Little Mermaid was my favorite movie growing up, so here we are as Ariel and Sebastian!!!
Instead of the classic purple top and green tail, I went for the DIY sheet dress when she gets her legs and starts the human adventure!
The only thing I bought for myself was the starfish hair clips from Amazon.
I've had this redhead wig since last year and I've used it for Daphne (Scooby Doo), Mean Girls (Cady Heron), Darla (Nemo), and now Ariel... it's a wig remix haha! You can see more at #nanylovesHalloween on Instagram.

La Sirenita era una de mis películas favoritas y tenía tiempo pensando en este disfraz (lo dudé porque amo a las villanas y hubiese preferido ser Ursula jajaja) PERO en vez de disfrazarme con el top morado y cola de sirena clásico de Ariel, quise que fuese el look recién salida del mar...con una sábana y una cuerda...y su acompañante Sebastian!!.
Lo único que compré para mi disfraz fueron las estrellitas para el cabello. Les cuento que la peluca ya la he usado en 4 disfraces: Daphne de Scooby Doo, Cady de Mean Girls, Darle de Nemo..y ahora Ariel!! 🧜🏼♀️

GET THE LOOK
I'm super excited that October is right around the corner, it is my birth month and I absolutely love dressing up. I'm a scorpio so my inner witchy side is more than happy to show.
I know I'll wear this black leather skirt a lot, but I'm most excited about these tights. I've been looking for a pair of tights like this since the last Holiday season. I honestly can't wait to wear them for a Holiday party or for New Years eve.
I also added a few spooky books to start feeling the Halloween vibe.

Estoy super emocionada que Octubre está a la vuelta de la esquina, este mes cumplo años y AMO disfrazarme. También soy Escorpio entonces mi bruit interna está más que feliz de asomarse a finales de septiembre.
Sé que esta falda la usaré muchísimo pero estoy más emocionada aún por estas medias panty de estrellas. Llevaba buscando unas desde las Navidades pasadas y sé que también las voy a usar para alguna fiesta navideña o para el fin de año.
También añadí un par de libros de Halloween a mi decoración para darle otro toque más Halloween a la casa.

This costume was so fun, and people really loved it last year on my IG. I guess NEMO is such a cute movie that it really resonates with so many people.
My son had to be Nemo, of course. I went for Darla and my husband was the dentist.
OUTFIT/COSTUME DETAILS:
My skirt was from Target, and it also works for Cher in Clueless.
The purple sweater is an XL in kid's size. If you can't find a piece, check the junior department!!
I did the braces by twisting aluminum fold, it took me less than 5 minutes.
I could have gotten a redhead wig but the two little ponytails with my brown hair work too.

¡¡¡NEMO, DARLA, y el dentista!!
Fue super divertido de hacer, aparte que Nemo es una película tan linda que a todo el mundo le pareció una ternura. Les dejo todos los detalles:
Mi falda es de Target, no es de disfraz, todavía tengo en mente disfrazarme de Cher la de Clueless co está falda.
Mi suéter es del departamento de niños, no encontraba un suéter morado y lo encontré en Hanes en la talla más grande.
Los brackets los hice doblando papel aluminio, mega sencillo de hacer.
Darla tiene el cabello rojo pero preferí simplemente hacerme dos cositas.

I've always loved Halloween. My birthday is a few days before Halloween and it feels like the perfect excuse to make my friends dress up at my parties.
However, since becoming a mom (and since I enjoy dressing up so much), I started thinking about all the amazing costumes I wanted to do with my little one. Since I have this blog, I have the perfect excuse to dress up to give you all tons of ideas.
This costume is from last year but I never shared them here. Looking for inspiration, I found tons of mommy + baby costumes with Disney Princesses and their pet (aka Little Mermaid and flounder, Jasmine + the tiger, etc). However, I love the dark side of Halloween- so I thought it would be way more fun to dress up as a villain!! And I WAS RIGHT! Cruella was one of my favorites to do last year; the perfect mix of evil and fashion!
I'm also trying to make sure my costumes are made with pieces I already own, or will rewear again. I'm trying to stay away from store costume, at least for me.
ALL YOU NEED
Fashion-wise:
- A little black dress. You can play around with the style you feel the most glamorous in.
- A faux-fur coat (so easy to get at thrift stores).
- Red heels (I ended up with black heels, loved them too).
- Red gloves
Beauty-wise:
- Red lipstick
- Vibrant green eyeshadow and strong eyebrows.
- At this point I had long hair so I did a faux-bob hairstyle and I used white hair spray to get that classic Cruella look.
It was so much fun!!

