I’ve been living in Miami for 13 years already (which is CRAZY, time does fly!). For 8 years, I would travel back to Venezuela to spend the Holidays with my family- and my husband would go to Puerto Rico where he is from.
We wouldn’t even decorate our house because we were always traveling. We got married in 2014 but it wasn’t until Nico was born last year that we started thinking about creating our OWN little traditions (because yes, we are both Latinos but each country has completely different traditions).
Last year Nico was 6.5 months and now he is a year and a half. He is still too little to understand what’s happening but it means so much to us to see him enjoy such a wonderful time.
We started this year by putting the decorations together. I was nervous about getting a tree and that he would try to steal the ornaments. But I took a chance with a little tree. Yes, it did happen…more than once! BUT he eventually understood that they are not toys.
A few nights before Christmas, after putting our little one to sleep, we sat down in our living room, put a Holiday movie in the LG OLED TV, and we started to wrap all the presents. We ended up watching a few movies but it was such a nice way to spend time together, talk, drink wine, and get the presents READY! I have a feeling that this will become a yearly tradition.
When I was little I remember always partying with my big family and opening the presents at midnight. However, he is still too little. So the adults exchange the gifts at midnight and then in the morning, we let him open his gifts!!
To make it feel extra Holiday-ish (since we live in Miami and it hasn’t been under 80 degrees since January), we put a fireplace in the LG OLED B9 while opening gifts and then proceeded to watch a Holiday movie with him while all in our fun elf Pjs!! Hopefully he’ll dress up with us a while !
Let me tell you a bit about the LG OLED TV B9:
My first impression was WOW, it is so sleek! It’s design adds the final sophisticated touch to any room. Then as soon as we turned it on, I was impressed with the quality. It produces one billion rich colors, including perfect blacks and infinite contrast. For my experts out there: it has the power of 8.3 million individually lit pixels. And as a smart TV, it was very easy to download all the apps and streaming services!

I love the idea of adding a bit of Holiday sparkle throughout the season- and beyond, because who said sequins are only for the Holidays?
This Holiday season I wanted to add a sequin midi skirt to my wardrobe. Yes, it is a statement piece BUT it is also extremely versatile - and I’m ALL about versatility. I have a feeling that this skirt will come handy year after year. This one is from Halogen, from Nordstrom- it also comes in blue, gold, and black sequins. I actually was super indecisive - especially because the blue one is GORGEOUS.
Since I like mixing dressier items with casual items. I decided to pair the sequin skirt with a gray crop-top sweater from Topshop. It really balances the sparkle of the skirt, it makes the look more comfortable, AND it is still super cute and dressy for any HOLIDAY PARTY.
Then walking around Nordstrom, I saw this gorgeous pink feathered bag and I knew it had to be mine. I’ve worn it twice already and I’ve gotten so many compliments on it. It’s the perfect size to fit exactly what you need, and it works from day to night. I wore it with jeans and it was definitely the perfect touch to a casual look too.
The final stop was the GIFT section at the store. Nordstrom has great holiday gift guides for inspiration on what to get anyone in your life. Here are some last-minute gift ideas:
I was looking for a few things for my cousins and sisters in law. And again, I got distracted with these earrings and headband- they are such perfect gifts I ended up getting them from me lol- don’t blame me! The headband is BaubleBar I love it in black but with my dark hair, the pink one popped better! And these star earrings are EVERYTHING AND MORE!

Thank you Disney+ and ShopStyle for sponsoring this post.
When I was little, I watched “The Little Mermaid” probably 500 times. My older brother still tells me that he doesn’t understand how the VHS would still play it. It’s absolutely incredible how much things have changed since the 90s and it’s mind-blowing to think that Nico is (and will be able) to have access to basically any movie, any time, any place!
I was so excited to check out Disney+, and it truly is more than a streaming service! There are hundreds of movies and series to stream: some bring me back to my childhood, and some are becoming great traditions with my own little family!
Since Disney+ is home to Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and more, I keep adding and adding to my watchlist! I’m really excited to watch the live-action Lady and the Tramp, re-watch the Toy Story saga (absolute favorite), and Lizzie McGuire (as I’m very excited to see the new Lizzie McGuire series! Who else is?).
I like that there is content that Nico loves (his latest obsession is anything with Pluto in it, it makes him laugh like crazy), content that we love as a family (I could watch Coco every week), and also content for a couple’s night in (we have watched a few National Geographic documentaries, and they are amazing).

