Every time we go to my midwife, he says good-bye by saying something along the lines of "ENJOY, GO OUT, take advantage of every little moment of YOU TWO because everything is going to change once baby is here".
We cannot be any more excited to take baby to all of our little adventures, travel with him, take him everywhere; but of course, after 12 years of being just US (and Chiki), we are taking the doctor's advice and we are just enjoying every moment as much as we can.
I'm already 37 weeks pregnant; this means that no matter where we go, being comfy is a priority. Reason why I was very excited to partner with Zappos & Timberland. This has been one of my favorite collaborations this year, because it was really out of my comfort zone and pushed me to bring to bring you different content. The whole idea with this Instagram campaign with BMW was to show you around Miami and embracing the city I live in.
The adventure started with the M-Track Day; where we got to race many BMW cars. Then BMW South Florida lent me a car for a little over a month drive around. My first stop was Wynwood, since we ended up taking photos I shared it as a blogpost HERE- and then we did a mini road trip to Islamorada, which also had its own blogpost since it was more of a trip (see it HERE).
But the recommendations kept coming on Instagram and I want to share them over here too!

Esta ha sido una de mis colaboraciones favoritas este año porque realmente me sacó de mi zona de comfort y me obligó a mostrarles otro tipo de contenido. La idea de esta campaña de Instagram con BMW era mostrarles diferentes areas de Miami y mostrarles mis sitios favoritos.
La aventura empezó con lo que llaman M-Track Day; donde manejamos diferentes carros de BMW. Después tuve uno de los carros por un poco más de un mes y llevarlo a todos estos sitios que les conté. La primera parada fue Wynwood, y como tomamos muchas fotitos ahí ya les había dejado ese blogpost ACA. Aquí nos fuimos al corazón de Miami: CALLE 8 en Little Havana. En esta zona van a encontrar partidas de dominó, música en vivo (salsa por supuesto 💁🏻), y las mejores coladas!☕️A nosotros nos gusta mucho ir a un sitio de heladitos 🍦 que se llama AZUCAR ( tienen los mejores sabores: dulce de leche, galleta maría, café con leche etc) y atrás también pueden ver "Ball & Chain", genial para ir a bailar 💃🏽 espero que les hayan gustado todas estas recomendaciones por Miami y cuéntenme si quieren más❣️❣️

A true Miamian avoids South Beach; instead we prefer going to Mid Beach or North Miami beach for quieter beach time! 🏖 Last weekend I headed there with a couple of friends, few floaties, and lots of sunscreen! My recommendation is to try to park around 75th and Collins, there is a big parking lot right across the beach and there are gorgeous pastel art deco buildings that really capture the beauty of this city!

Todos los que vivimos Miami le huimos a South Beach (por la cantidad de turistas); preferimos ir a las playas que están un poco más al norte ya que son más tranquilas (¡pero igual de lindas!). Mi recomendación es que se estacionen en la 75 y Collins; hay un estacionamiento justo en frente de la playa y van a ver muchos edificios estilo "Art Deco" muy característicos de la ciudad!
When it's time for some luxury shopping: the Design District is the place to be. Taking advantage of the mid-year designer sales, I did a bit of credit card damage (I got tons of questions, it's the Celine blue bag you have seen around!!). But iIt's not only about the haute design, there are great restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, galleries, and bars in this beautiful area.

