It's not secret that I love NYC. The last time I visited the city was in November 2016 (so two years ago!) and I couldn't wait to be back! I have so many photos, moments, and tips to share about this trip! So I'm going to start with "where to stay"
We were supposed to go last year for New York Fashion Week, and then Hurricane Irma happened. Many of you remembered I was running around Florida with Gabe, Gaby, and Alex. We ended up in Miramar Beach and then New Orleans.
That day the airport looked out of an apocalyptic movie, and I was freaking out when our flight was cancelled. Not only because that meant we were stuck in Miami with a Hurricane Category 5 coming our way, I was also missing my favorite city. Many friends in the same situation started texting me that they couldn't cancel their hotels (hence lost the money). Thankfully, had booked my hotel via Hotel Tonight a we got reimbursed in credits.
Later on I found out I was pregnant ( I was already pregnant running away from the Hurricane and I just didn't know it yet🤣). Obviously I didn't travel for a while and now that we are so excited to explore the world with Nico, I said "let's just go to NY before it gets too cold and use the credits we have".

Creo que no es ningún secreto que AMO Nueva York. La última vez que visité la Gran Manzana fue a finales de Noviembre del 2016 por nuestro aniversario #2. Así que tenía casi dos años sin ir, y estaba loca por volver. Tengo muchísimas fotos, momentos, y recomendaciones que darles. Así que voy a empezar con "¿dónde quedarse?"
Empecemos con un cuento muy random. El año pasado se supone que iba la Semana de la Moda; pero por el huracán Irma, cancelaron nuestro vuelo (¡¡tal vez se acuerdan como estuvimos corriendo huyéndole al peligro!!)
Para ese viaje, había hecho mi reservación con Hotel Tonight- y aunque muchas amigas en la misma situación perdieron su dinero, me lo devolvieron en crédito para usar a futuro. Luego me entero que estoy embarazada (digo me entero porque ya para el corre corre del huracán estaba embarazada y no lo sabía🤣) y obviamente no viajamos por un buen tiempo.
Pero ahora que queremos explorar el mundo con nuestro pequeñín, dije "Vamos YA a Nueva York antes de que se ponga muy frío, y usamos el crédito que tenemos para el hotel". Where to stay in NYC can be a super duper personal choice. All areas have their appeal. I regularly like to stay close to Central Park because I'm absolutely in love with that HUGE park.
However, this time my friends and I decided to stay at the recently opened Freehand Hotel in the Flatiron neighborhood. I didn't doubt it for a second because I love the Miami location- and let me tell you, it didn't disappoint us AT ALL.
The hotel has a boho vibe very typical of the Freehand Hotels- every corner was picture worthy. The rooms were comfortable (even with a baby stroller and all the things that come with a baby! Don't worry that article where I answer all your questions about traveling with a baby is coming soon). We also loved the rooftop at the Broken Shaker, the views were breathtaking!

Decidir donde quedarte en NYC es una opción muy personal porque cada area tiene su encanto. A mi generalmente me gusta quedarme cerca de Central Park porque AMO ese parque con todo mi corazón.
Esta vez fue una decisión en grupo, nos quedamos en el Freehand. Teníamos como referencia el de Miami y realmente sobrepasó nuestras expectativas. Tiene esa onda bohemia muy típica de la cadena de hoteles Freehand y cada esquina es perfecta para una foto. Las habitaciones me parecieron muy cómodas (para ser Nueva York , que todo es extra pequeño). Nos quedamos en una habitación King y fue la decisión perfecta porque entre tanto coche y cosas de bebé, necesitábamos un poquito más de espacio. No se preocupen, pronto les cuento más sobre viajar co un bebé (que me han preguntado muchísimo).
El Freehand NYC también tiene una terraza espectacular con un bar que tienen que visitar así se queden en otro hotel.

