Let me introduce you to my new favorite jeans!! <3
I'm obsessed with the color, the natural waist cut, and the fun zipper detail on the ankle. High waisted jeans are very flattering for all body shapes…who doesn't want to create the illusion of long supermodel legs? My jeans and top are from the new Joan Smalls x True Religion collection. I'm so proud to see another fellow Latina succeeding in the fashion industry. The 16-piece collection has active-wear inspired pieces that can be worn anywhere and everywhere…for a hike, for a casual date, or even a night out! I know I'm going to wear these jeans SO often. ¡Les presento a mis nuevos jeans favoritos! Me fascina el color vino y su corte a la cintura…aparte tiene un detalle en la parte de atrás del tobillo. Recuerden que este modelo nos ayuda a las petite a crear la ilusión de piernas más largas. Estos son de la nueva colección de la modelo boricua Joan Smalls para True Religion. Me encanta ver Latinas exitosas en la industria de la moda, y esta hermosa modelo es la prueba de esto. La colección tiene piezas muy casuales que puedes llevar del dÃa a la noche fácilmente…hay crop-tops, suéteres, y jeans. Se que estos jeans me los voy a poner hasta más no poder pero esta vez solo los combiné con un suéter cortito y accesorios negros/plateados. ¡Les mando un abrazo grandÃsimo!! Hoy es el cumple de Gabo…¡¡¡mándenle feliz cumple!!!

I have to admit that I changed several times a day while in New York; I rarely post winter outfits and I had to take advantage of every second…and I loved getting bundled up! This look is full of versatile "must-haves". I got these jeans at H&M almost 3 years ago, I can't believe I wasn't sure about buying them. I have worn them SO MUCH over the years- note to self: double check because I think I should update its respective remix. I also love this moto jacket, the price point is a little higher. However, it is a classic piece; and investing in good quality items that we are going to war a lot is definitely okay. I took this blanket scarf to wear with one look; it was so warm and cozy that I ended up wearing it over and over. Being in New York during the coldest days they've had in 20 years made me realize how lucky we are in Miami. That's it for today… I'm out to continue working on my thesis! XOXO

Admito que estando en Nueva York me cambié varias veces al dÃa para aprovechar y tomar fotos de looks invernales. Viviendo en una ciudad donde es verano el 90% del año, me gusta poder tomar fotos bastante abrigada. Este look está lleno de piezas versátiles que han visto millones de veces en el blog. Estos jeans los compré en H&M hace casi 3 años y les he sacado muchÃsimo provecho (tengo que revisar cuando fue la última vez que hice un remix con ellos, para actualizarlos). Esta chaqueta de "cuero" es una de esas piezas que no puede faltar en tu guardarropa. La bufanda me la lleve a Nueva York para usar en un solo outfit y la terminé usando con casi todos; era la más calientita que tenÃa. De verdad que admiro a las chicas con inviernos brutales que se toman fotos en falditas como si fuese verano…por mucho que uno se queja de la humedad de Miami, somos muy afortunados de tener este clima todo el año. ¡Les mando un abrazo grandote que me toca seguir trabajando en mi tesis! BESOS.
For a couple of months, I kept looking everywhere for the perfect white vest- I love this one because it looks like it's leather when it's actually regular fabric...making it even more versatile. I originally wanted to wear the gray shirt and vest with some leopard jeans and black shoes- but I ended up switching the leopard print on the shoes and some burgundy pants. I finished the look with gold accessories and a cool black and white necklace. I wore this last Saturday to go to a Puertorican restaurant with my parents and Gabo- the food was delicious... I forgot the name of the place. Then we headed home to decorate the house and get zombified for the birthday party. Hope you have an amazing day ! XOXO

Llevaba buscando un chaleco blanco desde hace varios meses; este me encantó porque parece ser de cuero cuando en realidad es de tela...lo que lo hace más versátil aún. Originalmente tenÃa en mente esta combinación de camisa gris y chaleco blanco con pantalones de leopardo y zapatos negros- pero terminé intercambiando el estampado a los zapatos y agregando unos jeans color vino. Terminé el lok con accesorios dorados y un collar con bloques blancos/negros. Esto lo utilicé el fin de semana para ir a comer con mis papás y Gabo a un restaurante Puertoriqueño en Miami- idea de Gabo por supuesto, comimos riquÃsimo y seguimos a mi casa para decorarla y maquillarnos para mi fiesta de cumpleaños ZOMBIE. Espero que tengan un bonito dÃa...gracias por pasar por aquÃ!!

