Spring Time with Stitch Fix

Wednesday, May 1, 2019

Sponsored by Stitch Fix

Fashion was this blog’s first love  and I will always enjoy having fun with my style and different trends.  But I got to be honest, shopping has gotten a bit harder with my little one.

And this is where Stitch Fix comes to the rescue!

Stitch Fix is a personalized styling service where you fill an extensive style profile when signing up; and an expert stylist will hand-select 5 items JUST for you- based on your body type, preferred fit, budget, lifestyle, etc.

When your items arrive; you get to try everything on at the comfort of your house, keep what you love, and send back the rest in a free pre-paid envelope.

There is a $20 fee to have your curated Fix- but it applies towards anything you keep. The best part is that it isn’t a subscription service; you can receive your Fix whenever you want (every month, or if a special vacation is coming up!).

My experience:
A few years ago, I had the amazing opportunity to travel to San Francisco and visit Stitch Fix HQ. The experience was absolutely amazing, seeing how everything works.

Fast forward a few years, and this styling service feels like a lifesaver when I need new pieces to refresh up my wardrobe. I know I know, I’m a fashion blogger and I love shopping for new trends- but just like a Chef goes to other restaurants- it’s nice to not have to worry and trust another expert opinion…and WOW, she nailed my fix.

I received 5 pieces: a Rebecca Minkoff floral dress (the one I’m wearing), these Sam Edelman pink sandals, white shorts, an off-the-shoulder floral top, and a red striped tee. It also came with styling little sheet showing 2 ways to wear each item.  Everything fit just like I like, highlighting what I love! It’s super cool that they have petite, plus size, and maternity sizes in thousands of brands.

I have a feeling I’ll be wearing this dress A LOT. It shows off my curves and it’s such a fun print!

Would you try Stitch Fix?

Baby Shower Errands.... Floral & Denim

Thursday, April 19, 2018

I already told you ALL ABOUT MY BABY shower (Don't forget to check it out HERE). However, like I mentioned, there was a lot planning behind it. At least two trips to the Dollar Tree, two to Target, one to Walmart, Home Depot, the flower shop, etc.

This meant lots of walking, and for a pregnant lady, that means the comfiest shoes possible.  Let's break it down piece by piece!

The dress is from Alice + Olivia; so easy to dress up and to dress down. You cannot go wrong with a denim jacket to dress down a floral dress.  I got it during the store preview in a size bigger so I could wear it while the belly grew. I think I doesn't fit anymore but I can't wait to wear it after baby.

This denim jacket has been with me even before the blog. It used to be a dark denim wash but Gabe helped me bleached it. In my opinion, the lighter was is a bit more timeless! I think it's time for a Remix with it!! There are probably so many looks with it and since 2011. Would you still like to see it?

These white sneakers have been a favorite of mine for almost two years- it might be time to update them but I get attached to anything and everything.

The light pink bag is from Rebecca Minkoff but I designed it. This was one of my OMG-I can't-Believe-It campaigns. I got to design a bag inspired by Miami.  I'm definitely proud of the thing I've got to do.

Hope you liked the look and the pics! This place is in North Biscayne, not sure what street but it should be around 60th.  I've seen it on Instagram and I definitely wanted to shoot there. I'm not going to lie, it did need a lot of photoshoot because it needs to be re-painted! So don't be sad if you arrive there and it doesn't look that amazing, it's all about the angles and a lot of cleaning on an editing app.

ALL EYES ON YOU

Friday, February 23, 2018

I took these photos in January and never published them because I felt there was absolutely nothing special about them. The outfit was just "okay", the shirt was a bit wrinkled, and I could have added a hat or some burgundy lipstick. I could have gone to a cooler place.

I honestly miss the days when the bloggers wore normal clothes,   when it wasn't about who was doing which campaign or who was getting the most likes, when it wasn't about having 100 props and it was  jus aboutt shooting in front on your house with a simple camera, and when it was about shooting about what you actually wore instead of freezing in the snow for a cute shot.

