I think over the years I've been blogging, it has been pretty obvious that I love a good pair of black booties. And if you are new here (first of all WELCOME!), if you go back a few posts and you will see me wearing ankle boots so often!!
So I'm always in the look for a perfect pair that I know I will continue wearing throughout the years. Then I noticed that one of the main reasons I was messing up my boots was because they were not meant for the constant Miami rain. Yes, Florida is the sunshine state but it will surprise many people how often it rains here.
So the search for the perfect waterproof boot started. I didn't want them to look like rain boots either. And of course, I wanted them to be comfortable.
I headed to Zappos.com since it is one of my favorite sites because of its range of styles, outstanding service, and fast and free shipping. After a quick search, these Dansko boots, Becki, were like the perfect fit. Dansko is known for its high quality, undeniable comfort, and premium craftsmanship. I ordered them one night, and I got them the afternoon of the next day- Zappos fast shipping continues to surprise me!
They are perfectly versatile boots, I know that I can wear them with everything while also being prepared to the unpredictable Miami weather- and if you don't live in South Florida, they definitely work for the Fall/Winter and the Spring showers. They also come in a taupe color that is super cute!
I remember reading a fashion on quote that you should never wear more than two trends at once. But like I always say, rules are meant to be broken- there is always a way to break them.
And the easiest way to break this rule is to keep the colors and prints toned down. As you can see, this is only black and white. If the overalls were floral, the fishnets of color, a bright hat..it would have been too much.
Today I want to start answering little questions that I always get.

WHERE DO YOU FIND YOUR STYLE INSPIRATION?
Everywhere! I have a little folder in my computer where I save pictures I like. It can be while I was browsing an online store and loved how they styled a certain item.
I also use the save button on IG a lot (you can also do collections there, which is very helpful).
I love following bloggers with very different styles, that keeps me out of my comfort zone and makes me want to try fun trends. In another post, I'll share my favorite bloggers.
I love Pinterest for specific things. I have a few boards like Blogger Style, Celebrity Style, Travel, flat-latys, etc.
Polyvore when I need extra inspiration on how to style an item. I put a similar item and I see the sets people have done with them, very useful!

Una vez leà una frase que nunca deberÃas usar más de dos tendencias a la vez. Pero como siempre les digo, las reglas están hechas para romperse- especialmente en la moda.
Esta regla es fácil de romper cuando mantienes los colores y los estampados sencillos. Como pueden ver acá, todo es blanco y negro. Si fuese todo colorinche y llamativo, fuese DEMASIADO.
Quiero empezar a responderles las preguntas que siempre me hacen (y si tienen alguna otra, déjenla abajo!).
Empecemos con:
¿En quién o qué te inspiras cuando se trata de estilo personal?
¡De todos lados! En la computadora tengo una carpeta llamada "insto" donde guardo todas las fotos que me gusten o me inspiren de alguna manera. Tal vez cuando estoy en una tienda y me gusta el estilismo. O en una página de chismes y veo un look cool de alguna celebridad.
También he estado usando mucho el botón de guardar en IG (no he usado lo de las colecciones, pero suena interesante...muy Pinterest).
Amo seguir a bloggers con diferentes estilos al mio. Eso me mantiene fuera de mi zona de comfort y me inspira a tratar tendencias de una manera distinta. En otro post les hablaré de mis bloggers favoritas actualmente .
Por supuesto Pinterest para cositas especÃficas que puedo anotar en el buscador. Polyvore me gusta para buscar piezas y como las han combinado otras personas (me ayuda en esos dÃas que me siento como estancada).
Ahora les toca a ustedes contarme quien y como se inspiran.

When I started blogging, I wouldn't wear jeans at all. Maybe you guys even remember me saying that it was like a challenge.
Looking back, I know what it was. Jeans are a comfort zone. It's very easy to wear a jeans and a tee and get out the door. I'm glad I stopped wearing them for a few years because it made me think outside the box and play with different trends and styles.
However, jeans nowadays are nothing but fun. Come on, look at these lace-up! I got them at Forever 21 for $34.90, they also have a legging version for $20. I personally just feel a lot more comfortable in jeans (I still say it out loud people, LEGGINGS ARE NOT PANTS). I'm going to link more options below, the side lace-up is GORGEOUS too.
I have a few outfit ideas on how to wear these jeans but I was heading to a blogger- where Gabe was talking about photography. So I felt like just doing a simple white tee and sneakers (I later up changed to these amazing boots)
Final trendy touch? Clear aviators!! Love them! I got them in clear and yellow since the price was so great!

