My mom is the youngest of 9 siblings (and out of those 9, 6 are girls!)...so she has shared with me tons of beauty and skincare secrets she learned from her mom, from her big sisters, and well...over time. As soon as I started wearing makeup at 14, she said "NEVER, ever ever, go to sleep with your makeup on"...and I can proudly say that I've slept with makeup on just a few times in almost 13 years. I like using Wet Cleansing Towelettes, I keep them in my night stand and the Pond's towelettes remove my makeup so easily...that there are no excuses.
She also says that the early you start taking care of your skin, the better. If you start using a cream to prevent wrinkles when you already have them...well, it's a little late. She actually started taking care of her skin religiously after 30 and she says she regrets not starting earlier like one of my aunts(and my aunt looks SO SO amazingly at 63!). To start preventing wrinkles, I like the POND'S Rejuveness- it deeply moisturizes my skin (which is also very dry, even in the extreme Miami humidity). A small amount goes a long way; the texture is very nice and it absorbs into the skin quickly (making it light enough to use before foundation during the day!). My mom also always reminds me not to forget my neck when moisturizing. I feel like a lot of women use amazing creams on their face but they forget to apply it on the neck...and age can easily show on the neck (and hands!). Talking about hands, after applying your moisturizer to your face...take the excess and rub it on your hands! She would also use aloe vera on anything...scars, acne...and it really works wonders.

Mi mamá tiene 9 hermanos (y de 9, ¡¡6 son mujeres!!)...por lo que siempre ha compartido conmigo muchos trucos de belleza y cuidado de la piel que aprendió de su mamá, hermanas mayores...y bueno, con el tiempo. Apenas empecé a usar maquillaje a los 14 años, mi mamá me repitió la importancia de NUNCA pero NUNCA dormir con maquillaje. Y con mucho orgullo, puedo decir que solo he dormido con maquillaje un par de veces en casi 13 años. Mi manera favorita de remover el maquillaje es usando toallas húmedas- las cuales siempre tengo en mi mesita de noche. Me gustan muchos las de Pond's porque me remueven el maquillaje tan fácil...que no hay excusas.
También dice que es mejor prevenir que lamentar. Si empiezas a usar remitas anti-arrugas cuando ya tienes muchas arrugas, es más complicada. Ella admite que le hubiese gustado empezar a cuidar su piel antes de los 30, que fue cuando se puso seria con el cuidado de la piel. Tengo una tía que se cuidaba muchísimo desde muy joven y a sus 63 años se ve más regia que muchas mujeres de 43. Para empezar a prevenir las arrugas, me gusta la crema POND'S Rejuveness: hidrata perfectamente mi piel (la cual es muy seca hasta en la humedad extrema de Miami). Solo tienes que aplicar un poco; y la piel la absorbe rápido...así que puedes usarla debajo de tu maquillaje sin problema durante el día. Mi mamá también dice que no podemos olvidarnos del cuello; muchas mujeres se cuidan muchísimo la cara pero no aplican nada al cuello... y luego tienen una cara perfecta con cuello arrugado. Dicen que uno puede saber la edad de una mujer con mirarle las manos y el cuello..por esto, después de aplicarla en la cara y cuello, frotarte las manos con el exceso que te quedó.