I felt more inspired back them. There is something about today's perfection that doesn't resonate with me.  I look at these girls with their perfect makeup, with the latest trend (that most of the times, it is absolutely ridiculous), with the crazy fabulous trips, and I don't even aspire to be like them.

Maybe  I didn't evolve with the time.
Maybe I'm just being nostalgic of a simpler time.

Maybe I'll just keep being me and someone out there will identify with my imperfection.

VOLCANOES & BAZAARS in Ecuador

Saturday, January 6, 2018

I'm probably confusing you all with this jumping back and forth. But let's clarify it so i's not confusing: these pictures are from October.

As a reminder, I was in Quito for a blogger talk I gave. Then we stayed some extra days exploring different towns. We visited many bazaars that were happening- explored volcanos. SO STUNNING!

Hope you like the pics!

Not So Perfect, So WHAT?

Friday, August 4, 2017

When I started blogging, there was a group of people who called lifestyle bloggers "ego-bloggers" and I absolutely HATED the term.

I didn't, and I still don't, share my outfits to get compliments.

When you go to any blogger's comment section, they are filled with "so pretty" "OMG perfect"and "#goals" - and yes, I'm guilty of leaving these comments too.

But a big part of me is tired of saying "thank you". Because I am not perfect, I'm full of flaws, my life is not goals. So why am I still part of the "superficial ego-blogging" community? Because I want to inspire you to wear that top differently, to not be afraid to try a new trend,  to not be afraid to be YOU.

At the beginning I thought my focus had to be only fashion and opening myself was scary because of the harsh criticism of the internet. But no, I want to encourage fellow bloggers to write more things from the heart, to avoid captions like "today's #ootd"; tell me your story, share your experiences, the good, the bad, the ugly- this is what blogging is about. And as a reader, I want you guys to read, to be more than a "oh-so-pretty" commenter, to share with bloggers your experiences, your thoughts, your critiques. Let's make this a community again!

10 Questions with Voguish Diet

Tuesday, June 20, 2017

For a while, I've been saying I wanted to start shooting with my best blogger friends. I've meet some incredible women in the blogger industry and besides being collages, I've become very close with some of them. I love that we understand each other but at the same time we know that this is not what defines us, that we are more than bloggers.

I'm starting this section with Gaby from Voguish Diet. She is an amazing blogger and Youtube, also from Venezuela (venezuelan power IN THE HOUSE!).  We met a few years ago, when she had long hair with pink tips and I instantly loved her edgy style. I definitely identify with her style and I envy her height and long legs!

So I asked her 10 simple questions so you can get to know her better and follow her if you love her as much as I do!

Let's get started!

WHAT TO WEAR TO DISNEY? -- Mickey Mouse Overload

Friday, May 26, 2017

I shared some of these pics in the previous post with my basic road trip items.

Two years ago we were planning on going to Disney, I don't know what happened but we had to postpone the trip. I got a few Mickey items; some shorts and this tee. I kept in the "klozet" as a reminder we had to go soon.

We finally went and I couldn't wait to wear this top. Honestly, I'm not 100% sure the shorts fit anymore (did someone say diet? yes haha). But again, there's something so magical about Disney that just makes you feel like little girl again, Minnie ears included!

What's a Disney visit without some Mickey Mouse ice-cream? I wanted a pic, it was a complete fail: it melted, I had ice-cream all over me....not cute at all!!

Below you can find all the cute Mickey tees I found on the web!

A little bit Sporty , A little bit pink... #NordyGirl

Monday, March 27, 2017

This  is one of those looks where the accessories are everything...the little details are what make the look!

It is probably one of those combos I go for when I have to get dressed in 5 minutes. Leather shorts and some sort of black top work for any occasion.  This time went for a look that's a little bit sporty...a little bit pink!

I've been eyeing the floral guitar straps for a while, so I finally headed to Nordstrom- one of my favorite stores because I find it all...from the amazing designer bags I invest once in a while to quality accessories at a great price. The strap adds a casual element to any of your bags, it is a great way to update a classic bag without spending a lot of money.

