Last month I did a fun video with Pink and Pepper- the whole theme was "back to school". Even though it was the middle of July, I tried to come up with cool outfit ideas that worked for the transitional months. I've had a couple of problems uploading the video first so this is like a little sneak peek...I feel like you are going to like the video even more if you see the pics first! I love how transitional this look is- the booties work in the late-summer and with jeans/tights during the fall. You can also take off the long cardigan if it's too hot...or put it on in class (at least I have to since the AC is so cold). What do you think of the first look? Ready for the rest?

El mes pasado hice un video divertidísimo con Pink and Pepper con looks de "Regreso a Clases". Tenía planeado publicar el look hoy pero ya estoy en Venezuela y he tenido unos problemitas subiendo el video. Por esta razon quise mostrarles uno de los looks que van a ver: la idea era mostrarles looks de transición entre verano y otoño...considérenlo como un pequeño "adelanto" del video. De este look me gusta que funciona perfectamente sin el suéter largo en los momentos más calientes del día...o el suéter puede ayudar si estudias en un salón muy frío y afuera hace calor. Y los botines también puedes utilizarlos más adelantes con jeans o medias panty debajo. ¿Qué les parece el primer look? ¿Están listas para el resto?!

Last year, I took a class where we forecasted trends for Spring-Summer 2013; and one of the trends that caught my attention was "marble"..now here I am, actually wearing it a year later.  It gets so hot in Miami that all I want is wear maxi skirts...they are so comfy and light, perfect for the heat.  I ended up pairing this maxi skirt with a white crop top (last week I did a remix with this top, check it out by clicking here), gold accessories, and a dark purple bag- like one of the colors of the print. I wore this to go to a breakfast in Miami Beach to celebrate the launch of a pajama setdesigned by Ari Dein for the W Hotels. I had the opportunity to speak with the designer, and she was a sweetheart...and so talented! Hope you liked my look!

ps: Gabo was out of town the day of the event so we had to take the pics another day- that's why I have curly hair on the actual event...but the outfit is the exact same :).

El año pasado, en la universidad estudiamos las tendencias para la Primavera-Verano 2013; y uno de los estampados de una de las tendencias que predecimos fue el "mármol. En Miami se pone tan caliente durante el verano, que a mi lo que me provoca es usar faldas largas y frescas todo el día. Quise combinar la falda de colores con un top cortito blanco (la semana pasada hice un remix con este top, pueden verlo haciendo click aquí), accesorios dorados, y una cartera morada- como uno de los colores en la falda. Esto fue lo que utilicé para ir a un desayuno en Miami Beach la semana pasada. La diseñadora de pijamas y piezas íntimas, Ari Dein, diseñó un set de pijama especial para el Hotel W en South Beach. Tuve la oportunidad de hablar con ella y compartió conmigo su inspiración para este modelo. Espero que les haya gustado mi look!

Pd: las fotos las tuve que tomar un día diferente, Gabo estaba de viaje- por eso pueden notar que tenía el cabello ondulado durante el evento :).

Mientras me congelo en esta nevada de Nueva York, añoro el calorcito del caribe con estas fotos de la semana pasada. Se que me he quejado mucho del calor extremo de Miami- pero esto de no sentir los deditos es una locura (yo me quedo en los climas tropicales, donde se puede ir a la playita todo el año y no hay que preocuparse por usar un mínimo de 5 capas). El domingo pasado me escapé un ratito a la piscina; leí un poco, jugamos raqueta de playa, y saqué de paseo mi nuevo infalible...una dona mordida!! A mi me encanta la onda retro de los trajes de baño a la cintura- si lo se, no son la mejor opción para broncearte pero si lo que quieres es disfrutar de la playa/piscina con protector, son lo mejor. Y aunque generalmente me gustan más los trajes de baños MUY coloridos, quise hacer una excepción  con este de Orchid Boutique- y terminé haciendo mi look de playa todo negro. Espero que les gusten estas fotitos... todavía tengo varias de Miami de esta semana pero ya empezaré a publicar una semanita de look invernales! Besos y feliz fin de semana!

I'm writing this while I finish packing for New York Fashion Week- I feel like I'm going to miss this type of bare-legged outfits ... I know it's just for a week!! Just by looking how many sweater/jackets I'm taking, I'm already cold! This look will probably publish by the time I'm already in the big apple... so exciting!! I wore this on Saturday for a last-minute winter-gear shopping. I really needed a couple of cozy scarfs and tights... it was hard since most stores already have spring merchandise, specially here in Miami. This time I wanted to wear my new slit crop top... which I actually modeled for Furor Moda last week (check me out in all the new arrivals!!) I know I'll wear this top a lot in the Spring/Summer.  In Miami, we like to pretend we have seasons somehow, even if it is by playing with darker color palettes. Reason why, this time I'm wearing the top with a pleather skirt and my new favorite hat (I can't stop wearing it... I guess that we you get used to wearing hats, you feel naked without them). Les escribo mientras termino de hacer mi maleta para ir a Nueva York por la Semana de la Moda- creo que voy a extrañar MUCHO el clima de Miami. Con solo ver la cantidad de suéteres y chaquetas que llevo, tengo frío. Creo que cuando esto se publique ya voy a estar allá.. :). Esto fue lo que utilicé el sábado para ir de mini-compras de inviernos- estaba buscando bufandas, guantes, medias pantys, etc. Lo cual fue un intento fallido ya que todas las tiendas ya están primaverales y más aún en esta ciudad. Para esto quise usar mi nuevo top cortito.. que por cierto fui la modelo de lo nuevo esta semana, incluyendo este top. Se que le voy a dar mucho uso los próximos meses con piezas muy veraniegas- pero como aquí nos gusta pretender que estamos en otra estación, lo utilicé con una falda de cuero con pliegues. También agregué mi nuevo sombrero favorito, me lo quiero poner con todo y todos los días. Siento que cuando uno se acostumbra a usar sombreros, luego sientes que te hace falta en la cara- loqueras mías. Finalmente agregué unas flats comodísimas rojas/negras con tachas.
