¡Feliz domingo!!!
Every year...around the 3rd week of July is Swim Week. This year was a little different because the main sponsor, IMG, decided to not be part of the main event...leaving everyone confused. Many people even cancelled their trips because they thought it wasn't happening or that it was going to be a mess...the second part was a little true, it was messier than previous years. The problem? Many shows were at the same time AND on different locations...which made it impossible to attend many things (specially when you add the Miami traffic into the equation). I personally attended few shows for many reasons...as many of you already know I'm shy and running around trying to attend 5 shows per hour is...well I'll leave that for the extroverted kind (nothing bad about it!). I just prefer to stay in one event and have actual conversations with bloggers that are now actual friends! I wore this the first day, I went to an event for Sol De Janeiro ( a super cool Brazilian brand that I will tell you more later), to the Wildfox presentation, and then to have dinner with Kelly Saks and Flor de Maria. We all had a blast together!
For my outfit, since it was so hot and all events are mostly outdoors, I went for light combos. This romper is from a Miami boutique called OHM...very cool and very bohemian. To dress it up I added some high heels, my baby Chanel, and a dark lipstick!

La tercera semana de Julio generalmente es la Semana de la Moda Swim en Miami. Este año fue un poco diferente porque el patrocinador principal, IMG, decidió no ser parte de las actividades de este año...dejando a muchas marcas a la deriva. El problema: todo fue un poco más desorganizado de lo normal y muchos eventos eran a la misma hora que otros...causando que faltara mucha gente. Yo fui a muy poco shows por varias razones: 1. yo soy más tÃmida de lo que se imaginan, y ese corre corre es para gente extrovertida. 2. Prefiero compartir con bloggers- que ya son amigas, ir a comer, y pasarla bien en UN evento que intentar ir a 5 por hora. Esto fue lo que utilicé el primer dÃa para ir a un evento de Sol de Janeiro (una nueva marca de productos de belleza de Brasil que les va a encantar...pronto les contaré más), de ahà fuimos al show de Wildfox, y a cenar junto a Kelly Saks y Flor de Maria.
En cuanto al look, quise usar este romper de OHM BOUTIQUE, una boutique en Miami que tiene cosas hermosas...especialmente si te gusta el look relajado y un poco bohemio. Para hacer el romper más elegante lo combiné con unas sandalias altas, mi Chanel, y un labial oscuro.

Hey everyone! How are you? I'm going to start doing something new… a 5 random things on Sundays and I hope you all share at least something random that's going on your lives.
1. We have been changing all the furniture in our apartment. Our apartment is really small, I think it's the size of one of those "office closets" the bloggers do tours on. Now our bed has storage, our dresser has 8 drawers instead of 6…we changed the sofa for a sofa bed (which actually has storage too underneath!!). So now it fits two people, a dog, and all my clothes (insert the emoji of the monkey with its hands on its eyes!)
2. I finished grad school on March but I'm doing the ceremony on June. Honestly, I don't feel like walking again… it's all for the parents, right?
3. I'm going to a music festival called Bonnaroo…have you head of it? I'm super excited, I'm going with a group of bloggers and I'm already planning my looks.
4. Well, I always say this but I want to do more celebrity inspired looks…all the ones that are regrettable are Kardashian/Jenner… and I honestly don't want to do them so often (actually, there's a Kendall Jenner one coming soon…but I did it a couple of weeks ago!)
5. I've been reading the book "gone Girl". I already watched the movie but I love getting to really know the character. Are you more of a book or movie girl?