Cuando empecé a blogger, creo que NUNCA me vieron con jeans. Estaba hasta en mi preguntas frecuentes, ¿por qué no usas jeans?
Las cosas han cambiado, pero en ese momento querÃa salir de mi zona de confort y no me arrepiento porque eso me obligó a utilizar diferentes tendencias y jugar con distintos estilos.
Aparte, los jeans de hoy en dá están más divertidos que nunca. ¡¡Y estos jeans trenzados son la prueba!! Los conseguà en Forever 21 por $35, también tienen una versión en leggings for $20. A mi personalmente me gustan más los jeans, me siento más cómoda y son más versátiles. Repitan conmigo "Los leggings no son pantalones!". Abajo les voy a dejar varias opciones, hay unos con la parte trenzada de lado que son hermosos también.
Tengo varias ideas en mente pero ese dÃa quise usarlo de la manera más básica: con una camiseta blanca. Ibamos a un panel donde Gabo iba a hablar de fotografÃa. Originalmente tenÃa unos sneakers (ya que el panel era por el dÃa) pero luego me cambié a estos tacones.
¿Toque trendy final? Estos aviadores transparentes. No me resistà y ya que estaban a buen precio, compré los amarillos también.

Before people get confused, let me quickly explain this: I'm from Venezuela but currently my parents and older brother are living in Ecuador. I also have a couple of cousins there.
Every year we used to meet in Merida (a gorgeous city in the mountains). This year we met in Cuenca...which actually reminded me a lot of Mérida because of the weather and scenery. We rented a house and it was 13 of us staying together- it was basically a weekend of playing cards, volleyball...I was bonding with my niece and nephew. It was really fun.

Siento que tengo que hacer una pequeña aclaratoria, porque me han llegado preguntas sobre si soy de Ecuador ya que hemos estado viajando para allá últimamente. Mi papá está allá , mi hermano también, y un par de primos...por eso vamos, para visitar a la familia.
Cada año nos solámos reunir en una ciudad de Venezuela que se llama Mérida- de donde es mi familia paterna. Este año nos reunimos un grupito en Cuenca...que por cierto se parece mucho a Mérida por su clima y sus paisajes de montaña. Alquilamos una casa donde nos quedamos todos y fueron unos dÃas de jugar cartas, volleyball, compartir...y bueno yo estuve mayormente con mis sobrinos- aprovechandolos.

As soon as I saw this skirt, I knew I had to have it (one of those "I didn't know I needed you until I saw you- you know what I'm talking about!!). Wearing such a statement piece can be hard, you don't want to overwhelm your outfit
I have many ideas on how to wear this skirt. This time I paired it with basics that must be in everyone's wardrobe : a white tee, a leather jacket, ankle booties, and cat eye sunglasses.
But what about accessories? Again, you don't want to overwhelm your look with over-the-top accessories. Instead of a statement necklace or earrings, go for delicate pieces. I added two tiny of the classic TOUS bears to my earring layering (not sure, if that's a thing, but I'm going to call it that!). I also added three bracelets from the Icon Mesh collection, I love how they are all different metallics...so yes, don't be afraid to mix and match gold, silver, and gold rose!!
Final touch? This GORGEOUS Tous backpack; it has leather, it has suede, it has mesh details...perfect Holiday gift too!!

Me han estado pidiendo ideas de looks decembrinos y aquà les traigo uno que les gusto mucho en Instagram.
Apenas vi esta falda supe que tenÃa que ser mÃa (si, si...de esas cosas que no sabes que "necesitabas" - ustedes saben a lo que me refiero! Pero usar una pieza asà de llamativa puede ser complicado- no quieres que tu look se vea pesado o exagerado.
Tengo varias ideas de como usar esta falda- asà que prepárense que la verán más. Pero esta vez opté por básicos (de esos que no pueden faltar en tu guardarropa): una camiseta blanca, una chaqueta de cuero, botines negros y lentes de sol estilo gato.
Pero hablemos de accesorios. Como les dije, no quieres que tu look se ve muy cargado cuando se trata de accesorios. En vez de usar un collar grande o aretes largos, busca piezas más delicadas. Yo tengo 4 huesitos en una oreja, y agregué dos pequeños ositos de TOUS y me encantó el resultado. También añadà 3 pulseras de la famosa colección Icon Mesh, me encanta como las 3 son de diferentes tonos: dorada, plateada, y oro rosa- asà que ya saben, no tengan miedo de mezclarlos.
¿Toque final? Este hermoso bultito de TOUS- tiene cuero, gamuza, el detalle de malla- perfecto para un regalito navideño también.

As soon as I saw this dark floral dress, I knew it had to be mine! I feel there is a misconception that florals are only for spring and summer…and I’m all about breaking “the rules!” Make it work for a festive day outfit by wearing it with ankle booties, a hat, and a plum lipstick! Because of the girly bohemian vibe, this dress can also transition from day to night by adding a leather jacket and switching your boots to heels. And when the holiday season is over and you are ready for spring, you can pair it with a denim jacket!
Let’s talk about my night look…great for an evening party this holiday! Velvet always comes back for the holidays; but this year, this romantic and luxurious texture is back stronger than ever. Dare to wear this fabric in a dress (I’m obsessed with this velvet dress) or a blazer like the one I’m wearing. A velvet blazer is also perfect for a holiday work party! However, I went for a flirty metallic dress and over-the-knee boots! Over-the-knee boots are a must have for the colder months, even if you live in not-so-cold weather! They are sexy, fun, they go with everything (jeans, skirts, dresses), and work from day to night. For versatility, look for ones like these since they have a chunkier heel.