Si tienen ganas de hacer compritas (¡de las especiales! ...de esas cuando te quieres dar un gusto después de mucho trabajo!🛍🛍) en Miami, les recomiendo el area del Design District- la architectura es bellísima y van a encontrar las tiendas más lujosas de todo Miami. Pero no es solo para ir de shopping, en esta zona hay muchos restaurants, galerías, bars, y cafés...y lugares para fotitos.
Like I've shared many times, I started in the world of blogging in 2009. I've seen big changes but the biggest one yet was in 2012 when Instagram changed the rules of blogging.
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love that it opened the doors for us bloggers to reach people in a way no other social media network did before. I feel very grateful of my 200,000 followers and I appreciate every follow.
At the same time, it somehow killed blogs. Nowadays, it's very common to hear "I rarely go to blogs anymore" from a user point of view and "why the trouble if nobody reads anymore". Pageviews went significantly down. Out of frustration, some joined the Insta-blogger trend and left their blogs collecting dust. Ohers, like me, stopped updating it daily. At the moment, I'm trying to update it every other day but I want to go back to daily, maybe not daily outfits but daily content.
With all the changes happening in the Instagram platform. Impressions are getting lower, obligating us one way or the other to pay to reach our audience. Shadow-banning is real and some of us are not reaching the amount of people we used to. People are desperate to grow; frequent giveaways, buying likes , using bots, etc.
I want to encourage you to give a little love to your blog. Update your blog frequently, you are already creating amazing content for IG...why not ALSO share it in a platform that is fully yours? A platform that you can control. We don't know what might happen to IG in the future and you cannot let your career to depend on it.
I've always said that your blog shouldn't be the end goal, it's a step into a bigger dream. Treat it as your portfolio, network, grow as a professional, and EVERYTHING is possible🙌🏼💓💓
Como les he contado muchas veces, yo empecé en el mundo de los blogs en el 2009. He visto muchos cambios pero el más grande fue definitivamente el boom del Instagram en el 2012.
IG cambió las reglas del juego en el mundo de los blogs. No me malinterpretes, me siento con esta plataforma porque a mi me abrió muchas puertas y me logró a alcanzar una audiencia con la cual me siento muy agradecida.
Pero al mismo tiempo, "mató" a los blogs como tal. Casi inmediatamente después del gran boom, las vistas de los blogs bajaron sustancialmente. Empezó a ser muy común oir frases como "ya no vale la pena actualizar el blog, nadie está leyendo"desde el lado de los bloggers y "ya nunca me meto a leer blogs" de parte de los usuario. Por esta razón, muchas se enfocaron en IG y dejaron el blog agarrando polvo...yo como muchas, dejé de actualizarlo a diario. En estos momentos estoy intentando subir un post cada dos d días y regresaré al diario (no outfits diarios pero si contenido que les pueda interesar).
Me imagino que se han podido dar cuenta, IG sigue cambiado y cambiando- las impresiones cada vez son mas bajas para obligarnos a pagar para llegar a todos nuestros seguidores. Hay algo llamado "shadow-ban" que nos limita el alcance. Todo el mundo esta buscando estrategías para seguir creciendo, pero ¿por qué estamos dependiendo tanto en una plataforma que no es nuestra?
Por esto quiero motivarlos a regresar a los blogs, a tener tu propia plataforma, a contar sus historias más alla de una foto bonita. Si ya estás creando contenido increíble para IG, ¿por qué no compartirlo TAMBIEN en una plataforma donde tienes todo el control? Siempre he dicho que ser blogger no es la meta, es el camino para llegar a una meta más grande . 🙌🏼🙌🏼💓💓

When people tell “OMG you live in Miami, you must go to the beach ALL the time”, I get embarrassed to say I don’t go as often as I should.
I live in an amazing city - a city visited by dozens of millions because of its gorgeous beaches, culture, food, weather, etc. Reason why my husband and I, from time to time, like to book a room in Miami Beach and just enjoy what the city has to offer from a “tourist view”.

This time, we were invited by the Nautilus hotel in South Beach to stay there the weekend...and it was so much fun. The hotel gladly accommodated Chiki, which is always a plus. We spent some time by the pool and the ocean, we had one of the best meals and cocktail I've ever had at Driftwood Room. I really recommend the ginger cocktail and the tuna tartare.
For my looks, it's so hot in Miami that I just went with easy going flowy dresses. I'm obsessed with the denim dress with patches. Mine is from Shoppiin, but you can also get a regular denim dress and put as many patches as you want (Express has many cute ones that are easy to add)..

