A couple of weeks ago, I was in "Despierta America"- the hispanic morning show on Univision- talking about how to dress like a queen/pricess for less (all looks were under $140- including accessories and everything). I'll start from left to right:
- The first look was inspired by Carlota, Princess of Monaco. I think she is very daring when it comes to fashion and this is definitely the most youthful look out of the three. We were inspired by THIS look of hers..she's wearing Gucci but the model is wearing Forever 21. I love how the fuchsia looks with the orange and the pops of gold.
- The second look was inspired by Queen Maxima of the Neatherlands. For this look, I took elements of several looks she has worn in the past: longer hem, classic A-line shape, flattering colors, vintage pin, etc.
- Finally, the last one was inspired by the new-queen of Spain, Letizia. To add a little variety (and because she wears them frequently), I added a black suit with a floral shirt…this look is perfect to wear to the office.

Hace unas semanas estuve en "Despierta América" hablando de como puedes vestirte de la realeza por menos (los looks completos de las modelos no pasaban los $140). Empiezo contándoles de los looks de izquierda a derecha:
- El primero fue inspirado por Carlota, Princesa de Mónaco. Es el look más juvenÃl y divertido de los tres. El color naranja se ve espectacular con el fucsia, y los toques de dorado lo complementan perfectamente.
- El segundo look fue inspirado por la Reina Máxima de Holanda. Para esta combinación me inspiré en varios vestidos que ella ha utilizado…pero todos tienen en común esta silueta. El azul marino es muy clásico y favorecedor. Agregamos un broche vintage, que pueden conseguir en tiendas de segunda mano por $3.
- El último look fue inspirado en la ahora-reina Letizia. Analizando sus looks es de las pocas que utiliza pantalones en vez de faldas; armamos un look de un traje negro con una camisa de estampado floral…perfecto para la oficina.
A couple of weeks ago, I was on Univision's morning show talking about the latest trends in shorts for this Summer. I had so much fun doing the styling for this segment...and "Nany's Klozet x Melao" was featured (with other gorgeous Melao pieces).
I think we always go for the simple blue jeans during the summer ( I do too, I love them); but this season, try different silhouettes, colors, and prints!

Hace unas semanas estuve en Despierta America hablando de las últimas tendencias en shorts para esta temporada. Me divertà muchÃsimo haciendo el estilismo de este segmento...y aparte mis prendas "Nany's Klozet para Melao" hicieron una pequeña aparición junto a piezas de la última colección de Melao llamada Cafeto y la pasada llamada "Yakera".
Uno siempre piensa en los tÃpicos shorts de blue jean (y totalmente de acuerdo, a mi me encantan los mÃos) pero esta temporada, arriesgate a usar diferentes estilos, estampados, y colores.
Last week I had a great opportunity to be on Despierta América ( the biggest morning show in the hispanic network community). They were supposed to upload the video on Univision.com, but I don't know what happened- so here are all the pics and some of the key points of what we talked about.
It was all about jumpsuits- which are are versatile piece regularly associated with summer but it's actually very easy to layer during the winter.
For petite girls: it's always hard to find the right lengths so the best option for shorties like me is going for romper. During the winter, you can use tights underneath. The V neck is also very flattering and it makes you figure look leaner and longer.
For bigger bust: we actually recommended to be a little daring and try out a sexy open back. Having a big bust doesn't always mean having to show it, so you can for a different type of cleavage. Besides that, nowadays there are many backless bras...so no excuses!
For curvy girls: we went for a solid color (but still a fun bright color). The style the model was using was wide legged, which makes you look taller and leaner. Even though it was flowy, it still had a waistband so your little waist doesn't get lost in the fabric.