Let me introduce you to my current wardrobe obsession: this awesome suede jacket I got via Stitch Fix.
I've been wearing it non-stop since I got it...with this white romper, a plaid dress, jeans, etc. It's such a cool & versatile piece.
Stitch Fix is an online shopping service where a personal stylists gives you options based on your style, body type, needs, etc. You tell them everything..and they do the shopping for you. I loved all the pieces I got but this one was definitely my favorite.
I wore this to a panel during Hispanicize 16'- a hispanic conference that also had an influencer summit called Dime and I spoke on an IG panel...it was definitely fun!

Les presento a mi nueva obsesión....esta chaqueta de gamuza que compré con el servicio de Stitch Fix.
Esta chaqueta la he estado usando sin parar...con este romper blanco, vestido de rayas, vestido de cuadros...y más. Es una pieza extremadamente versátil!
Stitch Fix es un servicio de compras por internet donde una estilista te da opciones dependiendo de tu estilo, tipo de cuerpo, necesidades, etc. Tu les cuentas de tu estilo de vida, tus estampados favortios etc, y ellos escogen piezas para ti. Yo quede encantada con todas las piezas...pero esta fue mi favorita.
Esto lo utilicé en el panel donde hable durante la conferencia HIspanicize...super divertido!

And Chicago said Good-Bye to us with a gorgeous snow fall. This was just right before heading to the airport, but we had to stop (right in front of the hotel) and take pictures. I didn't see snow until I was 15...and every time I see it, it's just so magical.
The only downside to these pictures was that, since we were about to leave, I wasn't wearing any thermal underwear or tons of layers. I don't think you can tell how cold I was from these pics haha.

Chicago nos despidió con una nevada hermosisima. Estas fotos fueron justo antes de irnos al aeropuerto, pero tenÃamos que aprovechar y tomar unas fotitos en la nieva. Como les he contado, la primera vez que vi la nieve fue a mis 15 años. Y sigue siendo muy mágico cada vez que la veo.
Les cuento que como fue antes de salir del aeropuerto, solo tenÃa estas capas (nada de forro polar ni 3 suéteres debajo). Creo que disimulé muy bien el frÃo que tenÃa jaja.

Let's start with the pictures from Austin, TEXAS!!
This week we went to Texas with Chevrolet for a fun opportunity where we basically just had to explore the hidden gems of the city. One of my favorite places was this one, the Cathedral of Junk.
This construction is hidden behind a house in a normal neighborhood, you can't even tell it's there! The owner, Vince Hangman started building it in 1988 (best year of course, because of my birth date) and he says that it doesn't have a special meaning...he just loves it! It reminded me of a treehouse/clubhouse for kids. It has so many cool details and it's fully made of "junk".

¡¡Empecemos con las fotos de Austin, TEXAS!!!
Esta semana estuvimos en Austin explorando la ciudad junto a Chevrolet...fue divertÃdisimo y fuimos a lugares muy cheveres como esta Catedral de Basura!!
Esta "Catedral" queda en una urbanización normal y corriente...en la casa del dueño, Vince Hanneman. Vince comenzó a construir esta obra de arte en 1988 (el mejor año, por supuesto jajaj) y dice que no tiene ningún significado especial...solo le gusta. A mi me recordó como a una casa de árbol de niño, tiene tantos detalles divertidos y esta toda hecha de basura.

I think this is finally the last look from our trip to California. I wore this during our last day there when we drove from San Diego to los Angeles. We made several stops along the way- a pier, a beach...we ate an Argentinian restaurant (a delicious burger) and then we changed to head to the airport. While we were there, there was a heat wave...and this was the less hot day- perfect for this long sleeve dress. I added the fringe vest to make it more boho. Creo que este es el último look que tengo por compartir de California. Esto lo utilicé en nuestro último dÃa allá...ese dÃa manejamos desde San Diego hasta Los Angeles e hicimos varias paradas en el camino. Ese dÃa fue uno de los más frescos y este vestido manga larga fue perfecto....para hacerlo más boho, agregué este chaleco de Express y mis lentes redondos. Ese dÃa paramos en varias palmitas y un muelle...también comimos en un restaurante fusión Argentino-Californiano. ¡Todo espectacular! ¡Besos!!
I been loving edgier styles lately…but dressing edgy is a little hard when 90% of your closet is very feminine (don't get my wrong, I like my girly pieces..I'm just not feeling it lately). While talking these pics, I felt like myself..100% me- so get ready Edgy many is coming through haha. I've also been feeling a little down because I feel like the engagement of you guys is not the same. I miss your comments on social and in here. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but I would love to hear your suggestions on how I can make the blog better.

Llevo tiempo queriendo vestirme más y más edgy…lo cual no es fácil cuando tienes un closet de toda la vida lleno de ropa femenina (no me malinterpreten, hay dÃas en que me encanta vestirme súper coqueta). Pero si les soy 100% honesta, tomando estas fotos me sentÃa 100% YO. También me he estado sintiendo un poquito desmotivada porque siento que mi trabajo no les gusta tanto como antes. Soy toda oÃdos, dÃganme que quieren ver…¿que puedo hacer mejor? ¿hay alguna sección que quieren que retome? De verdad quiero que me digan sus sugerencias!
