Army Green & Stripes

Yes, yes...I'm a little behind looks-wise! I've been slowly trying to update the blog more and more to catch up. I should have uploaded this look while I was in Los Angeles for We All Grow. However, it was such a busy time that I didn't have time to stop and write. I could be more organized and have post scheduled ahead of time, but I like sitting down and writing in real time.

I wore this at the end of February...when Miami's weather was a little bit cooler. I'm wearing two pieces of the Who What Wear Collection for Target..and this look can actually be seen on the official TV commercial (I have to say I thought about it before seeing it haha).

Instead of adding a black bag as I would have normally done, I added this mustard bag part of the limited edition Coach 1941 collection. I'm in love with the Coach revamp-...the new creative director is killing it.

Tomorrow I'll be in Dallas for Beauty Con, so if you are there and want to stop by I'll be at booth #26 by the stage. XOXO

¡BESOS!

Suede Mania…with Express

Thursday, March 17, 2016

The fashion world is not ready to let the 70s inspiration go…and it’s not surprise that suede is here to stay! This material is regularly associated with cooler weathers…but it is also perfect for Spring! This season, many designers sent pieces made of suede down the runway….and I’m so excited to find this trend at Express- one of my favorite stores.

There are many great ways to wear suede…from jackets, skirts, dresses-, handbags, and boots they all continue to be all the rage! You can pair suede with boho pieces- like I did here while in Palm Springs. The desert always brings the bohemian side of me, so I added a hat, a cute black handbag, and these gorgeous lace-up suede flats (also from Express).

But you can also go for a streamlined look by pairing it with timeless pieces. For example, I absolutely love these Express suede culottes with a simple top and classic heels.

How would you wear suede this Spring?
Check out some of my Express suede faves below! XOXO

¡Besos!

NYFW: Mara Hoffman Inspired...with TRESemmé

Tuesday, March 15, 2016

Mara Hoffman is always one of my favorites. Every season I always look forward to her runways- she has a distinctive bohemian style but every season she is daring…and she didn’t disappoint me in her presentation for Fall/Winter 2016 in New York Fashion Week. She shared “ I wanted the collection to feel like you were sitting at a dinner table with all the major icons from the 70s- Cher, Jerry Hall, Bianca Jagger, etc”.

This season, I absolutely loved the big voluminous curls her models featured on the runway. TRESemmé, as the Official haircare Sponsor of New York Fashion Week, debuted the new collection “Beauty-Full”…which I find it very cool and innovative because it has a reverse wash system (meaning that you apply you conditioner first, and then your shampoo second…this was designed for even more volume).

I was so inspired to recreate this 70s glamour look and I have partnered with TRESemmé to bring you the step by the step on how they exactly created this look on the Mara Hoffman Presentation.

______

Floral & Leather

Sunday, March 13, 2016

I love mixing edgy and girly elements... reason why adding a leather vest to this Coach floral dress was a no-brainer. Since that day was a little bit chill, I added the over-the-knee boots.  I've done this combo many many times..and it's still one of my favorites. Without the leather vest, I think this look is too girly for me.

Also, the dress was long on my petite figure, reason why I added a belt on the waist to make it shorter and more flattering.

I also re-wore this in Los Angeles the day I had to speak on my panel. You can see the full recap on my trip to We All Grow, HERE!

Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!

XOXO

Seekender Escape...at We All Grow Summit 2016

Wednesday, March 9, 2016

Last week, I attended a conference in California called We All Grow. I attended last year too and it was also my second year as a speaker there. 2015 was amazing and of course I was wondering how it would be this year. I have to say that Ana Flores, her Latina Blogger Connect team, and all the sponsors made this second WAG even more special.

Since I started my blog, I've had the opportunity to attend several conferences...and the vibe of this one makes it the best I have ever attended. Everyone is so supportive...together, we all grow!

This year, the conference was held in Long Beach, California (a little bit South of Los Angeles) and we stayed at a beautiful hotel called Hotel Maya (part of Double Tree by Hilton). The hotel was by the ocean, BEAUTIFUl, and I loved the mexican decor.

My roommate was one of my sweet blogger friends Erika from Lola Blue Style- and then we kind of adopted Valentina from MVTrends (she basically spent more time in our room than in hers...and half of the pictures int his post were taken by her...thanks Valen, love you).

Our trip started with a boat ride and a whole day in Catalina Island...so amazing! But more on that later. Then we rushed into the hotel because Hampton by Hilton had a special cocktail party to welcome everyone. It was the first time we were all in the same place and as you can see in the pics below, I had a blast taking silly pictures by the photo booth.

The conference officially started on Friday. There were so many inspiring panels- just when I feel like blogging has stalled, these women just keep me going. However, the best part is spending time with bloggers than I now consider close friends. Most of us live in different cities and it's great to have a fun weekend to just escape...very Seekender of us.

Because just like 90% of Latinos, it's not about the destination but WHO you are going with. And again, these women make it so special and inspiring.

