A couple of days before our trip to Culebra, we got a little worried because of the weather forecast...it said we were going to have thunderstorms every single day. Thankfully, it wasn't like that- the only day that actually rained a lot was this one... a Sunday. Even though we couldn't go to the beach, we had so much fun playing board games the whole morning. After lunch we headed to the "town" since a couple of our friends were coming back because of work/school. You have no idea how stressful it was, the ferry was full and there weren't any flights... we spent hours and hours with them making sure they would find a way back home! In the morning a wore this neon maxi dress with a hat (I know I know, it was raining but hats keep my little afro in place). Then I changed to black overalls and comfy shoes to go to the town.  I don't have as many pics from this day in comparison to the rest (Gabo treats his camera like a baby...so imagine when it's raining).  I hope you like them!!

Unos días antes de viajar a Culebra nos "preocupamos" porque el pronóstico del tiempo decía que iba a llover todos los días que ibamos a estar allá. Afortunadamente no fue así, solo nos llovío uno de los cuatro días... en otras palabras este día, un domingo. Aunque la lluvia no nos dejó ir a la playa, nos quedamos jugando juegos de mesa toda la mañana. Luego pasamos la tarde en el pueblo ya que la mitad del grupo que fue, se regresa a sus respectivas ciudades para trabajar el Lunes. Esto fue muy estresante porque el ferry estaba lleno, los vuelos todos vendidos... y pasamos horas acompañándolos y asegurándonos que regresaran sanos a tierra firme. Durante la mañana utilicé este vestidito neón con un sombrero (que aunque no había sol, el sombrero me ayuda con mi afro jajaja). Luego para ir al pueblo, me cambié a unas braga negra con un traje de baño completo debajo. Como estuvo lloviendo tanto, son pocas las fotos en comparación al resto de los artículos de Culebra- pero igual espero que les gusten!

Before writing this little paragraphs, I always find the links where you can find what I'm wearing. I started with the skirt and....the model is wearing the exact same way, with a long-sleeved crop top. I swear it wasn't on purpose- it might have been because the styling on the model or on mannequins at the store are the first idea we get on how to wear something (and I guess it stuck in my mind). I wore this two Saturdays ago to help Gabo at a photoshoot with the sister of one of our best friends. It was so much fun, she's amazing and their family was there..so I had a blast. Since we were on Lincoln Road, a street full of restaurants and stores, we stayed and ate Latinamerican food. Later we headed to a candy store (check out my instagram pic below!). Antes de empezar a escribir, siempre busco los links de los enlaces de las piezas. Justo ahora empiezo por la falda...y estoy usándola igual que la modelo en la página de Motel Rocks - con una camisa manga larga cortita. De verdad que no fue al propósito, aunque el estilismo de las páginas es importantísimo porque nos da la primera idea de como usar una pieza. Bueno esto lo utilicé hace dos sábados para acompañar a Gabo a una sesión de fotos para la hermana de uno de nuestros mejores amigos. Como estabamos en la Lincoln Road, calle llena de tiendas y restaurantes, nos quedamos comiendo con ellos y después pasamos por una tienda de caramelos. Un abrazo grandísimo a tod@s!




HAIRSTYLE WITH VIDAL SASSON + CHICTOPIA:



Today I'm joining Chictopia and Vidal Sassoon to showcase a fun and unique-do. After watching the Met Gala a couple of weeks ago,  where several celebrities had this deep side part and the smaller part pulled back so it looks like you shaved half of your hair, and I really wanted to try it. You just need to do a deep side part and twist the smaller side and pin it back. I also curled my hair a little to give it dimension ( I used Vidal Sasson's heat protectant first), and I added a Vidal Sasson's hairspray to keep everything in place.

A lot people would get scared to get such a bright skirt... I know I did. But I feel like it has been even more versatile than I imagined. I have paired it with black in all looks, but all of them are very different. I wore the first look during New York Fashion Week in February...and it was COLD that day. I wore a top with a neon collar so it would look like I was wearing a dress with a sweater on top. On the second look, I took a risk by wearing it with more neon (but pink) and a polka dot print blouse. The last look is simple but very sophisticated.

Muchas se asustarían al ver una falda tan llamativa....pero siento que le he sacado provecho a pesar de que la he combinado mayormente con negro. El primer look fue durante la semana de la moda en NYC- quise usar una camisa del mismo color de la falda debajo del suéter para que pareciera que estaba usando un vestido neón (y bueno estaba haciendo mucho frío, así que no podían faltar las botas, las medias pantys, y la chaqueta). En el segundo look me arriesgué a combinarla con otros toques de neón pero rosado en el cinturón y los zapatos. Y en el último, mantuve el look lo más clásico possible con un top de encaje.

Last Saturday I attended an event called "Trend Evolution" a close friend planned it...and I 'm so proud of her (she's also the owner of an accessory boutique called Vahife). The idea was to support new and creative artists.. ranging from designers, painters, entrepreneurs...and even  a cup-cake business. The best part was that some of the profit went to an AIDS organization. Also, Vahife is finally online...and there you can see my pictures "modeling" with a crazy amount of accessories. El sábado pasado fue el evento "Trend Evolution"- planeado por una gran amiga y dueña de la boutique de accesorios, Vahife Boutique. La idea era apoyar talento emergente en en moda, accesorios, fotografía, arte, etc. Cada compañía tenía su puestito donde tenían sus productos a la venta, y parte de la ganancia fue donada a una asociación de SIDA. Fue genial ver como todo se armó poco a poco... estoy full orgullosa de Valentina y todo lo que ha logrado.