Adoro vivir en Miami....y es que de verdad es una ciudad hermosa. Uno como local olvida lo lindo que es. Por eso me encanta la idea de los "Staycation"- que es básicamente pasar una mini vacación en la ciudad donde vives (o hasta en tu propia casa si quieres desconectarte del mundo).
En esta ocasión el hotel Nautilus en Miami Beach nos invitó a pasar el fin de semana allá y disfrutar de las areas. Estabamos super contentos que nos dejaron llevar a Chiki sin problema alguno, lo cual es perfecto, especialmente si es una mini vacación. Pasamos tiempo en la piscina y en la playa...y no tiene idea lo rico que comimos en Driftwood Room. Les recomiendo el tuna tartare y el cóctel que tiene jengibre.

Let me introduce you to my current wardrobe obsession: this awesome suede jacket I got via Stitch Fix.
I've been wearing it non-stop since I got it...with this white romper, a plaid dress, jeans, etc. It's such a cool & versatile piece.
Stitch Fix is an online shopping service where a personal stylists gives you options based on your style, body type, needs, etc. You tell them everything..and they do the shopping for you. I loved all the pieces I got but this one was definitely my favorite.
I wore this to a panel during Hispanicize 16'- a hispanic conference that also had an influencer summit called Dime and I spoke on an IG panel...it was definitely fun!

Esta chaqueta la he estado usando sin parar...con este romper blanco, vestido de rayas, vestido de cuadros...y más. Es una pieza extremadamente versátil!
Stitch Fix es un servicio de compras por internet donde una estilista te da opciones dependiendo de tu estilo, tipo de cuerpo, necesidades, etc. Tu les cuentas de tu estilo de vida, tus estampados favortios etc, y ellos escogen piezas para ti. Yo quede encantada con todas las piezas...pero esta fue mi favorita.
Esto lo utilicé en el panel donde hable durante la conferencia HIspanicize...super divertido!

“I live where you vacation”…
I heard that phrase for the first time as soon as I moved to Miami…and it made me appreciate more the beautiful city I live in. People all over the world visit Miami for their gorgeous beautiful beaches, white sand, and friendly people….and to do that, I just have to put my favorite bathing suit and cross the bridge that takes me from Downtown to Miami Beach.
Talking about bathing suits, I have a weakness for reversible and versatile bikinis- like this one I’m wearing from LOFT. I love how I can wear it with the stripes print or with the paisley one. To make it even better, you can fold the high waisted bottom- which gives you a touch of the second print and it’s perfect for tanning. I was so inspired by the pretty prints from LOFT that why not mix them up? The Paisley Tasseled Sarong works also to lay down on the sand…but I absolutely love how it looks in a turban. Last touch? Round sunglasses (which have become my favorite sunglasses style), a striped beach bag, and tasseled caftan for another pretty print.
Who is ready for summer?!! I know I am.

Esta es una frase que escuché por primera vez apenas me mudé a Miami... y me hizo apreciar aún más la hermosa ciudad donde tengo la suerte de vivir en. Gente de todo el mundo visita Miami por sus hermosas playas, con un mar hermoso y arena blanca. Y yo para hacer eso solo tengo que ponerme mi traje de baño y cruzar el puente que lleva de Downtown a Miami Beach.
Hablando de trajes de baño...mis favoritos son aquellos que son reversibles por su versatilidad (es como tener 4 en uno). Este que tengo de LOFT tiene dos estampados- el que ven en las fotos y por dentro es de rayitas. Y como si fuese poco, puedes doblar la parte de abajo de este traje de baño para que te quede a la cadera en vez de a la cintura (y así no te preocupas cuando sea hora de broncearte). Los estampados de la colección de LOFT me inspiraron a jugar con ellos y mezclarlos. Por eso agregué un kimono... y me atrevía usar un sarong de estampado cachemir como turbante (pero luego me lo quite y lo usé en la arena, y como pareo más tarde). ¿último toque? Lentes de sol redondos (que se han convertido en mis favoritos) y una cartera de playa de rayas.

