REMIX: Crochet kimono

Wednesday, April 29, 2015

miami fashion blogger, nany's klozet, crochet kimono, different ways to wear, remix

This kimono is definitely one of my favorite pieces…I had to triple check because I was sure I had done a remix with it before (maybe I've worn it even more times that the ones pictured on the blog). But I'm really happy about how this looks..there's a little bit of everything: shorts, pants, dresses, jumpsuits, swimsuits…and hats, turbans, textures, prints, etc.

My favorite is the one with the swimsuit because it was such a fun post (more editorial-ish) to do…but now it's your turn to tell me…which is your favorite?

_______

Nuestra Belleza Latina viewing party with Colgate Optic White

Nuestra Belleza Latina viewing party with Colgate Optic White, fashion blogger, miami fashion blogger, nany's klozet

Hey girls! How are you? As I shared on my “5 favorite trends for Spring” video, I’m one of the Colgate®Optic White® Chicas Blogueras-  with the lovely Kika Rocha from “De Tacones y más”. I’m very excited and grateful about this opportunity because Colgate is a brand that I’ve used since I was a little girl and a Colgate toothpaste was a must in my house. So get ready because tons of tips and content will be coming througout the year on how to highlight your smile…which of course is OUR best accessory.

A couple of weeks ago, I attended my first event with Colgate® Optic White® to see the Nuestra Belleza Latina season finale. It was a night of beauty, pampering, and fashion.  We were joined by some of Miami’s most well-known stylists. Claudia Alonso, celebrity fashion stylist, showed us the latest fashion accessories and how to pull together any look, from day to night. Also, Gina Dearing and Osira gave us the best makeup tricks to highlight our brilliant smile. TIP TIP: to make your teeth even whiter, wear lipsticks with a blue understone instead of an orange undertone.  But if you are like me and you don’t want to worry about undertones, get whiter teeth in just three days by using Colgate® Optic White® PLATINUM Express White Toothpaste; it has 2x more Hydrogen Peroxide, making it Colgate’s fastest whitening toothpaste. I’ve been using it and I saw results.

I really had a blast, many blogger friends attended and I loved seeing them and catching up with them. But let’s talk about Nuestra Belleza Latina…were you surprised Francisca won? I was a little but I was so glad and happy for her. I love when girls that do not necessarily fit the standard beauty prove that class, humour, and a big smile, can help you achieve anything you put your mind to. XOXO

_____

¡Hola chicas!

miami fashion blogger, miami, fashion, forever 21, outfit, guess, vintage, coach, car show, rebel by mac, brown hat, fringe, sperry, black boots, nany's klozet, daniela ramirez

This Sunday was probably the hottest day in a while. I live by the sea and regularly you feel a cool breeze coming from the ocean… that day was a HOT wind coming from the Everglades (which is Miami's swamp on the West side). I wore this to go to a car show with my dad and Gaby… well, there were also boats and motorcycles. If you follow me on Snapchat (danidaniramirez), I shared some pictures from there..there were some of the coolest vintage cars I've ever seen. It was so hot that I wanted to change as soon as I got home..which I did to have dinner with my two favorite men :) XOXO

________

¡BESOS!

Plaid for Brunch….

plaid shirt, forever 21, shoedazzle brunch, shoedazzle saturdays, f21xme, asos, ripped jeans, black jeans, miami fashion blogger, miami, fashion, outfit

Yesterday I went to a Shoedazzle Brunch with an awesome group of Miami Fashion Bloggers. We ate at a restaurant in Cora Gables called "Love is Blind"; if you go, try the waffles…everything was delicious but the waffles were ridiculously good. All the bloggers were wearing shoes from the latest Shoedazzle collection and it was fun to see how everyone wore their pair. I chose these because they can be easily worn with edgy outfits or with extra feminine ones. The day before I did a little bit of damage at Forever 21; I especially got some basic tees and accessories (rings, rings, and more rings… I'm always losing them!). After that, I spent my afternoon catching up with the sweet and gorgeous D'ana from Collections and Volumes and Jana from OJ and Cigs…check out their blogs! XOXO

