OMG! I should have shared this post ages ago. But let me tell you a funny story, my dear friends (and bloggers) Kelly Saks and Erika Thomas planned this baby shower with some amazing blogger friends.
At the time, I wasn't 100% sure of the name "NICO". I mean, it was our first and favorite option but we were still thinking of other names, just in case. But when friends asked me, I would tell them we love Nico. Something happened along the way that Kelly thought that was the official name and it was so cute, she put his name all over the decor. However, since I had not shared the name publicly, I kept these images to myself...but hey, the shower was too cute not to share with you.
This was my second shower. I had one with family where I planned it all (you can see EVERYTHING about it here). Kelly also texted my husband asking him about the theme of our nursery (you can also see the nursery HERE); since it was all about animals, they went with that theme. It was all a surprise and I absolutely love how different my showers were.
The shower was at the EAST Hotel at Quinto la Huella. We had such a delicious lunch, played games, and I felt extremely blessed because Nico has the most fashionable aunts ever.
FUN THINGS I ABSOLUTELY LOVED:
- The Diaper Cake: so cute and so useful! I took them home and we are still using them.
- "It's a BOY" gold balloons that made the perfect backdrop for pictures.
- Animal Crackers were perfectly on theme!
- Newborn clothes hanging over the diaper cake. This was also a cute detail that I got to take home, Nico is still wearing these cute outfits.
- Baby's First Library: Kelly and Erika asked the guest to bring a book so Nico could start his own little library. I've started reading to him as part of the night-time routine so these came so handy.
- The Sign book: all the guest got to write the sweetest messages for Nico. I can't wait to show him all of this when he is older.
- Charm "labor" bracelet: each guest picked a charm for a bracelet and they gave it the best energy. I took this bracelet with me in my hospital bag and I know it came with the most amazing wishes from the sweetest girls ever.

I'm sure you saw at least a couple of bloggers wearing this dress on Instagam in the past couple of days'; it was part of a huge (and FUN) campaign where they invited around 50 bloggers to wear the same dress. I absolutely loved how each bloggers gave it their own twist; and it personally gave me tons of ideas on how to wear it too. I went for a bohemian-ish vibe, I added a layered necklace and milkmaid braids. I've gotten tons of request on the milkmaid braids; I think they are so easy to do and there are already tons of tutorials online BUT we all have our own ways and I want to share my little tricks too! Probablemente vieron a muchÃsimas bloggers utilizando este vestido en IG en los últimos dÃas; fue parte de una campaña divertida donde nos invitaron a más de 50 bloggers a utilizar el mismo vestido y que cada cual le diese su toque personal. A mi me encantó ver como chicas de estilos totalmentes distintos, lo hicieron ver 100% ellas! Ahora quiero usarlo con un blazer blanco para un toque más elegante, con un chaleco color verde militar y más. Yo me fui por una opción algo bohemia; agregué un collar de varias capas, y unas trenzas. Me han preguntado mucho como se hace este peinado, pronto lo verán en mi Youtube!! Es muy fácil pero supongo que cada quien tiene sus truquitos y yo quiero compartir los mÃos. ¡Les mando un abrazo gigantesco!
Last Thursday was the "Miami Hair, Beauty & Fashion by Rocco Donna" event; I've had the opportunity to attend this fashion show for the last 3 years...and they always make it extra special. My day started at the LMNT art studio where they pampered us by doing our hair and makeup- we also got to try the latest Suave Professionals products.
Every year they have a theme for the runway, this year was "Rebel Divas"; where they gave recognition to a group of strong women in the industry (Frida Kahlo, MarÃa Feliz, Marilyn Monroe, SofÃa Loren, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Ava Gardner, Donna Summer y Elizabeth Taylor). Then they invited 9 hispanic celebrities and they transformed them into modern versions of these divas.

El jueves pasado fue el "Miami Hair, Beauty & Fashion by Rocco Donna"; he tenido la oportunidad de ir 3 años seguidos a este evento y siempre me consienten muchÃsimo. El dÃa empezó en un estudio llamado LMNT donde nos maquillaron y peinaron a un grupo espectacular de bloggers y editoras de moda/belleza- y ahà probamos los últimos productos de Suave Professionals.
El concepto de este año era "Divas Rebeldes"; donde se reconocieron y celebraron a Frida Kahlo, MarÃa Feliz, Marilyn Monroe, SofÃa Loren, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Ava Gardner, Donna Summer y Elizabeth Taylor. Luego con este concepto, invitaron a nueva celebridades y el equipo de Rocco Donna Hair and Beauty las transformó en "Divas Rebeldes"

Earlier this week I went to COAST- a famous wholesale show where brands showcase their newest collections. I loved going and getting to know new brands...and say hi to a couple I already knew. I also was extremely blessed to get gifts from a couple of brands.. can't wait to wear them and show them to you on the blog. This is what I wore that day: a blue leopard top, black silk shorts, and gold details. The necklace is by Angeles Almuna, a Miami fashion bloggers who is also an amazing accessory designer. This is it for today!! I have a paper to write for grad-school! XOXO

A principios de esta semana, fui a COAST- un show donde diferentes marcas vender al por mayor. Me encantó estar ahà y conocer diferentes marcas, y visitar algunas conocidas. Aparte me regalaron muchas cositas que verán pronto en el blog...me siento muy muy afortunada. Esto fue lo que utilicé ese dÃa: una camisa de leopardo azul, unos shorts sencillos negros, y accesorios dorados. El collar es de Angeles Almuna, una blogger hermosÃsima de Miami que también es diseñadora de accesorios. Les escribo rapidito porque tengo que hacer un trabajo para la universidad. ¡Un abrazo inmenso pero INMENSO!!