¡Hola!! ¿Cómo están? A ver hoy querÃa contarles 5 cositas random y espero que ustedes también compartan asà sea una conmigo!
1. Estuvimos cambiando toda la decoración de la casa porque necesitábamos espacio. Ahora tenemos una cama con gavetas debajo, nuestro neceser tiene 8 gavetas en vez de 6…hasta el sofá cama tiene espacio para meter cosas…jajaa es que esto de vivir con una "fashion blogger" no es fácil (aparte que Gabo tiene más zapatos que todos los hombres que conozco!)
2. Ya terminé la universidad (el postgrado) pero el acto es en un par de semanas. Honestamente no quiero…pero eso es siempre por los papás, para que se llenen de orgullo!
3. Voy en Junio a un festival que se llama Bonnaroo, ¿han oido de el? Estoy super emocionada y ya estoy planeando mis looks para eso.
4. Siempre les digo esto, pero quiero hacer más looks inspirados en celebridades…comenten abajo a quien les gustarÃa ver.
5. Ando leyendo el libro "Gone Girl"..ya vi la pelÃcula pero a mi me encanta como en un libro llegas a "conocer" realmente a los personajes y todo lo que esta pasando.

Because of Easter, Gaby had extra days off work…so we headed to St. Augustine on a road trip. This small town is the oldest "city" in the US- founded in 1565! I'll share more pics throughout the week. We got there in the afternoon-after a 5 hour car ride and we headed quickly to the beach. Then we changed for a date-night..hey gotta get that spark going and I love dressing up. You all know by know how much I love classic black and white- but I think the grid print on this skirt makes it fun and modern. I paired it with a long sleeved crop top (but off the shoulders!). I finally added a touch of color with the blue handbag and the red lips. Hope you had an amazing Easter and you got to share this special day with your loved ones. XOXO

Este fin largo aprovechamos y nos escapamos para ir a San AgustÃn, la ciudad más antigua de Estados Unidos- fundada en 1565. Pronto les muestro más fotos de los sitios que vimos; el primer dÃa llegamos como a las 3 de la tarde (son 5 horas desde Miami) y nos fuimos a dar una vuelta en la playa rápida. Luego nos cambiamos para salir a comer y aprovechar….por eso el look un poco más romántico. Ultimamente estoy utilizando muchÃsimo blanco-negro, esta falda cuadriculada me gustó mucho y el estampado hace que la silueta clásica se vea más moderna y juvenil. Lo combiné con un crop top con los hombros al descubierto pero manga larga. Finalmente le di un toque de color al look con una cartera de cuero sintético azul y los labios rojos. Espero que hayan tenido un Semana Santa muy linda y que hayan compartido con sus familiares. ¡BESOS!
These pictures will always be the last photos we took with our professional camera before getting robbed. Yes, we got robbed in Wynwood (Miami) in plain daylight. For me it's so upsetting because I come from a country where you hear stories like this multiple times a day; and you think that this type of stuff doesn't happen in a country where the "system" works. I'm going to share what happened because I was asked a lot about it. We were on an empty street in Wynwood, we go (or went) there because it's always empty, the graffitis look cool, and nobody stares. I have to admit I can get very self-conscious when taking pictures in front of a lot of people. I feel like they look at me like "what is she doing" "she is too short to be a model". We were about to finish the photos + video when a guy that came out of nowhere started to ask questions about what we were doing and about the camera/lens (thing that has happened before, there are a lot of photographers in the area and they are just curious to see). He shared that he was shooting a car for a rapper just across the street that he needed some help with a camera setting. Honestly, he gave me a weird vibe and I try to step away but he was following us and he was very pushy. Gaby finally agreed but asked me to wait for him in the car (he definitely got a weird vibe and his first instinct was to send me away). When he got to the car they were shooting, the guy took the camera away from his hands, hopped in the car, and they just disappear in a matter of microseconds. I heard the wheels squeaking and I ran towards Gabo just praying they didn't do anything to him.
We called the policed, filed a report, and just over analyzed the situation thinking of all the mistakes and how stupid we were. The guy just knew was he was doing, I'm sure they have done that a thousand times (there were two other guys inside the car…huge guys!). We are so grateful that we didn't see a gun or a knife or that they didn't hurt Gaby in any way or form. I'm actually 100% sure that they were armed but they didn't have to use them because we were "stupid" enough to fall in their trap. The important part is that we are okay and that the shock of seeing a gun didn't happen.
When I got home, I started crying…not because of what we lost (yes, we lost our best lens and camera, and it obviously hurts. It is our main work tool and it is so important to what we do). I cried because of how f**ked humanity is, because of the crazy amount of people that do not have ethics or values. We were literally working to be able to afford nice things and people just take the easy way out. Gaby used to be less trustworthy and over the years I have tried to teach him to see the good in people; to smile at strangers, and to help others. Unfortunately, someone took advantage of exactly that…our will to help others. I just wish that this experience doesn't change that in us- hey, this is life…and sh!t happens.