_____

Cafeina with COVER FX

Saturday, April 25, 2015

The past Thursday I attended an event at Cafeina (Wynwood) with Cover FX and an amazing group of media, bloggers, and influencers. I really liked the concept of Cover FX Custom Cover Drops; where you can basically personalize all your makeup. For example, if your foundation is a little too light or too dark, you add a drop and it will make it your exact shade. A makeup expert told me my exact shade (N35 in case you want a reference).  Since the whole concept was about personalizing, there was a Sangria bar where you could add different fruits and flavors to your drink. Well, about my look…I'm all about darker looks lately. I guess this season, the whole "SPRING" thing with pastels is not really happening for me. So I ended up wearing an all-black look with a gorgeous embellished kimono from Asos. What do you think!? Thanks for stopping by! XOXO

_______

Remix: Gladiator Sandals

Wednesday, April 22, 2015

Gladiadors are one of those type of shoes that you either LOVE or HATE! I had a short pair but I wasn't sure about a tall style like this one. Especially because of all that rules that short girls shouldn't since the straps make our legs look shorter….but guess what? I am short and proud…no matter if I wear nude heels all day every day, that is not going to change (but hey sign me up if there is a new surgery to add inches…just kidding). My point is: let's wear whatever we like without thinking if we look tall, short, skinny, whatever.

Back to the REMIX...Which look is your favorite?

________

Florida Motel….

Tuesday, April 21, 2015

This is from our last day in St. Augustine; we saw this small pink motel that reminded us of places Nasty Gal used to shoot at..so why not, we stopped there before heading back home. I wore this in St. Augustine to have breakfast and then basically took all accessories out to be comfy in the car (pillow and blanket included). Would you wear this overalls? I'll wear it again so to do a REMIX! XOXO

______

¡BESOS!

Beverly Terrace

Monday, April 20, 2015

Miami is a relatively new city…why sucks in a way, nothing like that gorgeous Europe architecture! But from time to time we find little places with some history; this building was built in the 30s in the middle of a main street of Miami called Biscayne Blvd. It was part of a 4 building set in each corner of an intersection but only two exist nowadays. I love the vintage feeling, Art Deco-ish, and I liked how it looked with my bohemian look. I know some bloggers that plan their look with a location in mind; I just wear what I feel and then drive around trying to find something that matches.  I paired this flowy dress with my favorite hat and some gladiator sandals. Talking about gladiator sandals,  I was supposed to do a Remix last Wednesday with them….but I wanted to wear them again. So stay tuned for 10 ways I've worn this sandals! Have an amazing day and thanks for visiting the blog! XOXO

_____

Strand in the wind...

Sunday, April 19, 2015

As I mentioned on a recent post…I rarely wear jumpsuits because they are always too long on me but I guess the 70s trend has me obsessed with them lately. I have to admit they are very comfortable (well, minus that moment you realize you drank too much water and you basically have to get fully naked to go to the bathroom…too much information but you girls know it's true hahaha).  To take this jumpsuit from elegant-ish to boho, I added a long crochet kimono (which is one of my favorites…I have to double check if I have done a remix with it). I gave it an edgier vibe with the dark lips, the choker, and random braids on my hair. I wore this on Thursday to go to an event with Michael Kors for its new nail polishes…I went for a nude color called HINT, gorgeous! Today is Sunday but I have so much to do for the blog… a fun fun fun video and some pictures! Have a fantastic Sunday! LOVE YOU ALL!

________

¡ABRAZOS GIGANTES, l@S quiero!

Call It Spring...

