Mara Hoffman is always one of my favorites. Every season I always look forward to her runways- she has a distinctive bohemian style but every season she is daring…and she didn’t disappoint me in her presentation for Fall/Winter 2016 in New York Fashion Week. She shared “ I wanted the collection to feel like you were sitting at a dinner table with all the major icons from the 70s- Cher, Jerry Hall, Bianca Jagger, etc”.

This season, I absolutely loved the big voluminous curls her models featured on the runway. TRESemmé, as the Official haircare Sponsor of New York Fashion Week, debuted the new collection “Beauty-Full”…which I find it very cool and innovative because it has a reverse wash system (meaning that you apply you conditioner first, and then your shampoo second…this was designed for even more volume).

I was so inspired to recreate this 70s glamour look and I have partnered with TRESemmé to bring you the step by the step on how they exactly created this look on the Mara Hoffman Presentation.

Mara Hoffman es de mis favoritas. Todas las temporadas me sorprenden sus colecciones...porque apesar de que ella le pone su sello bohemio a todas sus piezas, siempre se arriesga a probar diferentes siluetas.  Para su presentación Otoño/Invierno 2016 en Nueva York compartió que quería que su presentación tuviese una vibra como si estuvieses sentada comiendo con los iconos de la moda de los años 70- como Cher, Jerry Hall, Bianca Jagger, etc.

Y en la presentación, sus modelos llevaron unos rizos con mucho volúmen. TRESemmé, el patrocinador oficial de cabello de la Smana de la Moda en Nueva York, mostró su nueva colección "Beauty-Full"- este nuevo sistema me pareció muy interesante e innovador porque es totalmente al contrario. Utilizas primero el acondicionador, y luego el champú...esto te da aún más volumen. 

No podía esperar para recrear este look, así que hoy me uno a TRESemmé otra vez para mostrarles el paso a paso de como se hizo exactamente en la presentación de Mara.

Hey girls!! If you follow me on IG or Snapchat, maybe you already know this...but we were in Key West last week. So today I'm trying something a little different...instead of separating the post by look, I'm doing more of "recaps". I like it because I can tell you more about the experience instead of just focusing of what I'm wearing.

Key West is just 3 hours away driving from Miami- which is not bad at all. It is the Southernmost point of Continental USA and you can even see Cuba on a clear day.  The Keys are basically little islands connected by bridges (the view from a super long 11 mile bridge is just gorgeous...that blue ocean is beautiful!).

"The Gates Key West" invited us for a quick getaway. The first plus for the hotel happened before we even got there. We were on the way to leave Chiki at my sister-in-law's house and I decided to check online and it said pet-friendly. I literally was jumping of excitement.  As soon as we got there, even before we got our key to the room, Chiki got a barkbox package with treats, a water bowl, and toys (how amazing is that!). There's even a picture below of Chiki when we were opening his box, and he was SO excited.

The concept of the hotel is a little retro but the rooms are so clean and modern...the decor is very cool too (there was a beachy Christmas tree and everything!!). You can rent bikes to move around town, which is honestly the easiest and best way to get to see the little city. The hotel has some hipster characteristics...like the cool food truck (open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner), and a bar. When we were there, I was looking at pictures of people at the hotel and I realized that I saw a girl that just posted by the pool. We kinda stalked each other and we meet with our respective boyfriends/husbands. This is definitely the best part of the industry, getting to know amazingly talented people!

My looks were very simple and beach-ish! I just took my fave summer pieces with me and mix and match them there! I only forgot to pack sunglasses...thankfully I had these in Gabe's car! Check out all the details of what I'm wearing below!

¡Hola! ¡Hola! Si me siguen en Instagram saben que estuve en Key West la semana pasada...en vez de dividir los post, quise ponerlo casi todo en un artículo (díganme que opinan de este formato; me gusta porque me siento menos repetitiva y así puedo contarles más en detalle de la experiencia y no solo de lo que estoy utilizando).

Key West queda a unas 3 horas de Miami. Esta pequeña ciudad es el punto más al sur de todo Estados Unidos; y por lo que tengo entendido eran pequeñas isletas (cayos), pero ahora esta todo conectado con puentes. Por cierto hay un puente muy lindo de 11 millas llegando ahí y la vista es espectacular.

