For the second part of our trip to México…we were joined by my parents and we headed to Mahekal Beach Resort!! It was also my dad’s birthday…so this trip as extra-special!
First impression: the resort was SO, SO, SO beautiful! It has a bohemian, carefree vibe that mixes Mexican traditions with modern and luxe details. All the rooms are palapa-style…and ours was just a few steps from the ocean (dreamy!)! Each room has an individual terrace with personal hammocks <3 I also love that they don’t have TVs on the rooms, so you can really “unplug” and enjoy a good book by the ocean.

We were welcomed with a plate of cheese and wine…which we ate while catching up with my parents! Then we changed clothes and got ready for a Cocktail Mixology Lesson at Las Olas Restaurant.
We tried different cocktails and learned how to do them (I wish I would have brought a notebook to write it all down!) My favorite was one with passionfruit and mint leaves….which was a perfect match for my first mani “This Cost Me a Mint” by OPI SoftShades. The SoftShades collection is OPI’s newest collection..with the prettiest pastels- which were the perfect finishing touch to all my tropical vacation outfits.

After that, we stayed at “Las Olas” Restaurant for a late lunch…we tried some high end “land and sea” dishes! We started with a fish&shrimp ceviche that was out of this world! We had most meals at this restaurant because it was right by our room, the infiniti pool, and the ocean…perfect spot!

Even though the Mahekal feels like a private little piece of paradise, the famous “5ta Avenida” is right across the corner. I changed my mani to “One Chic Chick”…a yellow pastel from Soft Shades and I put flow dress and espadrilles and I was ready for whatever 5th Avenue had ready for me. There are so many restaurants, little shops (and big shops, there is a mall in the middle of this long avenue), small nightclubs. I’m always in awe with Mexican artistry…I love their culture and I love how proud they are of it. I fell in love with a hipster Friday art…but instead I got a calavera with a flower design! Then, with all the salsa beats around us, I made Gabriel dance with me a little…this rarely happens so I had to take advantage.

I’m such a caribbean girl… I love the ocean, I love the sound of the waves…my favorite color is that turquoise blue of the perfect Playa del Carmen Beaches (and don’t get me wrong, I was spoiled by some of the most gorgeous beaches in Venezuela…but Playa del Carmen and Margarita are head to head!). To match the gorgeous clouds and white sand, I put on the “It's In The Clouds” shade from OPI…and I mean it, my head was really in the clouds <3 How can you not be inspired with this view
This is just part one of our stay at the Magical Mahekal. Stay tuned for part two! <3 You can read more about the Magical Mahekal by clicking here.

You are looking really pretty. I just love your dresses collection. Need to accessorize these dresses. I have a best collection of beaded clutches here for these dresses.
