Another year...another birthday together!

Gabe turned 31 the day of these photos.  I always say it but I can't believe how fast time is going by. When we met at 17-18, we really had no idea of everything that was about to come.

Last year, during his birthday, he had a broken leg and I was still bleeding from the miscarriage (TMI, I know- but you can imagine how hard it was).

On the contrary, this year, we were full of hope. We celebrated with friends and his family. It's definitely amazing how things can change in a year, how we have grown so much, but at the same time we are the same.

Ok I'm getting a little bit deep right here. But I'll continue to daydream about his 32th birthday and how it will also include a tiny little him.

Circus Birthday party

Monday, October 31, 2016

I love birthdays...and I absolutely love my birthday! I love having friends over, I love celebrating with my loved ones, I love planning a party...everything!

This year was a little different: I asked my husband to plan it for me...especially because I'm always planning his birthdays. So I knew I was having a party...but I didn't know the theme.

Yes, the theme. Themes are my thing. All my friends know I mean business when I pick a theme. They know we go all out and since it's so close to Halloween (Oct 25th), nobody really complains!

Okay back to Gabe, he planned this whole theme where the party was a circus, I was the ringleader and everyone had to be dressed as animal. I had a blast...I feel so lucky to have the bestest of friends! <3

A little party never killed nobody: my 1920s BDAY party!

Monday, October 28, 2013

Remember my birthday party last year? I was about ZOMBIES ...and do you remember the year before? It was an 80s party. Yes, as you can see...I absolutely love themed parties and I make all my friends dress up. This year I was so inspired by the Great Gatsby movie that I wanted to do it about the 20s. Also, it was perfect because it was my 25th bday on the 25th and I wanted to party like it was 1925. Even though I knew the theme for months...I didn't get my costume until the day before (totally my fault). I found this fringed dress, a pearl necklace, and a feather. However, Marcos Carrasquillo, celebrity hairstylist and hair genius, helped me with the final touch: my hair...he did such an amazing job (If you ever need a hairstylist in Miami..he's SO amazing).  As far as my makeup: I did a smoky eye and a dark lip, which was how they did they makeup back then. I hope you like the pictures, many sweet Miami bloggers stopped by so I'm going to leave their links too! Thanks for all the sweet birthday wishes via Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram! XOXO

I was so excited about showing you my "new"ombré hair in an actual post that I forgot to share this look. This look is almost a month old (yes, yes...bad blogger. But remember I was planning ahead in order to keep the blog updated while I didn't have Gabo with every day  to take pictures). I wore this at the beginning of March to go to one of my closest friend's birthday. We went to an Argentinian stake restaurant- it ended up been a little chilly that night, so i added a faux-leather jacket (But it wasn't originally part of the look). I absolutely love this white skirt, it has a cool texture and it goes with so many different things.  I'm been wearing this shoes and bag non-stop (I brought the bag to NYC because of its versatility...so you'll see it a lot more)...and well the shoes are just too cool to not wear them! Hope you are having an amazing week! I'm exhausted because of the internship- it's a LOT of work and for many many hours. Hope you liked this look! XOXO

ZOMBIE PARTY!

Sunday, October 28, 2012

Photobucket

My last 5 birthday parties have had a theme- I have to admit I love getting dressed and making my friends do it....since it's my birthday, they can't say no. This year's inspiration was the TV show "The Walking Dead"- so my house was full of zombies and a couple of humans running away from us. So let me tell you a little about my makeup/wardrobe. When I think of zombies, I think of pale/green/dirty skin so I tried recreating that. Also, I feel like they always have blood around their mouth- so why not adding a crazy wound in the area that showed teeth and everything...for that I used liquid latex- for the teeth I used black and white eyeliner, and purple/red lipliner. For my arms and legs I used red/purple cream makeup; and finally I added fake blood for the last touches in the shirt and wounds. As far as the clothing, I used a simple white tee for two reasons: first I wanted the blood to show, and second it was very affordable enough to not feel bad for destroying it. As soon as I saw this bronze skirt I knew it was perfect for the costume, it has like a scratched texture. Gabo wanted to buy an apocalypse backdrop to take fun pictures, and that was exactly what we did every time someone arrived. I hope you enjoy the pics! XOXO

Oh I almost forgot...I'm not wearing any type of contact lens, I'm just rolling my eyes backwards for the pics!

___________

BIRTHDAY GIRL!

d2-1

On the last actual outfit, I was wearing this romper for a night out- however, I said I would show you how I wore it during the day. I was supposed to save it for later since the blog is looking very repetitive (I don't know what's up but apparently I've been doing a couple of day-to-night transformations). Since the cut-outs of the rompers make it dressier, I tried balanced it out with very casual pieces like a panama hat a comfy flats. Talking about these timeless black flats, I swear this are the comfiest flats I own... I take them everywhere and they are perfect for walking around or doing errands. Well... today is my birthday!! I had classes in the morning and then Sandy, the tropical storm, arrived... so it was very chill and laid-back! But I'm celebrating it this weekend..so get ready for some fun pictures- I love theme parties and this one is going to be FUN! Thank you so much for all your sweet birthday wishes on Twitter, FB and Instagram! YOU ROCK! XOXO

Besos y Abrazos!

You must be bored about me talking about my birthday again! I love birthdays and I promised I will show you my gifts from my parents, boyfriend and friends. Above you can see the birthday card I got, I thought it was SO cool! It comes on a regular envelope but when you open it, it becomes 3D box with "balloons" and everything! I love cards, I keep them all in a little box and I love to read them from time to time! More pics below!