The first thing we did after our trip to California...host a brunch for St Germain (maybe you saw some pics on my IG @nanysklozet). It really was a blast and it truly embodied the #VIveTheDayLife motto of enjoying every moment...and well, my friends are just the best. We were "brunching" for about 7 hours. There was a TON of food but after eating once, twice, or even three times...it was all gone. Since it was a brunch with my closest friends, I went for a casual look in this off-the-shoulder striped romper and camel/gold accessories. Apenas llegamos de nuestro viaje en California, fui la anfitriona de un brunch para St Germain (tal vez vieron algunas fotitos en mi IG @nanysklozet). De verdad que la pasamos ESPECTACULAR...creo que lo he dicho pero siempre hay que agradecer estas cosas....mis amigos son lo mejores. Estuvimos de "brunch" como 7 horas- definitivamente el brunch más largo en el que habíamos estado. Eramos un grupo de 10 y por un momento pensé que había demasiada comida...pero como comimos varias veces durante tantas horas. 1. Did you see the Super Blood moon? Honestly, in Miami I barely saw anything. I was a little disappointed but I know it has to do with city lights and pollution.
2. I have to admit that I thought I was going to love Los Angeles more than I did. My favorite city of the ones we visited in California was San Diego- it was exactly was I pictured when people talked about California Living.
3. Our trip to Cali happened mainly because Gaby was shooting a friend's wedding and we decided to stay longer to see as much as we could.
4. I recently started watching the TV series Fringe (which aired for 5 seasons and I had no idea it even existed) But it's fun, you all know I love conspiracy theories and stuff and that one is crazy with aliens, alternate universes, and crazy scientific stuff.
5. My bday is around the corner! I'm so excited. I'm definitely doing a themed party. Last year I didn't do anything because I was to stressed out with grad-school and the wedding.

¡Hula hula! ¿Se acuerdan de las 5 cosas random de los domingo? Pues ..¿será que lo hacemos otra vez? Aquí vamos:
1. ¿Vieron la luna roja? Aquí en Miami no se vio mucho...debe ser por las luces de la ciudad y por la contaminación :(.
2. Honestamente no me gustó mucho Los Angeles, siento que tengo que regresar y que una persona criada allá nos llevé a todos los lugares. Mi lugar favorito fue San Diego..fue exactamente lo que me imaginaba cuando hablan de la vida californiana.
3. Nuestro viaje a California fue principalmente por la boda de una amiga (en la que gaby era el fotógrafo), pero quisimos aprovechar e ir unos días extra para disfrutar al máximo.
4. Empecé a ver la serie Fringe ( de la misma gente de Lost) y por ahora me encanta...un poco loca pero entretenida si eres como yo y te encantan esos temas de conspiraciones, otros universos, aliens, etc.
5. ¡Ya casi es mi cumpleaños!! no puedo creer que falta menos de un mes, este año paso volando!!

Happy FRIDAY!! Okay, so here are MORE pics from our trip to California (I'm really don't following the day by the day....so bear with me!). This was during our second day in Cali- we thought the weather was going to be nicer but apparently we were there for one of the hottest weeks of 2015. I even had some knee socks on which ended up inside my bag within minutes we stepped out of the car!
We headed to the Santa Monica Pier..we have heard so much about it that we couldn't wait to see it! At the end of the pier, there's a Ferris Wheel, a roller coaster, games, etc. I was so excited to get on the Ferris Wheel...because I honestly think it was my first time on one. I asked my mom and she doesn't remember either haha (well, maybe I did as a child and I have no clue). The view from the Ferris Wheel was so gorgeous...and I have the pictures below to prove it <3.

¡FELIZ VIERNES! Y sigo con fotitos de nuestro viaje a California. Este día nos aventuramos al muelle de Santa Monica...y de verdad que nos gustó mucho. El único problema fue que pensabamos que iba a estar mucho más fresco y casi nos derretimos de calor...pero no éramos los únicos, todo el mundo estaba con un calorón!! Yo iba preparada a que iba a estar más fresco que en Miami que hasta tenía puestas unas medias a la rodilla que me tuve que quitar, obviamente.
Al llegar al final del muelle, hay un pequeño parque de diversiones con una rueda de la fortuna...y ¡nos montamos! Yo no me acuerdo haberme montado en una...le pregunté a mi mamá y ella tampoco se acuerda. Yo siempre he sido de montañas rusas pero no se porque no me había montado en una. La vista desde la rueda era espectacular...de verdad que fue una experiencia muy linda.

