I kept comparing Boston's weather the week  I visited to Caracas'💓 not too warm... but out of nowhere, it was a whole different story (it was so HOT!).

When packing, I always lay down outfits and plan what I'm going to wear (plus I always bring extra options just in case)...this was a total improvised one but it was too hot for anything else .

This embroidered sheer top is definitely a statement piece. I can't wait to wear them over a swimsuit, with some autumn layers, with a denim short underneath, or even a slip dress.

Llevaba días diciendo que el clima de Boston estaba más que perfecto (como el de Caracas🙏🏼😍)...pero uno de los días, el calor de los últimos días de verano salió a relucir.

Cuando hago maleta, me gusta poner todo en el piso y planear lo mejor que pueda  y sacarle provecho a todo lo que llevo. Estas piezas no las iba a usar necesariamente juntas, pero funcionó perfecto para un calor muy estilo Miami.

Esta camisa larga transparente es definitivamente una de esas piezas WOW pero eso no significa que no puedas sacarle provecho. Me la imagino sobre trajes de baño, con más capas en otoño, y más elegante con un vestidito negro de tiritas.

I wore this top for the Summer BBQ I hosted. Check it out by clicking HERE. But I couldn't resist getting the matching skirt. I got it online since it wasn't available in my local target and I'm loving how they look together!  I've been such a fan of gingham way before it was the it print.

I've been very into pops of red recently and this bag + lipstick is my favorite add-on to any outfit.

I wore this to an event where Gabe was speaking about photography. So proud of him!

Este top con este estampado a cuadritos lo utilicé en la parrillada que les mostré  hace unas semanas. Pero como pueden ver, venía con una falda. En mi Target más cercano no tenían la falda, así que la pedí por internet. Este estampado es realmente de mis favoritos, llevo años usándolo y amo que este tan de moda ahorita.

También creo que se han podido dar cuenta que me encantan los toques de rojo. Esta cartera combina perfecto con este labial - por eso no los he dejado de usar.

Esto lo utilicé para ir un evento donde Gabe estuvo hablando de fotografía. ¡que orgullo!

I got this dress without trying it on first...yes totally my fault. I saw it hanged at Target and grabbed immediately as a piece I knew I could wear during Swim Week.♀️

I grabbed it because I loved the print and fabric but there was something about it that just felt "boring" on me- I think it was the neckline (a little too round, the buttons where grand-ma is).

 After an hour of playing with it in the mirror (I added belts...tried wearing off the shoulder, backwards...but nothinggg), it finally came to me: why not add an edgy bralette, my favorite faux leather shorts underneath, and only close the button at the waist? 

I liked the result and I'm happy I didn't give up on it (because I was about to return it)! Don't be afraid to rethink the pieces you already own or the ones you buy.

I saw a friend wearing it over jeans and it looks SO good. Also open like an over the shoulder, I'll give it a few tries to do a remix and show you that it is all about creativity!🖤

Este vestido lo compré sin probarmelo. Yo se yo se, ¿quién me manda!?  Cuando lo vi en el gancho de Target, me llamó mucho la atención pero es que me lo imaginaba diferente.

Lo agarré porque me encanta el estampado de puntitos y la tela es ligera perfecta para el verno. Pero el cuello es muy redondo, lo cual con los botones lo hace ver un poco de abuelita en día de misa. 

 Quería ponérmelo para un evento durante #SwimWeek, y lo intenté todooo ( agregar cinturones, abrir los botones para que quedara como si fuese con los hombros al aire, al revés...) después de una hora haciendo un desastre en mi closet ( y sala y cocina), quise usarlo como si fuese un kimono/cardi.

 Abrí todos los botones dejando solo el de la cintura cerrado y agregué un bralette con muchas tiritas, y mis shorts favoritos ! Me alegra no haberme rendido con este vestido porque me sacó de mi zona de confort y me obligó a verlo de otra manera! ¡Atrévanse a jugar con las piezas de que tienen/compran y sáquenle todo el provecho!

Last month I was in New York City...because I was shooting withJC Penney, and Chictopia!! Whoop Whoop! The campaign included 10 influential girls from different backgrounds, body-types, and style stories..and it was such an honor to be part of that group!  I love that JC Penney, is dedicated to fitting and empowering all women with high quality products at an affordable price!

When I started my blog I did it because I wanted to learn about fashion while sharing while I've learned in the form of a blog. I would spend hours and hours reading magazines, fashion books, blogs, and websites to educate myself about trends, body shapes, etc. One of the things I always say is that your style is your business card, it's the first thing people see when they see you. Your clothes should express who you are...who you feel...who you want to be. But that is not all, fashion is just a layer of who you are- it's not the dress you are wearing, it's what you are doing with that fabulous dress. I feel like the best way to go after your dreams is not only passion...it also involves knowledge about that industry. That's why it was very important to be to go back to school and study Fashion merchandising and then a Masters in Design and Media Management.

El mes pasado tuve la oportunidad de ir a Nueva York para ser parte de una campaña de JC Penney, Chictopia, y otras 10 chicas (no solo reconocidas si no también modelos a seguir...y para mi fue un honor ser parte de ese grupo). 

Siempre les he dicho que cuando empecé el blog, lo hice porque quería aprender con ustedes sobre moda. Yo pasaba horas leyendo revistas, libros, y en internet sobre tendencias, diferentes tipos de cuerpo, etc... y la idea era compartir lo que iba aprendiendo. A mi me encanta todo lo que tenga que ver con ropa y estilo porque lo que utilizas es tu tarjeta de presentación,  es lo que quieres decirle al mundo de ti, es tu manera de expresarte. Pero también he dicho que eso no lo es todo, que lo que tu ropa no te define...que tu eres mucho más que lo que usas.  Por eso para mi fue muy importante estudiar Mercadeo de Moda, el curso de maquillaje, y luego el postgrado.  La manera de lograr tus sueños es parte dedicación y pasión...pero tiene que ver mucho con talento y educación.. y verte bella y a la moda es solo alguito extra.

When you live in Miami (or any tropical location), the best way to update your wardrobe for each season is to play with colors. When I think of Spring, I always think of pastel colors and fun floral prints.  I think Ted Baker always has the best original prints for Spring….and I couldn't help with fall in love with the latest collection (with has the coolest Instagram campaign!!). The #Pinch_Me campaign pictures have hidden messages and figures that appear when you play with the Instagram filters. The best part if you enter, you can win a trip to Portmeirion (where Ted's SS15 campaign was shot) and win tickets to premier music Festival Number 6.

Al vivir en Miami (o en cualquier ciudad tropical), la mejor manera de cambiar tu guardarropa cada temporada es jugar con los colores. Cuando me dicen Primavera, me imagino colores pasteles  y estampados florales.  Siento que Ted Baker es el mejor cuando se trata de estampados primaverales, siempre termino entrando a esta tienda en esta temporada. Por cierto, ¿vieron la nueva campaña? Me parece genial el uso de Instagram…las fotos de la campaña revela mensajes e imágenes escondidas cuando juegas con los filtros de la aplicación.
