HOLIDAY SPARKLE with Nordstrom

Thursday, December 19, 2019

This post is sponsored by Nordstrom and ShopStyle

I love the idea of adding a bit of Holiday sparkle throughout the season- and beyond, because who said sequins are only for the Holidays?

This Holiday season I wanted to add a sequin midi skirt to my wardrobe. Yes, it is a statement piece BUT it is also extremely versatile - and I’m ALL about versatility. I have a feeling that this skirt will come handy year after year. This one is from Halogen, from Nordstrom- it also comes in blue, gold, and black sequins. I actually was super indecisive - especially because the blue one is GORGEOUS.

Since I like mixing dressier items with casual items. I decided to pair the sequin skirt with a gray crop-top sweater from Topshop. It really balances the sparkle of the skirt, it makes the look more comfortable, AND it is still super cute and dressy for any HOLIDAY PARTY.

Then walking around Nordstrom, I saw this gorgeous pink feathered bag and I knew it had to be mine. I’ve worn it twice already and I’ve gotten so many compliments on it. It’s the perfect size to fit exactly what you need, and it works from day to night. I wore it with jeans and it was definitely the perfect touch to a casual look too.

The final stop was the GIFT section at the store. Nordstrom has great holiday gift guides for inspiration on what to get anyone in your life. Here are some last-minute gift ideas:

I was looking for a few things for my cousins and sisters in law. And again, I got distracted with these earrings and headband- they are such perfect gifts I ended up getting them from me lol- don’t blame me! The headband is BaubleBar I love it in black but with my dark hair, the pink one popped better! And these star earrings are EVERYTHING AND MORE!

HOLIDAY OUTFITS AND HOLIDAY SHOPPING with Nordstrom

Thursday, November 28, 2019

This post is sponsored by Nordstrom and ShopStyle

Growing up in Venezuela, we didn’t really celebrate thanksgiving. When I moved to the U.S, it was instantly a Holiday that I liked celebrating because it reminds us to stay thankful, to revisit the year, and remember the good while spending it with family and loved ones.

I married a Puertorican, and they do celebrate Thanksgiving…their own way. The dishes are a bit different, but oh-so yummy. So I’ve learned that I have to be prepared for the most delicious eating. That’s why this dress from Topshop I got at Nordstrom was perfect for the occasion; it is roomy but it is still very cute; family appropriate but young and fun; and easy to layer if you live in colder weather.

Walking by Nordstrom, I had to get this green velvet handbag (similar here) with the chunky chain- it brings the greens in the floral dress and it is also perfect for the Holidays.

Last touches? The HONEY earrings and the fisherman hat.   I think they really bring the whole look together

You all know that I love matching with my little boy, even if we are in the same color palette. He was also very comfortable in his corduroy pants and grey sweater by Tucker + Tate, also from Nordstrom.

Also, did you already get your Holiday shopping done? I still have to buy everyone’s Christmas gifts. Nordstrom has their own curated gift guide section with categories like “Gifts Under $100” or “Gifts For Him”. Here are a few of my ideas for what to get:

FOR YOUR LITTLE ONES

FOR YOUR BEAUTY OBSESSED FRIEND-COUSIN

FOR A GUY IN YOUR LIFE

BUG SHORTS + PINK JACKET - PREGNANCY STYLE

Sunday, April 15, 2018

Dressing a growing belly is no easy task. I always say that if I wasn't a blogger, I would probably be in the same dress or leggings every day of the week. But, it's true, I do feel the pressure of dressing up and inspiring fellow moms-to-be.  I'm not complaining about my belly at all, I just refuse to buy a full new closet. Stay tuned for a "pregnancy style essentials" I'm writing.

My waist has always been the smallest part of my body. I have hips and boobs, and I always tried highlighting my small waist. Because of this, I love wearing high waisted skirts/shorts and dresses with a defined waist. Guest what?  All these pieces stopped fitting FIRST. I've been wearing a lot of my pre-belly shirts, but the bottoms...nope! So in my case, I needed to get a few pieces to continue dressing as ME as possible!

I saw these fun BUG shorts at Asos Maternity at SALE (they currently are $12!!) and I felt like why not!? I wore it very similar to the model on the site without even noticing , the outfit probably stayed in the back of my mind and I have this light pink jacket that felt perfect for it!.

Hope you like the look! XOXO

10 RANDOM THOUGHTS... sweater dress, oversized jacket & sneakers

Sunday, March 25, 2018

We all go through writer's block.

I especially have been very stuck when it comes to writing about trends, how to wear, or why did I wear X or Y? So I'm going to share 10 random things about this month so far and I'd love for you to tell me something!

1. The BABY SHOWER is next week. After getting quotes from a few places, I couldn't believe how expensive everything is in the U.S. I decided to make it a DIY and just have fun with it. I know some things will be far from perfect but I'll be fun because I made them.