Siempre pero SIEMPRE me ha gustado Halloween. Cumplo años el 25 de octubre, entonces mi celebración de cumpleaños era la excusa perfecta para hacer que mis amigos se disfrazarán.
Pero admito que desde que nació Nico (estas fotos son del año pasado), hay algo en mí que quiere hacer todos los disfraces posibles porque va a haber un momento donde el no va a querer disfrazarse conmigo.
Cuando empecé a buscar inspiración en Pinterest, encontré muchos disfraces de princesas de Disney (como Ariel y Flounder o Blancanieves y los enanitos). Pero yo como la rebelde que soy de corazón, dije: ¿Y LAS VILLANAS?
También intento que mis disfraces se puedan hacer con piezas que ya tengo en el closet o que pueda encontrar fácil y re-usar- van a ver que esto va a ser común en todos los disfraces que he hecho. Por esta razón, CRUELA ES PERFECTA- aparte es fashion y malévola.
PARA LA ROPA:
- Un vestido negro
- Un abrigo de piel (preferiblemente sintética o vintage).
- Tacones (los de la caricatura son rojos, pero yo opté por unos negros).
- Guantes rojos.
- Aretes llamativos.
PARA EL LOOK DE BELLEZA:
En ese momento yo tenía el cabello largo, entonces hice un bob falso. Lo dividí por un lado y apliqué un spray de cabello color blanco.
En cuanto al maquillaje: unos labiales rojos y una sombra verde escarchada.

WHERE TO MR. & MRS VAMPIRE? To my BIRTHDAY PARTY in UBER!
If you have been following me for a while, you know I love being a Halloween baby (well, or almost Halloween Baby). All my friends know I'm all about dressing up and annual theme parties. Some of my past themed birthday parties include: zombies, roaring 20s, cheesy 80s, masquerade, tv characters, and circus.
This year, I wanted to do VAMPIRES. I actually have been thinking of this theme for a while; but I didn't want people to think I was a crazy Twilight fan (cause I'm not, I swear haha). I think it is such a fun theme, it's easy, and it's TOTALLY HALLOWEEN.
Because my building can be a little strict when it comes to parties , we decided to celebrate at a friend's house (you know her...Gaby from Voguish Diet). For convenience and safety, we headed there in uberX.
I love birthdays...and I absolutely love my birthday! I love having friends over, I love celebrating with my loved ones, I love planning a party...everything!
This year was a little different: I asked my husband to plan it for me...especially because I'm always planning his birthdays. So I knew I was having a party...but I didn't know the theme.
Yes, the theme. Themes are my thing. All my friends know I mean business when I pick a theme. They know we go all out and since it's so close to Halloween (Oct 25th), nobody really complains!
Okay back to Gabe, he planned this whole theme where the party was a circus, I was the ringleader and everyone had to be dressed as animal. I had a blast...I feel so lucky to have the bestest of friends! <3

Amo los cumpleaños...así que se imaginaran como me encanta mi propio cumpleaños. Amo invitar a mis amigos a mi casa, celebrar una vuelta más al sol con mis seres queridos, planificar la fiesta...todo!
Este año fue un poco diferente porque le pedi a mi esposo que la planeara por mi (yo un poco brava porque siempre soy yo la que le planea los cumpleaños a el). Así que para mis 28, sabía de la fiesta pero no sabía del tema.
Si, el tema. Ya llevo más de 8 años con fiesta temáticas. Mis amigos saben que me lo tomo en serio y como cae tan cerca de Halloween, nadie se queja.
Gabo planeo este tema GENIAL de Circo donde yo era la dueña del circo y todo el mundo estaba vestido de animales. No tienen idea lo increíble que la pase. Me sentí tan afortunada de tener los mejores amigos del mundo.

Remember my birthday party last year? I was about ZOMBIES ...and do you remember the year before? It was an 80s party. Yes, as you can see...I absolutely love themed parties and I make all my friends dress up. This year I was so inspired by the Great Gatsby movie that I wanted to do it about the 20s. Also, it was perfect because it was my 25th bday on the 25th and I wanted to party like it was 1925. Even though I knew the theme for months...I didn't get my costume until the day before (totally my fault). I found this fringed dress, a pearl necklace, and a feather. However, Marcos Carrasquillo, celebrity hairstylist and hair genius, helped me with the final touch: my hair...he did such an amazing job (If you ever need a hairstylist in Miami..he's SO amazing). As far as my makeup: I did a smoky eye and a dark lip, which was how they did they makeup back then. ¿Se acuerdan de mi cumpleaños el año pasado? Fue de ¡ZOMBIES!! ... ¿y del antepasado? fue de los años 80s!. Como pueden notar, me encantan las fiestas temáticas y ya mis amigos están acostumbrados a mis ocurrencias. Este año me inspiré en la película de Great Gatsby y quise hacerla de los años 20s. Y me pareció porque cumplí 25, un 25, y quise celebrarlo como si fuese 1925. A pesar de que tenía la idea de la fiesta, no busqué mi disfraz hasta el día anterior... menos mal que encontré este vestido de flecos, unas perlas y la pluma. Pero mi disfraz no hubiese sido el mismo sin mi peinado...el cual fue mi regalo de cumpleaños del estilista de celebridad y genio en cabello: Marcos Carrasquillo. Luego completé mi disfraz con unos ojos ahumados y labial oscuro, como lo usaba en la época. Espero que les gusten las fotos, les dejo abajo los enlaces de las bloggers que me acompañaron!
