“Sponsored by Walmart and ShopStyle”
When I started blogging, in a time that feels like another lifetime ago, my main goal was to inspire you to express your personality with fashion, and to always have fun with trends.
When I was approached by Walmart and ShopStyle for this campaign, I was so excited to say yes. We Dress America not only encourages you to showcase your unique style but also celebrates fashion for all, from corner to corner of the country, all shapes, sizes and colors!
However, keeping up with the current trends doesn’t have to hurt your pocket. As I checked Walmart Fashion, I was impressed by the versatile selection of brands and current styles!
I was drawn to so many pieces. But let’s talk about this look first! This season I’m loving the Utility Trend; that includes animal print and camo print! I got these camo pants; and they are so easy to dress up or down.
But hey, to keep it real and authentic .. I’m a mom of a little dude that’s getting ready to walk, I’m all for comfort. So, I decided to pair these camo pants with a simple tee, the coolest sunnies, comfortable sneakers, and clear backpack (everything from Walmart too, you can check the exact brands in the “Get the Look” section below!!).
We headed to one of our favorite areas in Miami: WYNWOOD!
It’s such an inspiring neighborhood with street art in every corner, galleries, and delicious food spots. We stopped by Zak The Baker- the most delicious bakery with the most delicious banana bread!
What’s your favorite trend this Spring? Let me know!

GET THE LOOK:
Nowadays we get bombarded with baby products- and they keep getting more and more expensive, more technological, and full of promises. Reason why today I want to share 5 expensive baby products...and are they worth it?
___________________
1) DOCK-A-TOT ($195)
What is it?
The Dock-A-Tot is a multi-use lounger where your baby can sleep, play, rest, do tummy time and get his/her diaper changes. It's designed to feel like the womb.
PROS
- Very useful. When our baby was really little, we would use day and night. I would take it to the living room...or even to the bathroom with me!
- It's great for safe co-sleeping.
- Easy to transport. We took it with us for our first big trip to Mexico, and Nico really felt like home.
- Easy to wash.
- Comes in the most gorgeous prints.
CONS:
- Durability. The Deluxe+ lasts until the baby is around 8 months. But we only used it until Nico was 5 months.
- There is a lot of controversy about its safety. Some mamas say it shouldn't be used inside a regular crib, and some that it shouldn't spend the night inside it either.
- It requires at least another cover (just in case of any emergency) and it's definitely an added cost.
- If you want to continue using it, you have to purchase the grand - that lasts until the baby is 3 years old.

2) MAMA ROO ($249)
What is it?
The Mama Roo is considered an electric swing that comes with different types of movements and speeds. It also has the option to add white noise or baby music to help them sleep better during naps.
PROS
- It helps calm a little baby if you are busy and cannot hold it. I used it when pumping. I would put Nico in front of me and pump.
- You can adjust the inclination so the baby can be in a sit position or sleep position.
CONS:
- Big and heavy.
- It might create movement dependency. All sleeping courses recommend you avoiding electric swings since in the long run, it makes the baby dependent to swinging.
- It last around 6 months (until the baby reaches 25 pounds).
It didn't really work for us. Nico didn't like being there for more than 15 minutes. He actually prefer it when it didn't swing.
I know some moms absolutely love it; it depends on the baby but it was a big-no for us.

3) DOONA STROLLER ($499)
What is it?
It's a stroller that turns into a car-seat.
PROS
- Convenient.
- Great for traveling. Especially because airlines accept two pieces (one at check in and one at the gate); so you can take the stroller until the gate and avoid any damage to the second piece.
- It comes with a carseat base but it is not necessary if you are running around in an uber.
- For our baby, it was more comfortable than the Britax carseat.
- Everyone is amazing at how easy it is to transform it to/from a carseat.
- If the baby falls asleep in the car, you don't have to wake him to take him out of the carseat.
CONS:
- It only lasts around a year since the baby must be under 35 pounds and 32 inches. I regret not getting it since day one.
- More expensive that other strollers.
- No space to hang the diaper bag.
- You can get extra accessories, but that of course also adds to the final cost of the stroller.
We personally love it and think it's 100% worth it.

