A couple of weeks ago I was part of the "AVM fashionista challenge" with Stephanie and Kelly- the challenge was finding a head-to-toe outfit under $300. However, that was the easy part; each of us had to choose a certain trend and we could only shop at 5 stores (mine were Zara, BCBG, Betsey Johnson, Macys and Reiss).. and the stressful part was that we had to be ready in 2 hours!
When I got there, Kelly was wearing an almost identical outfit: red pants, nude shirt, leopard shoes, and a bronze-ish bag ( I guess, great fashionistas think alike). Then we chose the trends, I was the last one to choose and I wanted to challenge myself (even though I later regretted not getting the "floral" trend). I picked "Back to the 50's" and my description talked a lot about the "peplum silhouette".
My plan was to go to all the stores and find a peplum skirt/dress and build the outfit around it. However, there was a slight problem- the only one I could find was in Betsey Johnson and it was over $270 ( meaning no money for shoes/bag/accessories)I asked on twitter if someone could check out Macys.com and see if they had something- guess what? my phone died and I couldn't see that Madona's Material girl collection had one for only $19.99!When I was running out of time, I found an inspired peplum skirt- it's not completely peplum but it's reminiscent of it! I run out of time and I couldn't get a necklace :(.
It was definitely a fun experience- I've never gone shopping with a time limit and it was SO stressful! Then we changed back and headed to have a well deserved dinner! Thanks for stopping by! XOXO

Last week I told you that I spent my Sunday morning with Tati from Furormoda.com taking pictures for the Holiday collection. That day we woke up at 6 am so we could get to the park/beach before everyone gets there. I changed there so many times- this one was actually the last look. i was dying to show you these pictures but I promised Tati that I wouldn't post them before her. I will be sharing all the pics but you can see the lookbook below *just hit play*. Since we starting taking pictures, I wanted to go the beach (and the sea looks gorgeous too!). When we arrived at the beach, there were a lot of flowers on the sand ( I think someone got engaged the night before) So we started playing around with them! I'm in love with these top, it's longer in the back and has cut outs with a lace detail- and the shade of blue is just gorgeous! I hope you like the pics!
XOXO

More exciting news- I'm so grateful with Chictopia because they have considered me for a couple of projects lately! Chictopia is not only about sharing your every day looks and getting rewarded for it- now you can also SHOP! The best part about it is that you find unique and vintage pieces from sellers all over! To celebrate the holidays, Chictopia introduced "12 days of Chic"- starting today (Nov 28th), sellers will sell items that fit a specific theme (there's a new theme every day!). Algunas de las tiendas participando son: American Apparel, Need Supply, Pixie Market, Storets, and Shop Akira. I got a couple of pieces from the Chictopia store last week and I can't wait for them to arrive!

I hate that I always do the things last minute- and I spent the whole day doing a project for my Fabrics and Textiles class and its due TOMORROW! I woke up early and I headed to Michaels to get all the materials I needed- then I stopped by the supermarket and did a couple of errands. What I like most about this dress is that you can dress it up for a special occasion- but it's also comfy enough for everyday (and the best part, it's from a latino designer: Julian Chang-via Flechada!). I decided to pair it with my nude platforms and a big messenger bag- I also added a couple of turquoise accents! I came back home and didn't stand up for hours finishing up the weaving project! I think it ended up super cute- after turning it in for school, I'm going to gift it to a baby cousin who is about to be born ( I'm trying to upload it to twitter and share it here!) HAVE A GREAT WEEK!)

A couple of weeks ago, I've shared some exciting news about being part of Chictopia + JCPenney Holiday campaign. Reason why this week I headed to the closest JC Penney and I found some amazing things- specially from the MNG by Mango collection. There I fell in love with these gold jeans and the cat eye sunglasses. this time I wanted to pair them with some classic pieces like the quilted bag, black pumps, a simple tee and a black blazer- that way the pants stand out completely. I wore this to have lunch with a couple of friends yesterday! How would you wear these gold jeans?
ps: remember that I'll be giving away badges to those wearing JC Penney on Chictopia! When you get the badge, you also get 1,500 points! (which equal to $15 that you can use to get clothing or accessories!)

This is my sixth "Thanksgiving" in the US- and I'm still not used to celebrating it. But who needs a excuse to celebrate and eat AMAZING food? The past three years, I have spent thanksgiving with my boyfriend's family and they are from Puerto Rico- so the food and traditions are more puertorican than american. My bf's mom cooks delicious, as you can see on the pics below.. everything looks (and was) SO good! After having an early dinner- or more like a lunch- we passed out for a couple of hours! Then at night we went to the movies to see Breaking Dawn (I'm not a Twilight freak but I did enjoy the books- specially the last one so my expectations were high!). Do you celebrate thanksgiving? If you do, I hope you had an amazing one! Anyways.. HAPPY FRIDAY! xoxo

¿Celebran thanksgiving? ¿Cómo la pasaron? FELIZ VIERNES! :)
I don't why I didn't post this outfit from Chicago before!! But here it is... better late than never. After spending the whole day in blogger conferences, we headed back to the hotel and the Mary Kay suite to get ready for the LATISM Gala Awards. We had dinner while they were giving awards to the best latinos in social media the past year. The best part is that we got to spend time with other bloggers as you can see below. I decided to wear this teal dress (seen HERE) but to show its versatility, I wore it with black/silver accessories. Also, I "stole" Flor's boots again- I was going to freeze with my simple ankle booties! I hope you are having an amazing week! XOXO

Since I saw Alexa Chung wearing a sweater with a button up shirt, I wanted to try it. It looks so preppy- like something you would have to wear as a school uniform- but modern. This is what I wore to school last week- it's so cold there that the sweater worked perfectly and I can fit absolutely everything- even my laptop. I decided to put my hair up so the detail on the collar was visible and I kept the accessories as simple as possible (just the leopard watch and pearl earrings). I hope you have an amazing week! Don't forget to enter the thanksgiving giveaway with ROMWE.

I just wanted to post this outfit before going to sleep- and I have to wake up super early tomorrow. I'm doing a photoshot for Furor's holiday collection. This is what I wore to go to the mall and then have dinner with my bf's family. I also have this shirt in beige and I love the movement it has (and it's very versatile too). I hope you are having an amazing weekend and I really wanted to thank you for visiting the blog! XOXO

:)One of the things that worries me as a "blogger" is boring my readers- reason why I try to make every piece as versatile as possible. Some days, I get so frustrated because I feel like I'm going to let you down or that you are going to thing that I need to try different combos or something. But at the same time I feel like that's what differentiates me from the big fashion bloggers out there who never wear the same thing twice. My goal has always been showing that you don't need to buy new clothes to feel like you have a huge wardrobe. Well.. about my day: we are doing a couple of changes to the apartment so the past couple of days I had to stay home with the construction working. However, I sneaked out to have lunch with Gabo! It's been raining non-stop- so I wanted to wear my chunky sweater again but I belted it this time! HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!