It's no secret that my all-year-favorite-trend has been "fringe"...I've worn this trend in basically every piece. I love that fringe can go either dressy or super boho chic. This look is definitely for the night time...which I do not tend to do much because I'm not really a party girl. However, I wore this on Monday...yes Monday, for the launch party of a champagne brand here in Miami.
I really like the movement of this skirt...perfect for dancing! This time I paired it with a simple black top (it has a cool open back but it really is a basic top that you can wear even to the gym with your leggings...however, with the skirt, it looks dressy). Final touch? Definitely my blue hair...which looks even brighter in an all black assemble.

No es secreto que mi tendencia favorita este año han sido los flecos...los he usado básicamente en todo. Me gusta mucho que la onda de los flecos puede verse elegante o bohemia. Este look es más de noche...de los que suelo hacer muy poco porque no soy la persona más fiestera. Pero esto fue lo que utilicé el lunes pasado, si un lunes, para el lanzamiento de una champagna en Miami.
El movimiento de esta falda es perfecto para ir a bailar. En esta ocasión la combiné con un top sencillo negro- de esos que puedes usar hasta para ir al gimnasio o con jeans para ir al super...pero todo junto parece un vestido. Y bueno el toque final? mi cabello MEGA azul que resalta aún más con todo negro.

During our trip to Palm Springs, we headed with the bride and her bridal party to "Salvation Mountain". This unique place is almost two hours away from Palm Springs...I don't think I have ever seen this place, I didn't know what to expect and it was INCREDIBLE!
As far as my witchy/extra boho look...well, there was something about knowing I was going to be at the desert that made me pack extra bohemian. I LOVE LOVE this dress and all its little details: the crochet on the stomach, the bare back, the lace panels on the legs, more crochet on the sleeves...so pretty <3

En uno de nuestros días en Palm Springs, fuimos a "Salvation Mountain"- que queda como a una hora y media más allá de Palm Springs. Esta montaña fue totalmente pintada por un señor por décadas y tiene versos de la biblia escritos por todos lados. Yo no tenía ni idea que este lugar existía..y para mi fue ESPECTACULAR ya que no sabía ni que esperarme.
Para este viaje guardé mis vestidos más bohemios...a fin de cuentas no hay nada más bohemio que looks en el desierto! Este vestido me encantó, tiene muchos detalles interesantes: el crochet en la barriga, los paneles de encaje en las piernas, la espalda al descubierto, más crochet en las mangas...hermoso <3

The campaign included 10 influential girls from different backgrounds, body-types, and style stories..and it was such an honor to be part of that group! I love that JC Penney, is dedicated to fitting and empowering all women with high quality products at an affordable price!
When I started my blog I did it because I wanted to learn about fashion while sharing while I've learned in the form of a blog. I would spend hours and hours reading magazines, fashion books, blogs, and websites to educate myself about trends, body shapes, etc. One of the things I always say is that your style is your business card, it's the first thing people see when they see you. Your clothes should express who you are...who you feel...who you want to be. But that is not all, fashion is just a layer of who you are- it's not the dress you are wearing, it's what you are doing with that fabulous dress. I feel like the best way to go after your dreams is not only passion...it also involves knowledge about that industry. That's why it was very important to be to go back to school and study Fashion merchandising and then a Masters in Design and Media Management.

Pero también he dicho que eso no lo es todo, que lo que tu ropa no te define...que tu eres mucho más que lo que usas. Por eso para mi fue muy importante estudiar Mercadeo de Moda, el curso de maquillaje, y luego el postgrado. La manera de lograr tus sueños es parte dedicación y pasión...pero tiene que ver mucho con talento y educación.. y verte bella y a la moda es solo alguito extra.

Hey hey! I know I said I was going to keep things as organized as possible...but I don't want to bore you with all the Culebra pics at the same time. And at the same time, I feel like I wore different versions of this look throughout the trip...every time I was on a plane! The variations involved my "Blog Your Dreams" and "Adventure with me" tee (which are always appropriate when traveling), my other plaid shirt, and a black jean. For me it's very important to wear comfortable bottoms when traveling like these Runway leggings (I'm one of those that sleep on a plane like a contortionist!). I also like having an extra layer around the waist just in case it gets too cold on the plane. I changed to this outfit by the end of our California road trip. We drove from San Diego to Los Angeles (which is a short 2 hour drive, but we stopped several times to see different towns along the way. Our flight was at midnight so we had time to enjoy as much as possible. This pictures are by "Ranchos Palos Verdes" <3 Have an amazing week! XOXO

