I live in Miami and I wear boots year-round (yes, no matter how hot it gets)…I absolutely love the look and feel they give to any outfit. They can make a pair of denim shorts look boho or edgy…and give the final touch to a simple fall outfit.
So I wanted to round out the 5 boot styles I believe every woman should have in their shoe closet.
All the styles I’m recommending are from Nordstrom Rack, aka designer brands at a great price (you can save up to 70% offf designer brands). Let me know which style is your favorite!
1) OVER THE BOOTS
I absolutely adore how over-the-knee boots look! They make such a fashionable statement, while keeping you warm.
I love wearing them with shorts, skirts and dresses + sweaters for the colder Miami days. And I always take them with me when I travel during the cold months since they look amazing with jeans and over tights.
My advice is to go for a comfortable pair with a thicker heel or a flat over the boot for more casual looks.

Animal print booties can bring to life any neutral outfit. Leopard is timeless, but I’m loving snake print even more!

My go-to color for fall is burgundy, it is extremely versatile and it has a wow-factor!
You will always get so many compliments when wearing these boots! They look great with black, white, nude, camel, gray, with florals, and plaid!

🖤One of my favorite places in Miami is definitely Wynwood. Formerly an industrial hub, Wynwood is now home to the coolest murals, restaurants, coffee shops...and best photo opps!
I love starting the day with a quick drive in my BMW, grabbing iced coffee (either at Panther Coffee or at Mister Block Coffee), and taking advantage of all the cool graffiti walls for blog pictures📸The Striped Wynwood Building is definitely a staple of the area!
But let me tell you about my outfit!!

Wynwood es de mi areas favoritas. Pocas saben pero esta zona solÃa ser un area industrial pero ahora se pueden encontrar los cafés, galerÃas, restaurantes y bares mas cool de todo Miami.
Una de mis maneras favoritas de empezar el dÃa es manejando a Wynwood, agarrando un café frÃo (porque con tanto calor en esta ciudad!). Les recomiendo pasar por panther Coffee o el Mister Block Coffee. Ambos excelentes.
También es mi zona favorita para tomar fotos para el blog por todos los murales de artistas muy reconocida .¡Este edificio de rayas es uno de los más icónicos de la ciudad!
¡Ahora hablemos de mi outfit!

I've done dozens and dozens of remixes over the years...and I have to admit I've become a little lazy with them recently. That has to STOP! I still love to wear and re-wear the same items.
I got these boots around two years ago and they are one of my favorites. I find over the knee boots a little tricky because they can look too sexy...to avoid that, I got them in a chunky heel. A chunky heel also makes the boots wearable for the everyday and comfy enough to walk around all day.
I love how they look with mini skirts and flirty dresses but they are a must in colder outfits...that extra layer of warmth is needed.

Cuando empecé este blog querÃa mostrarles como sacarle provecho a todas las piezas que tenÃan en el closet. Siempre les digo que no deben comprar nada que no puedan usar al menos 3 maneras totalmente distintas.
Con el pasar de lo años creo que he hecho docenas y docenas de remixes... especialmente de aquellas básicas. Y admito que me he puesto un poco floja con esto...pero YA NO MAS. TodavÃa me encanta usar y re-usar piezas...y no es hasta que lo pongo todo en un artÃculo que se nota.
Estas botas las compré hace dos años y siguen siendo de mis favoritas. Este tipo de bota pueden ser complicadas, porque se pueden ver muy Julia Roberts en "Pretty Woman". Para evitar esto, busca aquellas que tengan poco tacón o uno ancho como este. Aparte que este tacón las hace muy cómodas para usar todo el dÃa.
Me gusta mucho como se ve con mini faldas y vestidos...pero también son perfectas al añadir esa capa extra de calor en climas frÃos.

This one is going to be a short post BUT we got a freaking COLD FRONT!!
It's not super cold..but it feels chilly for us crazy Miamians...which means "IT'S SWEATER WEATHER". I went with some basic boyfriend jeans and black sweater...but i love the pop of print of the plaid bag. XOXO
Ps: Excuse the weird green hair. I personally don't like it...so keep it polite please haha. I have to let it fade as much as possible before trying to go back to dark.

