Family Outings around Santa Monica in Rockport

Wednesday, December 5, 2018

This post is sponsored by Zappos & Rockport – all opinions are my own.

A little over 6 months ago, we partnered with Rockport & Zappos...and they ended becoming such special photos because that was the day I went into labor! Now I'm super excited to work with them again, and Nico gets to be in the pictures with us!

As you can see from the title, we are in Santa Monica!!!

Gabe had a photography job in California so the whole family decided to tag along! It's so fun to explore the world with our little one! Traveling with our baby Nico has taught us to pack SMART.  I've learned to pack only what I need.  I used to bring as many shoes I could, now I'm happy with my pair of black booties and a pair of sneakers.

I mean, if you have been following me for a while you know I LOVE black boots. They are so easy to dress up or down; you can wear them with jeans or skirts; and during any season. To update my black booties, I got Rockport's Total Motion Valerie Luxe Boot. I loved the lateral zipper detail and the heel is only 3 inches- making it perfect to walk around but also feel oh-so-fabulous! They were the perfect pair to bring for the trip.

My husband, Gabe, loves sneakers and he wears them until the shoes "start walking by themselves" after so much use. Taking advantage of Zappos' fast free shipping and 365 return policy, I got the Rockport Colle Tie for him as a surprise.  And they were an instant hit! The premium leather gives them a dressier feel but Gabe says they are light and comfortable. They run a bit big so I suggest getting them half a size smaller.

We met with our friend Gara- who is also responsible for these awesome couple shots!
We walked around the pier, had lunch, and played a second at the arcade.

White Overalls around BIG SUR & Monterey, CA

Monday, September 12, 2016

If there was one place Gabe wanted to cross off their check list was BIG SUR- and it really is a dream!

Before heading South we went to a small tow called Monterey. There was a beautiful historic town with a fisherman's warf.

Hope you like the pics! I'm going to let the pics talk for themselves. Sorry I took so long to upload them. XOXO

Celebrity inspired: MIRANDA KERR

I absolutely adore Miranda Kerr's style- she always looks like perfection from head to toe I'm not sure if she has a stylist, but either way.. she always looks fantastic. I have several of her looks saved in my computer and I've been wanting to do specifically this one for a while. I had all the pieces except the burgundy bag... and I finally have it (and as you can see, I can't stop wearing it...it has been featured on the blog several times already).

I get a lot of requests to do looks for different body types... and well, that's something I certainly cannot change. But this is exactly what this comparison is about.... Miranda must be at least 6 inches taller than me (and probably even weighs less than me). When "copying" this look, I had to be very careful about proportions: if my shirt was as long as hers and if my pants were rolled up like hers, my legs would look even shorter. Also, petite girls should stay away from big and long bags like the one she's wearing- they look like they are carrying you instead of you carrying the bag. Remember, inspiration is everywhere... you just have to make it work for you and for your style! XOXO

Black & Cream

Saturday, September 24, 2011

Photobucket

As I told you on the previous post, this friday I had my last final- it was one of my favorite classes: History of Fashion I. I wore this sweater to the test but with black jeans because it's so cold there. However, I got home so early (it wasn't even 10 am) that I went back to sleep and when I woke up, I wanted to make this outfit "miami friendly". I saw these vintage D&G on my closet and I thought they were perfect to make this outfit completely "cream and black- but I wanted to add a pop of color with a bright-pink lipstick. Later, we had dinner at a sushi place where they have the best chicken rolls! Thanks for stopping by! XOXO