¡Hola! ¡Hola! Dije que iba a organizarme y compartir lo más en orden posible...pero use muchas versiones de este look en nuestro viaje porque se puede decir que este fue mi outfit de aeropuerto (las variaciones tenían la camisa de "Blog Your Dreams" y "Adventure with me"; mis otras camisas de cuadros y un jean negro!). Para mi es importantísimo viajar en pantalones cómodos como estos Runway leggings porque yo soy semi contorsionista en el avión (aparte que mi mini-tamaño ayuda y así puedo dormir lo más cómoda posible). También me gusta llevar la camisa en la cintura en dado caso que haga mucho frío en el avión. Esto lo utilicé en nuestro último día en California ya que agarramos el Red Eye (el vuelo que sale en la madrugada para llegar en la mañanita a Miami) así que pudimos aprovechar al máximo. Salimos de San Diego al mediodía y subimos por la costa hasta Los Angeles, pero parando en diferentes pueblitos. Estas fueron casi al atardecer por "Ranchos Palos Verdes". ¡Feliz semana!!
The second day in Culebra, we headed to Culebrita (like little snake, yes)...which as you can see, it is SO beautiful. Even though, I tend to "fight' with all my puerto rican friends that Los Roques in Venezuela is 1000 better (hey, google Los Roques, Venezuela...and tell me if you do not want to get a ticket NOW!). But yes, both are gorgeous <3
This day I was in charge of making breakfast, so I did one of the few things I actually know how to cook...venezuelan arepas for 10 people (which were 7 puerto ricans, an American, and a Ecuadorian). I ended up doing like 20 arepas, way more than I have ever done. I also brought tons of flash tattoos for the trip and all the girls and I played arts and crafts and put tons of them on...well, I made the guys get at least one too. So here are tons of more pics from day #2!!

El segundo día fuimos a Culebrita...una playita espectacular de Culebra. Yo siempre "peleo" con los boricuas porque digo que Los Roques en Venezuela es mucho más espectacular que Culebra... ambos son espectaculares pero para mi, Los Roques siempre va a ser tener las playas más bellas del mundo.
Este día fui yo la encargada de hacer desayuno, hice arepas para 10 personas- ¡¡y obviamente más arepas de lo que nunca había hecho!! Y antes de salir, todas las mujeres nos pusimos muchísimos tatuajes metálicos... y yo obligué a los hombres a ponerse algunos (tal vez ven el de Gaby al costado!). Okay, it's time to start getting back on track and share the tons of pics I have from our crazy trip. Well, you guys already saw some from Puerto Rico (and some from California...I've been a little all over the place...just to clarify, I'm in Miami right now haha) I already shared some pics from "Viejo San Juan)" and from Cabo Rojo- both in PR. But after a week with Gaby's family in Puerto Rico, we headed to a small island on the east side called Culebra with out closest Miami friends. I cannot even explain how amazing this trip was, we went there in 2013 (check out all post from Culebra 2013 here) and Gaby went again for his Bachelor weekend last year. But this time, there was something different...maybe we have gotten closer over the years...maybe the group was even better than last time. I honestly even had withdrawals, I missed them so much when we left.
The first day was a little crazy, with a lot of traveling, picking friends from the airport, going grocery shopping, heading to the marina, and finally leaving to the island. Culebra is an hour away from Fajardo, a city on the east side of Puerto Rico. We stopped at "Cayo Luis Peña" which is SO SO gorgeous...just look at that water! We jumped, had a lot of fun...the pictures are a mini-summary! Hope you enjoy them!