Saturday, April 18, 2015

Hey girls! Happy Saturday! When it comes to shoes, nude wedges are definitely a must-have for Spring/Summer. This style makes your legs longer and they are comfy enough to wear all day and all night (and that's not even mentioning the fact that you can wear them with almost anything).  I've also realized that I always wear floral/feminine pieces with this cargo jacket… I guess it's a way of balancing out the masculinity of a military-ish piece. I also wanted to tell you a little about this new handbag line called 3 Lily Pads; it is designed by an Argentinean designer called Fiorella Di Lorenzo- whom by the way has a crazy resume in the fashion industry (she thought fashion design for 20 years and even wrote a book on textiles!). The handbag line has classic shapes but with fun prints and textures…I love the denim on this one! Hope you are having an amazing weekend! XOXO

___

¡Hola! ¡FELIZ SABADO!

Plaid + Jean

Friday, April 17, 2015

I seriously need to start scheduling the post ahead of time. Generally, I take the pictures in advance and write the copy of the post the actual day I publish it. But lately… I don't know, my head has been all over the place! I have many looks to publish and I keep forgetting to update the blog!  wore this dress last week with a very feminine look. But the print of the dress can be edge up too with the right pieces. Reason why I went for an oversized jean jacket and some Dr. Martens boots. Excuse my hair, I guess the humidity is already in Miami and it was not cooperating with me that day. Semi solution: a half-pony! I can't believe it is already Friday! Have an amazing weekend everyone!!

_________

The pastel blue lace dress...

Tuesday, April 14, 2015

The best formula for those days you want to look dressy without over thinking what to wear is : cute dress + killer heels + small bag. I really liked this dress because I saw myself wearing it in multiple occasions; it's perfect for a date night but also cool enough to wear with your friends…and it's even appropriate for a lunch with the in-laws! I'm "terrible" at accessorizing lace…especially when it is as pretty as this lace. I feel like lace doesn't need a lot of accessories, I always let that fabric speak for itself. I wore this for an event but I ended up changing …so if you see me wearing this around, pretend you didn't see it on the blog! XOXO

_________

¡BESOS!

GUESS Spring Brunch

Monday, April 13, 2015

A couple of weeks ago, I had an amazing opportunity to travel to NYC to shoot a fun video with GUESS, Style Coalition, Luanna Perez, Lo Bosworth, and Marianna Hewitt.

Everything was shot at the Beaumarchais, a French restaurant known for its fantastic brunches. When I got there, the first thing I did was try on a couple of GUESS dresses; there were so many beautiful and sexy dresses that I wasn’t sure what I was going to end up wearing for the shoot. I went for a floral maxi dress with a backless detail. I love the versatility of this dress; I could wear it to the beach with sandals and a fedora, to brunch, and even to go out with my friends at night by pairing it with some killer heels like the fringe ones that I was wearing. Fringe is one of the biggest trends for Spring; so if you are looking to add it into your wardrobe, these heels are the perfect and subtle way to do so.

In Miami, it already feels like Summer; but Spring in NYC is a little chillier than what I am used to which is why I also added a leather jacket into the mix.  This GUESS jacket is also cropped; perfect for petite figures like mine. I always say that a leather jacket is a must-have. I loved this one so much that I wore it right after the shoot with jeans and a tee to go to the airport. The final touches: a timeless black bag and a pop of color with this GUESS orange watch.

The girls (and the whole team) were so sweet; it was an honor shooting with women I’ve been following for a while. I hope you all like the pictures and video **below** <3 <3 XOXO <3 <3

_______

BESOS.

Fountain of Youth...

Sunday, April 12, 2015

The third day on St. Augustine, we went to an archeological park called "The Fountain of Youth". Being a 100% honest, we thought St. Augustine was going to be a little different. We thought it was going to be a small OLD city with tons of history…instead we found a mini disney. It is very tourist-y and you have to pay to see absolutely anything (which I understand, it's part of the conservation). On the other hand, I thought it was very interesting…I was the geek girl reading every little paragraph about the town. That day was extra hot, so I went for shorts, a crop top, and gladiator sandals (plus tons of sunscreen for no weird gladiator tan).  Enjoy the pics of the park! XOXO

________

St. Augustine Beach

Saturday, April 11, 2015

This pictures are from our first day in St. Augustine; after 5 hours in the car, we got there tired but we still wanted to walk around. The lady in the hotel lobby recommended us to go to the beach. We were expecting a street with restaurants like South Beach..hence why I was wearing booties! We are very lucky to live in Miami…honestly, Miami's ocean is so gorgeous that we weren't too surprised about the beach there (plus the sand was all shells!). We ate at a restaurant by the sea…delicious! Hope you like the pics! XOXO

___________

The Little Plaid Dress...