This Miami Winter was extremely short but sweet. I've probably said it a million times but living in such a hot/humid city makes you appreciate the chilly days so much more.
The few days we got a little bit of a cold-front , I was wearing oversized sweaters with over the knee boots! This is actually a men’s sweater from Forever21, I got it last Fall. I wore it with sneakers for a longgg Ikea trip (which was a total fail, we didn’t find anything we were looking for). We were starting to look at cribs and changing tables but they were HUGE and we have limited space
Then I swapped the sneakers for these AWESOME booties; and we headed to dinner with friends
Btw it’s not about “hiding the bump” , I just feel way way WAY more comfortable in looser silhouettes. Either way, at the pace this bump is growing...it will show in a LOSE dress.

Finally got to visit the Museum of Ice Cream in Miami ...and it was so much fun, so get ready for a lot of photos because every corner is a photo opportunity. I wanted to go a few months ago but it sold out so quickly. Thankfully they extended their stay and I got to check it out. Many people say it's a bit pricey for what it is, but I had an absolute blast.
Por despistada no pude comprar entradas para el Museo del Helado en Miami...pero extendieron sus fechas hasta finales de febrero prepárense para mucho fotos en este post porque cada esquina es para tomarse fotos. Mucha gente dice que es un poco costoso para lo que es, pero a mi me pareció una experiencia muy única y la disfruté mucho.

Gabe got this shirt a while ago, and I'll admit it: every time he wanted to wear it I was like "seriously? NOT NOW". In my defense, not because it isn't awesome, but because it was always for non appropriate occasions (for example, he wanted to wear it to Santa's Enchanted Forest- a freaking Christmas themed park and flamingos, nope haha🤣🤣) So yes, I finally "let him wear it" and he ended up being for sure the coolest dude at the museum!

Gabe se compró esta camisa hace un tiempito... y admito que cada vez que se la quería poner, "yo no lo dejaba". Y no porque no fuese la camisa más mayamera de la existencia si no que siempre se la quería poner en ocasiones CERO apropiadas (por ejemplo casi se la pone para el parque tématico navideño- ¡se podrán imaginar que nada que ver!). Así que si, soné como la esposa bruja que no lo dejaba poner su camisa de flamencos jajaja pero esta ocasión fue perfecta y 100% era el más cool en el museo.
When I wash my hair, I have to mentally prepare to DRY it and STYLE it (just because it takes me so long!). When I was a kid and a teen, I would wash it every single day. I was the kid who arrived every morning with wet hair to class.
As an adult, I realized that 1. that's not healthy for my hair 2. I cannot show up with wet hair and 3. Who has time to style their hair every day!?
My secret weapon is DRY SHAMPOO: my favorite is Dove Dry Shampoo Volume + Fullness because besides absorbing oil it transforms my hair from lifeless to bouncy. Dry shampoo is amazing to revive and refresh my hair on those days I don't have the time for a full blow-out- or if I'm feeling extra lazy (raise your hands ladies, I know I'm not alone !).

Also, I totally stole this hoodie from Mr. Gabe. He rocks as a shirt, the fit for me is more like a hoodie dress- which I LOVED, especially when paired with these over-the-knee boots.

Dándome de la mas cool en una de las calles de piedritas más antigua de Boston llamada Acorn Street (la cual también, según Wiki, es una de las calles más fotografiadas de Estados Unidos) - pero si les soy sincera, fue una mala idea andar caminando por ahí con estas botas.
El hoodie/suéter es de Mr. Gabe. Obviamente a el le queda genial como camisa- a mi me quedaba larga como un vestidito (cosa que me encantó). Me parece que este estilo de suéter ancho se ve genial con botas a la rodilla para esos días de otoño que están a la vuelta de la esquina.

🖤One of my favorite places in Miami is definitely Wynwood. Formerly an industrial hub, Wynwood is now home to the coolest murals, restaurants, coffee shops...and best photo opps!
I love starting the day with a quick drive in my BMW, grabbing iced coffee (either at Panther Coffee or at Mister Block Coffee), and taking advantage of all the cool graffiti walls for blog pictures📸The Striped Wynwood Building is definitely a staple of the area!
But let me tell you about my outfit!!

