Giving Back This Holiday Season with AmazonSmile Charity Lists

2020 hasn’t been the year we all imagined it would be. It has taught us the importance of enjoying the little things in life and giving back to our community and those who need it most.

I love how AmazonSmile Charity Lists make it so easy to give back.

At smile.amazon.com/charitylists, you can find an organization to give back to by browsing by cause (from Pets & Animals, Environment, and Health…to Veterans and Arts and Culture) or simply searching for your favorite organizations. I already knew I wanted to donate to an animal organization, so I added the keyword “Miami” in the search bar, and AmazonSmile gave me a list of animal organizations IN Miami.

I was super excited to see that “Jamie’s Rescue” was on the list - that’s the rescue where we adopted Susy from in January. This organization was founded by Jamie Robinson, a past photographer for the White House in the 70s, who nurtures puppies and dogs back to health and puts them up for adoption.

To adopt Susy, we were interviewed by Jamie a few times - we visited the rescue twice and we were in complete awe by seeing all the dogs run freely around the house and backyard. It’s like she lives with the dogs, and not the other way around. You can tell it is a labor of love.

Once you select an AmazonSmile Charity List, you can view their full wish list – and in Jamie’s Rescue’s case, it mostly includes pet supplies and cleaning products. You can then purchase items to donate and have them directly delivered to the organization’s designated address.

I am very excited to give back to the place that gave us our precious little Susy.

In addition to charity lists, you can also support your favorite charitable organization at no extra cost to you just by shopping through AmazonSmile. Visit smile.amazon.com/holiday and browse Amazon’s wide selection of holiday deals and low price items, receive fast and free delivery options, and more. The best part is, when you start your shopping at smile.amazon.com, Amazon will automatically donate a portion of the purchase price of eligible products to a charity of your choice.

And it gets even earier than that! If you are in the giving spirit and wish to make a monetary donation, you can simply say “Alexa, I want to make a donation” to any Alexa enabled device to get started.

Let’s make the holidays a bit more wonderful for those who need it most! Click here if you are ready to give back and browse AmazonSmile Charity Lists – and share how you’re giving back this season with #DeliveringSmiles.

Getting in the Holiday Spirit with shopDisney

Monday, November 9, 2020

This post is sponsored by ShopStyle and shopDisney. All opinions are my own.

Last year Nico was still too little to understand the Holiday Season. So this year I’m going all out, especially with the 2020 we’ve all had…we deserve to welcome the most wonderful time of the year a little earlier.

Last week, I checked ShopDisney and, as we have a two year old who is completely obsessed with Mickey Mouse,  I got a few pieces that I knew he was going to love.

The first thing I added to the cart was these matching Mickey Mouse sweaters. The one I am wearing is actually men’s, but I really like the oversized fit and that I can wear it as a sweater dress + I absolutely love matching with Nico.

This is also our first Holiday with Susy, we rescued her in January so I also wanted to get her a little something-something. This top with gingerbread cookies was perfect and she looks so cute!

As I brought out our box with ornaments, as this is the first time I get a big tree…I think it’s time to get some new ornaments. These are some of my favorites:

Finally I had to get these plush Mickey and Minnie- I’m giving the Minnie to my niece, Mila, who is turning one this month.  I can’t wait to see them together playing with them…aww my heart!

Did you already decorate your home? What are you most excited about this Holiday season?

Movement in Mind

When I was little, I was such a sporty girl. I did gymnastics, ballet, played tennis, loved rollerblading, cycling…everything!

As I got “older” ,  I just became more of a workout class type of gal. I still love being active, but maybe not as daring as I used to be.

For my birthday, I got some roller skates…they are harder than I remember.  So I got my gear ready and I’ve started practicing.

I recently discovered Nordstrom’s in-house lifestyle brand, Zella. It is made for everyone, every size, and every activity… to make you feel strong, balanced, and ready for everything.  It is made with movement in mind, and it shows- these high waist performance leggings are seriously the most comfortable leggings I have.  I also love the scalloped detail on the sports bra! Check out some of my favorite pieces below!

They also have the cutest loungewear, perfect for this time in history when we are spending more time that we would like in our house. Here are some of my favorites, and I think you will find your favorite outfit for the season too!

As I’ve been very careful during the pandemic, I love the curbside pickup at Nordstrom. I can order something tonight and pick it up without even opening my driver door. Nordstrom is also having free shipping and returns, and you can sign up to become a member of The Nordy Club by clicking HERE and enjoy exclusive perks like members-only access to sales and events.

5 BOOTS YOU SHOULD HAVE IN YOUR WARDROBE

I live in Miami and I wear boots year-round (yes, no matter how hot it gets)…I absolutely love the look and feel they give to any outfit. They can make a pair of denim shorts look boho or edgy…and give the final touch to a simple fall outfit.

So I wanted to round out the 5 boot styles I believe every woman should have in their shoe closet.

All the styles I’m recommending are from Nordstrom Rack, aka designer brands at a great price (you can save up to 70% offf designer brands). Let me know which style is your favorite!

1) OVER THE BOOTS

I absolutely adore how over-the-knee boots look! They make such a fashionable statement, while keeping you warm.

I love wearing them with shorts, skirts and dresses + sweaters for the colder Miami days. And I always take them with me when I travel during the cold months since they look amazing with jeans and over tights.

My advice is to go for a comfortable pair with a thicker heel or a flat over the boot for more casual looks.

2) ANIMAL PRINT BOOTIES

Animal print booties can bring to life any neutral outfit. Leopard is timeless, but I’m loving snake print even more!