Thursday, April 9, 2015

Hi my name is Daniela and I'm a plaid-holic! But honestly…my plaid obsession has reached another level- from shirts, to skirts, dresses, coats…seriously, girl? For the first time wearing it, I went for a "dressier" look since I was going to a Louis Vuitton store presentation for the press. But it can be easily worn with edgier pieces for a grunge look. Today I also went to two other events; a cool "Say Yes to the Dress. Prom Edition" with JCPenney, and to dinner with a Youtube company…busy day but this dress was extremely comfy and it worked from day to night perfectly! Hope you are having a great week! XOXO

______

¡Hola me llamo Daniela…y yo tartán-holica!

REMIX: Floral Shirt

Wednesday, April 8, 2015

See, I wasn't kidding when I said the REMIXES were officially back. This floral shirt has bee in my closet for more than two years. I wore it twice during a trip to Aruba for New Years (2012-2013). Then  it went down a black hole in my klozet and I didn't wear it until last Valentines with an aqua midi (which I love because it is such a romantic look for Vday without being overly pink or red). I really like these shirts because of how versatile they are; but I think people get stuck wearing them just one way (this one is with you Mom!!). Fun prints are easy to wear; you can pair them with neutrals (jeans, white, and black) but you can also play with the colors in the actual print (in this case: the aqua, the pinks, the light oranges, etc). This shirt could also be worn with white pants and a blazer for an office loo or with simple jeans to run errands. I did a small knot to make it more casual for the beach.

WHICH LOOK IS YOUR FAVORITE?

___________

Tuesday, April 7, 2015

Like I shared on the previous post, this Easter weekend we headed to St Augustine. Lately we really want to travel more and get to actually see the world. I feel that we are very lucky because we can work from anywhere (thankfully the blog has become our job and we even believe it will enrich the blog too). We want to start with shorter road trips around Florida, and then we really want to do a coast to coast road trip (especially focusing on smaller towns rather than big cities). So our first destination was the oldest town in the U.S and on our second day we headed to "El castillo de San Marcos" (which looks a lot like Puerto Rico's El Morro..which is one of my favorite places ever!). Here are tons of pics from the fort…hope you like them! XOXO

_______

XOXO

The grid...

Sunday, April 5, 2015

Because of Easter, Gaby had extra days off work…so we headed to St. Augustine on a road trip. This small town is the oldest "city" in the US- founded in 1565! I'll share more pics throughout the week. We got there in the afternoon-after a 5 hour car ride and we headed quickly to the beach. Then we changed for a date-night..hey gotta get that spark going and I love dressing up. You all know by know how much I love classic black and white- but I think the grid print on this skirt makes it fun and modern. I paired it with a long sleeved crop top (but off the shoulders!). I finally added a touch of color with the blue handbag and the red lips. Hope you had an amazing Easter and you got to share this special day with your loved ones. XOXO

________

¡BESOS!

REMIX: Burgundy Sweater…part II

Wednesday, April 1, 2015

YAY I graduated and now I have time to go back to the sections that made Nany's Klozet, Nany's Klozet. The Wednesday Remixes were always my favorite; I love challenging myself to find a 1000 ways to wear the same item. I love how readers have told me I have inspired them to rewear an item. It's all about having fun with clothes at the end!

I've had this sweater since 2012 and I have worn it non-stop…only 7 times on the blog (but hello,  there's only a few bloggers that can say they have posted the same item 7 times…I'm proud of that!). You can see the other four ways by clicking here. All the looks have something in common…printed bottoms! It's the easiest way to bring a basic piece like this one to life! I really like how in this one I wore it with polka dots, plaid, and floral!!
