If you didn’t meet her in my Mother’s Day 2016 post, I want to introduce you to MY MOM- the most gorgeous woman ever…inside and out! I’m everything I am because of her. And I’m so excited to partner with Ulta Beauty to share some beauty lessons that were passed from “mi mami” and some that I passed to her after becoming a blogger.
I'm not going to lie; when I was little, we probably fought every other day. The older I get, the more I understand her and the more I want to be half the woman she is, half the wife, half the mother, half the friend she is.

You know when you forget you have certain item, but then you find it at the end of your drawer and then yo can't stop wearing it. Yeah, that's what happened to me with these ripped white boyfriend jeans.
I remember when I got them I thought they were so so ripped- trends change and I don't find them as crazy ripped (maybe it's me who is getting crazier).
For an all white look, I paired the jeans with my favorite off-the-shoulder top. I've worn them SO MANY TIMES. I should check and do a remix. What do you guys think?
I wore this for a cheat day doing some errands. A little friend chicken and iced tee didn't hurt anybody! It was such a casual day but I loved the colors of this photos and I really wanted to share them!
No me aguanté.

He knew I had been feeling different. We live right by a pharmacy so he went with me to purchase it. He knew some type of "result" was coming his way. So I couldn't hold it in. While I was helping him with some sort of spreadsheet, I looked at him and I said "It's positive". He hugged me, the biggest hug I've ever received. I've never seen him that way, his eyes had a different spark. With a shaky voice he said "People talk about feeling their heart full, I haven't felt that until right now".
I told him to wait, that it was to soon to share it with anyone. But I could see how he wanted to scream the news through the window. We told our families a few weeks later when I headed to a local clinic for the blood test. My dad called me crying and crying out of happiness; and well, since I cry when I see him cry, I couldn't stop bawling.
Knowing how common miscarriages are, I kept telling myself I wouldn't believe it until I heard that heartbeat. I couldn't wait for that first official meeting with my OB-GYN. I was supposed to be 7 weeks and a half at that time. I went to that first appointment without him. He broke his leg a few days before and he was stuck in the bed waiting for the doctor to assign him the date for his surgery.
I cried for the first time, I always pictured that moment how you see it in the movies "holding your husband's hand, looking at each other full of pride because you have created a life together" . But it wasn't like that. I was alone staring at a purple wall full of maternity posters. The doctor came in, did the ultrasound, but he said something that scared me. He believed that Iwas a week less because he couldn't see the fetal pole. He asked me to come back in two weeks to make sure everything was developing the way it should.
That's when all the doubts started to pop in my mind, I started loosing sleep. I don't know if I always knew something was wrong or that maybe I'm a little more paranoid that I would like to admit. The environment at home was very stressful because of the major leg surgery. I had double the home responsibilities, work responsibilities I couldn't fulfill - and of course, to top it off my car broke down on the way to get some blood test for my second OB-GYN appointment.
Because of my car, I had to delay my appointment. In my head it was the best decision, the baby was going to be 11 weeks and the doctor would be able to see it. But apparently my body has an internal calendar and I started light spotting the day of my appointment. I quickly called my doctor and he said very calmy that it was very normal during the first trimester. He told me to worry if it looked like a regular period. But again, my body didn't make it to the actual appointment.
I started bleeding more and more, still not enough to fill a pad within an hour (which is when they tell you to hurry to the ER). It was late at night so we both went to sleep. Around 3am, a sharp pain woke me up; it felt like cramps but about three times worse. I knew what was happening. I've read about it, a lot. I've never felt so much pain. I've never seen so much blood -it was so much blood and tissue I don't know what was me and what was her (yes, I always pictured it as a "she"). After trying to hold my composure and accepting what had just happened, I hated what was coming next: telling him, taking away that sparkle, that illusion.
There I was again, in the same bathroom shaking worse than before- once again without knowing how to tell him. I walked out and sat on the bed, same place where I told him "it is positive", and I just whispered "it is over".
But it really wasn't over, the emotional portion of all of this was just starting. I headed to the doctor that morning to check everything and figure out the next step. Thankfully, I didn't need the D&C or any type of procedure. Honestly I was terrified of that. I don't have family in Miami and my husband couldn't drive me in case I needed to go through the procedure which includes general anesthesia.
Being the type of person I am, I know the statistics. I know how common miscarriages are. I know that it wasn't my fault. I know that it doesn't mean there is something wrong with me or my body. I know God's timing is perfect. I know that maybe it wasn't the right time. I know I know I know. I am tired of saying I know.
I don't know how many times I told myself not to dream. But how can you not fill your mind with little dreams. And that's exactly what hurts, all the illusions that only lived in my mind. That time we drove to New Orleans and for many hours all we did was talk about baby names (and started saving our favorites). All those nursery pictures I saved in a secret pinterest board called "Baby". That first ultrasound picture where I wrote "my first photo" in the back. All the plans to go with my parents to the May ultrasound; where my cousin would be in charge of the gender reveal party full of blue and pink balloons. All those hours spent on baby apps that would give me daily updates about her growth; and seeing her go from a poppy seed to God knows what because I don't know when she stopped developing.
What hurts is that emptiness I feel on my chest. An emptiness of missing something I never felt, something I never saw, something I never hugged, that I never ANYTHING.
Now what?
I'm not writing this for you to feel bad for me. I want to share my experience because I feel there is a huge taboo around miscarriages. There's something about this society that makes us feel like less of a woman if we have one, that we weren't able to "procreate".
To all women out there who unfortunately have gone through this loss, I want you to know that you are not alone, all you feel is absolutely normal. You have the right to mourn for as long as you want, you have the right to talk openly about it without feeling ashamed. You have the right to cry, to do what you need to heal. You have the right to see friends that are pregnant or with babies and question "why them and not me". You have the right to try again as soon as you can , or to wait for as long as you need. Remember how strong you are, that you have people around you that love you...and that all of this will make you even stronger.