4) SNOO ($1,295)
What is it?
It is a gorgeous bassinet that moves to encourage longer baby sleep.
PROS
- It's absolutely beautiful. Anyone who sees this bassinet falls in love with the modern and gender neutral design.
- Since it moves, it comes with an integrated swaddle that are also recommended for longer sleep.
- Easy to assemble.
- Thanks to the movement, baby sleeps better and longer.
- It connects to an app where you can track sleep times, quality of sleep, etc.
- The website where it's sold offers great discounts frequently. We got it 60% off during President's day.
- Great customer service.
CONS:
- The basinet moves ALL night. I thought it would swing when the baby cried, but it actually moves faster and faster as the baby cries...it never stops moving.
- I personally believe it creates movement dependency. This made me stop using it. I was worried about the transition to the big crib when he would be older. We only used it for 1 months and I definitely think it made my baby need rocking for sleep.
- It only comes with a swaddle of each size . I recommended getting at least two, in case of any diaper spills or spit ups.
I personally do not think it's worth it. Either way you need a bigger crib AND you will end up with a spoiled baby. It feels like a band-aid for a bigger issue.

5) ERGOBABY CARRIER 360 ($160)
What is it?
The Ergobaby is an ergonomic carrier that you can use to hold your baby from day 1 to 48 months.
PROS
- Easy to put on.
- Different styles and colors. Ours is made of breathable mesh, perfect for the Miami weather.
- Lumbar support.
- It grows with your baby.
- You can use it in four different positions (back, front, on your back, and hip).
CONS:
It really don't have any cons. Only that it is on the expensive side.

Since the moment I learned how to do my eyebrows, I really feel my face changed. Eyebrows frame the face and they can transform any look.
Microblading is a procedure that started gaining popularity the last few years. I was very hesitant to try it- especially after seeing my aunts with the crazy eyebrow tattoos. After hearing the experience of a few friend and really analyzing if it was for me: I decided to do it.
So here is my experience and some of the FAQ I got on my Instagram (@Nany).
Let's start with a very important question: WHERE DID I GOT MINE DONE?
I went to @EyebrowDoctor in Miami Beach. Find someone who you can trust with your eyes closed. Check their portfolio carefully , look for reviews online...even interview them if you wish! Make sure the place is clean, that they are using high quality products, and trust your instinct. I truly believe that cheap places end up being "expensive", especially when it's something semi-permanent on your body. It's better to pay a little extra to be 110% happy with the work.
When I got to the Eyebrow Doctor studio, we talked for a bit. She measured certain points of my face to make them symmetrical but she truly works wonders. She also applied a numbing cream and we got ready to start!
Then the second most common question was about the level of pain.
Well, I consider I have a high tolerance to pain and I DID feel pain. Comparing it to other cosmetic procedures like waxing, I do think a brazilian wax hurts more. Let's say a 7/10.
It's a bit uncomfortable because you can feel the skin breaking and it feels like little cat scratches. I have a few small tattoos and I think it does hurt more than a regular tattoo.
The good news is that it's VERY fast. I wish I would have timed it because I wanted it to be over QUICKLY but at the same time I know it didn't take that long.
After leaving the studio, I felt my eyebrows a bit swollen and some discomfort- like when you have a paper cut.
Let's now talk about how to take care of them while they are healing.
The person that just did your eyebrows should give you clear instructions on how to take care of them. If she is not giving you the instructions in written form, WRITE THEM. You should follow them from A-To-Z to avoid any infection and to make sure they come up like they should. Here are some of the instructions given TO ME, but remember every esthetician is different...LISTEN TO THE EXPERT you decided to trust!
- Don't get the eyebrows wet during the healing process (which is around 7 days minimum)- that means all day and all night.
- Don't put makeup on your eyebrows for a week. I would apply concealer, mascara, bronzer- and then I would remove it with carefully without touching the eyebrow area.
- Do not scrub or rub them.
- To help with the itchiness, apply an after-care ointment with a Q-tip.
- Avoid tanning or sun exposure + swimming pools for 14 days.
You might get tiny scabs...that's normal! Just keep an eye on them!
I think it's also important to mention that the first few days, the eyebrows look darker than they would be. Don't get alarmed, it fades to a natural color! I personally didn't do them too dark because I love NOT-wearing makeup and I didn't want to look like a clown without anything on my face. So I still put a tiny bit of eyebrow powder when I'm doing a full-face of makeup.
Remember that this is not 100% permanent, it will fade over time.
Which leads me to my next question: how long does it last? Do you need touch ups?
Like I said, it isn't a permanent procedure. Your first touch-up is needed 4 weeks after the initial appointment, to make sure everything is as you want it to be!
After that, you will need touch-ups 6 months-1 year after your first procedure depending on skin type, medications, and sun exposure..
CONCLUSION: is it worth it?
Well, that's a personal one. For me it was. My eyebrows are more symmetrical, I like how it looks without makeup and I love how easy it is to follow the shape when adding a bit more eyebrow powder.
Many of my friends have done it and are obsessed with it!!

