I can't believe it I only have a couple of weeks left of class; then I'm headed to NYC for an internship...and that's it: GRADUATION! (for the second time around). Before graduating, the university makes us do a portfolio a present it twice- first to a random group of professors at the university and then to companies/open to public. Last week was the faculty review...and this is what I chose to wear: something professional but fun and young. The university has a lot of strict requirements for the dress code: three pieces, nothing too short/sheer/revealing, natural makeup, hair out of face, not a lot of jewelry, etc etc. But the sad part is that we all end up looking like bankers in B&W...so why not do some fun colorblocking with professional pieces? What do you think of my look!? XOXO
___________

The title of this post expresses my exact thoughts on this outfit- professional, but fun. Since you mentioned graduation, let me congratulate you on a job well done. Hope you're able to move on to bigger and better things after reaching this milestone.

Great way to follow the rules and still keep it very you! The softly braided side bun is my favorite part. Adds so much more personality to the face. Oh, and the pants fit so well. That's the key to pulling off a professional look like this: pants that fit, and that accentuate.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you were phenomenal going through all those required hoops before graduation. Congrats on that internship! I'm so excited to see how this big move will be reflected in Nany's Kloset!

First and foremost, congratulations on your achievement, and secondly, your styling looks very suitable, and exciting at the same time, not to bland. Being a lawyer with a zest for fashion, I also "enjoy" the restrictions of having to look like a professional all the time, what a style challenge if you are creative, well done dear!

I am graduating this year and have been in the search for work outfits that aren't black and white! I just recently bought a bunch of bright dresses and is very excited to wear them!
ReplyDeletePlus, you were probably the first one noticed in your presentations and remembered!
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
ReplyDeleteI would like to see more of these :)
I'm still in my second year but I'm starting to feel the need to look more professional, thanks for helping!
I love how you were still able to make a fun outfit under the strict requirements of the university. And I thought my high school dress code was a little ridiculous!