Okay es hora de empezar a ponerme al día con todas las fotos que tomamos durante nuestro mega viaje. Ya vieron las primera de Puerto Rico, mis favoritas fueron las de San Juan (y otras más también el Viejo San Juan) y las de Cabo Rojo. Ahora seguimos con las de Culebra, Puerto Rico. Si me siguen desde hace mucho tiempo, puede que recuerden el viaje que hicimos con nuestros amigos en el 2013. Esta vez fue aún más increíble, no se si es porque fuimos como amigos nos hemos unidos más aún con el pasar de los años. Pero les juro que cuando se acabo el viaje, me sentía como cuando era chiquita y regresaba a mi casa del campamento (y extrañaba a todos mis amiguitos).
El primer día fue un maratón, de casa de Gabo salimos a la casa de nuestros amigos...de ahí al aeropuerto a buscar a otros que acababan de llegar de Miami y de ahí a otra ciudad, Fajardo, a una hora de San Juan pero primero parando a hacer mercado para nuestros 4 días en Culebra. Y finalmente nos fuimos a la marina y arrancamos a Culebra (la cual es una isla a unos 50 minutos de Fajardo- el lado este de Puerto Rico). Antes de llegar a la casa donde nos quedamos, paramos en un cayo llamado Luis Peña, hermoso HERMOSO, donde pasamos toda la tarde. Last year I had a fun pink ombré- which I LOVED. However, my wedding approached faster than I expected and I wanted to have my natural hair color for a timeless feel in the pictures. This year, at the beginning of the summer, I went back to my hair stylist to go way lighter… the goal: start playing with fun colors!

A couple of years ago I realized I’m definitely a “bag-type-of-girl”. For me, a handbag is that last final touch that makes the look. You can definitely know a woman’s personality just by looking at the handbag she carries. I personally love a handbag that can easily transition from day to night. Paired with this gorgeous DVF jumpsuit, I can wear the #DVFSecretAgent as a crossbody during the day and they as a clutch for a date night.

Hace un par de años me di cuenta que aunque pensaba que AMABA los zapatos, me gustaban más las carteras. Para mi, la cartera o bolso da ese toque final al outfit. Uno puede saber la personalidad de una mujer con solo ver que tipo de cartera lleva. Personalmente me encantan aquellas carteras que pueden hacen hacer la transición del día a la noche fácilmente. Combinada con esta braga de DVF, puedo usar la cartera Secret Agente al hombro durante el día y luego como clutch para una cita.
This past weekend we were in PALM SPRINGS!! Gabe was shooting a wedding....he rarely shoots weddings, but Kar Gar (from Kar Gar Ohh Snapp) asked him and he was more than honored (she is amazing photographer!!). We headed to Palm Springs in the morning, but we stopped several times because the backdrops were so gorgeous! We got as close to the windmills as we could...it's so amazing to see hundreds and hundreds of windmills lined up! Since it was so hot (over 100 degrees Fahrenheit), I went for a light dress with a cool lace-up necklace and some bell sleeves! I have so many pictures lined up from San Juan, Culebra, LA, Palm Springs, and San Diego...I can't wait to share them all!! It has been a hectic, but incredible, month!
I also want to thank Kia for letting me borrow a Kia Sorrento 2016...I've had the same car for almost 10 years and this car is making me want to get rid of mine. It has the coolest features...from a 360 camera to park perfectly (which I do need...I start to sweat everything I have to parallel park) to connecting your phone's Pandora directly to the car. It has been the perfect car for our little road trips! Thanks again Kia!

Este fin de semana estuvimos en PALM SPRINGS! Gabo le estaba tomando fotos a la boda de una amiga (que también es blogger y fotógrafa..Kar Gar Ohh Snap). Para el fue un honor, porque Karla toma fotos de bodas y que lo haya escogido a el para este día tan especial fue WOW. El estilo de Karla es todo bohemio...por lo que una boda en el desierto fue el lugar perfecto. De Los Angeles nos fuimos directo a Palm Springs (es solo 1 hora y media!!) pero nos paramos a cada rato para tomar fotos...todo era demasiado espectacular. Nos intentamos acercar lo mas posible a los molinos...es increíble la cantidad de molinos que hay. Por el calor que hacía (más de 40 grados centígrados), usé un vestido ligero blanco pero con unos detalles muy cool (como las mangas anchas y los trenzado el busto). Tengo tantas fotos por compartir... de San Juan, Culebra, Los Angeles, Palm Springs y San Diego...ha sido una locura de viaje pero estamos muy contentos de poder trabajar desde donde sea!
También quiero aprovechar para agradecerle a Kia por prestarme un Kia Sorento 2016. Yo que llevo con el mismo carro por casi 10 años, este me hizo empezar a dudar y querer ver uno nuevo. Este ha sido el carro perfecto para nuestros pequeños viajes por California. De verdad que mil gracias Kia!