Detrás de esta fotos hay un recuerdo triste porque fueron las últimas fotos que tomamos con la cámara profesional de Gaby. Muchas probablemente ya vieron en mis redes sociales que compartà que nos robaron en pleno Wynwood. Me da mucho coraje e impotencia porque es de esas cosas que uno no se imagina que pasan en este paÃs. Viniendo de un paÃs donde uno escucha noticias de robo muchas veces al dÃa, supongo que nos confiamos por vivir acá y pensar que aquà "el sistema" funciona. Les cuento como fue porque nos han preguntado mucho. Estabamos en una calle semi vacÃa en Wynwood- a la que vamos ( o ahora Ãbamos) porque está vacÃa. A mi me da un poco de pena tomar fotos donde hay mucha gente, la gente te mira y especialmente cuando eres un chichón de piso como yo, ves la cara de la gente pensando que hace esta "enanita" creyéndose modelo. Ya casi terminando las fotos, se nos acercó un Señor (con una vibra horrible…es verdad lo del instinto de mujer) y nos empezó a hacer preguntas de que estábamos haciendo, que para que era, que tipo de cámara, etc etc. Esto tampoco es raro, en Wynwood hay mucha gente que trabaja en esta industria y saben de cámaras. El le preguntó a Gaby si podÃa ayudarlo un segundo, que estaban grabando algo para un rapero en un carro a media cuadra y algo no les estaba funcionando. Yo intenté decirle a Gabo que nos fuéramos pero la situación ya estaba tensa y honestamente, yo andaba un pelÃn asustada. Gabo me dijo que me fuese al carro (creo que ya el sabÃa lo que venÃa también que intento que me fuese lo más lejos posible). Literalmente estaban cerquÃsima, a 100 pasos de mi máximo. El tipo le pidió ver algo en el setting de la cámara de Gaby, se la arranco de las manos, se montó en el carro por la ventana y en cuestión de segundos se fueron….con nuestro mejor equipo de trabajo. Yo escuché los cauchos del carro y de una salà corriendo; solo rezando para que no le hubiesen hecho nada.
Llamamos a la policÃa, hicimos el reporte, y estuvimos horas analizando la situación- todos los errores que cometimos y como el tipo nos envolvió en una situación que se nota que han hecho 1000 veces. La policÃa nos dijo que es algo que estaba pasando muy seguido en Wynwood y que más bien corrimos con suerte. Yo estoy 100% segura que esos señores estaban armados (eran 3, habÃan dos morenos gigantes en el carro). Gracias a Dios no tuvieron que usar las armas- tal vez porque fuimos extremadamente tontos, si. Pero estoy segura que si alguno de los dos se hubiese opuesto al "plan" de ellos…esta historia serÃa muy distinta. El shock de ser amenezado o ver un arma es mil veces peor que "que te agarren de pende..". Lo que importa de verdad es que no nos pasó nada.
Al llegar la casa me guindé a llorar…no porque hayamos perdido nuestro mejor equipo (que claro que duele; como blogger y fotógrafo, esas son nuestras herramientas de trabajo). Lloraba por lo mal que estamos como sociedad, porque no hay valores, porque no se aprecia el trabajo ajeno, y porque el humano siempre busca el camino fácil. Nosotros no estábamos echándonos aire, estábamos trabajando. Yo siempre he intentado ver lo mejor en cada persona; no desconfiar de nadie, sonreÃr a los desconocidos, y ayudar al prójimo. Lamentablemente esta vez alguien se aprovechó de justamente eso, pero asà es la vida y son cosas que pasan.
Hey girls! I need to stop with the excuses but I went to New York this weekend to do a fun video with GUESS! (if you follow me on Instagram you probably saw my awesome co-stars: Luanna from le Happy, Lo Bosworth, and Marianna Hewitt!). I arrived so tired in Miami and I don't officially finish class until next Sunday..so almost there! Many of you don't know but Gabe takes all my pictures and he is working until 9pm most of the days. We used to have every day every week…but now we have been struggling a little to create all the content we want to!
Let's see…about this looks! First, get ready because you can win the bag I'm wearing in this post! I'll have a giveaway on my Instagram (@nanysklozet)- if I'm not mistaken, we are giving away 5 bags!. Also I want to tell you about my big purchase: these Manolos <3 <3 Last year I decided I was going to save up to gift myself a nice bag on my birthdays and a nice pair of shoes for Christmas. So the condition is to sell on Poshmark..and the more I get "rid" of things, the more space there is for a nice something-something! I couldn't decide what shoes to get this Xmas and I finally chose them (well, after some serious talks with Adriana Castro and Flor de Maria Fashion..who both have tons of designer shoes and they were giving me advice on what to invest in). I went for a classic classic pair of black pumps! I have to admit I was tempted by the Valentino Rockstuds but I'm scared to spend that amount of money on something that will be out of fashion very soon. What do you think? did I make the right choice?