2. Gabe's birthday was yesterday (the 24th). He turned 31 and I still amazes me how time flies. We met when he was 19.  He has been working non-stop so we just had lunch with his family and then sang happy birthday with some of our closest friends.

3. We live in a one-bedroom apartment and we were thinking about moving because of the baby- we decided to stay at least until the beginning of 2019.  It's been challenging, a lot of cleaning, selling, donating. But I think we will make it work with the little one.

4. I'm very confused about fashion trends right now. I'm hating the big sneakers everyone is wearing lately.  They remind me of the 2000s sketchers and  they kill every outfit.  But again, that's me! If you love them, have fun with them!

5. I miss traveling. I can't wait to take baby in all these fun adventures. We really don't want to change our lifestyle THAT much. We actually are very excited to bring him along as soon as we can. I see families like Amber FIllerup's and we are very inspired to see little ones who have been to 20 countries before the age of 5.

6. I'm really inspired seeing all these young girls and boys talking about gun regulation and stopping gun violence. It makes me tear up every time and if you follow me on Twitter you probably have seen how passionate I am about this topic.

7. Talking about moving (on #2) I've been thinking about moving to another city lately. I love Miami but I think it would be nice for us to move to another city for a little bit (or a while who knows). I was thinking Dallas just because I loved it when I visited a few years ago, and it has one of the biggest airports so we could go visit our families in a heartbeat.

8. Maybe some of you noticed, I've stopped writing in Spanish. It hurts my soul and I won't stop 100%!! BUT, it was double the work and sometimes I felt I cut myself short because I didn't want to write it twice. I didn't use google translate or anything like that, it was truly writing it again (and the message even differed from time to time).  This doesn't mean I'm not proud of my roots, or that we don't speak it at home. Just career-wise, it felt like the right thing to do in order to share more with you guys.

9.  Our friends Gaby (@VoguishDiet) and Alex (@LegendaryAlex) got a puppy , a maltipoo (a maltese & poodle mix) and he is so adorable. You can follow him at @ItsErniesLife.

10. Talking about puppy accounts. I opened an account for Chiki @ChikitheMalteseDog and I'm so excited to be talking in third person haha such a weird crazy mama!

THE DALI MUSEUM... with "Le BUMP"

Thursday, March 15, 2018

Ok. So the main reason my husband Gabe wanted to go to St. Petersburg was to visit the DalĂ Museum. Not necessarily because he is the biggest Salvador DalĂ fan, but because he really wanted to photograph it (photographer first world problems, I know!).

We got there and it was breathtaking, a little smaller than expected but still BEAUTIFUL. When you get there,  the first floor has a souvenir section and a little cafe. The second floor has the permanent and current exhibits. And finally, there is the garden. It is a must- visit if you go to St. Pete.

My favorite piece was Dali's Lincoln. When you look at it up close, it looks like a naked woman staring at a beautiful sunset. However, if you take your phone out or go back enough, it turns into a portrait of President Lincoln.

About my look: I got these plaid maternity leggings a few months ago at ASOS. I thought they were fun, young, and still comfortable for pregnancy. I want to do a remix with them because I know they look a bit harder to style than they actually are.

I also LOVE the shirt, I wasn't sure if I should get the "preggers" tee or this one that says "Le Bump". I thought this one was cuter, but I still like them both.  Final touch: a pop of red and a cool sunnies!

Have you ever been to this museum? Are you a fan of DalĂ?

YOU MAKE ME MELT!

A little bit Sporty , A little bit pink... #NordyGirl

Monday, March 27, 2017

This  is one of those looks where the accessories are everything...the little details are what make the look!

It is probably one of those combos I go for when I have to get dressed in 5 minutes. Leather shorts and some sort of black top work for any occasion.  This time went for a look that's a little bit sporty...a little bit pink!

I've been eyeing the floral guitar straps for a while, so I finally headed to Nordstrom- one of my favorite stores because I find it all...from the amazing designer bags I invest once in a while to quality accessories at a great price. The strap adds a casual element to any of your bags, it is a great way to update a classic bag without spending a lot of money.

I'm loving the mix of girly elements like the  Rebecca Minkoff Floral Guitar Strap with the  suede baseball cap. I used to have a cool baseball cap a few years ago that a friend borrowed (and well never return). I found this cooler suede version for $20.. score!

During my little accessory shopping spree I also found these aviators. If you have followed me for a while, you know I have a weakness for round sunglasses.  But I'm trying to play with other styles, and these aviators with a pink reflection are absolutely GORGEOUS! Finally, I saw these pom pom earrings from Baublebar and these are perfect for daytime AND nighttime!

Are you loving guitar straps? What's your favorite sunglass style? Are you into pom pom earrings? Let me know in the comments!!