Hey girls! I can’t believe how fast the year has gone by…it’s already mid-September, you know what that means: FASHION MONTH- starting out with New York Fashion Week which is happening right now. If you already have your flight and hotel booked (for any of Fashion Weeks, London, Milan, or Paris) , here’s a simple guide to prepare for the madness (or to any especial event for that matter).
Two weeks before Fashion Week:
- Stay organized: make sure you have RSVP’d and received a confirmation to all shows you are going to attend. Make a google doc or an excel sheet with all the shows and parties with their respective times and locations. Send it to your phone and/or make alerts if you need them.
A week before:
- Plan your outfits: we all want to look our best (and be photographed outside the shows for streetstyle, of course!). If you are very organized, you might want to start planning even before that- but I find a week before perfect. A week still gives you time to run to your favorite store in case you need anything else. I like trying things on and taking pictures of it- that way I see how the outfit looks with accessories too and you don’t forget them. Don’t be afraid to be bold and bright…this is the time to do so!
- Talking about accessories… a bright smile is your #1 accessory PLUS it goes with any outfit. My recommendation to make your pearly whites even more brilliant: the Colgate Optic White toothpaste, mouthwash, and toothbrush with the built-in whitening pen (and use them in that same order!).
3 days before:
- Time to go to the salon and pamper yourself: get a mani and pedi (preferably gel so you don’t have to worry about it chipping while carrying your bags on the plane…that always happens to me!).
The Day before:
- Time to pack. I’m sure that if you are a fashion lover, like me, that bag is going to be FULL (just make sure it doesn’t surpass 50 lbs). Recommendation: bring a day’s worth of clothes, pjs, and underwear in your carry on in case your luggage doesn’t arrive at your destination at the same time you do.
- Don’t forget the hotel confirmation, your passport or ID, credit/debit card, and extra cash just in case.

¡Hola chicas! No puede creer lo rápido que el año esta pasando…ya estamos a mediados septiembre, lo que significa: SEMANAS DE LA MODA (así sea Nueva York que está pasando en estos momentos, Paris, Milan o Londres). Si ya tienes tu vuelo y hotel reservado, aquí les dejo una pequeña guía de como prepararte para esta locura (¡o para cualquier evento importante!!).
Dos semanas antes:
- Mántente organizada: asegúrate haber mandado todos tus RSVPs y también haber recibido un email confirmando tu asistencia de todos las pasarelas, presentaciones y eventos que tienes pensado asistir a. Puedes hacer un google doc o usar excel donde tengas todos los eventos con sus respectivas horas y lugares. Mándala a tu teléfono y crea alertas en dado caso que las necesitas.
Una semana antes:
- Planífica tus looks: todas queremos vernos espectaculares en esta semana tan importante (y admitimos querer ser fotografiadas afuera de los shows). Si eres muy organizada, puedes empezar a planificar antes de una semana- pero en mi caso, una semana funciona perfectamente ya que te da tiempo de ir de compras en dado que lo necesies. A mi me gusta probarme todo y tomar un selfie en frente el espejo para ver como se ve con accesorios y también acordarme de los looks que llevo.
- Hablando de accesorios…el mejor accesorio que una mujer puede llevar consigo es su SONRISA- aparte que combina con todo. Mi recomendación para una sonrisa espectacularmente brillante es usar el regimen de Colgate Optic White que incluye la crema dental, el enjuague bucal, y la plumita blanqueadora (¡)que viene adentro del cepillo de dientes!. Usalos en ese mismo orden para los mejores resultados.
3 días antes:
- Es hora de ir al salón de belleza y consentirte. Hazte un manicure y pedicure (preferiblemente de gel así no te tienes que preocupar de que se te dañen…especialmente al viajar y cagar las maletas!)
El día antes:
- Hora de hacer la maleta: si eres toda una fashionista, estoy segura que esa maleta va a estar MUY LLENA (intenta que no pase las 50 libras). Mi recomendación es que lleves una muda de ropa, pijama, y ropa interior en tu equipaje de mano en dado caso que tu maleta no llegue a tu destino al mismo tiempo que tu.
- Tampoco olvides la confirmación del hotel, tu pasaporte o identificación, tarjetas de crédito y efectivo para emergencias.

