When I started blogging, there was a group of people who called lifestyle bloggers "ego-bloggers" and I absolutely HATED the term.

I didn't, and I still don't, share my outfits to get compliments. 

When you go to any blogger's comment section, they are filled with "so pretty" "OMG perfect"and "#goals" - and yes, I'm guilty of leaving these comments too.

But a big part of me is tired of saying "thank you". Because I am not perfect, I'm full of flaws, my life is not goals. So why am I still part of the "superficial ego-blogging" community? Because I want to inspire you to wear that top differently, to not be afraid to try a new trend,  to not be afraid to be YOU.

At the beginning I thought my focus had to be only fashion and opening myself was scary because of the harsh criticism of the internet. But no, I want to encourage fellow bloggers to write more things from the heart, to avoid captions like "today's #ootd"; tell me your story, share your experiences, the good, the bad, the ugly- this is what blogging is about. And as a reader, I want you guys to read, to be more than a "oh-so-pretty" commenter, to share with bloggers your experiences, your thoughts, your critiques. Let's make this a community again!

Cuando empecé a bloggear, se escuchaba mucho el término EGO BLOGGER (que honestamente casi no escucho- ahora es todo "influencer", pero de eso hablamos después).

No me gustaba ese término, porque definitivamente insinuaba que lo que hacemos era para inflarnos el ego.  

Y si vas a la parte de comentarios de cualquier blogger, esta lleno de "¡que bella!" "¡que perfecta"! - hasta yo misma soy culpable de dejar estos comentarios.  Pero gran parte de mi esta cansada de decir "gracias", porque lo que realmente quiero hacer es inspirarlas a jugar con sus klozets, a sacarle provecho a esa camisa que casi no usan, o a intentar una tendencia que te convence.

Pero al mismo tiempo quiero escribir cosas desde el corazón, quiero compartir experiencias, y aprendizajes (lo bueno, lo malo, lo feo...porque así es la vida), quiero ver a otras blogger abriendo sus corazones y hablando más que del outfit bonito que usa, quiero que mis seguidores  me lean, que me critiquen si no están de acuerdo (educadamente), que compartan conmigo sus experiencias. Hagamos de este mundo una comunidad otra vez..

Unconsciously (or sometimes consciously), we are always rating and comparing each other in “numbers”. I’ve been treated differently for having 200k followers and I’ve been treated differently for JUST having 200k followers. That number doesn’t instantly tell me someone's journey, it doesn’t tell me their hard work, how humble they are, or even their talent.  I’m extremely thankful for every person that follows me, but the goal should never be the FAME! You are more than a number! 🖤🖤

This  is one of those looks where the accessories are everything...the little details are what make the look!

It is probably one of those combos I go for when I have to get dressed in 5 minutes. Leather shorts and some sort of black top work for any occasion.  This time went for a look that's a little bit sporty...a little bit pink! 

I've been eyeing the floral guitar straps for a while, so I finally headed to Nordstrom- one of my favorite stores because I find it all...from the amazing designer bags I invest once in a while to quality accessories at a great price. The strap adds a casual element to any of your bags, it is a great way to update a classic bag without spending a lot of money.

 I'm loving the mix of girly elements like the  Rebecca Minkoff Floral Guitar Strap with the  suede baseball cap. I used to have a cool baseball cap a few years ago that a friend borrowed (and well never return). I found this cooler suede version for $20.. score!

During my little accessory shopping spree I also found these aviators. If you have followed me for a while, you know I have a weakness for round sunglasses.  But I'm trying to play with other styles, and these aviators with a pink reflection are absolutely GORGEOUS! Finally, I saw these pom pom earrings from Baublebar and these are perfect for daytime AND nighttime!

Este es uno de esos looks donde los accesorios lo son TODO... ya que transforman un look básico en uno trendy y divertido.

Como les digo, este es un look básico para cuando me tengo que vestir en minutos. Unos shorts de cuero y un top negro (en este caso , suéter) te salvan en cualquier apuro. Este me encantó porque es un poquito deportivo, pero también femenino.

Llevaba tiempo viendo las cadenas de carteras estilo de guitarra, son perfectas para darle un toque distinto a una cartera clásica (y sin gastar mucho dinero). Así que me fui a Nordstrom, de mis tiendas favoritas porque lo encuentras todo- desde las carteras más bellas de diseñador hasta los accesorios para el día a día a buen precio. 

Me enamoré de esta de Rebecca Minkoff  que va perfecta con mi carterita de la misma marca. También vi esta gorra de gamuza por $20 y no me pude resistir (porque tuve una similar hace mucho y la presté...de esas prestadas que nunca regresan)... y esta versión es hasta más cool que la que tenía.

También fui con la misión de encontrar unos lentes que no fuesen redondos (tengo que darle un descanso a ese estilo).  Y estos aviadores rosados son perfectos. Y bueno, vi estos aretes de pompones que me fascinaron ya que puedes usarlos de día o de noche!

