I always talk about investing in timeless pieces that you are going to wear over and over for MANY years. Fast-fashion is great, but treating yourself to something “designer” - after you have worked for it- feels amazing…AND YOU DESERVE IT!
I’m not saying to go on a shopping spree and just swiping that credit card like there is no tomorrow. I’m talking about treating it as an investment, think about it for a while, research your options, research your prices…and save for it little by little!
Siempre les hablo que es bueno invertir en piezas clásicas que sabes que vas a usar muchísimas veces y por muchísimos años. Entiendo comprar piezas muy trendy en tiendas económicas pero tienes derecho a darte un gusto de vez en cuando....especialmente si has trabajado duro todo el año.
No digo que te vuelvas loca y pases la tarjeta de crédito sin pensar en las consecuencias. Hablo de tratarlo como si fueses a comprar un carro; piénsalo por un tiempo, evalua tus opciones, investiga que sitios tienen los mejores precios, ve a la tienda a probarlo y ver la pieza en persona, etc.
Buscando páginas en internet encontré este llamado Vestiaire Collective, donde puedes encontrar piezas "usadas" (lo pongo entre comillas porque muchas piezas están como nuevas). Esta página agrega miles de productos al día, así que si revisas de vez en cuando puedes encontrar esa pieza que tanto buscabas. Si te preguntas si son auténticos, tienen un equipo de expertos asegurándose que todo sea de buena cálida y nada de imitaciones.

I always talk that we should forget about the superficial side of fashion and makeup…it should be fun, it should be a way to express how you feel and you should always change it up.
Last week I spent the weekend in Vegas with Zappos for a fun music festival called Life is Beautiful.
We took an early flight on Friday, we picked up our tickets, changed and ran to the festival. The first day I was wearing a flow burgundy dress, with a double buckle belt, and my nude Dolce Vita booties. These Dolce Vita booties go with absolutely anything- they are very comfortable so I also wore them on the plane with jeans and then with all my fun festival outfits.

El fin de semana pasado estuvimos en Las Vegas junto a Zappos para un festival de música llamado Life is Beautiful.
Volamos en un vuelo tempranito el viernes para aprovechare el día lo más posible. El primer día usé un vestido suelto con una correa con dos hebillas y mis botines favoritos de Dolce Vita. Estas botitas van con todo, son cómodas...pude haber llevado solo este par y no hubiese necesitado más nada!
I recently chopped my hair again, even shorter this time around. Personally, I don’t like romantic curls on short hair…they just feel a little cheesy- at least ON ME.
For me, to make short hair modern and fun, it should be all about TEXTURE!
I love trying out new beauty products and finding new favorites. Recently I tried out a new line from AG Hair called: TEXTURE. I’ve been using them since “the chop” more than a month ago, and I’ve been getting tons of compliments and questions on how I get my hair to be “effortless”.
As a fashion blogger: if there is one challenge about living in Miami is keeping up with the seasons without people looking at your like you are melting underneath a jacket.
While in many cities, the leaves are changing…I’m here playing with my wardrobe and buying some pumpkin scented candles to feel like October is HERE. I get a little jelly of all the girls posting pictures of gorgeous orange sceneries right now!
But it got me thinking and here are 5 easy ways to transition into “Fall” if you live in a warm weather city:
- Go for darker color clothing: summer is all about brights, pastels, floral, and vibrant prints. The easiest way to feel you are “in season” is to start wearing more burgundy, grays, black, olive, mustard. This TOUS bag is great to add that burgundy fall pop to any outfit.
- A touch of leather (better if it’s faux so it won’t be that warm) is your best friend. This style of skirt was my favorite in denim the whole Spring and Summer …and I have a feeling this one will be my favorite this Fall.
- Go for ankle booties. I wear my pair of black suede ankle booties all year round without any complains. Try to find styles that do not have extra layer of warmth on the inside. That way you can fake fall while keeping your feet happy and cool.
- Dark lipstick is the best bet for makeup. Burgundy and lipsticks with purple undertones are my favorite for Fall and Winter. They instantly take any outfit to Autumn mode without having to add any layer.
- Since we can't layer with coats...do layer on the jewelry! I love layering dainty necklaces like these from TOUS. To play with the length sometimes I even add a dainty bracelet to the hooks…and voila! Your necklace is longer!

Como fashion blogger en Miami, uno de los retos es probar tendencias otoñales sin que la gente te vea como la chica loca que sea está derritiendo del calor.
Aunque en muchas ciudades, las hojas se están cayendo...cosa que me da muchos celos (de los buenos!), yo estoy aquí jugando con mi ropa y comprando velas con olor a calabaza para al menos sentir que estamos cambiando de estaca´øn.
Eso me puso a pensar y hoy quiero compartir 5 maneras sencillas para hacer la transición a "otoño" si vives en una ciudad con un clima cálido.
- Guarda los estampados y los colores vibrantes que son muy típicos del verano. La manera más sencilla de sentirte más otoñal es empezar a usar colores más oscuros como vino, grises, negro, oliva, y mostaza. Esta cartera de TOUS es genial para el otoño por el toque de borgo na que va con cualquier outfit otoñal.
- Un toque de cuero (mejor si es sintético para que sea menos caluroso) es tu mejor amigo. Por ejemplo, este estilo de cartera fue mi favorito todo el verano en una falda de mezclilla...y esta siento que va a ser mi favorita esta temporada,
- En cuanto a zapatos, las botas gritan otoño. Busca unas al tobillo que no sea peluditas por dentro para que sean más frescas..pero igual te sientas que cambiaste de temporada.
- En maquillaje, los labiales oscuros transforman tu look; mis favoritos son los rojo oscuros y los que tienen tonos morados.
- Ya que no podemos usar capas de ropa...una opción es "usar capitas" de joyas. A mi me gusta agregar varios collares delicados a la vez como estos de Tous. No olvides jugar con el largo de los collares; si alguno es muy corto, me gusta agregar una pulsera de una cadena similar y se pone en los ganchitos, y LISTO ¡tu collar se verá más largo?

Cuando abrí mi blog, estaba en la universidad estudiando Administración y Mercadeo. Hice mi pasantía en Telemundo...suena divertido pero fue en un departamento muy administrativo y formal. Luego al graduarme trabajé por un año en una agencia de Mercadeo. Wow, me siento vieja pensando como pasa el tiempo de rápido.
...pero como saben, poco a poco este blog se convirtió en mi trabajo, y me siento muy afortunada de eso porque de verdad disfruto mucho lo que hago.
Muchas de ustedes han crecido conmigo: nos graduamos de la universidad, empecemos a trabajar, algunas nos hemos casado, y otras ya con hijos! Pero todavía recibo muchas preguntas, especialmente de chicas recién graduadas sobre que usar en el trabajo.
Creo que todas asociamos ropa de oficina con ropa aburrida, clásica, muy conservadora- pero yo si creo que puedes disfrutar y expresar tu estilo en el trabajo. La primera compra debe ser unos pantalones negros clásicos que te queden de sueño..
