's not that bad. I don't get sand in my feet (or I can take them off easily, no biggie).
This pineapple tee was featured recently from our trip to Punta Cana in November; but I feel this looks is completely different while still fun and beachy.
BIG HUGS and kisses from me and Chiki! <3
