9 WAYS TO GET YOUR DAILY ME-TIME

We live in such a fast-paced world that we easily forget to give ourselves “ME-TIME”. Reason why I’m excited to team up with Dove today to talk to you about  easy ways you can incorporate “me-time” every day.  You should never feel guilty or feel like you are wasting your time when you are pampering yourself. Having time for yourself it’s important for your health and well-being, it improves creativity,  and it keeps stress levels down.



1) Take a long (or short) bath

A shower or bath is the perfect time to just relax. If you have the time, fill up your tub, put some aromatic candles and just relax for 15 minutes (you can read, meditate, or just clear your mind for a second).. But even if you have just 5 quick minutes, pamper your skin and disconnect for a second.

I’ve been using Dove Body Washes for years, and I was very excited to try out their new SHOWER FOAM. It is the first foaming body wash from Dove.  So let me tell you a little bit about my "testifoamial".  My skin is normal-to-dry, but I am super lazy when it comes to adding that needed step of lotion after the shower (plus we are always running around, and having that 2x1 is a must to have extra minutes for yourself). 2) Indulge in something sweet
I’m not saying your should eat a full pint of ice-cream…but if you are, don’t feel guilty! Enjoy every bite of it. I like indulging in a little piece of dark chocolate…especially if it’s Venezuelan chocolate!


3) Read a book
Turn off your cellphone, head to your comfy spot, just disconnect, and head to “another world”. I absolutely books that take me somewhere else (maybe that’s why my love for reading started with Harry Potter!). Also, I love books that inspire me professionally- like Big Magic!


4) Meditation
Ok, this one is hard but so worth it. Nowadays, there are so many apps you can download and choose the duration of the mediation: 3 minutes, 5 minutes, or 15 minutes. 

5) Buy flowers for yourself
Flowers brighten up a room and your mood. I love the whole process of buying flowers for myself; picking them, mixing them up for a fun arrangement, and then seeing them change the mood of my place.

6) Listen to music
We all listen to music while doing other tasks, like exercising, cleaning, or working. But again, make it simple: put your headphones in, hit play and just enjoy the moment.

7) The power of makeup.
I feel comfortable without makeup but I enjoy the complete process of doing my makeup. Instead of making it a stressful task because you are always in a hurry, enjoy it! You can put music, or a Youtube tutorial before going out. Make it relaxing, make it your “me-time”…and the confidence boost of a bold lip also helps!

8) Shop the little details
You don’t have to go all out on a shopping spree to feel like you are “pampering yourself”, Maybe get the statement earrings you saw while walking through a local market…or a pair of cute lingerie that’ll make you feel like you can conquer the world.

9) Exercise
Find an exercise you love and make it part of your lifestyle. Your body and your mind will thank you!