I'm loving the mix of girly elements like the  Rebecca Minkoff Floral Guitar Strap with the  suede baseball cap. I used to have a cool baseball cap a few years ago that a friend borrowed (and well never return). I found this cooler suede version for $20.. score!

During my little accessory shopping spree I also found these aviators. If you have followed me for a while, you know I have a weakness for round sunglasses.  But I'm trying to play with other styles, and these aviators with a pink reflection are absolutely GORGEOUS! Finally, I saw these pom pom earrings from Baublebar and these are perfect for daytime AND nighttime!

Are you loving guitar straps? What's your favorite sunglass style? Are you into pom pom earrings? Let me know in the comments!!

Sneaker Espadrilles with Andre Assous

Tuesday, March 21, 2017

I used to be a high-heels type of girl… I blamed it on my 5’2 frame. Over the years, I’ve learned to LOVE and embrace my petite height …and this self-love opened the shoe world options in so many ways. I became obsessed with sneakers, with flat boots, cool flats, espadrilles, sandals…everything!

This Spring/Summer there are two trends that I know I’m gonna continue to wear: sneakers and espadrilles. Reason why I got little-girl-excited when I saw the Champ Platform Espadrille Sneakers by Andre Assous (a Spanish line that recently launched on Macy’s..keep reading to see how you can win your favorite pair). I think these are the perfect fun mix between cool white sneakers and hand-sewn espadrilles made in Spain.

The comfy pair also goes with everything: cute little rompers, flirty dresses, denim…you  name it, they just scream SUMMER 2017! This time I wore them with a striped romper, a straw hat, and a straw bag. I headed to Miami Beach with my sisters in law for a chill Bachelorette party by the ocean.

Okay, now to the fun part. You can also win a pair of your favorite Andre Assous. How?

The sweepstakes will run through the end of the month and Andre Assous will pick winners on April 1st weekend. GOOD LUCK BABES!

Mucha suerte!!!

The oversized RED moto jacket

Sunday, February 12, 2017

I love all-black outfits..but more than that, I love a bold pop of red- sometimes it is with just a bold lip color but this time I added the coolest red moto jacket from Rebecca Minkoff.

Current Mood: Fearless...with Sephora

Monday, October 17, 2016

Just like fashion, beauty is a way to express how you feel, how you are, and who you want to be. I love how beauty has the power to make your feel confident; triumphant. I love the power of a red lipstick, and the inner confidence the right smoky eye can give.
Personally, I have been feeling fearless- because fear is the only thing between you and your goals. So, today I’m partnering with Sephora Collection  and how the line can empower you to get what you want no matter the occasion.
My go to makeup is a classic cat eye with a red or dark lip (you can see a step by step tutorial I did with Sephora Collection a couple of weeks ago by clicking here).  But today I decided to switch things up a little bit. I did a smokier cat-eye with navy blue and a little bit of bronze.

Let's make blogging FUN again

Friday, October 7, 2016

The other day I was talking with a blogger friend, Remly from The Little Venecia, and she was telling how much she loved my style in 2014...how natural I looked, how the outfits didn't look planned- how it was just me having fun.

The blogger industry keeps growing andhe competition to get that "perfect photo" has gotten crazy...and yes, I blame Instagram for all that. Before Instagram, each blogger had her own style and it really didn't matter what everyone else was doing. Now that we see it when we scroll we compare quality pictures, who has the new it bag, who traveled WHERE, who is working with what brand, etc.

And even though I love traveling and keeping up with trends. I want to go back to that, to have fun with the blog. I want to stop thinking that a look is missing something, or wearing something because it will get more likes on IG. I'm going back to being ME.T his look was not planned at all, I was heading to do some errands and to eat with my mom who was in town. Yes, my hair is longer here because this photo is from a few months back. Why haven't I posted it? Because the sunglasses I designed for Bonlook were not out for sale yet and I really wanted to share them when you could be able to buy and LOVE the sunglasses.

Who's with me? Let's make blogging fun again.

XOXO

¿QuiĂ©n me acompaña?

¡BESOS!