Wednesday was a LONG day; after spending the whole night finishing up an advertising for fashion project, I had to get ready to present it (thankfully, I didn't have to since the class is big and there wasn't enough time for everybody). After that, I had to run home to get ready for a "Despierta America" interview (for those of you who aren't hispanic, it's a popular morning show on the biggest hispanic TV network. But you are not going to believe what happened, I got home and the power was out- big problem when you are expecting cameras and lights (and when you need the curling iron to get ready lol). Thankfully, one of the camera men had something on his car that transforms the battery power into electrify... so my house ended up full of cables everywhere. It was an amazing experience and I'm so grateful for it. The interview will be aired on Tuesday, but I'll be able to share it online so I'll post it here too! El miércoles fue un dÃa larguÃsimo; después de pasar toda la noche anterior terminando un proyecto de la clase de publicidad de moda, tuve que prepararme para presentarlo en la mañana (menos mal que como éramos muchos, y no alcanzó el tiempo.. me toca la semana que viene). Luego salir corriendo para mi casa porque el equipo de "Despierta America" me iba a entrevistar sobre mi experiencia como bloggera latinas en el mundo de la moda. No van a creer lo que pasó, se fue la luz en toda la zona donde vivo- y tenÃan que poner las luces, cámaras, etc (aparte que no pude ni arreglarme mucho porque no habÃa luz ni en el baño jajaja). Menos mal que uno de los camarógrafos tenÃa algo para el carro que convertÃa la energÃa de la baterÃa en electricidad, y mi casa termino llena de cables para poder prender todo. Después de varias horas, todo salió súper, la entrevista sale el martes que viene- igual estoy casi segura que la ponen online y yo la comparto con ustedes por aquÃ! Un abrazo grandÃsimo, y de verdad que mil gracias por es por ustedes que se me presentan estas oportunidades tan incr eÃbles!
Today I wanted to post a quick outfit of what I wore today- the weather truly depends on the sun (it's cold in the morning and night, while a little bit hotter in the afternoon). This amazing faux fur vest from Sugarlips- which by the way is reversible- is really warm; while my family was wearing lots of layers, I was perfectly fine with this. Oh, quick note- I just wanted to remind everyone that I just brought one suitcase to my holiday trip and I know I'm going to be wearing the same items MULTIPLE times until mid-January. Hoy les traigo un outfit rapidito y con pocas fotos- el clima aquà en la montaña depende mucho del sol (en la mañana hace un frÃo horrible, luego calienta en la tarde, y apenas anochese, más frÃo). Este chaleco de Sugarlips -que por cierto es reversible, tiene como un animal print por dentro- calienta mucho más de lo que imaginaba. Mientras toda mi familia estaba con 3 suéteres, yo solo tenÃa esto puesto.. Estuvimos haciendo juegos, súper competitivos todos! Por cierto, querÃa mencionarles que voy a estar repitiendo muchÃsima ropa hasta mediados de enero ya que solo traje una maleta para mi viaje de Navidad- espero no aburrirlas y que al contrario vean que puedes hacer muchas combinaciones cuando tienes una cantidad limitada de ropa! Un abrazo inmenso... y FELIZ NAVIDAD!
There are days when I "envy" bloggers in Europe because they can take pics at any corner and it looks amazing- I love Miami; the beach, the weather, the food, the people, the latin-culture... but when it comes to taking pics for the blog, it's a different story (it's either the beach or a residential area). A couple of weeks ago, I saw Shareen (from Vintage Mavens) and Steffy (from Steffy Pros and cons), both Miami bloggers, at this spectacular place (it looks like it doesn't belong in Miami). So I asked them the address and headed there before doing some Holiday shopping (I changed my heels to flats, don't worry!). I was supposed to arrive to Venezuela yesterday, but with the big emergency at my apartment... I had to postpone the trip. And the worst part is that I'm not even staying at my place (the apt is full of big machines that are drying the walls and floor)- so I packed random clothes and I have been improvising like crazy. Hay dÃas que "envidio" a las bloggeras europeas porque pueden estar en cualquier esquina y se ve espectacular- a mi me encanta Miami; la playa, la gente, la comida, la cultura latina... pero cuando se trata de tomar fotos es un poco difÃcil (todo es playa o residencial). Hace un tiempito vi a Shareen (de Vintage Mavens) y a Steffy (de Steffy Pros and Cons), ambas blogueras de Miami, en un sitio espectacular que parece de otra epoca. Asà que decidà preguntarles donde era, y es en el sitio más inesperado (tiene casas alrededor, tipo urbanización). Fuimos a tomar fotos ahà y luego me cambié los tacones por unos flats negros para ir de compras navideñas (ya casi tengo todos los regalos). Les cuento que se supone que ya estuviera en Venezuela, pero con el desastre que pasó en mi apartamento tuve que posponer el viaje. Nisiquiera estoy durmiendo en mi casa porque hay unas máquinas industriales que llegan a 50 grados centÃgrados para secar las paredes/piso- razón por la cual tuve que hacer una pequeña maleta y he estado ingeniándomelas para actualizar el blog con la poca ropa que me traje a casa de mi novio. Por cierto, hay MUCHAS fotitos abajo, espero que les gusten! Un abrazo grandotote!
Hi everyone! I hope you had an amazing weekend- this weekend was a little chillier than usual because of a cold front or something like that. I was freezing the night of the Art Basel, everybody was wearing jackets and I... a little dress. Reason why on Sunday, I decided to wear this sweater.. AGAIN ( it's probably going to be featured on a remix soon). This time I added a little pop of color with my new JC Penney jeans- I already own a pair of red jeans from Zara but these are more burgundy/deep red! ( I tried to recreate the color on my lips by mixing a couple of lipsticks- !) I wore this to return a couple of things at the mall and then we had ice-cream. One of the things I never wanted to talk about on the blog was "religion" or "politics"- but I wanted to avoid any misunderstandings/controversies by first explaining the meaning of the sideway cross I'm wearing. I was raised Catholic, so I decided to do a quick research before wearing it- it means "earth- the in-between heaven and hell... humanity" (and it's super cute and delicate too!).