¡HOLA!! No me he olvidado de ustedes…este fin estuve en Nueva York grabando un video con Guess (y Luanna Perez, Lo Bosworth y Marianna Hewitt…pasen por mi Instagram que hay fotitos con ellas!). Llegué a Miami un poco cansada y por eso no he actualizado el blog; pero ya que termine oficialmente las clases la semana que viene, todo va a regresar relativamente a la normalidad. No se si les llegué a contar, pero Gabo esta trabajando casi todos los dÃas hasta las 9pm asà que tenemos menos tiempo de lo que tenÃamos antes para los looks.
A ver que les puedo contar de este look. Estén pendientes en mi IG mañana Lunes (@Nanysklozet) porque voy a estar rifando varias carteras como la que llevo en este look. También les querÃa contar de esta gran adquisición: mis Manolos! En mi cumpleaños pasado decidà que cada cumpleaños iba a ahorrar todo el año para regalarme una cartera buena, y cada Navidad unos zapatos buenos. Hice lo mismo, vendà muchas cositas en Poshmark y ahorré para comprarme estos zapatos (que en teorÃa me los debà haber comprado en Navidad…pero no lograba decidirme que zapatos comprar). Después de hablar con varias amigas..entre ellas Flor de MarÃa Fashion y Adriana Castro; me fui por un par clásico que puedo utilizar con todo y para todo… ¿qué les parecen?! En un momento quise comprarme los Valentino Rockstud pero eran el doble de caros y me da miedito que las tachuelas pasen de moda pronto.

When I went to NYC, I stopped at Dolce Vita's showroom for a fun brunch where we also got to pick a couple of shoes. I got these silver sneakers, I thought they were so much fun and they add a touch of coolness to the simplest look. Right now I'm in Los Angeles for a Latina blogger conference called WeAllGrow…the vibe is amazing, everywhere is so sweet! I'll tell you more about it soon! Cuando estaba en NYC, fui al showroom de Dolce Vita (que por cierto, es un espectáculo). Ahà escogà estos zapatos plateados que no me he quitado en el dÃa a dÃa. Me encanta porque le dan un toque cool a cualquier look…asà sea extremadamente simple. Ahorita les escribo rápido desde Los Angeles; estoy aquà por la conferencia de WeAllGrow….por los momentos ha estado increÃble, pronto les contaré más.