Then on Friday I had my panel where we talked about Individuality in Lifestyle Blogging. I spoke with Claudia from The Penny Closet, Alana Marie Style, and Monique from Curves and Chaos. The room was full and I personally loved sharing things I've learned over the years.

But talking about escape, I want to invite you all #Seekenders to enter for a change to win a weekend trip for two to your Hampton Hilton Hotel of choice within the U.S (includes airfare); just upload a photo to Twitter or IG (it can be even a place you want to visit), tag @HamptonbyHilton and use the hashtags #WegoTogether #SweepstakesEntry. Good luck!! You can also see all details by clicking HERE.

La semana pasada fui a una conferencia llamada We All Grow.

I live where you vacation... with LOFT Swimwear

Monday, March 7, 2016

“I live where you vacation”…
I heard that phrase for the first time as soon as I moved to Miami…and it made me appreciate more the beautiful city I live in. People all over the world visit Miami for their gorgeous beautiful beaches, white sand, and friendly people….and to do that, I just have to put my favorite bathing suit and cross the bridge that takes me from Downtown to Miami Beach.

Talking about bathing suits, I have a weakness for reversible and versatile bikinis- like this one I’m wearing from LOFT. I love how I can wear it with the stripes print or with the paisley one. To make it even better, you can fold the high waisted bottom- which gives you a touch of the second print and it’s perfect for tanning. I was so inspired by the pretty prints from LOFT that why not mix them up? The Paisley Tasseled Sarong works also to lay down on the sand…but I absolutely love how it looks in a turban. Last touch? Round sunglasses (which have become my favorite sunglasses style), a striped beach bag, and tasseled caftan for another pretty print.

Who is ready for summer?!! I know I am.

"I live where you vacation".

BLOGGER COPYCAT: inspired by Walk in Wonderland

Friday, March 4, 2016

When I discovered the blogging industry, I would recreate many looks from bloggers...I always felt so inspired. As the industry changed and it became so competitive, getting inspired by another blogger became like a weakness...like people would judge you with a " you couldn't come up with your look by yourself, ha"...and I have to say I don't like that.

I even know some close friends who stopped following a lot of people because they didn't want their style to be "influenced" by anybody. I understand staying true to yourself, and that's very important...but I think inspiration is everywhere- and I love giving credit where credit is due (and I honestly love when a reader or blogger tells me they recreated or got inspired by one of my looks).

Talking about credit, we can say I "stole" this look from Sheryl, who writes a Walk in Wonderland. I met Sheryl in San Francisco a couple of years ago since we were doing the same campaign for Nordstrom Rack. We instantly clicked and I'm obsessed with her style, I think she is the jean-queen.

I got this faux-suede jacket a couple of weeks ago and I wore it with an all-black ensemble...they I saw Sheryl wear it with basic jeans and a white top and I instantly wanted to recreate it (I even commented it on her IG). I owned all the pieces, it's not like I went and bought it to "steal her look"...

And that should be the magic of blogging: relating to someone and thinking wow I love it, let me recreate it and give it my own touch  <3

March Wishlist

Tuesday, March 1, 2016

Wow I haven't done a "wishlist" in years. I used to do them to really list things that I had my eye on and then choose what I really wanted or "needed".

1. Striped dress: I had a long shirt that I used to wear as a loose dress..but I got it at an asian website, so the quality wasn't great. I'm still deciding if I want it loose or more like a midi body-con. I have a couple of looks in mind that would look great with a striped dress (and you can never go wrong with this classic).

2. Great sports bra: I've been exercising a lot lately. I think a good sports bra is the most important thing, no matter what exercise you are doing. Some of my favorites are from Target- the price point is great and the quality is amazing.

3. A straw boater hat: I already shared that I have been looking for the perfect boater hat for over a year...they ones I LOVE are so pricey....let the hunt continue!

4. Adidas Superstar Originals: because why not? They look great with everything. I've had my eye on them for a while but I keep wearing my white Coach sneakers instead.

5. Kylie Lipkit (the red lipstick): so I refused to buy her lipsticks (or give the Kardashians more money even in the slightest way) but I've hear great reviews- and at the end, what matters is the quality of something...not the name it has on it.

6. A gold/dressier choker: I'm obsessed with chokers and I like the idea of a dressier version than the 90s tattoo choker I wear frequently.

7. A black suede button down skirt: yes I know, I'm obsessed with this style of skirt. I've worn my mustard version so often I lost track. I haven't done a remix because I plan on continue wearing it for the next couple of months.

8. A camo jacket: I used to have one and I don't know why I sold it on my Poshmark. It's a classic for edgier looks.

9. A double buckle belt: it adds a perfect touch to any look. It was sold out everywhere a couple of weeks ago, I'll try again.

10. Sneakers to train: I've been wearing the same sneakers to exercise for too long to admit here.  I like this Nike version because it can work on casual looks too.

What's on your current shopping wishlist?

¡WOW!