¡¡Por fin llego el frÃo a Miami!!! No es frÃo frÃo...pero al menos nos podemos poner un suéter sin derretirnos. Asà que para un par de diligencias me puse estos jeans y un suéter negro...pero el toque divertido lo da la cartera de cuadritos. ¡Les mando un besotote!
Pd: se que mi cabello esta de un tono rarÃsimo. No me gusta pero para nada, asà que no sean malitas conmigo sobre el tema. Tengo que dejar que se aclare lo más posible antes de poder tinturarlo.
Like I told you, for this New York Fashion Week, I was so happy and grateful to partner again with the amazing team at TRESemmé, the official hair care sponsor of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. On the third day of NYFW, I visited the TRESemmé Salon at Lincoln Center again. I asked Yojanse for a perfectly (un)Done effortless ponytail.
To recreate this hairstyle:
- Prep by applying TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Sea Foam evenly through the hair to create natural looking waves.
- Wrap sections of hair around a heated curling iron- make sure to twirl away from your face.
- Gather hair at the nape of the neck and tie with an elastic.
- Take a section of hair and wrap it around the ponytail to hide the elastic.
- Pull a few pieces of hair to frame the face.
- Finish the look with TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Illuminating Shine Spray to add a little bit of shine to the ponytail.
For my outfit: I wore this gorgeous Desigual coat (which I wore a couple of times because of how warm it was!); I paired it with some black leggings and black booties. We headed to Central Park to see how pretty it looks with snow and took advantage of the scenery to take pictures!

Como les conté, esta Semana de la Moda en Nueva York, estuve muy feliz y agradecida de poder trabajar con el increÃble equipo de TRESemmé. El tercer dÃa de NYFW, visité el salón que tenÃan en Lincoln Center para que me peinaran. Le pedà a Yojanse (un dominicano simpatiquÃsimo) que me hiciera una cola de caballo baja. Ese mismo dÃa vimos un peinado muy similar en la presentación de Banana Republic. Me encanta este peinado porque es arregladito pero relajado al mismo tiempo…le da un toque glam a cualquier look casual.
Para recrear este peinado:
- Empieza aplicando TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Sea Foam en todo el cabello para ayudar a darle volúmen a tu cabello.
- Utiliza una rizadora sin clip y enrolla mechones a tu gusto. Si deseas, puedes abrir las ondas con tus dedos al terminar de rizar.
- Amarra tu cabello en una cola de caballo baja con una colita/liga transparente.
- Esconde la liga transparente con un mechón de cabello.
- Dale un poco de brillo a tu cola de caballo con TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Illuminating Shine Spray.
En cuanto a mi outfit: estuve usando este abrigo de Desigual muchÃsimo (era de los más calientitos que lleve); en esta ocasión lo combiné simplemente con unos jeans negros y unos botines negros. Quisimos dar un paseo por Central Park porque siempre ese ve hermosÃsimo con nieve; y aprovechamos para tomar un par de fotos con esa vista tan espectacular.

A couple of days ago, ICONICA (one of my favorite Venezuelan brands) sent me a package full of surprises...including these awesome plaid shorts. The fun part about the plaid print is that it can go classic, edgy, or just casual. I didn't plan these pictures at all; I had an important meeting and I just grabbed the first thing I saw (I couldn't wait to wear the shorts so they were the must piece in the look). After the meeting, I met my mom at the club and we just decided to take the pics there in the middle of the golf course. I'm so excited, today I'm going to see Gaby after almost a month..and we are ready for some vacation time together! XOXO

Hace unos dÃas me llegó un paquetito de ICONICA; una marca venezolana que me encanta y siempre me consienten cuando estoy en Venezuela. En el paquete estaban estos shorts de cuadritos; me parece que este estampado especÃficamente se puede ver bastante elegante, casual, o hasta rockero..depende de como se utilice. Este outfit no fue planificado para nada; me vestà en dos segundos para una reunión y esto fue lo primero que vi que me querÃa poner. Luego aproveché que fui a buscar a mi mamá al club y ahà me tomó las fotos rápido en pleno campo de golf. ¡¡Estoy muy pero muy emocionada, en un ratito llega Gaby y ya estamos listos para irnos de vacaciones!! ¡¡Un abrazo grandÃsimo!!

You might already know and I'm sure you are getting ready for Thanksgiving and all the amazing Black Friday deals. I'll tell you more about this event in particular on Thursday but A&F is going to have amazing deals starting this Thursday at 8pm. In this outfit I'm wearing almost everything from A&F and I was so impressed by the trendy but still versatile items of the store.
Is it me or the 90s seem to everywhere? and I'm loving it. I have been wearing this plaid shirt around my waist for a couple of days. I forgot how comfy it is...you get cold..and there it is!! I also love this cute sweater with a puppy (it's also very warm... thankfully I wore it to the movies and it was freezing there!!) Finally I really like the trend of wearing little girl's socks with boots...it definitely edges the grunginess of a boot. Hope you are having a great day! XOXO

Como ya deben saber, este semana es Thanksgiving y deben estar super pendientes de Black Friday y los mega descuentos. El mismo jueves le contaré en detalle pero A&F va a tener unos descuentos que no se pueden perder desde las 8pm de este jueves. En esta outfit me uno a A&F, quedé impresionada con la variedad de piezas - no solo versátiles sino también a la moda.
¿Son ideas mÃas o en todas las tiendas se siente una vibra noventosa? Y yo encantada....Llevo ya dos dÃas utilizando esta camisa de cuadros a la cintura.. y no me acordaba lo cómodo que es utilizar camisas o sueteres amarrados a la cintura (si te da frÃo, ¡listo, ahà lo tienes!). También me encantó este suéter de A&F que dice " I don't fetch", es calientito (menos mal que lo utilicé para ir al cine...porque sino me derrito en Miami). También me gusta mucho la tendencia de usar medias de niñita con botas- siento que le da un toque más femenino a las mismas. ¡¡¡Un abrazo grandÃsimo!!!

