Yes, when we think of wearing espadrilles, we think of Summer and Spring outfits.  They have this fun and beachy vibe that looks amazing with light summer dresses and denim shorts. However, I personally believe they are a great transitional piece- they give you a little bit more coverage than a regular Summer sandal, making them great for those not-to-hot, not-to-cold days!

Sí, lo sé. Cuando pensamos en alpargatas, pensamos en zapatos de Primavera/Verano. Van perfecto con vestidos veraniegos, shorts de mezclilla, y pantalones de lino. Pero ¿ por qué guardarlos cuando empieza el otoño? Ya que cubren un poco más que una sandalia veraniega regular, son una pieza de transición perfecta para esos días que no hace ni tanto calor ni tanto frío.

I've been a fan of TOUS since I was a little girl and I remember wanting everything with that cute bear. Creo que me enamoré de TOUS muy pequeña, cuando quería todo lo que tuviese esa hermosura de oso. Los últimos 3 años, he tenido el placer de trabajar con esta marca y compartir con ustedes las nuevas colecciones temporada tras temporada. Y me emociona mucho ver como sigue creciendo y evolucionando (¡como todos deberíamos hacer sin importar en que industria estemos!).

Hoy les quiero hablar de 5 tendencias de accesorios para este Otoño/Invierno que voy a estar incorporando en mi "klozet" y que estoy usando en estas fotos.

I hopped on the bandana trend a little later than everyone but I'm so glad I did. It's such a fun statement to add to your wardrobe and it really adds a pop of "something-something".

 I absolutely love how it looks with stripes. As you will see, I've worn it with a striped tee, a striped romper, a striped shirtdress, a striped sweater, etc etc. I also really like how it looks with any type of denim: jeans, skirts,  and overalls.

Also don't be afraid to wear it in your hand, in your head, or different ways around your neck.

Admito que me monté en la tendencia de la bandana un poquito tarde...pero la he disfrutado mucho. Es una pieza que le da ese toque final a cualquier outfit básico.

Me encanta especialmente como se ve con rayas.  Y como podrán verán, la he usado con camisa de rayas, romper de rayas, vestido de rayas, suéter de rayas. También queda perfecto con cualquier pieza de mezclilla: jeans, faldas,  bragas, etc.

Atrévete a usarla de diferentes maneras, en tu cabeza, en tu mano...se ve muy divertida como sea.

3. Perfect Summer Fashion-Wine Pairings

While most of the U.S celebrates the holidays bundled up, we have to adapt some of the winter trends to work for our not-so-cold weather here in Miami.

I’m so excited to partner with Target today to show you two holiday looks that will look festive in our 70-80 degree temperature! I’m a big Target fan…when I go to get cereal, I ALWAYS end up with a piece of apparel, an accessory or some type of home decor… and maybe even a book!

As soon as I saw this dark floral dress, I knew it had to be mine! I feel there is a misconception that florals are only for spring and summer…and I’m all about breaking “the rules!” Make it work for a festive day outfit by wearing it with ankle booties, a hat, and a plum lipstick! Because of the girly bohemian vibe, this dress can also transition from day to night by adding a leather jacket and switching your boots to heels. And when the holiday season is over and you are ready for spring, you can pair it with a denim jacket!

Let’s talk about my night look…great for an evening party this holiday! Velvet always comes back for the holidays; but this year, this romantic and luxurious texture is back stronger than ever. Dare to wear this fabric in a dress (I’m obsessed with this velvet dress) or a blazer like the one I’m wearing. A velvet blazer is also perfect for a holiday work party! However, I went for a flirty metallic dress and over-the-knee boots! Over-the-knee boots are a must have for the colder months, even if you live in not-so-cold weather! They are sexy, fun, they go with everything (jeans, skirts, dresses), and work from day to night. For versatility, look for ones like these since they have a chunkier heel.

If there is one brand I've supported  and worn since the beginning and I'm so proud of its growth, it has to be Danielle Nicole.

She recently collaborated with Disney and her bags are just the cutest. I love this apple one referencing Snow White. You can also get the patches and add them to your favorite jacket, like I did!

I've worn this striped dress (well, used to be a dress, now it's a super short dress I have to wear with shorts underneath...this happens when you let the hubby be in charge of the laundry) a lot. I should do a remix with it...stay tuned!!

Hace poco colaboró con Disney y ha estado haciendo carteras inspiradas en las películas clásicas de Disney. Amo esta manzana y su referencia a la de Blanca Nieves. También tienen sus parches que puedes agregar a tus piezas de mezclilla favorita.

Este vestido de rayas lo he usado tanto (que por cierto se ve extra corto porque se me encogió y ahora lo tengo que usar con shorts debajo...esto pasa cuando dejas al esposo encargado de lavar la ropa!). Pronto comparto un remix! BESOS!