How do I start this post?
With a direct "I was pregnant and I lost it"? Or with a "life sometimes sucks and things don't go as planned"?
I wanted to have a long-term life plan- maybe it was my internal clock ticking- saying that it was time to have that dreaded conversation I was so afraid of. Since I like writing, I put all my feelings down and I gave that piece of paper to him (I overanalyze everything, including myself, and I've noticed that I like finishing up my train of though, and I can only accomplish that by writing it down). We talked about it and we were on the exact same page: we want to be a family.
It wasn't from one day to the other; we stopped being careful and months passed by. However in January we made a decision to "try for real". That's when I opened my little period app to make sure what dates I would be ovulating. It happened. It actually happened that month. I feel like my body instantly knew, I felt different. I couldn't wait to confirm it with the pregnancy test. The test instantly showed a big "YES"; and while I was shaking in the bathroom, a million thoughts were going through my head. I texted a friend that knew how I was feeling and I could hear her jumping of excitement (I also texted my mom, but she didn't believe me until I showed her the blood test a couple of weeks later- you know, MOMS).
He wan't home when I woke up. I'm not sure if he was working out or at a coffee meeting. While I waited, I googled all the ways you can surprise your significant other. I hated most options, I'm not the typical corny girl, I didn't want the onesie with "you are going to be a father". Everything would have taken at least three days to arrive, I didn't have three days. As soon as he walked home, I felt like I was the official holder of the biggest secret of the planet.
He knew I had been feeling different. We live right by a pharmacy so he went with me to purchase it. He knew some type of "result" was coming his way. So I couldn't hold it in. Now what?
Do we pick another name because that was hers?
Do I just delete that Pinterest board because it all belonged to her?
Am I always going to feel that there is something missing? That the first one didn't arrive?
Am I always going to wonder how different my life would have been if everything would have been okay?

