I have mentioned the importance of taking care of our skin, especially during the summer months.  According to the American Academy of Dermatology, skin cancer is one of the most frequent cancer- especially in young women between the ages of 20 and 29 years. Reason why I want to tell you a little a couple of facts to remind you that there is no excuse to not protect ourselves. #ChooseSkinHelth.

- On the contrary to popular belief, women of color run the same risks to develop skin cancer than fair skin women. Even though 95% of skin cancer cases are in light skin people, women of color are 5 times more likely to die from this condition than Caucasian women.

- Skin cancer is almost 100% preventable when using sunscreen on a daily basis-  make sure it has an SPF of at least 30. Neutrogena has a great variety of broad spectrum products; I specially like the Ultra Sheer line because you can apply it underneath your makeup. I also have good news: for every product bought, Neutrogena will donate one to families in need.

- It is extremely important to protect kids and babies; a sunburn during childhood increases the probability of developing skin cancer later on.

To learn more how to protect our skin,  join me and an amazing group of ladies at a twitter party tomorrow at 7pm EST. Celebrities like Bella Thorne and Julie Bowen, beauty experts, and dermatologist will be part of it... join us by simply using the hashtag #ChooseSkinHealth and RSVP here. See you there!!