YAY! This officially concludes the Chile trip. Okay, let's talk "months"..we were in Chile in April...yes, April! I waited too long too share, then I wasn't sure if I should.

But now that it's getting chilly and Fall is here...they look appropriate again.

For our last day in Chile we went to one of Neruda's houses called "La Chascona"- which I absolutely loved.  We weren't supposed to take pictures in there but when the guards weren't looking we snapped a couple...hello how can we not share this coolness.

Random Fact: when I was in high school they made us memorize a super long poem...you could choose whichever you wanted. I picked one from Neruda and I started learning so much about him, his poetry, his unique style...the poem is called "Puedo Escribir Los Versos Más Tristes Esta Noche"...I still love that poem.

Out of nowhere, it got super chilly that day...I had to borrowed my mom's scarf (she had many layers...she gets cold easily haha)- and I wore tights for the first time in the trip. We also ate at a Colombian/Chilean restaurant....honestly,not the best, so I won't recommend it (insert the monkey emoji with its hand on its eyes).

¡YAY! Okay finalmente termino con los posts de Chile (al menos de este año porque el año que viene seguro me toca ir a ver a mis sobrinos otra vez). Estas fotos son de abril...no puedo creer que ha pasado tanto tiempo.

 Después de un par de meses no estaba segura si compartirlas...pero ya que por aquí (Hemisferio norte) esta enfriando  con el otoño, me pareció apropiado compartirlas.

En nuestro último día fuimos a una de las casas de Neruda llamada "La Chascona". En teoría no podíamos tomar fotos pero cada vez que el guardia se volteaba, nos veías aprovechando....¡es que todo era super cool!

Un cuento random: cuando estaba en el colegio (creo que el último año de bachillerato) nos hicieron aprendernos un poema largo (probablemente era alguna clase de literatura). Después de revisar muchos pero muchos, encontré este de Neruda llamado ""Puedo Escribir Los Versos Más Tristes Esta Noche"....todavía es de mis favoritos.

De mi look: de la nada hizo un frío increíble ese día que hasta le tuve que quitar la bufanda a mi mamá (ella si que estaba preparada con muchas capas...como siempre por ser tan friolenta). También ese día comimos en un lugar Colombiano/Chileno pero no estaba muy rico así que no se los recomiendo jaja.

Today I have a million things to do. I work better at night...I'm one of those night owls whose mind only works after 10pm. So today's post will be short and sweet but I'm keeping my promise!

This outfit is full of pieces that I've had on repeat. These pieces HAVE to be in your wardrobe no matter your style: white sneakers, a chunky sweater, a leather jacket, a classic handbag that goes with everything, and jeans (these are petite so I feel like I finally got a pair that fits like a cropped pair!). A remix is definitely on the way.

Talking about remixes; I promise that those are coming back soon. I want to share more content...more his and hers, maybe even "get the celebrity look for less". Let me know what you think, what you want to see.

There were a couple of things in my life that I feel they were holding me back...feeling not as inspired as I should have. But here I am and I'm coming for you haha.

Hoy tengo muchas cositas que hacer, pero no quiero dejar de actualizar el blog como les prometí. Soy de esas que trabaja mejor cuando es "a último momento", y de las que la mente le funciona mejor después de las 10pm. Nunca me van a ver trabajando a las 8 am, por gusto.

Este outfit lo he tenido en "repeat" porque esta lleno de piezas básicas...de las que siempre hablo que tienen que tener en su closet...de las que debería hacer un "remix" pronto. 

Hablando del "remix", les prometo que regresamos con eso también. También quiero regresar con más contenido como el de antes-  ya he estado publicando el "his and hers" con Gabo, y estoy pensando la sección del look por menos de las celebridades...¿ustedes que opinan?

Tenía un par de cosas en mi vida que me tenían trancada, que hacía que no me sintiese inspirada...¡pero aquí estoy y vego con todo!

The other day I was talking with a blogger friend, Remly from The Little Venecia, and she was telling how much she loved my style in 2014...how natural I looked, how the outfits didn't look planned- how it was just me having fun.

The blogger industry keeps growing andhe competition to get that "perfect photo" has gotten crazy...and yes, I blame Instagram for all that. Before Instagram, each blogger had her own style and it really didn't matter what everyone else was doing. Now that we see it when we scroll we compare quality pictures, who has the new it bag, who traveled WHERE, who is working with what brand, etc.

And even though I love traveling and keeping up with trends. I want to go back to that, to have fun with the blog. I want to stop thinking that a look is missing something, or wearing something because it will get more likes on IG. I'm going back to being ME.T his look was not planned at all, I was heading to do some errands and to eat with my mom who was in town. Yes, my hair is longer here because this photo is from a few months back. Why haven't I posted it? Because the sunglasses I designed for Bonlook were not out for sale yet and I really wanted to share them when you could be able to buy and LOVE the sunglasses.