Outfit idea: jeans, a turtleneck, a camel coat + leopard booties!

3) POP OF COLOR

My go-to color for fall is burgundy, it is extremely versatile and it has a wow-factor!

You will always get so many compliments when wearing these boots! They look great with black, white, nude, camel, gray, with florals, and plaid!

4) LOW HEEL TIMELESS BOOTS

These are my go-to for every day, perfect for moms (as pictured with my little one!).  I have a nude pair and a black pair that I wear non-stop..with denim, biker shorts, dresses, skirts…absolutely anything goes!

5) SEXY HIGH HEEL BOOTS

Go for that pair that makes you feel absolutely gorgeous!

My favorite pair is black because of its versatility, but again, you should definitely own a pair of high heeled booties that make you feel like you can do absolutely ANYTHING!

MOMMY AND ME HALLOWEEN COSTUME: Ariel & Sebastian

Thursday, October 8, 2020

🧜🏼‍♀️ 🦀All right....All right, I’ll help you get that prince!! ❤️

Little Mermaid was my favorite movie growing up, so here we are as Ariel and Sebastian!!!

Instead of the classic purple top and green tail, I went for the DIY sheet dress when she gets her legs and starts the human adventure!

The only thing I bought for myself was the starfish hair clips from Amazon

I've had this redhead wig since last year and I've used it for Daphne (Scooby Doo), Mean Girls (Cady Heron), Darla (Nemo), and now Ariel... it's a wig remix haha! You can see more at #nanylovesHalloween on Instagram.

_________

FALL TRENDS 2020 + WISH LIST

Tuesday, September 29, 2020

*Sponsored by Shopstyle and Nordstrom Rack. This post includes affiliate links. All opinions are my own.

We just welcomed FALL last week! Well, in Miami we are not so lucky, but hopefully you are enjoying nicer weather!

If you are embracing the cooler temperatures and you feel you need a few new pieces to update your fall-winter wardrobe, check out my favorite fall trends and tons of options from Nordstrom Rack.

Nordstrom Rack is my favorite stop for designer brands at a great price (you can save up to 70% offf designer brands). I wanted to pick pieces that are trendy but still comfortable and functional, so you can rock them while working from home, or baking an apple pie with family, heading to the park with the pup!

1) FAUX FUR

I’m absolutely loving the “faux fur” jacket trend. It feels super cozy, I can picture comfy fall outfits outdoor wearing these jackets and eating S’mores by a fire. And at the same time you can dress them up and feel all glammed strolling in your city!

2) PUNK PLAID

Even though the preppy trend is also super in this season, I love the idea of PUNK plaid- aka plaid with a 90s touch and edgier vibes. Add leather/dark pieces and a lot of attitude!

Okay they said you shouldn’t wear white after Labor Day (I totally disagree though), BUT what about ALL SHADES OF NUDES? Go for it in sweaters, jackets, coats, pants….and if it’s an monochromatic look, even better!

2020 wasn’t what we were expecting so embrace that out-of-the-box with fun and bold geometric shapes. If you want to try this trend but still have a timeless print in your closet, go for houndstooth!

My inner bohemian self absolutely loves the idea of a little fringe in cozy sweaters and jackets. It adds a fun touch to your otherwise basic pieces.

What was your favorite trend? I can’t pick my fave!

Counting the days for OCTOBER!

Monday, September 28, 2020

I'm super excited that October is right around the corner, it is my birth month and I absolutely love dressing up. I'm a scorpio so my inner witchy side is more than happy to show.

I know I'll wear this black leather skirt a lot, but I'm most excited about these tights. I've been looking for a pair of tights like this since the last Holiday season. I honestly can't wait to wear them for a Holiday party or for New Years eve.

I also added a few spooky books to start feeling the Halloween vibe.

________________

3 Toddler Educational Activities with Etsy

Tuesday, September 22, 2020

Sponsored by Etsy. This post contains affiliate links. All opinions are my own.

This year definitely is a lot different from what we were expecting. We had everything planned for Nico to start school, but the universe had a different plan.

Today I want to tell you a bit of the toddler activities that we have been doing at home to make sure Nico is learning what the fundamentals for his age while having fun.

Etsy is my go-to for one-of-a kind finds in absolutely every department. You can find Back To School items that are functional and unique WHILE supporting small businesses.

He is wearing the cutest alphabet sweatshirt- he was super excited when he saw it. He said random letters in Spanish and wanted to put it on instantly (I also had my eye on this one that you can customize)

So now that we have our alphabet sweatshirt on, here are some of of Toddler Educational Ac- tivities you can find:

1) Wooden Puzzle:

They are an amazing learning toy, to practice spelling their name and learning the letters. I really liked this one that includes a bear and a mountain on each side of the customized named.

Another option I loved was this one that also includes shapes, colors, and numbers. I ordered it recently, and it should be arriving very soon!

2) Sensory kits:

Sensory play is crucial for child development as it encourages imaginative play, helps develop fine motor skills, and building help connections in the brain.

We have a dinosaur one that is absolutely adorable. Also check out the construction sensory kit, and a mermaid one

3) Wooden Block Sets

Such a classic activity but it truly helps them practice hand-eye coordination, shape recogni- tion, and encourages open ended play with endless imagination.

-This one includes 100 wooden pieces in 9 different shapes.

 - This other set has 29 blocks in various shapes and color!

What’s a must activity you do or did with your toddler? Share it with us!