En este momento hay más de 50 millones de niñas en el mundo (entre las edades de 12 y 18 años) que no tienen el derecho a la educación- puede ser porque donde viven es un tabú, o porque simplemente no pueden pagarla.

the beach, exercising…or all of the above!
This Summer, Escape with

and last week I stopped by their event at the Loews Hotel in Miami! I needed a
day to feel carefree and beautiful in the sun, especially after 4 flights in 6
days,.
I started my day with a fun,
pink manicure and a massage. Then I headed to the beach with a green juice by
Juice Press, my Hawaiian Tropic sunscreen, and an Elle Magazine; the day was
absolutely gorgeous! Hawaiian Tropic also offered complimentary fitness classes
by Exhale Spa; I did a barre/cardio fusion class that was AMAZING. I felt like I
exercised muscles I didn’t know I had.
Even though I love the sun, I also understand
the importance of sun care to keep my skin looking and feeling healthy. I’ve
always shared on the blog how I don’t go outside without applying sunscreen,
but it is even more important to apply and REAPPLY frequently when you are out
and about enjoying the sun and sand. The new Hawaiian Tropic Island Sport

Este verano, Hawaiian Tropic está haciendo una actividad llamada Escape donde van a diferentes ciudades y realizan manicuras, masajes, dan clases de Yoga, etc. La semana pasada pasé por su evento en el hotel Loews en Miami. Siento que lo necesitaba…especialmente de una semana donde agarré 4 vuelos en 6 días.
Empecé mi día con un cambio de pintura de uñas rosada. Luego estuve un rato en la playa con un juguito verde, mi protector solar de Hawaiian tropic (por supuesto), y una revista Elle….aparte el día estaba espectacular. Luego hice una clase que se llama barre/cardio; que es INCREIBLE…mezcla de todo un poco y les juro que ejercitas músculos que ni sabes que tenías.
Aunque me encanta el sol, también entiendo la importancia de cuidarnos y protegernos la piel. Les he comentado muchísimas veces en el blog que no salgo sin aplicarme un poco de protector solar; pero recuerden que es importantísimo reaplicarlo frecuentemente (los expertos dicen que cada dos horas es lo recomendable).
La nueva línea de #HawaiianTropic llamada Island Sport es perfecta para esos días donde vas a estar mucho tiempo en el sol. Es ligera, absorbe rápido…y también resiste el agua y el sudor.

means BEACH TIME! It’s great when you can find a

size. You can easily wear this look to eat by the sea and then take your shorts
off to walk around the beach with just the kimono.
This BCBGeneration kimono has a cool distressed mosaic print so you could even dress it up with a cute white dress
and heels. Lately, I’ve been wearing white denim shorts even more often than
the regular blue jeans…they go with everything and they scream, “I’M READY FOR SUMMER”!.

Este fin de semana, los días en Miami estuvieron espectaculares… ¿saben lo que eso significa? PLAYITA!! Y mejor cuando tenía un look veraniego completo (de pies a cabeza) de Lord & Taylor por estrenar.
Cuando voy a la playa, yo siempre opto por esta combinación porque me parece muy cómoda: shorts + kimono + bikini. Mi traje de baño es de Marc by Marc Jacobs. me encantó el color y el estilo bandeau es muy favorecedor para chicas con un busto como el mio.Este look lo puedes utilizar para ir a comer cerca de la playa; y luego te puedes quitar los shorts para caminar en la playa. Este kimono de BCBGeneration es una belleza, me encantó el estampado…aparte lo puedes usar con un vestidito blanco y tacones para una noche romántica (me imagino una cena con el atardecer de fondo de vacaciones). Ultimamente he estado utilizando denim shorts blancos (en vez de los clásicos azules) porque van con todo y son más veraniegos.
Si estas pensando invertir en un par de sandalias para este verano; busca unas que tengan la suela blanca (están muy de moda!). Yo encontré este par de Vince Camuto pair en Lord & Taylor pero me gustó como tienen una tirita metálica. Finalmente, un look de verano no está completo sin un sombrero…bueno yo y mis sombreros. Este de Kate Spade se va a convertir en mi favorito; tiene mariquitas rojas…díganme si no se ven tiernísimas.
