This post was sponsored by Athleta. All opinions are my own. I'm excited to challenge myself to #WorkInYourWorkout by infusing a workout into my workday and wearing Athleta's new commute line.
I've been getting a lot of questions on how to stay active as a new mom who is also self-employed. The answer is easy (but not necessarily easy to apply in real life): squeeze in your workouts whenever you can!
I'm currently trying to exercise 5 days of the week with 2 cardio session and 3 sessions of 30min interval training (it's supposed to be high intensity, but I'm taking it slowly since....hey! It still feels like it was yesterday that I had a baby).
Since I work from home, I try to do the interval training in the living room with Nico by my side (sometimes when is taking his morning nap and other times he is just entertained by my squats and push-ups). Also, if he is by the activity gym I do planks right by him or maybe I'll do some squats with a 14-pound baby as extra weight.
Being a freelancer also includes meeting with potential clients or colleagues for coffee or lunch. So instead of driving like everyone in Miami, I've been trying to schedule my meetings around town in order to #WorkInMyWorkout by biking to them!! It ends up being a win-win situation: I workout, I work, and I save money and time by not having to spend 15 minutes finding an expensive parking spot.
However, heading to a meeting in workout gear might look unprofessional. Reason why I'm loving how Athleta is using multi-functional performance fabrics that work from an active commute to a workday.
Here I'm wearing the Marinwood Striped Shirt; it's a classic white button-down shirt but it's lightweight and airy, perfect for biking in Miami and still looking put-together. I paired the shirt with the Hybrid Cargo Tight; it sits at the natural waist and it's very flattering. It also has 6 pockets to keep all essentials handy. I love when brands offer petite (and tall) sizing; the fit is so much better and you save an errand to the tailor!
Since at the end, it was a fashion meeting, I added statement pieces like the hat and the clear aviators.
Join me and #WorkInYourWorkOut!!-
- You can do like me and bike to work or to a meeting.
- Maybe do wall sit-ups or planks during a work call.
- You can do a quick Yoga session in the conference room during lunch break.

Life isn't the big moments, life isn't about waiting for graduation, that big promotion at work, that cool vacation, or the big wedding. Life is all that happens in between these "big" moments- and they are worth appreciating.
Here are some of my favorite little things in life:
1. Morning cuddles with Chiki and Gabe. This is probably my favorite little moment ever. I absolutely love waking up and appreciating another day together. Totally guilty of pressing the snooze button a few times just to spend more time with them.
2. Walks or rides in the park. I live right in front of the ocean, and there's nothing like crossing the street and just hearing the ocean (plus I've been lucky enough to see dolphins from time to time!). I'm been trying to ride my bike more often, it's just liberating.
3. Wearing that special jewelry or bag whenever I want. Sometimes we invest in a piece but keep it in the original bag until we have "something" special. I'm the other way. I'm an advocate for wearing your favorite pieces all day every day! Here I'm wearing the TOUS collection Ivette; so dainty, so beautiful. Perfect for the every day AND for a special occasion with that beautiful outfit.

Last weekend was "Memorial Day Week", which means... long weekend!! Reason why on Sunday we ended up going to the pool with a couple of friends. Before heading out to the pool, Gabo and I went on a little bike ride around (Sadly, his bike got stolen a couple of days after...so upsetting and frustrating). We saw this train tracks, right by the road (no need to worry, they don't use them anymore). It was so hot out that I ended up wearing this two-piece number that looks like a retro bathing suit. I paired it with a turbans and big round sunglasses. Hope your week is starting amazingly! XOXO

My Sunday started recording a fun video that I can't wait to share (shhh it's for a huge magazine so I'm pretty excited about that). Then I did some university assignments... and after that, since Gabo and I are obsessed with our bikes, we took a ride just before sunset. Downtown was crazy and so crowded; there was a circus and a Crossfit competition...so you can imagine the craziness. I wanted to wear this denim sleeveless top, with the cutest star print, that I got the night before at the Fashion Exchange event. I paired it with some comfy jeans and simple brown/gold accessories. Sadly, something happened almost at midnight: a huge dog attacked my puppy and we had to rush to the vet. Thankfully, he's okay... he just had two punctures (we got scared because there was a little bleeding and he was limping). But he's already a little better...I have been spoiling him non-stop. Hope you like the pics!! XOXO