Gabo hasn't stopped wearing his combat boots; and they are a great option for men who don't want to wear sneakers all the time but they don't want to look too dressy in work shoes. Also, getting a couple of V neck tees is a great idea; they are extremely versatile and they have it at stores like H&M for $5. Finally, encourage your boyfriend/brothers/friends to stop by their uncles/grandpas/dads' closets... the belt that my boyfriend is wearing was his grandfathers, and it's still as current. If you liked the look, don't forget to share it with the men in your life!! XOXO

Menos mal que Gabo encontró sus botas porque no se las ha quitado; y son una buena opción para hombres que no quieren estar en zapatos de goma pero tampoco quieren estar en zapatos de vestir. También les recomiendo a todos los hombres tener varias camisitas en V blancas; en H&M las venden solo por $5 y van con todo. Finalmente, recomienden a sus novios pasar por los closets de sus abuelos/tÃos/padrinos/papas... la correa de mi novio era de su abuelo! No olviden compartir esta sección de "His Klozet" con los hombres de su vida!! Un abrazo inmenso!

I have been trying to turn Saturdays into #hisklozet 's official day (so now we have Wednesday Remix and HisKlozet Saturdays). Gabo had been looking for a pair of boots to wear with his pants since forever- thankfully the weather in Miami is a little better by now (well, thankfully we are indoors with A.C most of the time). Last week we went to the mall twice because of the event with Baker and the collab with Loft; so we stopped by Aldo. There, he finally found the boots he wanted...and at a reasonable price. It's crazy how men don't have that many affordable options when it comes to shoes...we, women. are lucky! The shirt Gabo is wearing came in a goodie bag from Swim Week...every time he wears it, someone compliments him- so he decided to feature it on the blog haha. Hope you are having an amazing weekend...it feels like a Monday for me, I had classes all day. Yeah, I started a Masters degree...but I'll tell you more about later! XOXO

Y poco a poco los sábados se ha convertido en el dÃa de #HISKLOZET. Gabo llevaba tiempo buscando unas botas para usar sus pantalones- y menos mal que la temperatura ha mejorado un poco en Miami. La semana pasada estuvimos en el centro comercial tanto por el evento de Baker como por la colaboración con Loft, y pasamos por Aldo. Ahà finalmente encontró unas botas como las que estaba buscando y a un precio relativamente económico para ser botas de hombre. Definitivamente las mujeres tenemos mucha suerte en cuanto a los zapatos, hay muchÃsima variedad de tiendas con zapatos económicos. La camisa que está usando Gabo me la dieron en una bolsita de regalo durante una pasarela en la Semana de la Moda de Miami- pero cada vez que se la ponÃa, todo el mundo le decÃa algo de la camisa. Espero que estén disfrutando su fin de semana- para mi hoy fue un lunes, porque tuve mi primera clase de postgrado (siii empecé un postgrado, ya les contaré más)..

A couple of days ago, I told Gabo that we needed to take pics for "his klozet" (which is now officially on Saturdays). Sometimes I help him get dressed, but I do.. I end up wanting to wear something similar- this day wasn't the exception.So today's his klozet is focused on how you can get inspiration from each other..and even share pieces (well, we can "steal" their clothes...the other way around is a little weird haha). Today's looks are basically the same: black shorts, graphic white tee, and a plaid shirt. Gabo went for a sporty look with sneakers and I went for a grungier look with boots.
I hope you like this idea! Gabo will still have his own segment...I was just the +1 on this one. However, let me know if you want to see more "unisex" fashion.

Hace unos dÃas le digo a Gabo tenÃamos que tomar fotos para "his klozet" y que usara su camisa de cuadritos porque está de moda. Pero me pasó lo mismo que en Toledo cuando lo "ayudé" a vestirse, terminé antojándome de utilizar lo mismo que él. Asà que el foco del "his klozet"de hoy es demostrarle que pueden tomar ideas uno del otro para vestir, y hasta pueden compartir piezas (bueno, nosotras podemos quitarle ropa a ellos...al revés es como más difÃcil). Hoy la base de ambos looks es la misma: shorts negros, franela blanca con un dibujo, y camisa de cuadritos. Yo me fuà por un look más grunge con botines negros- mientras que Gabo mantuvo el look más deportivo con zapatos de goma.
Espero que les hayan gustado los looks de hoy- Gabo seguirá con su sección de "his klozet"...hoy yo fui como la acompañante. Pero dÃganme si quieren que haga más moda "unisex".