La semana pasada estuve en Despierta América Univisión hablando sobre como utilizar "jumpsuits" durante el invierno. No se que pasó con el video que no lo subieron a Univision.com, pero igual quiero compartir las fotitos y contarles un poquito de las recomendaciones que hablamos en el show.
Primero que nada los jumpsuits son piezas muy versátiles; aunque las asociamos con el verano, puedes utilizarlas con capas durante el invierno.
Para las petite: como petite me pasa muchÃsimo que todos los jumpsuits me quedan muy largos, por eso tiendo a usar rompers. Durante el invierno, puedes usar tus rompers sin problema al agregarle medias pantys debajo. El cuello en V del modelo que usó la modelo también nos ayuda a alargar nuestra figura chiquitica.
Para las mujeres con mucho busto: quisimos recomendarles que se atrevieran a usar jumpsuits de un estampado divertido y con escote en la espalda. Tener mucho busto no significa que hay que mostrarlo, puedes optar por una opción diferente y mostrar tu espalda (aparte que hoy en dÃa existen muchos tipos de sostén con la espalda al descubierto, asà que no hay excusa).
Para las mujeres con curvas: escogimos un color azul rey muy fácil de combinar con nuestras chaquetas de cuero. El estilo que utilizó la modelo era de pierna ancha, que ayuda a vernos más altas y esbeltas - y también le marcaba la cintura para que no se perdieron sus curvas en el vestido.
La próxima vez les aviso con tiempito para que puedan verme en vivo. ¡Un abrazo grandÃsimo!

If you follow me on Instagram (@nanysklozet) you probably saw my excitement after the "Despierta America" fashion segment on Friday. This show is one of the biggest morning shows in the hispanic community in the United States. I'll share the behind the scenes pictures at the studio, but first I'm waiting for them to post the video on Univision.com so you can see it too. Btw, that's why I have so much makeup up...TV makeup is aways crazy heavy. For the show, I wanted to wear these cute shorts with a simple black blouse and some gold accessories. However since it was so cold inside the studios and chilly outside, I wore a warm knit sweater. Finally, I ditched my small bags and grabbed a big one because I was running around with so many things. I picked this gorgeous nude bag from Furor Moda. After returning the clothes the models used on the segment right after it aired, I headed to a fitting for a cool project I have this week. Si me siguen en Instagram (@Nanysklozet) tal vez vieron que estuve en el programa "Despierta América" el viernes (que emoción). Pronto compartiré fotos detrás de cámara en el estudio, estoy esperando a que suban el video en Univision.com para compartirlo en ese artÃculo también. Por eso es que estoy tan maquillada. Como van a ver, quise usar estos shorts que han visto anteriormente con una blusa negra- y ya que hacÃa frÃo en el estudio y afuera, usé este suéter vino tinto. Como tenÃa mil cosas que cargar, opté por una cartera grande clásica de color nude de Furor Moda. Después del segmento de moda, corrà a devolver las cosas que me habÃan prestado. Y luego a probarme la ropa para un proyecto muy chevere que voy a estar haciendo esta semana...ya les contaré más. Espero que estén disfrutan su domingo, yo ando en mi dÃa de trabajos para el postgrado. Les mando un abrazo inmenso.

Wednesday was a LONG day; after spending the whole night finishing up an advertising for fashion project, I had to get ready to present it (thankfully, I didn't have to since the class is big and there wasn't enough time for everybody). After that, I had to run home to get ready for a "Despierta America" interview (for those of you who aren't hispanic, it's a popular morning show on the biggest hispanic TV network. But you are not going to believe what happened, I got home and the power was out- big problem when you are expecting cameras and lights (and when you need the curling iron to get ready lol). Thankfully, one of the camera men had something on his car that transforms the battery power into electrify... so my house ended up full of cables everywhere. It was an amazing experience and I'm so grateful for it. The interview will be aired on Tuesday, but I'll be able to share it online so I'll post it here too! El miércoles fue un dÃa larguÃsimo; después de pasar toda la noche anterior terminando un proyecto de la clase de publicidad de moda, tuve que prepararme para presentarlo en la mañana (menos mal que como éramos muchos, y no alcanzó el tiempo.. me toca la semana que viene). Luego salir corriendo para mi casa porque el equipo de "Despierta America" me iba a entrevistar sobre mi experiencia como bloggera latinas en el mundo de la moda. No van a creer lo que pasó, se fue la luz en toda la zona donde vivo- y tenÃan que poner las luces, cámaras, etc (aparte que no pude ni arreglarme mucho porque no habÃa luz ni en el baño jajaja). Menos mal que uno de los camarógrafos tenÃa algo para el carro que convertÃa la energÃa de la baterÃa en electricidad, y mi casa termino llena de cables para poder prender todo. Después de varias horas, todo salió súper, la entrevista sale el martes que viene- igual estoy casi segura que la ponen online y yo la comparto con ustedes por aquÃ! Un abrazo grandÃsimo, y de verdad que mil gracias por es por ustedes que se me presentan estas oportunidades tan incr eÃbles!