So ready for you 2018🎉🎉
Midnight kiss for three (quick one with my awkward grab because my dad was the one taking the photo🤣🤣).
So instead of looking back to 2017, like I've done in the past. I want to look forward to this amazing year that's about to come. So let me list 18 things I'm looking forward to 2018.
1. Let's start with the baby ones. Obviously, I can't wait to meet BABYBOY in May.
2. Feeling the baby kick real hard.
3. Laughing at the random things Gabe tells the belly every night.
4. Turning the den of the house into a tiny tiny nursery.
5. Seeing Chiki with his baby brother!
6. Do a baby moon around February, to definitely make sure we enjoy the last moments together (well, until he turns 18 and leaves the house haha). Okay I'm going to stop now with baby stuff because it will be like a hundred things since I have so much to do and get ready for.
7. Turn 30! OMG I'm turning 30 by the end of the year. I'm actually excited, the 20s were amazing in their own way and I can't wait for this exciting time.
8. Bond with my niece and nephew in Ecuador this first week of the year there.
9. Revamping the site to NANY.
10. Continue working with brands I love.
11. Seeing Gabe grow in his photography business.
12. Spending time with friends. I want to do more "escape rooms" , and host more theme parties.
13. Sharing more blogging tips on the blog. I love inspiring you girls to know your worth and keep killing it.
14. I want to do a cruise, but I think it will be either ASAP (most cruise lines don't let pregnant woman get on a cruise after the 24th week) or with the cutest baby by the end of the year with my family.
15. Sharing more personal blogposts. The word closet always made me feel like I had to stay fashion-focused and leaving it behind means opening more to you guys.
16. I should start finding a house. So I'm looking forward to the process. But this might be something for 2019!
17. To do fun maternity shoots!
18. To hear more from you guys: what do you want to see? TELL ME!
While most of the U.S celebrates the holidays bundled up, we have to adapt some of the winter trends to work for our not-so-cold weather here in Miami.
I’m so excited to partner with Target today to show you two holiday looks that will look festive in our 70-80 degree temperature! I’m a big Target fan…when I go to get cereal, I ALWAYS end up with a piece of apparel, an accessory or some type of home decor… and maybe even a book!
As soon as I saw this dark floral dress, I knew it had to be mine! I feel there is a misconception that florals are only for spring and summer…and I’m all about breaking “the rules!” Make it work for a festive day outfit by wearing it with ankle booties, a hat, and a plum lipstick! Because of the girly bohemian vibe, this dress can also transition from day to night by adding a leather jacket and switching your boots to heels. And when the holiday season is over and you are ready for spring, you can pair it with a denim jacket!
Let’s talk about my night look…great for an evening party this holiday! Velvet always comes back for the holidays; but this year, this romantic and luxurious texture is back stronger than ever. Dare to wear this fabric in a dress (I’m obsessed with this velvet dress) or a blazer like the one I’m wearing. A velvet blazer is also perfect for a holiday work party! However, I went for a flirty metallic dress and over-the-knee boots! Over-the-knee boots are a must have for the colder months, even if you live in not-so-cold weather! They are sexy, fun, they go with everything (jeans, skirts, dresses), and work from day to night. For versatility, look for ones like these since they have a chunkier heel.
What are your Holiday plans? Which look was your favorite!? XOXO
The holiday season can definitely feel hectic and overwhelming, especially if you are like me and leave all the holiday shopping until the last minute. But we have to remember that this is not what the holidays are about. The holiday season is about moments of joy.