Nos invitó el hotel "The Gates" y de verdad que la pasamos increíble. Cuando estabamos de camino a dejar a Chiki con mi cuñada, llamamos de casualidad al hotel para ver si nos dejaban llevar a chiki. Y SI!, nos emocionamos mucho porque en mi opinión todos los hoteles deberían ser "pet-friendly"; nuestras mascotas son parte de nuestra familia. Al llegar lo primero que nos dieron fue un kit para Chiki de Barkbox que traía caramelitos de perro, un pote de agua y juguetitos. En las fotos hay una de Chiki abriendo su caja extra contento.

 El concepto es estilo motel pero las habitaciones son super modernas y con un toque retro. También alquilan bicicletas y de verdad que es la mejor manera de moverse en Key West- aparte que todo es muy lindo y se aprecia mejor en bici. Como el hotel es bastante sencillo, en vez de tener un restaurante, tiene un "food truck" donde ofrecen desayuno, almuerzo y cena. Y también hay un bar al lado de la piscina donde por casualidad estuvimos compartiendo con una fotógrafa, Lisa Diederich, que también fue invitada por el hotel. Y me encantó compartir con ella y su novio, como siempre digo..esta industria es para conocer gente y no tomarlo como una competencia.

Mis looks fueron muy cómodos y playeros...desde unos shorts blancos con una camisa blanca con los hombros al descubierto, shorts de jean con mi traje de baño, y un cover-up largo que es de mis favoritos. Abajo les dejo los enlaces a todos. ¡Besos!

After two days at the music festival…Grasie, Erica and I decided to stay at the house and spend the day chilling! When I was making breakfast, I saw a key that said "Marina/pool"… so we ended up exploring and taking pictures along the way (hey, we are bloggers after all).  After a day at the pool, we headed to Walmart to get food and we cooked lasagna. To end up a day that felt kinda like a slumber part, we watched "Never Been Kissed" and we talked until 3am!

Después de dos dias yendo al festival, decidimos escaparnos y tener un día tranquilo! Mientras estábamos haciendo el desayuno, vi una llave que decía "marina/piscina"…y quisimos ir a explorar ( y como buenas bloggers, tomar fotos a donde sea que fuésemos). Después de pasar la tarde en la piscina, fuimos a Walmart a comprar comida y cocinamos lasagna… y terminamos nuestro día de niñas muy estilo pijamada viendo "Never Been Kissed" de Drew Barrymore y chismeando hasta las 4 am…admito que ese tipo de días son mis favoritos!

And here's the recap of my fourth day at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim- even though there were a couple of parties starting at noon, I arrived to South Beach around 5pm for a Tory Burch event. The hotel was beautiful and the models kept changing for us to preview the collection (btw one of the models was Mikaela from America's Next Top Model...yes, guilty pleasure -I still watch that show). After that we headed to the Mara Hoffman fashion show, I was really excited for this one and she didn't disappoint anyone. I absolutely loved all the details on the swimsuits and coverups, the gorgeous prints that scream Aztec and Egyptian art (check out all the pictures Gabo took below). About my outfit: I really wanted to wear this white lace dress with the fringe bag for that tribal vibe; and it was funny because a couple of bloggers were wearing white lace too, it looked like we planned it. Aquí está mi pequeño resúmen del cuarto día de "Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim"- aunque habían varias fiestas y eventos empezando al mediodía, mi agotamiento solo me dejó llegar a South Beach como a las 5 de la tarde para un evento de "Tory Burch". El hotel estaba hermosísimo y pudimos ver la nueva de playa- una de las modelos era Mikaela de America's Next top Model... si si admito que todavía veo a Tyra jaja). Después de eso corrimos al desfile de Mara Hoffman, era uno de lo que más quería ver y no me decepcionó para nada. Me encantaron todos los modelos de traje de baño- tenían detalles y estampados lindísimos muy similares al arte Azteca y Egipcia (miren abajo todas las fotos que tomó Gabo). Sobre mi outfit: quería usar este vestidito cómodo de encaje blanco y no fui la única- varias blogueras estaban en encaje claro, parecía que nos habíamos puesto de acuerdo. Agregué la cartera de flecos para darle un toque más tribal. ¡Espero que disfruten las fotos! ¡Un abrazo grande!