Wynwood es de mi areas favoritas. Pocas saben pero esta zona solía ser un area industrial pero ahora se pueden encontrar los cafés, galerías, restaurantes y bares mas cool de todo Miami.
Una de mis maneras favoritas de empezar el día es manejando a Wynwood, agarrando un café frío (porque con tanto calor en esta ciudad!). Les recomiendo pasar por panther Coffee o el Mister Block Coffee. Ambos excelentes.
También es mi zona favorita para tomar fotos para el blog por todos los murales de artistas muy reconocida .¡Este edificio de rayas es uno de los más icónicos de la ciudad!

When I started blogging, I wouldn't wear jeans at all. Maybe you guys even remember me saying that it was like a challenge.
Looking back, I know what it was. Jeans are a comfort zone. It's very easy to wear a jeans and a tee and get out the door. I'm glad I stopped wearing them for a few years because it made me think outside the box and play with different trends and styles.
However, jeans nowadays are nothing but fun. Come on, look at these lace-up! I got them at Forever 21 for $34.90, they also have a legging version for $20. I personally just feel a lot more comfortable in jeans (I still say it out loud people, LEGGINGS ARE NOT PANTS). I'm going to link more options below, the side lace-up is GORGEOUS too.
I have a few outfit ideas on how to wear these jeans but I was heading to a blogger- where Gabe was talking about photography. So I felt like just doing a simple white tee and sneakers (I later up changed to these amazing boots)
Final trendy touch? Clear aviators!! Love them! I got them in clear and yellow since the price was so great!

Cuando empecé a blogger, creo que NUNCA me vieron con jeans. Estaba hasta en mi preguntas frecuentes, ¿por qué no usas jeans?
Las cosas han cambiado, pero en ese momento quería salir de mi zona de confort y no me arrepiento porque eso me obligó a utilizar diferentes tendencias y jugar con distintos estilos.
Aparte, los jeans de hoy en dá están más divertidos que nunca. ¡¡Y estos jeans trenzados son la prueba!! Los conseguí en Forever 21 por $35, también tienen una versión en leggings for $20. A mi personalmente me gustan más los jeans, me siento más cómoda y son más versátiles. Repitan conmigo "Los leggings no son pantalones!". Abajo les voy a dejar varias opciones, hay unos con la parte trenzada de lado que son hermosos también.
Tengo varias ideas en mente pero ese día quise usarlo de la manera más básica: con una camiseta blanca. Ibamos a un panel donde Gabo iba a hablar de fotografía. Originalmente tenía unos sneakers (ya que el panel era por el día) pero luego me cambié a estos tacones.
¿Toque trendy final? Estos aviadores transparentes. No me resistí y ya que estaban a buen precio, compré los amarillos también.

Oh my! These pictures are from a while back, from our first trip to Ecuador (photos of the second trip are coming soon!). I saved them because a friend was trying to publish them into a local magazine...but not sure what happened with that.
So here they are :)
I'm Venezuelan but my dad and brother work in Ecuador so it's easier to meet there. This trip was my first time visiting this lovely country- all of these photos are from Guayaquil, which is a very hot and humid city (I feel it's even more hot and humid than Miami, and that's A LOT).
Ay Dios...estas fotos tienen ya un tiempito- pero no podía dejar de compartirlas. Son de nuestro primer viaje a Ecuador- en Navidad hicimos el segundo. Las tenía guardadas porque había una publicación de allá interesada en publicarlas pero eso no terminó sucediendo.
Así que finalmente las comporto con ustedes!
Como saben ( y para que no haya confusiones), soy venezolana pero tengo familia en Ecuador y últimamente es más fácil encontrarnos ahí. Guayaquil es una ciudad encantadora pero extremadamente caliente y húmeda, en eso se parece mucho a Miami.

When traveling, it's great to stay within theme so you can mix and match everything to double up your little bag wardrobe.
Considero que al viajar, en vez de planear cada outfit, busca un tema y que todas las piezas vayan con ese tema y colores para que le puedas sacar todo el provecho posible.