This month has not been easy. My husband Gabe broke his leg, and I've had some personal issues that I'll probably share eventually as part of my healing.

But I want to get back on track, and take all of this as inspiration to better myself...I know it won't be easy and that I will have better days than others but I absolutely enjoy sharing little snippets of my life. I love inspiring you somehow...so today I want to take a moment to remind you to always keep going- that yes, we might hide behind pretty pictures but we all go through a lot of crap...and we have to keep going.

Este mes no ha sido el más fácil...mejor dicho ha sido de los más difíciles. Mi esposo se rompió la pierna y yo estoy pasando por algo que eventualmente espero compartir con ustedes.

Pero quiero regresar a la rutina, y tomarme todo esto que ha pasado como una manera de inspirarme a mi misma a seguir adelante y siempre ver como seguir mejorando y evolucionando. Se que tendré días mejores que otros pero mi blog..mi blog es mi bebé y es de lo que más disfruto. Me encanta inspirarlas (así sea como usar una pieza o inspirarlas a seguir su sueños); hoy espero inspirarlas recordándoles que todos pasamos por momentos difíciles y aunque nos escondamos detrás de fotos hermosas en las redes, no hay vida perfecta...y hay que seguir adelante.

To go to Cuenca we drove up from Guayaquil, it was a 5 hour trip (approximately). We stopped several times since we were a big group and someone was always hungry or wanted to go to do bathroom...or to take a pic (that was Gabe all the time).

The road was a little foggy but when it showed us the view...it was absolutely beautiful!.

Para ir a Cuenca manejamos desde Guayaquil. Son alrededor de 4-5 horas...o bueno eso fue lo que nos tardamos nosotros porque, al ser un grupo grande, siempre había alguien que tenía hambre, ganas de ir al baño, o de tomar fotos (ese último era Gabo todo el tiempo).

Había muchísima neblina, pero cuando despejaba, era realmente hermoso.

Espero que les hayan gustado estos 3 posts de Cuenca...cuéntenme si alguna vez han visitado este hermoso lugar. ¡BESOS!

I was amazed by the architecture, the people, the culture...breathtaking!! My husband, Gabriel (@Gabe_Media) did an amazing job capturing the beauty of this place.

Este no es necesariamente mi look más "fashion" ni trendy. Honestamente estabamos yendo a la ciudad para ir a buscar a mi hermano en la estación de autobuses  cuando decidimos quedarnos y pasear un poco.

Quedé impresionada con la belleza de la ciudad: la architectura, la gente, la cultura en cada esquina, la comida...hermoso! Creo que Gabo hizo un trabajo increíble capturando la belleza de esta ciudad. Espero que les gusten las fotos!

Things don't go as planned. We had everything ready...we were going on our honeymoon after 2 years (and to celebrate our second anniversary)...and something happened: I guess it was my mistake.

As a venezuelan passport holder, I couldn't get on the plane to the UK. There's a new law that requires venezuelans to get a visa. When I lived in Venezuela, I remember we could go to any European country without any problems- that's why I didn't even double check (again, my mistake). The airline never required it when I input my passport months ago (but again, we shouldn't rely on machines).

I took it very calmly, I'm the type of person that takes things very chill, especially when you cannot do anything about it. Even though we did, we tried changing our trip but it was twice as expensive. We decided to stay in New York and enjoy every second of it- because well, WE ABSOLUTELY love New York. We stayed there an extra 5 days and we tried to do/visit things we had not done before.

It was one of those moments where you realize that it is your choice , you decide whether something can F*ck it all up or you can just look at the bright side...and my bright side was simply being with him in one of the best cities of the world.

Definitivamente hay cosas que no salen como lo planeabas. Ya teníamos todo listo, íbamos a pasar una semana en Londres y en Paris por nuestro segundo aniversario (y Luna de Miel porque nunca nos fuimos oficialmente de viaje de Luna de miel). Pero algo paso, y fue mi culpa.

Al tener pasaporte venezolano (aunque tenga mi residencia Americana), no me dejaron montarme en el avión a Londres. Desde hace un par de años (y por la situación de Venezuela) piden una visa. Recuerdo toda la vida pensar que podíamos entrar a cualquier país europeo sin ningún problema- por eso no me metí a revisar (mi error, una vez más). La aerolínea tampoco nos dijo nada, ni la agencia cuando mandamos la información de mi pasaporte con meses de anticipación (por supongo que es un recordatorio que no podemos confiar en los sistemas automáticos).

Les admito que estaba muy tranquila, no me molesté en ningún momento, analizamos todas las opciones y no se podía hacer nada al respecto. Intentamos llegar primero a Paris pero nos salía el doble de lo que ya habíamos pagado. Decidimos quedarnos 5 días extra en Nueva York y disfrutar cada segundo al máximo. 

Fue de esos momentos donde pude haberme amargado y regresado a Miami molesta, pero quisimos verlo desde el lado positivo...y estar con el era más que suficiente <3