I heard all type of comments; some were more hurtful than the others. I heard "maybe you just didn't take care of yourself enough" (which makes me so mad because I did everything on my end to have a healthy pregnancy), or the most common one "everything happens for a reason". Yes it's true but that phrase only makes me wonder the "why", and I'm never going to get that answer.

Yesterday, I was so nervous of opening my heart and soul publicly to talk about my miscarriage...I have been slowly answering all comments, texts, DMs, tweets, etc💓💓 Gabe and I are feel so thankful and overwhelmed with love. We can't thank you enough for sharing your story with us, for your sweet words, your blessings! 💓🙏🏼💓 Love you all!
These photos are from two weeks ago when our weekly date night became a concert with Nicky Jam and ChocquibTown . We were half-working, half having a blast.
The theme of the concert was all-white. So I ended up wearing this gorgeous lace dress from Alexis. Most guys were wearing regular jeans, I think it is not common to see men who own white jeans. We feel so blessed to work doing what we love...and to do it together is even more fun!
Ok I know, this shirt isn't the Guns and Roses tee, but it was definitely inspired by it.
I'm honestly loving dressing a little edgier. You all know that this is a style I've loved for years and years. I like playing around with boho and romantic styles..but this is when I feel the most me.
The past month has been about finding myself again, about making new goals, and starting over. Again, something happened that I will share soon. But sometimes life just puts things into perspective and maybe that's exactly what I needed.
I've been focusing a lot on the blog. I have not been updating it every day but I've done a few articles that are full content (5 looks in one article, a day to night, etc). Just bear with me...I'm almost ready to share my experience!
Again, love you all and thanks for your love!
Honestamente, me encanta vestirme medio edgy.
And this trend is making its appearance on the blog for the fourth time!! Like I mentioned before, I really love the texture it brings to a simple outfit like this one.
I got this tee at JCPenney for under $15 and I wanted to crop it. I'm really into rocker band tees lately. I got this jeans at Target, they are part of the Who What Wear collection and I love the little flare in the boot. Since this day was all about comfort, I added my favorite sneakers: the classic Adidas Originals!
But back to the fishnets. I think it's time to get fishnet socks. it's definitely getting too hot in Miami. I'm trying to find a pair, so I've been searching the web. I'm going to link to some pairs below in case you are looking to join this trend in the warmer months!
Hope you are having a great day! XOXO
¡BESOS!
Can this outfit get any more Miami ? I mean, we have the pastels & the palm trees...so 305!
When I'm wearing bold prints, I like to keep my accessories simple. Reason why I added three TOUS necklaces in rose gold for a fun but subtle layering.
What I'm especially loving about this collection is how you can mix and match; you can choose the little chain and then add the medallions (I also added this medallion to a velvet choker for edgier outfits..such a cute touch. I can't wait to show you). All the pieces that I'm wearing are part of the Camille Collection.
If you are already planning for Mother's Day gifts, get a customized medallion + chain necklace for your mom. Pick her birthstone or maybe just one that just reminds you of her.
Another cute gift idea? Bag charms!! They are a great way to give personality to bag. I'm carrying this little crab one that I thought it was adorable. Another cute options: this butterfly, a fruit one, or the classic bear one! <3
How are the preparations for Mother's Day? Any gift ideas? big hugs!
¡No creo!
Today, in honor of Earth Day, I'm very excited to be wearing one of the dresses from the latest H&M Conscious Collection- made from sustainable materials! All companies should be heading in that direction and make sure that the entire garment life cycle is hurting the Earth as little as possible.
This H&M collection just launched on April 20th; and all of the pieces are absolutely gorgeous! This year, they introduced a new BIONIC yarn that is made with plastic recovered from shorelines, waterways, and coastal communities- protecting the oceans from plastic pollutions.
This dress is made from organic silk- which comes from silk worms living in organic mulberry trees (no pesticides, insecticides, GMOs or harsh chemicals are used in the cultivation process!).
Hopefully more brands will join this conscious movement! Let's make it happen!
Happy Earth Day!