Minnie Mouse was my first style muse at age four…I remember dressing up as Minnie for several Halloweens (and I wasn’t the only one, there were at least 4 girls dressed as Minnie in my small classroom!!). And there is something so timeless about her style…polka dots, black/white/red, and big bows will always be in style.

A los 4 años, Minnie Mouse era mi ícono de moda. Recuerdo que me disfracé varias veces de Minnie en Carnaval en Venezuela (y no era la única, en mi pequeño salón éramos al menos 4 niñas disfrazadas de Minnie). Pero es que todo lo que es lunares, rojo/blanco/negro, y lazos...siempre estará de moda.
Para celebrar el lanzamiento del Instagram @MinnieStyle, me uno a Refinery29 y a Disney para mostrarles como Minnie me ha seguido inspirado a través de los años. Esta vez quise utilizar un crop top de lunares con una falda midi roja...y por supuesto, un labial rojo.
¡Siempre va a haber algo de Minnie en todas...sin importar nuestra edad!
I always talk about versatility…about investing in key pieces and always thinking of at least three ways to wear the same item. For example: these amazing columnist pants from Express can be worn easily for business by just adding a polished top and a blazer. Who says dressing to work has to be boring? I love that the print of these pants is bold yet classic (oh btw, Express also sells a similar matching suit and it is gorgeous. I think I’m going back to the store to get it!). Also, you can add a leather moto jacket and some booties for a rocker chic look. This time, I went with some cool pieces like the hat and the round glasses to give the pants more of a casual feel. Final touch: this gorgeous quilted burgundy handbag from Express.
I wore this to have dinner at an amazing place in Los Angeles called “The Springs”….they have the best raw/organic juices and salads! But first, we stopped at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art to take pictures at the iconic Urban Light <3

Siempre les hablo de buscar versatilidad en lo que usen...y de invertir en piezas básicas pensando en un mínimo de 3 maneras de como utilizarla. Por ejemplo: estos pantalones de Express pueden ser fácilmente usados en el trabajo al agregar una blusa y un blazer. ¿Quién dijo que la ropa de trabajo debe ser aburrida? Este estampado es diferente y llamativo pero a la misma vez es clásico (por cierto, Express también tiene la chaqueta matchy matchy ..que por cierto, estoy que regreso a la tienda a buscarlo!). También puedes agregar una chaqueta de cuero y botines para un look más loquero. Pero esta vez añadí piezas modernas como el sombrero y los lentes redondos para convertir estos pantalones de vestir en unos más casuales. Toques finales: una cartera borgoña también de Express.
Esto lo utilicé para ir a comer a un lugar que nos encantó en Los Angeles llamado "The Springs"- es todo comida orgánica, vegana, raw, etc...riquísima. Pero antes de paramos en el famoso "Urban Light" afuera del Museo de Arte LACMA.

I don't even know how many times I've mentioned that I love two-piece sets...and this post proves it! A simple reason: they are three-in-one: you can wear them together or as in separates (the price point of sets is usually the same as dresses but you get three times the versatility).