A mà me gustó mucho.
Sponsored by Hanes Baby. All opinions are my own.
As an adult, when you are comfortable…you feel good, right? It’s that simple! That’s the reason why it’s always a priority for us to dress Nico in comfy clothes: comfy baby = happy baby!!
We were super excited to partner with Hanes Baby for its new line of babywear. It was designed with comfort in mind AND the basics are ADORABLE! You can mix and match them for any occasion. This line is proof that comfort doesn’t mean your little one can’t be stylish!
The Hanes Baby line features ways to make your life as a parent easier So let me tell you all about them!
- Hanes Flexy allows clothing to fit your baby longer with a flexible fabric that stretches 4 ways. This provides value, and I personally get attached to his cute little clothes and I love knowing they’ll last longer!
-Hanes Zippin allows parents to change baby easier and adds flexibility to adjust arm and leg cuffs as needed. He is such an energetic baby and he moves a lot while changing, so the zipper pants make everything just faster and convenient + the zippers have a protective cover to keep them away from your baby’s skin!

Let me show you some of Nico’s (and our) favorite styles!
As soon as Nico wakes up, we change his diaper and get him out of his PJs. If you have been reading my Sleep Training stories, this helps him get in the mood of “the day began…I’m out of my Pjs”. We regularly put him in a short sleeve/sleeveless body suit since Miami is so warm. I also think he moves more freely in this tank and now that he is learning to crawl, it’s the perfect match!
I’m loving this tank onesie. The 5-pack has the cutest prints; from stars to this cute astronaut dog. It has expandable shoulders to get the tank over the baby head easily!
Our getting ready routine is always a little crazy- like any new parent right?
I put him in the play pen, I do my makeup quickly (I have a 5 minute makeup routine down to the T!), then change him while still in my pjs. Then, put him in the stroller or bouncer while putting my clothes on and getting his diaper bag ready to go…and finally we are out the door!
This adorable set comes with a zip pant, which makes it so much easier to put on Nico. Now that he is so agile, he wants to crawl away as soon as I lay him to dress him. And well, I love the star print…give me anything with stars!!
This set of a knit hoodie + pant is super cute- and it was perfect for a sunset stroll with Gabe. Chiki, our pup, was getting groomed that afternoon, we totally missed him that day!
Like I mentioned, it’s finally a bit cool in Miami. I was born in a tropical country and layering is always a bit tricky for me…imagine with Nico that he can’t tell me if he is too hot! But if you live in a seasonal city, this set also comes in a fleece option!
LONG SLEEVE POLO BODYSUIT - 3 PACK
A polo bodysuit? I’m sold! This style looks so adorable on little babies, but it’s super easy to get over their heads! The fabric truly moves with Nico. We have been using them alone at the house and then we’ve added some pants and socks for outings - he gets so many compliments with the polos!
MORE FROM HANES BABY
And this short-sleeve polo with its matching pants!
And onesies with adorable messages! likes BABIES FOR A CHANGE.
PEACE. LOVE. BABY
Oh and I know many non-moms follow me but love reading about baby stuff, these make for the perfect gift for any new parent!.

