Last week I had the fun opportunity to talk to teenagers about fashion with Neutrogena. This initiative kicked-off the #NeutrogenaSelfie campaign and it educated mom and teen attendees on the importance of a daily skin care regimen. I would have loved to hear these tips when I was around 13-14 years old- it's never too early to start taking care of our skin.
First, Hispanic Dermatologist recommended the "Oil-free Acne Wash Grapefruit" line from Neutrogena- which not only includes amazing products for your face but also a body wash to prevent acne on your back and chest. Then, celebrity makeup artist Elizabeth Ulloa taught them how to do a quick makeup that was age appropriate and easy to do. The beauty routine only included a little bit of foundation (with SPF of course) to even out the skin, concealer on acne spots, blush, and a shimmery eyeshadow. She also went one by one telling them what exact shade they were…I wish somebody did that for me at 14 (so many years using the wrong shade!!)
After learning about skincare and makeup, I talked a little bit about fashion and accessories. My main emphasis was about not caring what people think- when I was a teen, I used to care too much about what people thought of me and it shouldn't be that way…we should just be ourselves! Then I talked about body shapes and face shapes. Finally I just shared my favorite online stores and all the girls were so sweet…they made me feel like I was another teen.
And we were ready to start taking selfies... #neutrogenaSelfie!
_______

This is so great Nany! I wish I had this opportunity when I was younger, I was insecure because of acne and just trying to fit in. Now that I'm older, I could care less, but I do see that events like these really uplift our youth and I'm more than positive you left a great impression on those girls :)

Way to go ! The party looks quite happening. The girls seem quite excited for neutrogina. Introducing young people early to good products with such a beautiful party is quite an idea. Good luck for the next one will be waiting for it to happen.
