TRESthrowback: 1980s modern curls with TRESemmé

Hey everyone! Like I mentioned before, I’m in Venezuela with my family for the holidays. The other day, my mom and I were looking at old family albums. My mom originally had straight hair so she used to do crazy perms during the 80s and early 90s. As part of my “Throwback Thursday” series with TRESemmé, I decided to give the hairstyle a try and create a modern version of the 1980s curl look. 

This hairstyle is all about volume and texture; and it’s extremely easy to recreate… plus it’s great to change it up for the holiday season!

 WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- A curling iron or wand (avoid wide wands; you want to create tight curls)
- A hairbrush
-TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Heat Protection Shine Spray 
-TRESemmé Flawless Curls Locking Styling Spray 
- TRESemmé Smooth and Silky Anti-Frizz Secret Creme 



 TUTORIAL: 
1. Wash your hair the night before and let it dry naturally. Don’t straighten it, we want the curl to hold as much as possible. If you have to wash it that day, use a blow drier just to but don't straighten it.

 2. Apply the TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Heat Protection Shine Spray. I always mention the importance of heat protection but a lot of people still forget this important step. Using a heat protectant creates a shield to protect hair from the damaging effects of heat. Spread the product evenly throughout your hair.

3. Divide your hair through the middle or to the side; a deep side gives it more of a ‘80s vibe.

 4. Start curling from the bottom part of your hair first. Use small sections of hair to give it a dramatic look. Alternate the direction of the curls; some should be curled inward and others away from your face. Hold the curling iron for approximately 10 seconds. Let them fall and don’t break them.


 5. Apply your favorite hairspray after you are finished (Recommendation: use TRESemmé Flawless Curls Locking Styling Spray. It will help hold the curl while still looking soft and natural)

 6. After spritzing on hairspray, wait around 15 minutes before breaking the curls with your fingers. Since they were all curled in different directions, the curls should look very natural.

 7. Finally, apply the “TRESemmé Smooth and Silky Anti-Frizz Secret Crème” to moisturize your hair and avoid any frizz without weighing your hair down.


 **Extra tip: if you want a little more volume: use a teasing comb or any small hairbrush and comb your hair upwards**

¡Hola a todas! Como les conté, estoy en Venezuela por Navidad. El otro día estaba con mi mamá viendo álbums de fotos. My mamá tenía el cabell liso pero le gustaba hacerse la permanente durante los 80s y principios de los 90s. Como parte de la serie de "Throwback Thursday" que estoy haciendo con TRESemmé, quise intentar este peinado y mostrarles como pueden lograr una versión moderna de las ondas de los 80s.

Este estilo se trata de mucho volúmen y textura; es muy fácil de hacer... y perfecto para intentar durante la época decembrina.

LO QUE NECESITAS:
- Una rizadora (evit las que son muy anchas, quieres que las ondas sean marcadas).
- Un peine para batir el cabello
- Un protector de calor como  TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Heat Protection Shine Spray 
- Una laca fijadora como TRESemmé Flawless Curls Locking Styling Spray 
- Un producto para evitar el frizz como TRESemmé Smooth and Silky Anti-Frizz Secret Creme


TUTORIAL PASO A PASO:
1. Lava tu cabello la noche anterior y deja que se seque naturalmente; es decir no lo seques o planches. Si tienes que lavarlo, usa el secador pero no lo estires.

2. Aplica el protector de calor TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Heat Protection Shine Spray. Siempre les digo la importancia de un buen protector de calor, pero se que muchas olvidan este paso importante. Usar un protector de calor ayuda a prevenir todos los efectos secundarios del uso de plancha/secador o rizadora. No olvides aplicar el producto por todo el cabello.

3. Divide tu cabello por la mitad o por un lado. Siento que si te haces la partidura por tu lado de preferencia, le das un toque más ochentoso al peinado.

4. Empieza a rizar la parte de abajo de tu cabello primero. Agarra mechones pequeños para que el look sea más drámatico. Cambia la dirección al rizar tu cabello: unos deberían ser hacia adentro y otros hacia afuera. Sostén el mechón en la rizadora por 10 segundos aproximadamente. Déjalos caer y no los abras ni los peines.


5. Aplica tu laca favorita cuando termines de rizar todo tu cabello (recomendación TRESemmé Flawless Curls Locking Styling Spray. Esta es muy buena porque ayuda a mantener el rizo y se ven muy naturales)

6. Después de la laca, espera 15 minutos antes de abrir los rizos con tus dedos. Ya que los rizaste en direcciones distintas, se deben ver muy naturales.

7. Para terminar, aplica "TRESemmé Smooth and Silky Anti-Frizz Secret Crème”. Esta crema ayuda a hidratar tu cabello y prevenir el frizz.


**recomendación extra: si quieres más volúmen puedes batir tu cabello con un peine pequeño. Solo agarra mechones pequeños y peina tu cabello hacia arriba**
