It’s wedding season (check out my post on Jumpsuits for weddings HERE)…and I know the feeling of not knowing what to do with your hair. You dare to try something different. I was inspired by some beauty looks I've seen on the red carpet to do this bohemian but classy up-do.
As usual, I called my dear friend, Marco Peña (TRESemmé stylist) and I asked him some of his best tricks to achieve this look at home!
El otro dÃa fui a una boda y no sabÃa como peinarme. Y creo que nos pasa a todas, queremos vernos más arregladas de lo normal...pero que sea lo suficientemente fácil para hacerlo en casa. Asà que hoy les muestro como hacer este peinado bohemio pero elegante. (Hablando de bodas, les recomiendo pasar a leer este artÃculo de Jumpsuits como una opción moderna en bodas.
Como siempre, llamé a mi querido Marco Pequeña, estilista de TRESemmé para preguntarle algunos truquitos para que este look quede perfecto.
1. We know how important the first step is….using the right shampoo and conditioner like the TRESemmé Botanique Collection. I first told you about it a couple of months ago, and I love how it keeps my hair soft and hydrated. After using the conditioner, I like to use the Botanique Nourish & Replenish Hydration Mask once a week… with ingredients like coconut milk and aloe vera, it deeply conditions and hydrates. Apply generously from mid-hair down, and leave it for 5 minutes..and make sure to rinse carefully.
1. Siempre les menciono la importancia de usar un buen shampú y acondicionador...ya que es la base del peinado. Hace un par de meses les recomendé la colección TRESemmé Botanique, excelente para mantener tu cabello suave e hidratado. Después de usar el acondicionador, usa la mascarilla "Botanique Nourish & Replenish Hydration Mask" una vez a la semana. Como ingredientes como leche de coco y sábila, hidrata muchÃsimo. Aplica esta mascarilla en todo el cabello, pero enfócate de la mitad a las puntas y déjalo actuar por 5 minutos.
2. Dry your hair however you want, but aim for volume. I blow-dried it on the straight side for more control but I made sure to dry my hair while putting my it down for extra volume. I’m going to put-in extensions…not for volume but for length. As you know, I cut my hair a couple of months and these braids are going to look way better with a little bit of length.
2. Seca tu cabello al natural o con un secador a tu gusto. A mi me gusta tener un poco más control y lo sequé liso. Como pueden ver, voy a utilizar extensiones....no lo estoy haciendo por volumen si no por el largo. Como saben, hace un mar de meses me corté el cabello y estas trenzas con moño se va a ver más lindas con el cabello más largo. Pero de todas todas puedes hacer este peinado con cabello mediano.
3. Divide your hair into three sections and tease the upper section a little. You can use the TRESemmé TRES Two Extra Hold Hairspray to keep the volume up.
3. Divide tu cabello en 3 secciones; bate la parte de arriba. Utiliza una laca como el TRESemmé TRES Two Extra Hold para lograr que el volumen te dure toda la noche.
4. Do two french braids…one on each side of your head. Braids towards the middle of your hair instead of down.
4. Haz dos trenzas francesas, una de cada lado de tu cabeza. Trenza hacia la mitad de la cabeza en vez de hacia abajo.
5. Gather the two braids and upper section into one low-ponytail
5. Une las dos trenzas en una una cola de caballo baja usando una elástica.
6. Braid the ponytail while adding the elastic into one of the sections.
6. Ahora trenza la cola de caballo pero añade la elástica en una de las secciones, estoy te va a ayudar en el siguiente paso.
7. Use the elastic to wrap the braid around creating a messy bun.
7. Utilizando la elástica, dale la vuelta a las trenzas para lograr un moño despeinado.
8. Use some bobby pins to make sure the bun looks just like you want…you have a lot of freedom too..make it as messy as you want. Also, don’t be afraid to play with baby hairs or shorter hairs around the face. It brings the look to life.
8. Usando unos ganchillos para el cabello, asegura el moño a tu gusto. Este paso es muy personal, puedes hacerlo más perfecto o despeinado para un look más bohemia.
9. Para finalizar y que el look te dure toda la boda, rocÃa un poco más de la laca Two Extra Hold Hairspray.