Sponsored by Hot Tools. All opinions are my own.
If I have to describe my “go-to hairstyle for 2018”: it would be soft curls or waves. I definitely found my comfort zone...but I refuse to stay in it in this new year!!
MY HAIR RESOLUTION FOR 2019 is:
So my hair resolution for 2019 is to play with different hairstyles...it’s just as fun as fashion. I always say that your clothes should express your personality; but hey! your hair and makeup say just as much about you! Let’s not take ourselves that seriously in the beauty department! TIME TO HAVE FUN!
As a new mom, I try to take advantage of every minute I have. Regularly, I wash my hair once/twice per week at night while Nico sleeps and let it air-dry as much as possible. However, when I’m in a hurry, I use HOT TOOLS Black Gold Turbo Ionic Salon Dryer ($119.99 at Ulta) . Because of the Direct ION Technology, it dries my hair super fast and it reduces frizz (which living in Miami, we all need to reduce frizz!..but more on that below).
After my hair is dry, I regularly sit in front of the mirror with my lionesque hair and ask myself: am I in the mood of curly hair? straight hair?
Like I mentioned, during 2019. I curled my hair once a week. I’ve found that my curls last longer when I use a flat iron. The HOT TOOLS Black Gold 1 1/4" Digital Salon Flat Iron ($119.99 at Ulta) has round edges to curl hair easily! So of course my first instinct was to go for my comfort zone...and I stepped back and I said NO: let’s make sleek straight hair fun with some little twists!
Every time I wear my hair straight in Miami, with all the humidity, I get so many: “How isn’t it crazy frizzy in this weather?”
“How do you make it last?”
So let me share a few tips with you:
- Use hair products in the shower catered for your hair type, texture, and color (if your hair is
bleached or dyed).
- I always forget to put a heat protectant, but it’s really important since we are always putting our hair in such high temperatures.
- I always forget to put a heat protectant, but it’s really important since we are always putting our hair in such high temperatures.
- Just as we use high quality products, invest in high-quality hair tools. The Hot Tools Black Gold
Collection. I love that the Ionic Salon Flat Iron has a Micro Shines Ceramic finish minimizes
friction and reduces damage to your hair.
- When you are done curling or straightening, use your blow-dryer with the cool air setting in order to cool down your hair- that way it sets! If you go outside, and your hair is still hot: it can frizz or fall flat.
- I also don’t like using hair spray after styling my hair: I feel it wets my hair and hence messes with what I just did to it! I’ve noticed my curls or straight hair lasts longer when I don’t apply any product to it.
- For great sleek hair , I like dividing my hair in small sections in order to go over each section with the flat iron ONCE- instead of going over several times for a bigger piece (this decreases the damage since you go over it just one time).

But straight sleek hair doesn’t have to be boring...at all! Let’s add some accessories!!!!
1) DRESSY BOBBY PINS
I know there isn’t a big science behind this hairstyle but I’m loving this trend of embellished bobby pins or fun hair clips. It really adds a lot, and it takes 4 seconds!!! You can add them to a middle part hairstyle, a side part...add one or a few! Again, have fun with it!
2) BERET AND JASMINE PIG TAILS

- Do two pig tails. Secure with a clear elastic band.
- Secure two more elastic bands at lower on each pig tail and start opening the pig tail to create volume. You can tease for added volume but I didn’t want to mess with my sleek hair.
- Secure another two elastic bands on each side and repeat the process.
- Add a hat or a beret and you are ready to go!