El otro día estaba hablando con una querida amiga y bloggers, Remly de The Little Venecia, y ella me estaba contando lo mucho que le gustaba mi blog en el 2014....que todo se veía tan natural y divertido, que nada se veía planeado, que la estaba pasando tan bien.

Y la realidad es que las cosas han cambiado mucho en los últimos años. El mundo blogger ha crecido y la competencia ha crecido aún más. Antes cada cual tenía su estilo y no nos comprábamos. Ahora es inevitable cuando en IG salimos una tras otra. Uno empieza a comparar calidad de fotos, quien tiene la nueva cartera de moda, quien ha viajado más que quien, quien está trabajando con quien, etc

Y aunque por esto no voy a dejar de viajar, ni de jugar con mi estilo; si quiero regresar a eso de divertirme al 100% con el blog. Quiero no pensar en que "al look le falta algo" para que sea un look con muchos likes. Quiero compartir mis looks reales, todas deberíamos dejar de producirnos tanto...no estamos en Fashion Week todo el año.   

Este es de un día muy casual mientras mis papas visitaban en Miami. No lo había publicado porque la colección de Bonlook todavía no había salido y de verdad quería que tuviesen la oportunidad de comprarlos si les gustaban.

October is my favorite month. It's my birthday. It's Halloween..and it just means the Holidays are around the corner and we can start saying "where did they year go?"

Just because it is my favorite month, I challenged myself to blog every single day of the month. I used to blog every day...then, life got in the way, work got in the way. It was more important to send drafts to companies than just share whatever I wanted into the blog. I was so tired that when it came to sitting I write here, words wouldn't appear on the screen.  I've stayed very active on social media but uploading 6 times per month  is not okay.  Social media networks keep popping up...but this is MY platform, my www....and it's important to keep it active (at least it really is for me).

Octubre es mi mes favorito. Este mes cumplo año, este mes es Halloween...y con octubre se puede oficialmente empezar a decir "se acabó el año".

Este mes quise retarme a mi misma y actualizar el blog todos los días del mes. Durante años subía looks todos pero TODOS los días.  Entre más trabajo me empezó a llegar (gracias a Dios) menos me supe organizar y más abandoné esta plataforma...MI plataforma. Estoy en un punto que me agotaba tanto mentalmente que cuando era hora de escribir acá, ya no podía más. He estado muy activa en las redes, pero me puse brava al ver que que estaba publicando 6 veces al mes....eso no esta bien.

I love what I do, and I'm so grateful for every single opportunity I get (work-wise) that it's hard for me to say no. AND I have to learn how to say no.  Because it is okay to say no, it doesn't make us ungrateful- it means that we care about the work we are doing.

I have to understand that I'm not wonder woman I don't have any assistants or interns. My husband, Gabe, takes my photos and edits them...but that's about it, this blog is my baby, my project, my passion- and I love doing everything myself

Y no esta bien porque amo lo hago y me siento tan agradecida de todas y cada las oportunidades que me llegan, creo que por eso es que me cuesta decir que no. Y tengo que aprender a decir que no, todas debemos aprender a decir que no. No significa que no valoras la oportunidad, significa que te importa tanto tu trabajo que le estas dando prioridad a ciertas cosas.

Tengo que entender que no soy la mujer invencible, no tengo asistentes ni pasantes. Gabo es mi única ayuda con las fotos y edición; pero de resto lo hago yo. Este blog es mi bebé, mi proyecto, mi pasión.

 I love planning the outfits, selecting the pictures, answering emails, negotiating contracts, writing my own social captions and blog posts (even though I should have someone proof reading them from time to time)...I appreciate even the annoying things like sending invoices and following up with payments.  I absolutely love interacting with you guys, answering comments on social ( I need to get better at answering HERE, I promise I will try)- and I'm sure some of you have noticed but I go and check out your Instagram accounts too.

I really enjoy every step of the process and I'm very thankful with all of you for all the love and support throughout the years. Love you guys!

Amo planificar los looks, seleccionar las fotos, responder emails, negociar contratos, escribir yo misma todo lo que sale en mis redes y en el blog (aunque de vez en cuando alguien debería corregirme los errores que veo 3 días después). Aprecio hasta las labores tediosas como facturar. Pero sobre todo disfruto intercalando con ustedes en las redes- siempre me meto a responderles y ver sus perfiles. Tengo que mejorar por acá, creo que tengo que hacer que dejar comentarios sea más sencillo....diganme que opinan.

De verdad que disfruto todo el proceso y les agradezco con todo mi corazón tanto cariño que me han dado...desde el 2009! Los quiero mucho.