¡Les he dicho muchísimo que me encantan los sets de dos piezas! Y este post justamente demuestra el porque...porque son un 3 en 1: puedes usarlos juntos o por separado (mucho mejor que un vestido, y en general los sets cuestan lo mismo que un vestido).

Dear Angeles,
I don’t remember how, when, or where I met you but I was always fascinated with your unique aura. You always light up the room (it doesn’t matter if it’s a fashionable event or a cozy get together for a friend’s birthday)..you shine with elegance and poise, with your big smile and kind heart.
I cannot describe how I felt when I found out you were diagnosed with the Big-C, as you like to call it. I cannot imagine how you felt….life is definitely unfair sometimes. My grandmother and aunt were diagnosed with breast cancer when I just a girl and I thought I knew about this horrible disease.
I know I am not one to say and I still don’t understand a fraction of what you are going through. The way you have been documenting your journey on your blog is inspiring. You have no idea how proud I am… you are not only beautiful inside and out, but you are is SO strong. Your hair might not be there…but you are still pure magic. I know you are coming out of this stronger than ever. You are going to kick it with style <3 and then we will party with fried chicken and wine.

“Tuesday, August 18th 2015 at 4am. I could not sleep and I went to the bathroom. I was feeling strange, too much thinking, maybe some pain in my body but I noticed something was happening. I saw myself in front of the mirror and I discovered that my hair, my magic hair was falling off. All of them! So crazy to see how your hair is not alive anymore. I was in shocked, of course. It is worst than in the movies, you know... all of those stereotypes that movies show when people are losing the hair because of the side effects of chemotherapy.
Well, this is my story, my own private story.... not too private because I prefer to share the experience with you, it is a good feeling at the end of the day to say how is this difficult process, how much it
affects the femininity of a woman.
In my case I wanted to have this process like a ritual, a new beginning, a new Angeles , a new Chica..... yes! Because it is something to remember and I need to live this experience second by second.
The day I cut my hair was magic. In a private special soiree with some closes friends, in silence, in a friend house, who generously gave me his own space to make a mess in his living room. With all my hair, my tears and all my emotions we created a night full of creativity,
so real and so magic!”

Cancer awareness is more than running a 5k or giving flowers. It’s looking for different ways to help those who are fighting against the disease. We ALL can really make a difference….that’s why I’ve loved partnering with Pantene Beautiful Lengths for their national campaign that encourages people to share their strength and donate their beautiful, healthy hair to create free wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment. So far, the campaign has received more than 800,000 hair donations but we need to duplicate this number; to create one wig, it takes between 8-15 ponytails.

- Gray hair does not absorb dye at the same rate as other types of hair, so hair may not be more than 5% gray at the time of donation.

No me acuerdo en que momento o donde te conocí pero siempre me ha llamado mucho la atención la luz que transmites. Tu alegría es contagiosa…no importante si es en el evento más chic o en una reunión en mi casa….brillas con tu elegancia y con tu gran corazón.
No puedo describir como me sentí cuando anunciaste las tristes noticias…y menos puedo imaginarme como tu te sentiste- definitivamente la vida puede ser muy injusta. Tanto mi tía como mi abuela fueron diagnosticadas con cáncer de sena cuando era una niña.
Yo pensé que sabía de esta horrible enfermedad…la manera como has estado documentando el proceso en tu blog inspira a todos los que te conocemos. Me siento extremadamente orgullosa de ti, porque no solo eres bella por dentro y por fuera si no también eres una luchadora. Con o sin cabello…eres MAGIA. Se que más a sobrepasar este capitulo difícil en tu vida como si nada…pero con mucho estilo. Por que ahora es que nos faltan fiestas con pollo frito y vino.

Crear conciencia con respecto al cáncer es más que correr 5k o mandar flores. Es buscar diferentes maneras de ayudar a todos aquellos luchando contra esta enfermedad. TODOS podemos hacer una diferencia. Por eso me siento muy feliz de colaborar con Pantene Beautiful Lengths cuya misión es distribuir gratuitamente pelucas de cabello real a aquellas mujeres que han perdido su cabello debido al tratamiento contra el cáncer.
